If you get this error of "Failed to enable Private Mode. Try Again." for Xtrestolite Deodexed Rom users and wants their private mode working again with Aroma add-on private mode installed, to hide stuffs like porn..
1.) Go to data/system/secure_storage and delete/move (place it somewhere in case something goes wrong) the folder with personalpage in the name.
2.) Next went to data/system/users and delete/move (place it somewhere in case something goes wrong) privatemode_edk_1000.
3.) Reboot
I found this method being used on a 910f before, so far it hasn't fail me yet. I've used this before when I was in odexed stock rom but when I rooted my phone it broke my private mode ( it's something to do with SE Android Status being set to permissive). What I did before is, I just flashed Xtrestolite Pure Odexed Aroma Add-on Private Mode and also did the steps 1, 2, and it worked..
Thanks to edgar for the ROM.
my files from private mode are gone how to recover it???
I dont see the above two files in S5 MM. Any help?

I've tried using the said firmware starting from an update all the way to the full tar.md5. No luck. All I get is errors. Being straight talks with Wal-Mart, I believe Wal-Mart bought out the rights to the phone and have had the thing locked down tight. But not impossible. I was able to get root using motochopper 1.1. I noticed that even though it wouldn't let me flash any firmware it would let a kernel module slip by. So I used the kernel module for the G900V_ NCG 4.4.2 and was able to root using mottochopper followed by Supersu . After all that I rebooted into download mode and reflashed the Ph3 kernel mod.

can you please provide a short tutorial on how you exactly did it along with some download links? i found moto chopper but couldnt find any kernels online. im in the same boat but havent had any luck at all with root. i just got this phone and its running marshmallow 6.0.1 with model of sm-s903vl. i also wanted to ask that it did for sure worked with no issues of what you did. i accidentally used a kernel of a firmware before on my S4 from verizon and got a hard brick afterwards so im just trying to be cautious about messing with any kernels beings last time i did change a kernel to an earlier part, it gave the hard brick. i want to be sure that this wont do the same thing beings its going from kernel of 6.0 to .4.4. thanks
please let me know. so many people are wondering how to root this phone on 6.0.
Ditto!!!
I have been wondering about this myself. I know the verizon s3 custom roms would work on the straight talk branded s3.

ODIN will NOT allow FLASHING the BOOT.IMG/ABOOT of the G900V firmware due to the
bootloader being locked down on SM-903VL ( Secure Boot Enabled won't accept G900V kernels! )
But you can downgrade to SM-903VL Factory Test 4.4..2, which allows you to get ROOT!
Once ROOTED & BusyBox is installed, you can "flash" the system/cache IMG's thru the ADB shell as ROOT.
You will end up with SM-903VL 4.4.2 Kernel + G900V KK 4.4.4 System ROM ( Can be rooted with TowelRoot )
KingRoot is only used to Root the Factory Test FW. Once you "flash" the G900V files, you will lose root
(ie. KingRoot is wiped from phone, along with all other data) Simply use TowelRoot to root the G900V FW.
( You will need WIFI or DATA for TR to work though! )

*** NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE STABLE INTERNET CONNECTION for KR to work!. Exit & run KR again if no root.
after ROOT successful, manually install stericson version of busybox: here: https://www.apk4fun.com/apk/6139/
( copy apk to internal SD via PC mtp & install it from MY FILES )
*** install phoneinfo.apk if your LTE DATA does not work - BEFORE "flashing" G900V rom!!!!

(Windows use simg2img https://github.com/KinglyWayne/simg2img_win)
(Linux use a package manager to install simg2img)
Unzip the G900V KitKat Files to a folder, and then:
( use the simg2img command to CONVERT the IMG.EXT4 system & cache files to .IMG format )
use simg2img on cache.img.ext4 also ( *** temporarily rename it to system.ext4.img)
put the ext4 files in the same folder as simg2img.exe
open terminal or CMD prompt, then type:
simg2img system.img.ext4 system.img
simg2img cache.img.ext4 cache.img
then copy the system.img & cache.img to your INTERNAL SD card
next run these commands from linux terminal ( or Windows CMD prompt ):
adb shell
su
stop
dd if=/sdcard/cache.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/cache bs=10485760
dd if=/sdcard/system.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system bs=10485760
**** Then exit the adb shell by typing exit (enter) 2 times to get back to command prompt, then
adb reboot recovery
let recovery do its thing, then when it reboots and is on the samsung boot screen
quickly do another
adb reboot recovery
then do a wipe data (Factory reset), then reboot
( I downloaded these APKS manually on PC, & copied to SD. WIFI will work on phone, but not DATA until you fix APN! )
install TR.APK ( Towelroot 3.0 ) and ROOT your phone https://towelroot.com/tr.apk
install stericson busybox-free ( found it here: https://www.apk4fun.com/apk/6139/ )

install SElinuxToggle.apk from XDA to be able to change SElinux to Permissive - google it
install SuperSu from playstore, upgrade binary & disable knox - Normal Mode ( as theres no custom recovery )
install ViperFX & ViperXHifi ( The BEST AUDIO MOD by far! Nothing can touch this! ) - google it
install a file manager with root capabilites: Rename the ContextProvider.apk in /system/priv-app/ folder to ContextProvider.apk.old
you should have ROOTED G900V normal KK 4.4.4 rom with XPOSED & Viper4Android Audio
Everything should work, EXCEPT for the FINGERPRINT SCANNER
MOBILE HOTSPOT works!

If you are feeling ADVENTUROUS, you could experiment using Lollipop or Marshmallow G900V system/cache IMGs instead,
following the instructions above ( AT YOUR OWN RISK of course )
You would need to GOOGLE to see if the version of G900V can be rooted first, though.
This may or may not work using the S903VL Factory Test KERNEL 4.4.2 ( BOOT.IMG ) with LL/MM - IDK.
IDK if flashing the ORIGINAL STOCK MM 6.01 KERNEL ( BOOT.IMG ) after ROOTING would give better performance,
or end up causing loss of ROOT.
Any Guinea Pigs out there willing to try? lol.
link to G900V stock fimwares: https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-G900V/
(I did flash the MODEM.BIN of the Original SM-903VL MM 6.01 by extracting it from the AP-md5 file, making a .TAR of the modem.bin,
and flashing it using ODIN AP mode. It appears the MM modem is faster than the 4.4.2 Factory test version BTW )

I have posted a way to get ROOT on SM-S903VL and convert it to G900V KK 4.4.4.
I have been using it for awhile now and it works great. ROOTED, XPOSED, MOBILE HOTSPOT, etc WORKS.
Just the FIngerPrint scannner doesnt work ( due to mismatched KERNEL / SYSTEM ROM versions )
ALL ELSE IS GOOD!

Keep in mind that I don't have this device nor had provided those instructions but, some of those links are outdated as well as not being correctly formatted.

Hey there,
So I have twrp installed and tried to flash xposed such resulted in a bootloop, tried to install a stock ROM giving me an error, after that I accidentally deleted my system folder when trying too wipe data. I do not have a PC at my disposal, any ideas on what to do? Tried again installing a stock ROM but it gives me an error. I can give more information if needed.
The file seems to be a tar.md5 file but again I do not have Odin at my disposal.
Can someone please help? I really need the phone working.
Edit: if someone else add a backup of the system files would I be able to flash it?
If you can open TWRP, I suggest you to flash the Xposed uninstaller : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
I had the same, my device stay on "Samsung Galaxy Core Prime LTE", I opened TWRP with Home + Power + Volume Up, flashed Xposed uninstaller, and now, my device works fine
I hope I helped you

Hi, I'm A Rooted Galaxy Grand Prime (SM-G531H) User. I Want To Install Xposed Framework In My Phone. Is There Any Safe Trick To Do It?
Twrp Enabled
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/material-design-xposed-installer-t3137758/page208 download this (you have to go to the first page). When you install , give it root permission and go to the Samsung tab in it and press install wiat for it it will automatically install exposed. Download always keep it ready in you phone if anything happens e.g. bootlooped flash this file https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24499762635998273 (this is the uninstaller) and so you won't need to flash stock room if anything happens. Always make a backup in twrp so you won't lose any thing. I'm not responsible for anything that happens if you do everything blindly. But I'll be ready to help if anything goes wrong or if you need any info about exposed modules for grand prime. (Ignore my English because not in a mood to write so didn't see what am I writing)

That's the same thing I mentioned above but with an easier method
I can boot into Samsung recovery and can boot into Download mode. I have tried factory resetting the tablet. I have tried reflashing the stock image with Odin 3.09 in Download but everything I try just fails. It comes up with a message in stock Samsung Recovery that says:

mine also has the same problem, another problem is my OEM is locked. So I cannot install twrp.
Hello there, I`ve bought a vietnamese Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2019.

I am not an informed authority whatsoever but I did have quite a few close calls with my same device and I repeatedly managed to get it going. That must hurt to hear without a clear step by step specific with links instructions I know but let me not mislead you either. What good is that?! Well I can refer you to some of the resources I had luck with , it’s been a few years since too so I will go look and see if I have anything concrete , off the top of my head I want to say thanks to magisk the bootloader never did get unlocked , and I only ran the boot.img thru the app and then had my tarp ready to flash right after, be persistent I must have mangled and recovered over two dozen times here and there and again ambiguous encouragement empty as it is I can say from my experience that more than a few things that worked ended up being very simple but minor factors such as unchecking the auto reboot and flashing the twrp right after , another saving grace came in the form of a few die hard twrp flushable zips that enabled simple functions while in twrp bc I remember I would get as far as twrp and then loose the bootable os until I had reflashed the correct boot from inside twrp and I recall dmverity can be mitigated with a zip flashed inside twrp , now that sounds great but only just the right twrp would allow for this flashing feature at all so again hit and miss , I’ll go look at some of those files and review before I make any specific suggestions which would drive me nuts but if your lucky I was actually just noticing I still had an old custom rom that I had cooked up with one of those command line rom kitchens, so standby for real info but for now off hand …
Androidfilehost.com was a killer source of roms and where I found the working twrp
Back then samfirm was already depreciated but still worked and it was the fastest around but

Jonny boy , again knowing I don’t really know I want to say your good to go as I flashed all manner of rom from all over but I do remember something about I think the us version that seemed XAR less appealing I think bc it was a little more locked down but you would do well of course to refer to that list of the country codes for the roms obv, and as far as twrp I found mine on that android file host but on that same site was an identical looking version that once inside couldn’t flash or mount things properly , see what the trick was , was once armed with a twrp flashable zip i would wipe everything and include the dmverity disabled and whatever else , the patched boot.img And so if your careful even if you flash the wrong twrp first you can inside still flash that other one and reboot to it , my custom rom is nothing to get interested in all it were was a trimmed down stock , tho I did manage later to get some neat custom boot animations , I’ll check out my old files and return sooner this time
