Sorry, trough Tapatalk changelog was not visible

how about camera api 2 ?

First thing after flashing 5.1 I noticed is that they fixed device locking bug. So on 5.1 if you lock device, screen doesn't reacts to touches anymore. I think that user interface is faster than in 5.0. Last thing which I'm worried about is launcher reloading. I didn't see it for now. So maybe they fixed it too.
But I need days to say that this upadte is good. But for now it looks that it's way better than 5.0 update was.
Everyone who hasitate about upgrade. Do it right know. You will probably like your Xperia Z1 again.

Installed. Seems really faster than 5.0.1

Hi, I've made pre rooted firmware(included superSU, Dualrecovery and Xposed) using this ftf. with PRFCreator.
Flashed it yesterday. So far all works great on my z1 c6903. Thanks :good:

can i flash with the C6903_Lollipop 5.1.1_GLOBAL-LTA.ftf on a xperia z1 t-mobile NL(Netherlands) device. Do I have to flash it to unbrand it and do I need to install flash drivers?, before I am flashing the ftf file in Flashtool? What happens if it's fail can I rollback to the official/orginal firmware 5.0.2, recorvery mode?

Yes u can broh... U don't need to downgrade your fw before flash it.
Just Flash with flashtool and its never failed

I have C6903 with T-Mobile firmware. It was network locked and I unlocked it. I guess flashing this firmware wouldn't lock the phone again?
I need to flash it with flashtool, right? Any step by step tutorials? I kinda lost my way into this...
Thanks.

Sorry for the following stupid question.

Sorry, I don't know. Did a little searching, but nothing obvious jumped out. Maybe someone else will chime in. I can see that they have different customization numbers and different sales items; I am inclined to think that sales item is less important, but customization could affect the modem or something important.

Still 4.2.2 I guess, since it's only a very small update (from 10.3.1.A.0.244 to 10.3.1.A.1.10).
I think it's 4.2.2 because the '3' in the firmware number didn't change like from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2

If it's Honami/Xperia Z Ultra UI already then Sony must be pretty serious about their development process.
If anyone with a rooted C6603 wants to check it out, you can simply change your customization number to 1271-0707 and install the update through Sony PC Companion / Sony Update Service / Sony Bridge for Mac. See [GUIDE] Download ANY firmware customization from Sony & create an FTF with Flashtool

First observation: horrible Orange boot logo
Second observation: No significant differences.
1. Carrier name in notification bar
2. MASSIVE amount of Orange bloatware
3. A few new wallpapers and changed default theme lockscreen wallpapers.
Because of the low revision number (last number in version) I suspect this is a version with minor bugfixes and adjustments exclusively for Orange FR.
Not worth updating for, especially if you don't root since it really has a gigantic amount of unremovable bloatware.
New lockscreen default wallpaper for Amber theme:

Once again, no significant changes, probably Orange-specific.
I expect the next major update to arrive in October or November and it'll bring the new H2 system style (Z Ultra/Honami). After that we'll be updated to 4.3 near the end of 2013. (Personal estimates people!)

Hi.
I believe you can almost root it like you did with v.244.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386405
[ how-to ]
Download the three files from the download section below
open FlashTool and flash the XperiaZ_C660X_KernelOnly_10.3.A.0.423_Generic_NL.ftf - 7.12 MB file, this is JUST the kernel of an older firmware which was rootable
now once flashing is done reboot device and connect to PC in usb debuggin mode
CLOSE FLASHTOOL <<< VVVIMP STEP
extract the file DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit.zip to root directory on c:\
execute runme_ file corresponding to your OS on desktop PC, this will execute a SPECIAL version of my easy rooting toolkit <<< VVVIMP STEP
the above step is crucial! if you use any older version of the toolkit then IT WILL NOT WORK!
after rooting is over the device will restart
you can verify if device is rooted by checking for SuperSU app (it is the newest version)
once thats done now power down device and open FlashTool again
now flash XperiaZ_C660X_KernelOnly_10.3.1.A.0.244_BE.ftf - 7.17 MB file to get back to the true kernel for the firmware
thats it after flashing is done just disconnect and power on device and enjoy rooted phone!

Instead of using XperiaZ_C660X_KernelOnly_10.3.1.A.0.244_BE.tft you can make your own KernelOnly of the new ROM using FlashTool.
Thanks a lot mate, but I just reinstalled an old fw back to get the root access

Not necessary if you downloaded the full FTF of Ambroos. You can simply flash the original kernel again from that FTF (just exclude everything else and don't wipe anything).

Flashed using the latest flashtool, lost my camera. Just a black screen. Other apps declare they cannot connect to camera... trying to figure out what went wrong. Hopefully it didn't brake my TA.
Edit: I am sure I flashed danw_oz's TA onto my device. I have no TA backup. I think I am ****ed.

No, your TA will be fine. When I upgraded it force closed the camera twice then after it was fine.
I am having another look at this file, because the FTF creation has changed slightly from the Xperia Z.
It shows an update on Sony Companion but not OTA. I am waiting for OTA coz I don't want to lose my root.

This is my first ever FTF flash on the Z1. It was a telstra branded phone.
I will note that I un-ticked 'data' under the flashtool wipe options on my initial flash of your FTF. I preferred to keep my settings intact, but that wasn't a deal breaker.
No matter what I did (re-flashing, rebooting, changing apps, etc), camera was broken for a couple of hours... I was getting a bit panicky.
I decided to let PC Companion to fix it by clicking 'your device is up to date' and in the pop-up selecting 'repair my phone'. It picked up as a generic 4.3 device, re-downloaded the 14.2 firmware and installed it. Part of that process is a factory wipe. Camera works now and I have firmware from Sony server. It is possible a full wipe would have achieved the same result, but I was looking for the most reliable, first try, answer.
Thanks for the FTF, though. I now have an unbranded 4.3 Z1.
flash rom
I have a Telstra branded Z1, so if I flash generic stock Australian rom and change the software id to match will I still receive OTA updates like it was from the factory. Phone details are : model number: c6903 build number 14.1.g.2.259 software id : 1277-2878 r3a . thanks in advance
When I flash UK-Vodafone firmware SuperiorAuto can capture 20MP but in Europe firmware can 8.3MP in SuperiorAuto mod,why is there difference?

mmm I think I may give it another 2 weeks and see if our slack network provider pushes the update. They're generally about 3 weeks behind the world. If nothing, then I may just give this a crack.
The question is, can I hold out for 2 weeks??
I see some FTF's have 20mp auto with the camera. Is this 20 or the normal 8mp?

It's not worth waiting , this update makes your phone really fly, and better battery, camera is slightly better, I don't seem to have 20MP, but am sure it will be ported to work soon

I purchased a Telstra branded Z1 C6903. I can confirm after installing generic stock Australian firmware that PC companion recognises my phone as a generic C6903. I would presume that OTA will be the same. If not, I know I can always get future official updates through PC companion anyway.

Does any one know where to grab the ftf file for the sgp511?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I also am looking for the sgp511 ftf file
I wil try to make one following the instructions on xda.
I have made a FTF according to this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334653
- Device: SGP511
- Build number: 17.1.A.2.36
- Android version: 4.4.2
- Customization version, region, branding: Didn't understand how to find out this stuff exactly. Looked in the service menu etc., but there were different numbers...
It's a normal SGP511 without carrier branding, and it is a model for the countries IT,FR,EN,PL,NL,DE, so I suppose it's kind of European firmware version. Or global???
- Download link: http://ul.to/eqlrc7oc
Can you please upload that to somewhere else as I can't download from there (says too big for free users)

Would be REALLY great if more Taiwanese / Chinese users could confirm that the new .55 firmware resolves the touch problem!
Because other users then knew that they only have to wait until the .55 firmware is released for their region! (And must not exchange their devices.)
@hasenbein1966
Would you also create a FTF file for the .55 firmware for model SGP511, that'll be much appreciated , cheers

How do you get to the idea that I have the .55 firmware?

And this is the first time ever anyone claims to have gotten an update at all. No one knows whether it's true.

That's not generic UK. I've tried it and the cda is different and it comes with French apps installed.

I'm currently using the other UK generic but my warranty is void because I'm not using.the correct firmware on my phone. That's why I need it.
The other UK generic isn't UK generic it's french generic.

Thanks for this iRimas
this is the real UK Generic then. What's the difference to the FR Generic?
do you also flash it through flashtool as normal, as my bootloader is locked.
Thanks
Probably very little differences such as bookmarks and pre-installed apps. Also obviously the default language
Yes just flash using flashtool. As it's official it will work perfectly with a locked bootloader.

I flashed this last night. English UK is the default language and jeux gameloft icon is not there. It's exactly what I'd expect a UK rom to be. I'm very happy with it.

Guys, Please bare with me if i am asking a stupid question as I am new to sony devices so have a lot of confusion. My device has a 3 Firmware on it but I want to get the UK Generic one.
I have downloaded the file posted in this thread and would want to know what exactly can be the cons of flashing it?
will i lose any DRM keys or X reality or anything by doing that or is it totally safe?.
Also if i backup all my data using sony's backup app, would I be able to restore it after flashing the Generic file.

As far as i know its totally Safe. after you flashing if you think something will go wrong you can use PCC and repair as well . it means it is safe to flash . you wont loose anything.
Thank you very much.

Debranding an Zperia Z2
There is something wrong with this file linked (D6503_17.1.A.2.55_EURO_LTE.ftf), it may be corrupt. I flashed it to my Xperia Z2 to de-brand from EE but it sent it into a boot loop instead of restarting. I Managed to get flash tool to work in debug mode again by by plugging in the usb cable and flashed D6503_23.5.A.0.570_RU.ftf which I found on the net as a generic uk Android marshmallow 6.0.1 update and all was well again. After that the next update came from Xperia Companion updating software in the normal way. It is possible that I did something wrong. If you are debranding a UK Z2 just find the latest Marshmallow 6.0.1 update file (D6503_17.1.A.2.55_EURO_LTE.ftf) and flash it to your phone . You don't need to unlock the boot loader of need to root the phone. I'm too new to the forum it won't let me post links to the marshmallow files sorry you will have to find them yourself.
Instructions here:
Pre-requisites
Download and install Flashtool
Enable USB Debugging on phone. Head over to Settings>> Developer options
Enable Unknown sources on the phone by navigating to Settings>> Security
Steps to Debrand Sony Xperia Z2
Step-1: Ensure that you have installed all necessary drivers for Sony Xperia Z2 on the computer. You may do this by installing PC Companion or Sony Update Services (SUS)
Also connect the Xperia Z2 to the computer before starting the process to download USB and ADB drivers. You will find the necessary drivers once Flashtool is installed in the following location, C:Flashtooldrivers
Step-2: Download the following FTF file, which will debrand Xperia Z2
Download link: Xperia Z2 D6503 Generic UK 17.1.A.2.55 (1282-0226)
This is UK generic firmware and will work on any D6503 model and provide several language options. You may download FTF link according to your region
Step-3: Move the downloaded FTF file in C:Flashtoolfirmwares folder
Step-4: Open Flashtool on the computer (Click on the lightning bolt symbol and select Flashmode then click OK
Step-5: Select the downloaded firmware in the left column.
Note: If you want to keep all existing apps and date, ensure that Data is not selected. Press the Flash button
Step-6: You should see Flashtool is "Preparing files for sharing"
When the prompt appears, connect the Xperia Z2 to the computer and switch off the phone. Press and hold Volume Down button while plugging the USB cable into the phone
Step-7: The installation process should begin now
Step-8: When the 'Flashing finished' message appears in Flashtool, remove the phone from the computer and restart it. This process will take a few minutes
That's it. The Xperia Z2 should now be debranded to UK generic firmware.

Generic DE (1279-6978)
Just a quick question, if my phone is rooted, do I still get to see updates through the Update Center and PC Companion ?

Yes, you'll recieve update but if you do one, you'll loose your root access after!
- What's the difference between this one and the generic DE one in the other topic?
- And to confirm, if I flash this I will still get updates on pc companion?
- This is with root included?
Sorry I'm new in the z1 compact flashing. Used to flash a lot of roms with my s2.

- IMO no diferrences
- Probably yes, but to the next version
- No. You have to use new root exploit from this thread. It works.

Generally yes, but not necessarily. My phone was still rooted after OTA upgrade from .757 to .108 firmware.

Most probably none (or only minor, maybe another customization), it seems more a matter of following posting guidelines - but common guidelines are highly overrated anyway ....
Thank you!

Just flashed it. What a difference with 757. That build was horrible! Everything is so smooth again, finally!

Anywhere one can check if this FW is available for nordic users?

You're right, root can (in some cases) survive to OTA upgrade

Mine lost root after OTA upgrade from .757 to .108
But thankfully towelroot still works
That package include Polish language??
Generic RU firmware without bloatware is better that this? What is bloatware??
@up
- Yes,
- Some bw from google (Gry, G+, Filmy, Ksiazki, Kiosk), Evernote, Box, TrackID (&TV), Wisepilot, Path, Video Unlimited, PS Mobile. Some bw you can unistall directly (f.e. Facebook, Box, Track ID, Wisepilot, Path) without root.
TrackID is needed app
Genetic RU also have Polish?? It's stock firmware which I can install without rooting my phone? I don't need to have google apps and fb apps. How I can delete it from Euro firmware? Which app alow to delete it?
