Yes , just flash in recovery
It wont kill the already installed dual-recovery, will it?
First things first : thank you!
Nevertheless, I have a question. Do I just have to flash the zip file under recovery, or flash the zip file then the other file (ftf) in flashtool ?
Moreover, which recovery is installed? Or will it keep the already installed one (dual recovery coming with my installed 5.0)?

Yup, we need more information.
In the youtube link, it sais flash either one you like, FTF or ZIP, but thats contrary to what we normally do.
Usually we flash the SONY FTF and then overwrite part of its code with a rooted .zip file, installed via recovery.
Anyway, awaiting more input before i shoot the zip into my phone.
I flash with dual recovery, my bootloader is locked and my z1 is blicked, I cant into flashmode or reset, and led don't turn on. Help please any method to return to live my z1 thanks :3
can't mount system as rw
can anyone confirm this?
Flashed the non-Rooted FTF in flashtool, so running 5.1.1 unrooted. Can't root via flashtool as it always fails, how do you install a custom recovery when running 5.1.1 so I can install the pre-rooted version?
Cheers
I solve the hard brick, I follow the next steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2646405 , and I try install again but I got same result, and again I did test point and instal stock firmware.
The firmware don't work
There's like 3-4 z1 models maybe yours is different than the posted here and needs different firmware, what's your model?

Has someone successfully flashed this ROM with only the zip, and kept root and recovery without having to flash SuperSU and NUT recovery before rebooting?

I haven't.
My other question is: I am currently charging. Did all of you lose the "estimated time to full charge: xx h:xx min" on the lockscreen or is it just me;
Stimated time to full charge is lost in 5.1.1?

HK version
I lived in Poland and I always use HK version because is first with update. Works normal sometimes have few unless app. In every official rom you have all laungages support
Required:
- Flashtool in the latest version from: http://flashtool.net
- DualRecovery by NUT as installer.zip: http://nut.xperia-files.com (Download the correct one for your device and at least version 2.8.7+!)
- Root on 23.0.F.1.74 (Download) for example with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/giefroot-rooting-tool-cve-2014-4322-t3011598
Featurelist:
- SuperSU integrated
- DualRecovery by NUT integrated (2.8.7)
Can be used on locked and unlocked bootloader.
Firmware File:
- D6633_23.1.1.E.0.1_Customized-MEA.flashable.zip
The Flashable.zip i've created with the mighty tool PRFCreator by zxz0O0.
Installation/Update (short) guide:
0. Downgrade to the firmware 23.0.F.1.74 and root it (with giefroot)
0.1. Install the LockedDualRecovery by NUT with the installer.zip (install.bat)
1. Put the downloaded update file (ROM.zip) on your device. I recommend you to put it directly on the device.
2. Boot into the recovery (While rebooting -> when the info LED flashs -> press shortly the VOL button for the Recovery you prefer)
(On Recovery you may create a twrp/cwm backup of your device if you get any issues on updating process!)
3. Flash the ROM update file (.zip) with "install zip".
4. Wipe cache and dalvik cache (perhaps under advanced).
5. Reboot to system.
You may have to wait some minutes on the first boot because of initializing system for first time (optimizing apps etc.).
Special Thanks to:
[NUT] (DualRecovery and his efforts!)
zxz0O0 (giefroot rooting tool, PRFCreator and his efforts!)

Thank you @waleedsq81 for providing this firmware!
But please advice me.... I'm already on rooted 23.0.F.1.74 with LOCKED bootloader :good: and I want to flash the 5.0.2 lollipop firmware you're providing or a supposedly 'prerooted' russian customized version I downloaded yesterday, but my question is that if I had to upgrade to .96 kitkat firmware prior to flash this one or can I flash it directly from the .74 one?? ............ and secondly: do you know if by installing your firmware (or the russian one) will the flashing operation open or unlock the bootleader inadvertently?? (I don't want to, of course).
Thank you in advance, cheers :fingers-crossed:

I try to get into recovery using the hardware button but seems not possible.
Booting into recovery using NDR Utils is fine though.
What I do > Power off phone > Power on > Wait until Green led lights up > Press repeatedly volume down button
Nothing happens even if I repeat the process and press volume up instead of volume down button.
What seems the problem ?

Thank you very much @waleedsq81 you're the man!.... and I can safely confirm to all: if anyone is already on rooted kitkat .74 firmware, you can simply and straight go ahead and flash via recovery this pre-rooted MEA firmware... root is maintained as well as the bootloader locked in this latest lollipop build, just follow to the letter the given instructions.
Is it possible to upgrade from .96 to save the time going back to .74? I am already rooted just need to add recovery.

No, the xperia firmwares for 5.1 are not due until at least August.
I've just created a pre-rooted zip using the Customised IT ftf and PRF Creator with the latest SuperSU and [NUT]'s latest dual recovery. I've only just flashed it myself and I'm waiting for the first boot to complete. If it's OK, I'll upload to Google Drive.

Any news on the download?
I still don't know why people post these. You can download the right one for your phone with XperiFirm.
If you flash the wrong firmware you can effect your baseband and each ROM also has different settings depending on your region. Like some might use "LTE" and some might use "4G". There's also other changes such as if fast dormancy is enabled or disabled, so you really should wait and install the correct ROM for your device.

Through recovery, it is pre-rooted and has the latest recoveries as well. It is the customised IT firmware, so it is for EURO-LTE and has been running on my UK C6903 for nearly 24 hours without an issue so far!

Yeah, check out this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-creating-rooted-update-package-t2933155
In short, what you will have to do:
1. Go back to kitkat.
2. Root and install recovery.
3. Create a flashable zip with prfcreator (tutorial in the link).
4. Paste the flashable zip to your sd card and flash it via recovery.
The process is not so hard, just follow the instructions. If you want, I can make you a flashable zip and post a download link, but I won't be able to to it before tonight when I get home :/
Ok, thanks
This seems rather complicated. I also have a xperia zr, on that i just flashed the recovery via flashtool and then flashed the superSu zip via recovery, that gave me root.
Isn't there any other simpler way for xperia z2.

You may try this: http://techjeep.com/2015/04/04/how-...xperia-z2-running-lollipop-locked-bootloader/
Im not sure if it's going to work, I have not tried it yet.
I have also heard of another way with an app called Kingroot or something, but rumor has it that this method sends your IMEI to a company in China or Japan or something.
The safest way is to downgrade to KitKat, root + install recovery and then upgrade to rooted lollipop from recovery. (Tutorial in my last post and again, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-creating-rooted-update-package-t2933155)
Hmm....ok.
Looks like i need to do some read and try the previous method. It seems safe for the device.
I used to run CM12 though, can i flash the zip from that itself or is it necessary i go back to kit-kat.

The zip file has to be flashed from recovery. If you have recovery at the moment, you can flash the zip. If you are running CM12 at your device now, you do have recovery, so just do a backup of your data, flash the zip file created with prfcreator and wipe cache/dalvik.
If you don't have recovery, you have to downgrade to Kitkat in order to install recovery.

---------- Post added at 07:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:52 PM ----------
What's important is step number 6 in the tutorial: "6. Uncheck all the Include options [ ], we don't need them, we will flash them with Flashtool after the update. I think it's still safer to flash kernel, baseband, boot and other system critical parts of the firmware from Flashtool.
(But if you want to include them anyway then you can skip part 11 and start your phone normally.)"
If you are at CM12, and choose to NOT include the options he is talking about in step 6, you HAVE to do step 11 aswell.
If you choose to include them, then you skip step 11 and reboot phone normally

I am running 5.0.2.
I tried in the past to flash, through recovery, the last firmware that was released before this. I downloaded a zip from one of the threads, and installed it through recovery, but after rebooting, I was still on 5.0.2.
If I download this and flash it in recovery, should it update my phone to this firmware. Or would it be better to flash through the flashtool? (to not delete the data, not to check the data in the wipe window?)
Thanks
