I think we may have similar issues. I can't get root access either.

I think you should flash the stock rom to fix this issue....
I answered your question although it isn't in the correct forum... ^_^

Which model/company is your phone?
You can copy the SuperSU app to your phone using adb. If you respond with the info I requested I can try and help.

I had dat problem too with 5 phones, simply flash d stock ROM

It's not CWM's fault! It's your own stupidity! There is no such a thing as accidentally formatting! Your music project is gone for good...

If this project was so important to you why didn't you back it up off of the phone somewhere? Dropbox or the free 50GB Box account most got with the Nexus 4 come to mind. I'm not sure if a full nandroid backup includes the contents of the sdcard on the nexus 4 but that might be a place to start looking, that is if you ever bothered to do a full backup of your phone.
You can get your files back, the same thing happened to me, my pocket somehow formatted my sdcard. Look for software that recovers deleted files

Why not share that precious secret then..? What is the point of your post unless you share the name of that software..???

What secret? I said there is software that recovers deleted files. Have you heard of Google? Search for software that recovers deleted files and voila, you'll have your dats back. There are hundreds of programs that can handle your problem.

No offence but he could've searched on Google without anyone telling him to. that's why people come here on xda to get help from fellow members.. what's the point of replying if someone asks for help here and in reply what he all gets is 'go search Google'..

XDA also encourages users to search for answers before asking for help. This place is for learning new things and expanding current knowledge. People won't really learn if they're spoon fed what they want to know.

Boy do you have it wrong. XDA is not a place to come and get help. IT is not a support site. This is a developers site. You are EXPECTED to put in the time and effort to fix your own issues first. Then spend some time searching. (and do search outside your own devices forum) Then you try some things you have seen. If that doesnt work then you can post a thread but dont expect a solution.

I'd love to here about the hundreds of software that recovers deleted files from MTP devices (MTP is not direct hardware access like plugging a flash drive into your computer)

So you mean the software like PC Inspector or Recuva or any other file recovering software will not work on our Nexus 4..??
once i deleted my photos from my old desire HD and i recovered it using PC inspector...now Nexus does not have SD card so i am not sure weather that will work or not..

I haven't tested such software, and I could be wrong, but when you connect (most) newer Android devices to a computer, you get access to the files via MTP. You don't have direct access to the filesystem (which I think is ext4), and because of this, you can't do the "advanced" stuff needed for file recovery (I guess checking sectors, free space, and etc.)
Older (and some newer) Android devices when hooked to a computer let you do USB Mass Storage (essentially the same kind of access you have when you plug a flash drive in), which is giving you direct access to the file system (FAT32), and in-theory, should work fine with file recovery software.
so can we mount the nexus 4 as fat32 or ext4? because on mine it just shows up in device section with no name

full screen ads on xda?

I don't know if xda has been hacked or if it's something they have agreed to but over the last few weeks anytime I come to this site I get bombarded by ads full screen ones sometimes that force me to either download or go to another site including that dam mobogenie, I kept thinking it must be an app I've downloaded or some kind of malware but after a couple of full wipes including formatting my internal and external as soon as come back to this site it starts again I've tried other sites and the ads don't appear it only happens when I come here! I was wanting to know if this is happening to anyone else or if it's just me? I've also tried different roms but it has the same out come any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
TThanks in advance.
No problem here.

hi ,
yes, i had similar experience, many months back, when i used the relevant free version.of app.
i also found this to happenned on a another very" popular" twitter app ( free ) i had. .
the pop up ad was full page and you could only close it by clicking on x,( in the ad top right corner of ad )
and appeared sometimes even if i had exited, the app.!!
i know it was these apps, as it happened on my then , Note 2 stock rom ( i now have Note 3 ) and Note 8.0 stock rom ,whenever i used the apps ..!!
i unticked "notifications in relevant app ////settings ..application manager ,but it did not help .!!
i uninstalled and it was gone !
i had sinced move on ,and now have the paid version of said apps !! No problems !!
i bought it because i wanted the premiun versions and not because i was " bullied " into it ..!!
i don't mind if app have " Ads "and it is placed discreetly !
but this" full blown ad tactic" ,is low down amateurish and childish !!
i will uninstall it if i was you.!
good luck
Use traptalk app. Much better than xda app and is free. Use Adblock
It used to happen to me add well so I just use tapatalk now. Solved ?

I was talking about on the browser by the way... Never used xda app

Its happening on the browser not the app sorry I thought I said that, it happens every time I come to this site using the Samsung browser or dolphin. It only happens here though when I move to a different page it stops it only started about 3 weeks ago I think, it hasn't been long. I have tapatalk and the xda app but hardly use them, maybe should start huh! I've been told to try chrome with adblock so I'm hoping that will fix it permanently! Thank you for all the suggestions I do really appreciate it.

Nexus Root Toolkit .tgz v .zip

Hi guys i have spent hours scouring the web on how to flash nexus 4 with [ROM][5.0.2][MAKO OFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix LP v5.3.4 [10/02/15] and I cant seem to be able to do it in a pure way if you know what I mean. Whenever I try to select the factory image for it manually the one I downloaded it is not the right format. My problem is that no one makes their roms in tgz so I cant use the software to flash it.
Edit: If anyone would be kind enough to come on skype with me or teamviewer to walk me through it I would really appreciate it im desperate
Hey I can help you.. Please give the link of the ROM thread and the issue you are facing.. Please be elaborate

Hi I have managed to do it in the end I commend you for responding, but I am facing new issue, I have installed this evil app and I dont know if I need to flash it again or not
Its called the wifikill 2.2 or something like that I cant post the link for the report but I have uploaded it ill pm you the details.
I have decided to run some checks after I realised that the app is not functional, those blogs on google are clever I am hoping im not part of anyone's botnet and also I adblock crashes and on WOMIC my voice keeps appearing static after 5 minutes of chatting so something really is up

You can find the latest beta lollipop rom over here. It seems fairly bug free, but it is still a beta. http://www.needrom.com/download/s3-lollipop-v5-1/

You can just switch the root access and delete all that you wanted
Thank you so much
Can you please point me to some links about how do I go about installing this. I can get the phone to an adb prompt , and that's just about it.
Also if someone has had lollipop already on his jiayu s3 , it would indeed be very helpful if they posted their experience n terms of what works perfectly and what needs help.
Yes I am rooted and there is something very interesting I found maybe you can check your phone to see the stuffson your discretion

This has been mentioned a few times already. First time, perhaps, on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61141568&postcount=2836.
It is safe to remove.
What it does, nobody knows. If it correlates to the 'easy' app that, some time later, suddenly appeared, nobody knows either.
I do know that, without 'data_ gospel', 'easy' did not come back (yet) on my phone.
