Has anyone else with the at&t variant of edge+ gotten an ota update today? Anyone knows what it fixes?
I received the update also. UCU1AOH5. Don't know the size or change log, still 5.1.1.
Me too! No idea what it "fixes" Mine was running flawlessly.
Seems really quick for an AT&T ota they usually take forever to release. Didn't catch file size but downloaded quick on slow wifi connection. I'm wondering if other carriers will be rolling out a similar update or this was an AT&T specific thing
I'm at 16% battery, got the update notification but can't continue unless I put it on charge. I hope they fix all the minor bugs that we're experiencing!

I think it's required to support Samsung Pay which rolls out on the 28th.

I'll have to test that. Thanks. My Samsung wireless charger was a joke....wouldn't connect most of the time without fiddling with it for minutes on end.

Anyone capture the OTA? I tried the date trick about 20 times so far and still no update...
I got it as well. Not noticing much difference. Anyone using something other than the 928a?

Somehow my non-working Samsung Wireless Charging Pad has suddenly started working after this update. Anybody else who had this issue previously and got it fixed after OTA Update ?
My free Samsung wireless charger also working after the update.

Hi guys,
I had a small update on my UK S7 edge (1.5mb) and after it completed Samsung pay app was gone.
Anyone else had this happen?
Thanks.
Mine was shipped without the Pay app (UK version from Samsung). It also didn't have the Music or Video apps either.
I sideloaded Pay and haven't received the update yet.
Its strange, was yours a Sim free version? Have you managed to download and install the pay app?
Thanks.
Yes, SIM free from Samsung directly.
You can download the Pay app here.
Thank you nobnut, that worked for me. Much appreciated! :good:

Aha yes done update and pay has gone. Don't mind that no use till it's released.
apparently it was removed in the latest ota update as samsung pay launch has been pushed back in the uk. so it makes sense the app is gone

Yeah I read it was launching end of this month
Check the playstore for Samsung Pay or the galaxy store.
Vodaphone included their own pay app rather than Samsungs....
It's that all the update was for?

Yes, installed and no issues yet.
Nov security update and a fix for VPN's
Got the update yesterday. No issues. Since it didn't do anything special before the update I installed it.
My reference is to the VZW Note 3 that, out of the box, allowed WiFi Hotspot at no extra charge.
I just received an OTA. I assumed it would update me to the March security patch. Think again. Still on February security patch VRU4BQA4.
Notice any changes?

It appears that they fixed some minor wifi problems that started with the nougat update. I wish they could of at least rolled the March security update in as well. You can tell Verizon doesn't care much about security. It is not a high priority on there list. TMobile already OTA'd the March update.
Downloading now. yeah a bit sad they couldn't update the security. If it had to with protection with verizons network. I gurantee verizon would update it. Otherwise yeah, they don't care.

I got it today. Had no issues since Nougat update, now my WiFi is junk. Everything else the same..... it keeps losing WiFi connection and I have to toggle it to get Internet again.

I had this issue before this update
Hello, does anybody have the update on zip file I could download? I am using Verizon's Nougat 7.0 on my T-Mobile because I live in the Dominican Republic and for some reason my unlocked S7 Edge on T-Mobile firmware does not do the Data 4G/3g handover but the Verizon works perfectly. Anyways, I am still on the VRU4BQA2 and would like to update to A4 and of course the OTA just says "Service Unavailable - sorry we are having trouble authenticating your device" so I would have to install it some other way... any thoughts?

I updated when it first released last week and now my phone doesn't fast charge. As of today, it also won't charge with the just the cord, I have to plug it into my PC for it to charge. Talked with Verizon support yesterday and they said there may be a fix coming.

Mine did as well until Sunday evening. There are others in Reddit, but no solutions yet.
Everything was great but like another posted my wifi had be great but now its a mess. It keeps locking up. Other devices (wifes note 5, daughters s6 edge +) and more all work perfectly. What ever this update did has ****ed up my wifi (even some lte) and yes I did reset.
Went to Best Buy today to purchase an S8. They said they didn't have any for T-Mobile, but did for Verizon and said that all I had to do was pop in my T-Mobile sim and it would work like an unlocked device. No luck. Went back to Best Buy and he took the Verizon sim out of his personal phone, popped it in mine, activated the device and then put my T-Mobile sim in the device. Wasn't having any issues until I tried to update the device. Now I'm just getting an "Service Unavailable: Sorry, we are having trouble authenticating your device. Try again later" message. I'm trying to update it on both Wifi and I've tried cellular.
Should I just return this device to Best Buy? I'm paying month to month with T-Mobile and not planning on switching from them, and also just waned to pay in full the device instead of monthly fees. Should I return the device and will I run into future issues using the T-Mobile sim on a "verizon" s8? Thanks!
If you're paying full price, why not just go to a T-Mobile store and purchase one there? Once the firmwares start getting released, you should be able to load a T-Mobile on onto the Verizon version to get all the features working, but even if you do, why go through the hassle?
I would flash the TMobile firmware using ODIN.
Best Buy will be selling the unlocked model on May 9th.

So would it be best to wait for the unlocked model? Does flashing void the warranty? and I tried searching a link for the topic, could ya share it? Thanks...

I ended up downloading the "Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant" after searching for it for 30 minutes (their site is terrible...).
It's supposedly updating now but it's taking an hour to do so...
They still use that crappy thing?

I think? It's slow though. It's been an hour and just now to 60%. Each time the screen on the phone turned off it crashed the software. I think i'm just going to return the phone tomorrow and wait for the unlocked version to come out :/ I really wanted to keep. Sucks.
By purchasing the unlocked version that means it doesn't have as much spam and it won't have to wait for carrier tests/crap correct?
Edit: the software crashed while updating. thought I bricked the phone but thankfully it restarted when I held the down+power for 10 seconds... It said "odin protocol version error!". Guess I'm returning cause I won't ever get updates lol.

Ironically the S7 carrier versions have been updated before the unlock versions were. I believe the unlock ones are still waiting.

Cross flash it with the T-Mobile official software once available using Odin.
I did this on an S7 from AT&T and put the T-Mobile rom. Was detected as fully official, no root, etc, Knox worked, and even Samsung Pay. Acted like any other T-Mobile phone and got all the T-Mobile software updates after that.

Would doing so void the warranty if I have to send it in though? And how difficult is flashing a phone with Odin? I haven't rooted/unlocked/etc a phone since my M7 years ago and only did that with a video on YouTube showing how to? (thanks)
You should return it and get the tmobile version. It is going to be more trouble than it is worth long run. IMO

If you flash an official Samsung Firmware that doesn't void your warranty. You can flash an official Samsung update via Odin. It is very easy process but you have to wait for official updates to become available. Once those are available you can look for those in www.sammobile.com.

Yea you can always just take out your SIM, reboot the phone and connect to wifi. It will then pull the update. Then just put the SIM back in...
I did that with the Koodo SIM, however didn't use the Rogers SIM until today..
Anywho, all good now!
