Hi,
I'm currently running B5.9.1 on my H60-L12 but I have notification problems with whatsapp and gmail.
When the phone go to deep sleep these apps doesnt' receive the notification.
With emui 3.0 I had the same problem but I resolved using the method founded by the user palasix deleting the file /data/cust/xml/gsm_app_list.xml.
With emui 3.1 this trick don't work.
Any one found a solution for the notification under emui 3.1 ?
Regards
Same here! When I open WhatsApp, it updates, but no notifications when it's not in focus.
Tried these fixes to no avail (except the push fix app):

If messages are still taking too long to reach your phone
We recommend that you:
Reboot the phone (Turn it OFF then ON).
Try a different connection. If you are connected to Wi-Fi, try Mobile Data or vice versa.
Reset app preferences by going to Settings > Apps > Menu Button > Reset app preferences.
Make sure to leave your phone plugged into a power source (to prevent power saving mode from activating) when connected to Wi-Fi while a mobile data connection is unavailable.
Log out from WhatsApp Web by going to WhatsApp > Menu Button > WhatsApp Web > Logout from all computers.
Try to install Push Notifications Fixer and see if it helps.
If you are often connected to Wi-Fi, check your Wi-Fi sleep policy (Settings > Wi-Fi > Menu Button > Advanced > Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep) and make sure it is set to Always.
Delete and reinstall WhatsApp.
Uninstall any task killers. These will hinder the app from receiving messages when you are not in the app.
Launch the Hangouts app, press Menu Button, and sign out of all your accounts (tap the account, scroll down and select Sign out). Then re-launch Hangouts and sign back in to your accounts.
Try updating to the latest WhatsApp through official FAQ WhatsApp website. Also make sure WhatsApp is protected.
I have another problem which I could not find solution after updating to EMUI 3.1. I could not change the notification sound in WhatsApp. Anyone got solution?

Yes whatsapp and gmail are set as protected but notifications stop when phone goes in deep sleep. If you install an app as system instead you cannot see the app in the protected menu, but the result is the same... no notificatio when phone is in standby

Try NOT to install whatsapp as system app, and set it as protected. Also set it in Startup manager. Just in case this will help, protect Hangouts as well. Some google apps could cause trouble in Lollipop notifications, if restricted. But these problems are not common among the user of Honor 6. Some might have, some don't.
I still have problem cannot change notification sound in whatsapp.

As i said before the first thing I have do is a standard installation (no system app), with all enabled by the menu (protected app, notification, startup) but I had the problem.
Unfortunally this problem is quite common not only on honor devices but also with other Huawei devices...

Yeah, you are right, with EMUI 3.1 there are some unresolved problems about notifications in some Huawei devices. What I meant by 'not common' is that the symptom might not always the same for all Honor devices. My Honor 6 (H60 L12 EMUI 3.1 Lollipop 5.1.1) always get notifications normally, only rarely get delayed whatsapp notifications. But I could not change sound notification in whatsapp, do you have this problem?
Since the symptoms are not always the same, it could be due to settings/bugs in Lollipop and EMUI 3.1.
I got an update today (around 70mb) which solve the problem cannot change sound notification in whatsapp.
Build number: EMUI3.1_H60-L12_5.9.16
Same problem even with the stable B532....
Does anybody has a solution for the notification problem under lollipop ?
This isssue is not related to the protection of apps or wifi/mobile net settings.
and I don't why it happens mainly on H60-L12.
It happens with all apps using google play services even if they are protected.
I noted the same for instance with telegram on emiui 3.1.
On emiui 3.0 the issue was solved deleting the file gsm_app_list.xml in data/cust/xml
but such solution does not work anymore on emui 3.1.
Now we need to find a new solution, any new idea?
For people experiencing issues with notificationm here full instructions to follow:
First of all verify following settings on your phone:
1) Protected app in settings. If apps are not protected they are suspended when the display is turned off
2) App to boot in settings. If apps are not selected they are turned off by default after a reboot of phone
3) Wifi settings must be "always on"
4) Mobile data settings must be "always active"
If you did all these settings and notification are not coming you can solve by following instructions to apply with root rights using a root file explorere like ES explorer.
Attention: if you follow these instructions wrongly you could SW brick the phone. I'm not responsabile of any damage to your phone.
On honor 6 H60-L02 and H60-L12 with Kitkat installed:
1) Delete the following file gsm_app_list.xml from data/cust/xml
2) Reboot the phone
On honor 6 H60-L02 and H60-L12 with Lollipop installed (tested on B316):
1) Delete the following file gsm_app_list.xml from data/cust/xml
2) Open the file local.pro at paht data/cust/prop and comment (add simbol # at the beginning of a row) following rows.
#ro.config.hw_optb=156
#ro.gsm.systemui.carriericon=true
#gsm.fastdormancy.mode=3
3) Reboot the phone
I don't know if it works also on other H6 models. In case it works please leave a message specifying the model you verified.
A thanks is always appreciated

/data directory is empty on my L02 (Lollipop B532 and Emui 3.1).
However I found gms_app_list.xml and local.prop files in other directories (i.e. /cust/unicom/cn/xml/gms_app_list.xml and /cust/unicom/cn/prop/local.prop), but I don't think these are the files I have to delete/modify. I'm confused

I can not help you so much on H60-L02 because I have L12 model.
I know people applied the same fix on L02 but if I'm not wrong for L02 there are two different kind of SW rom and I don't know on which rom they applied.
Normally files under /cust/unicom generally are mounted under /data for L02
it is strange your folder data is empty.

I used Odin v3.07 too, but you need pass firmware a first time, don't close Odin, wait S3 do all boot process, on the end of first pass, Odin Will release the checkbox, so you set S3 in download mode and pass firmware again with Phone Bootloader Update checked.
Let me know.

Messaging dependent on BadgeProvider
Try enabling "BadgeProvider" application from Settings->Application manager->All
I had same problem, later I turn on the disabled app one by one and found that the "BadgeProvider" should be enabled to use the messaging with bubble style.

It's not the same problem. In this case, the message occurs with nothing of user configured yet. Appears when you are choosing the language after you have made a full wipe.
I will fix the topic's images soon.

Note that I had exactly this problem, and re-enabling BadgeProvider resolved the issue immediately thanks a lot.
I had as usual been messing around with Titanium Backup to try and freeze any system apps that in my ignorant state, thought were not needed. I freezed BadgeProvider and after this I started getting random "Messaging has stopped" errors. I could not even open the Messaging log, although the phone kept receiving new texts and adding a notification in the taskbar.
After unfreezing BadgeProvider from TB, it worked immediately.

I have changed the CSC to the correct UK Generic BTU (UK):
1.Just type *#272*Device IMEI# at Phone dial pad.
2.Select the CSC that you want.
3.Click Install.
4.Phone will be rebooted by itself.
5.That’s all.
This did not seem towork for me, on UK Vodafone it just sais "unknown command".
Where can I find the CSC screen, I cant semm to be able to find it.
Thanks

Reboot

I am getting this error message for my S4 after upgrading a ROM to a new version. Will I have to do the bootloader option, as I have tried the clearing the cache option and deleting the files.
EDIT - fixed it, I just deleted all the files in there. It cleared the text messages but its ok.:good:
Edit again. It kinda works. messaging app loaded. but crashes when you go to create a new message and its doesn't read the contacts
Ok seem to have got it working for me, I am applying a new updated of a ROM, so not sure how others are getting the error.
What I had to do before the update, was to reset all the perfereneces under Settings > App Manager > All, left button to bring up extra options and reset all apps. Then I applied the update.
Seems to me the apps get confused when applying the update, and the DB's for the apps crash.
Damn was working for a while, then went back in to messaging and it crashed again.
My Messaging Problem Resolved
I HAD SIMILAR ERROR MESSAGE " Unfortunately messaging has stopped". This forum helped me to resolve. it. Would like to share what I did
Go to Settings->Application manager->All then enable "BadgeProvider". restart mobile.
It will solve the problem. thanks to this forum.

Unfortunately, messaging has stopped
Hi xda devs,
I rooted my samsung galaxy grand yesterday and installed cm-12 (cm-12-20150222-UNOFFICIAL-i9082). But I am getting the error whenever I try to read any sms or write a new sms via messaging in built app. Error- "Unfortunately, messaging has stopped"
Can you please suggest?
Thanks in advance!
If you rooted your phone, anyone, and you deleted or renamed some system apps to stop them loading then you could face problems with the SMS Messaging app.
Just make sure the system app "WebViewGoogle" is left intact (in the folder data/system/app)
If you deleted it then put it back in, if you renamed it (e.g. from "WebViewGoogle.apk" to "WebViewGoogle.apk.old") then name it back to "WebViewGoogle.apk"
This app must be intact for the Messaging app to work properly (at least on my Asus Zenfone running Android 5.1) otherwise messaging will crash with the error
"unfortunately messaging has stopped" (unfortunate for me!)
I messed up my messaging app
Hi, i was getting smart today and uninstalled system messaging app using Titanium Backup. Then installed a new messaging app( CM12.1 messaging app) system start giving message "Unfortunately, Messages has stoped".
I also restored orignal backup of app using TitaniumBackup.
Still same problem. What should i do now?

Some one reported that xinternal SD is working.
This type of list will help all. What do u say??
Any one who got a module working can report here.
I read the comments youtube adway was working,,I didn't tested it on my moto e,will report and update the status soon..

Thanks mate for reporting. Even i had the lag issue. All apps on sd disappeared and a notification of 250 mb storage or something like that poped up and i went back to KK. I'll flash lollipop tomorrow. And report it here.
some modules that work good right now:
http://www.xda-developers.com/xposed-modules-to-install-right-now-on-lollipop/
App Settings [Lollipop Alternative by rovo89] [1]:
This was by far one of my favorite Xposed modules back when I wasn’t running Lollipop, and certainly the one I missed the most. With this baby you can change DPI per app (which allows you to keep whatever DPI you want on the rest of the SystemUI), as well as the application’s font scale, immersive mode, RAM pinning, and insistent notifications for those that don’t want to miss their valentine’s texts (and lose their heads over it).
Xposed GEL Settings [1][2]:
For those fans of the “pure Google experience”, this module can let you further customize your Google Launcher by letting you hide the search bar or individual applications, change grid, icon and text sizes, remove labels and more. It doesn’t make it quite as flexible as Nova, but it’s definitely a good module to have for those that love the Google integration of their launcher, and the cleanness and optimization of it.
RootCloak [1]:
Some apps detect root and either prevent access or limit your features as a preemptive method for security. While it is understandable some might want to further fortify their application, us XDA tinkerers can be left out of services due to this. This module hides root for the apps you choose, simple as that. We can’t specifically tell you what to use this module for, but if you’ve had problems like this before, look no further.
Advanced Power Menu+ [1]: This module lets you customize the power menu of your phone to add or remove items in any order you want. There are extra reboot options (soft boot, recovery boot, bootloader), a screenshot option, a quick-dial to call whoever, some connection toggles and a handy flashlight. I always have advanced power menus on my phones, and an Xposed module alternative is much easier than flashing additional zip’s. If this doesn’t work for you, the new Lollipop Power Menu module might.
XToast [1]:
This was one of my favorites back then, as it lets you add the Toast notification’s app origin into the message box by adding the corresponding app’s icon. That in itself makes it useful, but you can also customize said icon and add the name, or change the toast style back to older versions. The duration, transparency and where it appears also can be chosen. Basically, toasts are at your control to make them more informative and personal. You won’t know how awesome it is until you try it!
Lollipop Notification Ticker [1]:
This one was meant to restore the ticker on the status bar that informed you of the contents of your latest notifications. It was made before Xposed for Lollipop came out, which was a daring move that worked… partially. According to reports, it breaks heads-up notifications alongside fixing the ticker. If you dislike those in the first place, though, you might want to give it a try.
Native Clip board [1]:
Copying and pasting on smartphones was never the most fluid thing, nor the most consistent. This module adds clip-board management straight to the text-selection menu, and it allows you to theme the new menu, black-list apps and further customize it. If you happen to be working on your phone because there’s a document you might need to edit on the bus, this will prove useful.
BootManager [1]:
A must-have to those that want their device to be slim and efficient on boot. This module allows you to select which applications run when you power up your device, and those that don’t get allowed to do so usually stay dormant until you fire them up. If you’ve got a good amount of things that you don’t need right away but are hesitant to greenify, this can alleviate the dilemma of your user experience.

Deleting both caches (cache + Dalvik cache) immediately after flashing before reboot does it for me. Everytime.
Without that: lags, space issues, always a restore necessary to get a working device

If you are not getting nougat OTA's, roll back to B197 with HiSuite. If you can't roll back with HiSuite, use DC-Phoenix. It costs 15 bucks, but it works. Then update with all OTA's until you get to B368 (I think) it is. Then, follow this;

Hi,
I have NXT-AL10 and I updated to Android Nougat two days back. Here is how I did. First step is to get the Huawei ID.
1) I followed the instructions in this youtube video. Watch the video and you will know where to click on that fancy looking icon on webpage to get the code. once you get the code, put in your email, type the password, confirm the password and done.
I found an english website where you can register for Huawei ID Click Here
2) You now have the Huawei ID.
3) Go to settings and then log in using the Huawei ID in (screenshot attached below)
4) In the settings - > go to Huawei ID -> put in your login credentials and you should see "account center" on top. Below you should see member -> gold membership. Click on that. (screenshot attached below)
5) Now you will see Manuals, Service, Forum, Member. From this click on "service" and below select - > update (screenshot attached below)
6) Here you will see Nougat update. It will be 2.10 gb and you can update to Nougat very easily from here. It is matter of few minutes before it restarts and finishes the Nougat update process.
This process doesn't require any root and it takes a total of 20 minutes or so. Since my Mate 8 and didn't want to root so quickly, I followed this procedure. And it worked. Now Mate 8 is butter smooth. It is really worth. My mate 8 is different model than yours so I dont know if you can do the same process but you can try and see if it works out for you. Hope I explained properly and hope you succeed.
Cheers!
Sam

This is an early build of EMUI 5.0 for Huawei Mate. That’s why it appears to be having issues with Bluetooth, Keyboard input, Permissions, Notifications, Dual SIM Option and SIM compatibility, among other bugs.
You'd to wait for Official Stable Version.

Chinese or english ?
Chinese ROM with English option. I received it via OTA 28th of December. I f*king hated it, and reverted back to 26s (previously I had 20s and it was a fine ROM).
My description of it is pasted below from another topic, but bottom line, it has a crappy folder interface, no entering/exiting animations, it's harder to return back from a folder, and it will screw google services.
If you go to the original topic and scroll down a little you'll see some screenshots I posted.
----------------------------------------------------------
Ok, my phone just updated by OTA yesterday from 20S to 28S (yeah, it jumped 7 updates, I know).
Well, the new update is a pile of crap:
1- After the 1,2GB update the playstore became corrupted. I tried to clean cache and data of Google services and playstore as I saw in a video, it didn't work. Then I uninstalled those 2 and google framework, and tried to install them with Google Installer (that app that installs the Playstore in chinese phones that don't have gapps). It installed them but it didn't work. I downloaded the most recent Google Installer apk and repeated the process, again it didn't work. F*cking seriously??
2- Some system apps now have splash screen ads which make you wait. Very professional, LeEco
3- The smooth zoom in / zoom out animations every time we entered/exited a folder are gone, now you enter one and can scroll sideways to get to another folder while their titles are in the top sliding horizontally, metro style. Worst even it's harder to exit the folder: before this update we clicked a free spot and it exited it, but now we have to tap a free spot in the right side to the "+" sign, or it won't exit, I have to put my finger all the way down to tap the back button.
And the turd in the top of the cake, when a folder is entered, the OS displays f*cking ads!! chinese ads, in my folders! Thankfully this can be disabled, but what the hell, Leeco?
4- The Phone Manager app is much more intrusive always complaining about cleaning, data plans and telling me to "accelerate apps"
5- A butload of more chinese apps installed
6- In the browser (that also has a splash screen), if I choose "other countries" as a location I loose the Bing and google options as search engines with only the chinese search engines available, so I have to set my location as USA (I'm in europe). If I wanted only chinese search engines I would have choose as my location, oh I don't know... China, maybe? What stupidity is this?
7- The folder icon now only shows 4 apps maximum, before it supported 9, which was much more useful
So, anyone else with these kind of problems, was your playstore app ruined too?
I'm planning to downgrade to a version without this stupid folder navigation system, and of course with a funcioning playstore. Which version is that? 26S? 27S?
I like the previous version and don't want to install "pure android" or buggy cooked roms.
I hope anyone can answer my questions, thank you and sorry for the rant
---------------------------------------------------------
5.9.28S is cr*p...
My daughter received the 5.9.28S update for her X500 little over a week ago, i got it 2 days ago on my X620....
IMHO do NOT upgrade to that version because for the last few days i've been trying to get GApps to work on the
X500 and X620 (both unrooted) but Google Play Services will NOT work on 5.9.28S. My daughter is the
most unhappy girl in the world at the moment because every friggin app that needs Google Play Services doesn't work...
I've tried everything i could think of and i've tried a lot of solutions from the most well known places for these kinda
problems on the interwebs. Not ONE solution worked, both the X500 and X620 have been factory reset several times
and its the same story "Google Play Services stopped working" over and over and over again... Worst update EVER!
It's driving me NUTS!!! I need to revert both phones back to 5.9.23S or 5.9.26S.
@pipoawas
You can turn of the ads... Long press free spot on screen, go to "Desktop settings" and disable "Media recommend".
But i think you found that out already
*Edit:
Tried to revert to 5.9.23S on my wiped X620 with the file from LeTV.... It FAILS to install during recovery. What the ... I give up....
@Excorio
Yes, I know about disabling the ads, but we're still stuck with the splash screens and the hedious launcher: when exiting a folder, if the '+' sign is at the right with no space left at it's right side, you can't exit that folder without going down to the back button.
I discovered for myself how to make google services to work, and it wasn't from any solution on the web. Here, it's the 1st post. You will also have to do another extra step to synchronize your google contacts with the phone contacts (aka, getting your phone contacts populated with your google contacts, e.g. gmail contacts), if that's your case, or else the phone contacts will be empty. To find it just scrool a little down from that 1st post (it's the big "EDIT" in red).
Yes you can export the contacts manually in a csv file from google contacts to the phone contacts, but they will never sync: any change you do to one won't update in the other
One thing that's pissing me off is that I'm having trouble with the 26S:
In the google keyboard (gboard), even though I added my home language, it underlines in red any word from my language; even stranger, despite underlining them, it keeps suggesting them (so it knows them after all). Even worse every time I tap on a word the drop down menu pops up suggesting english words, despite the fact that I have set the keyboard to write in my language.
That and any keyboard I try (4 of them) completly freeze every time I try to update a comment in facebook. *Any keyboard*
So I tried to revert to 23S like you, and like you, it gives me an error. I tried 20S, another error (it's meant to be flashed in twrp only or something, I thought). Then I went to their official rom site (https://bbs.le.com/zt/eui/le_1s.html), with the kind of official roms that work with the original recovery (that I have), I downloaded the 13S, renamed to 'update.zip', tried to downgrade to it, and guess what, another error! With an official rom, with original recovery, in a phone that was never rooted!
F*CK YOU, Leeco!
EDIT: I just found out why 23s, 20s and 13s seem to be off limits, it's not that they're meant to be flashed with twrp, it's because of this (translated from chinese):
After the Android 5.0 (EUI and EUI versions under 13s and 13s) is upgraded to Android 6.0 (15s and above) , the underlying code logic of the system changes. It is not supported to roll back from Android 6.0 to the previous Android 5.0 version .

The 3 roms I mentioned before are Android 5.0. I guess the update to 6.0 (26s, 28s) changed something in the phone, I'm guessing it's the recovery, that now rejects roms from Android 5

To be honest, if i could get Google services running on 5.9.028S_12161 (Stable release) on my X620 i wouldn't mind the so called "improvements" of that update....
I have read your post about how you got it working... It was one of the first i read while searching on XDA I actually used the same installation package you mention in your post, that apk also gave me the same "corrupt apk error". I did what you did and still it wouldn't work on 5.9.028S, i read the post several times (lol) and tried to get it working serveral times but it failed. I then searched for another installer (more recent one called "Google Installer v2 for Xiaomi / MIUI Devices") and tried that one on 5.9.028S but that one also didnt work. After that i lost my patience, cuz i was trying for a couple of days already, and i went on the forum again to write the rant on this page https://forum.xda-developers.com/le...om-rom-to-official-stock-rom-5-t3725302/page3
While i was writing that post i was downloading 5.9.026S_06141 (Stable release) from this forum page https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-2/development/mtk-chipset-custom-rom-to-official-t3715691 I had NO hopes for it to work because of all the previous FAILS (grrrrrrr....) but i could try anyway right. So after downloading i copied it to my phone's root storage and renamed it to update.zip and started the update from withing the file manager AND i crossed my fingers also
OMG it worked! I now have 5.9.026S on my phone again. Then i used that same "Google Installer v2 for Xiaomi / MIUI Devices". It installed all needed apps to get stuff working. So after some installations and a reboot the Google Play Services was working again, no errors. I was able to access the Play Store and every other Google app EXCEPT for Gmail. I couldnt get Gmail running cuz Gmail popped an error saying gmail has a problem with google play services. So just to be sure i checked the Play Services version and it was 438 but i need 440 for my X620. So i updated Play Services to 11.9.51 (440-177350961) and i was able to get into Gmail again without any error. It was just a wrong Services version. Pfff....
Now my X620 is purring like a kitten on 26S again like before. The ONLY thing that's p*ssing me off is that i get a notification from an app thats installed on the phone called "Performance Monitor". If i run the Play Store for example the notification says "Google Play Store skip 48 frames!" (see image below). I have never EVER seen that before. This goes for any app im starting up or have running. The notification pops up now and again telling me some app "skipped xx frames."
What the heck is that thing and why is this happening? More importantly how do i make it go away?

Good to know you got it working, I guess my solution worked only for me (that, and your phone is X620 while mine is the X500)
To my surprise 23S seems to be Android 6.0, according to the "about phone". Then why the hell did it refuse to install??
Bear in mind that I'm almost certain that my "contact Sync solution" seems to be the culprit for my issue of only one language being recognized by the google keyboard; that or is an incompatibility with Android 6 and that particular Google Sync apk, because later I tried 13S rom, then Google Installer 1.3 which installed all the necessary apks with no errors (aka, no need to install a external apk for Google Sync), and the Gboard recognizes both languages.
You really like the "upgrades" of 28S? yacchh The default browser takes some 5 seconds before it even opens a website, because of 1, sometimes 2 (!) splashscreens. And really, what new upgrades does 28S has? being Marshmellow? big deal, I don't notice it in my daily life, so a previous version is fine by me.
About the "Performance Monitor", there's got to be a way to disable some notifications in the app, otherwise I recommend you disable all of the Performance Monitor notifications in the settings->notifications->permissions
That 48 frames thingy is new to me... are you sure you didn't activate something about performance either in the "Performance Monitor" or in the developer options?
Anyway, that's a chinese app, I suggest you disable their notifications like I described above with the "Performance Monitor", or even disable some of those apps altoghether (you can't do that with *every* chinese app though)
By the way, how did you update the Play Services to 11.9.51? you hunted for the apk online, or is there another method that I'm not aware about?
I don't like the "improvements" they made in the new version but it's not that i run into stuff i need to change. Also i use Chrome for browsing. The default browser is not that good imho and i have been using Swiftkey as a keyboard for ages and works great for me...
I can not set permissions for the "Performance Monitor". This app was already on the phone after i installed 26S so it must come with 26S? I also did not enable anything to make it come up with those messages. I'm also not able to set permissions for that app or disable notifications, the most ANNOYING thing about that notification is that the phone vibrates with it also... (See image below) and i can not uninstall it. If anyone has an answer to this Performance Monitior thing plz do tell cuz i cant find anything about it.
I did indeed hunt for the Google Installer online. Here's the page i got it from: http://www.teamandroid.com/2017/06/21/download-google-installer-v2/. The only problem with this one was that it installed 438 and not 440. I was not able to upgrade to 440 manually or thru the Play Store (I cant find it in my Play Store, dunno why) so i installed an app called "Play Services Info" from the Play Store. I've used that one before and always worked for me. The app shows what version you have installed and you can also upgrade from the current version to the latest version by tapping "PLAY STORE". (See image below). It then opens a Play Store page where you can download/install the latest version, you also have the option to download it from APK Mirror.
Another fun fact about the System Update app in 26S is that even if you disable Auto-update in Settings it will STILL download 5.9.028S and it WILL try to get the new version installed. I noticed this morning that it had downloaded it and it wanted me to update to 28S! No way thats gonna happen lol. Crappy thing about that update message is on the screen that you cant get it to close by using the back button for example.
So i just shut down my phone by holding the power button, i then connected the phone to my PC and powered the phone up. On my PC i went into the file system of the phone, deleted the update zip file from data\com.letv.android.ota. I went into settings and denied the storage permission for the updater app. Just to be sure i rebooted the phone and there's no more message about the update. I then opened the updater app and it said i had the latest version lol... It now thinks 26S is the latest version even if you tap the update button. It still recognizes 26S as the latest version so im confident 28S will never come by again in the updater...
gboard has a better prediction in my opinion, and that facebook issue also happens with swiftkey.
chrome is bloated and google is the new Big Brother now. I would recommend opera or vivaldi.
For the Performance Monitor notifications go to settings, notification management, see if you can find "Performance Monitor" and choose it. Also the Phone Manager app (the icon is a tuxedo ) has some permission settings that might be useful, including the disabling of apps.
If that doesn't work, then your options are either rooting your phone so you have permission to mess with that app at will, or get another ROM (26S, 23S)
You can also see the google play services version number in app management/google play services.
To delete new updates from the update app you just have to go to app management, choose 'system update' and wipe it's data (or cache); you will see that one of them has some ~1.3 GB of data.
I'm afraid the system update notification may appear again, I too denied storage and notification permissions, and that damn thing appeared to me again later. No promises , but try to wipe the data and cache from that app and never run it again, so it doesnt have any permissions (you still havent agreeded with its licence, you know, that popup "do you give this app permission to access blablabla")

So I upgraded to 26s, and I hated so I tried downgrading using flashing but for some reason my bootloader won't unlock so I upgraded to 28s. It's better than the 26s in my opinion, less bloatware than the 26s, new awesome camera, app drawer, improved battery life. My Gapps are working successfully, I downloaded them from here https://youtu.be/8VU270w99bA there are links in the description so no need to wait for it like he does. My calendar keeps crashing tho, and the splash screens are hideous, but I don't have a problem with folders because I was used to the app drawer before this, and now I have it again I don't use folder on the main screen anymore. Chinese ads are disabled (but seriously though what the freak??) And I think it's functional enough, at least until I figure out how to downgrade to my stock rom lol
Why did you hate 26S? is basically the same as 20S, but it lets you update the gallery, calendar and browser to the new 28S versions (it asks you for each app, sooner or later).
But I didn't update these apps since I like the old gallery with it's recycle bin, and the 26S browser already supports more than 16 tabs and doesn't freak out with the search engines and location
You prefer the app drawer? To each it's own I guess But it's hard to find the app you want in the middle of so many apps including system apps. Folders are a must, they're organized according to *your* tastes and your software designations.
The new camera still doesn't seem as good as the google's Open Camera app. At least it doesn't made that loud sound when taking a picture and it's faster than open camera specially in burst mode.
As for the locked bootloader, have you tried fastboot oem unlock in fastboot? From there you just have to copy the stock rom as update.zip (no caps lock) in the root of the virtual sd card, flash the original letv recovery, reboot, and the phone will flash the original stock ROM. Maybe you can do this through TWRP too, but I'm not sure.
For some reason I can't update to the 28S OTA (I have 20S), when updating it says "failed to update! Cause: corrupted"
I have the original recovery, the phone is unrooted (it was rooted before but I erased the system folder)
Why is this happening??
Also FYI, I want to update to this rom which I don't like, because my phone is having strange behaviours even after wipes and flashing the original roms:
Whatsapp and now Telegram often don't deliver the messages when the phone is idle (I have to constantly open the apps to see if there are new messages), and now another issue, those blue filter apps like twilight suddenly stop working and close (no banner in status bar, no "badge" icon, nothing"). I had this app working for a full year before, and now this happens, WTF?? the same happens wit hanother similar filter app.
It's like messaging and these filter apps get kicked from memory, (though still being shown in multitasking screen)
I have gave all permissions to all of them and configured them to autostart after boot
It's like something is roten inside the phone, and decaying further.... no amount of wipes and fresh installed roms will correct this. How in the hell is this possible?

Hi, finally we have a full working rom not AOSP for the our device Zenfone Max M2!!! The latest miui 10 based on Android Pie!
For the installation you need of an unlocked bootloader and latest firmware WW Asus Pie that you can find here
After this, you must be on PitchBlack Recovery and uncheck the "Disable DM Verity" option from Additional and Special Settings and flash the force decryption (here), then wipe cache, dalvik and data (DO NOT WIPE SYSTEM!!!) and flash always by recovery this bootimage patched correctly for firmware .48 and the system image of Miui 10 (here).
Finally flash in every case the latest zip of magisk manager and go in advanced wipe for the resize of the system partition. Reboot and voilà. You will take a MIUI 10 with characthers too big and for this is necessary adjust the dpi value in developer option (i use 400/420). Now all works except the services Google (the apps don't work) and the Mi Services (especially mi account and find my phone). For the services Google we have a fix, for Xiaomi services not yet. For fix the google services we need of an app called Link2sd (root app).
Well we can download the latest version of the app from here and delete the preinstalled Google services that not are working. You must delete these services: Google Playstore, Google Play Services, Google Service Framework, Google Contact Sync and Google Calendary Sync. After this you can reinstall automatically the working gapps by this chinese app called Google Installer 3.0 that can find here (do not use the 2.0 version is bugged!).
The app will reinstall all except Google Contact Sync that can install from here.
After this you will take all the gapps working except Google Contact Sync (you don t will see your contact saved in phonebook). Then you will need for first to allow permissions to the app in management app section of Miui (only permission that you must give is relative to contacts) and for second you must convert the app in a SYSTEM APP with link2sd. Finally reboot the phone and voilà, you will take also the google contacts in your phonebook!!!
Alternatively you can choose the solution of kumar87 (thanks a lot) - Install Link2SD app and delete all Google apps, now install this gapps package using pitch black recovery ( modified by Ashu7073 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nS2z4emxHovZ0x3CqXl59r8oBqx9DiPU/view?usp=drivesdk )
Now clear data, cache, and dalvik cache.
BUGS
1- Security setting is not working
2- Sometimes apps don't open from home screen (restart needed)
3- Bluetooth not working properly with car stereo
4- Can't change region in settings.
5- Mi account is not working including themes
6- find device app stop working frequently.
I have realized this GSI with ErfanTool, then thanks @erfanoabdi

Any kind of bug???
I'm going to try flashing it now. Thanks.
UPDATE 1: MANAGED TO SUCCESSFULLY FLASH THE IMAGE AND CURRENTLY UNINSTALLING GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES.
UPDATE 2: BATTERY LIFE IS SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN STOCK ROM, CONTACTS SYNCS STILL DOESN'T WORK FOR ME, OTHER GAPPS SERVICES ARE WORKING FINE, NO OTHER BUGS COULD BE SEEN.
AFTER TESTING THIS ROM, I CAN FINALLY SEE A FUTURE FOR CUSTOM ROMs ON THIS PHONE, THANKS A BUNCH FOR TAKING THE TIME AND PUTTING IN EFFORT TO DEVELOP THIS ROM, I'M TRULY GRATEFUL.
:laugh::good:

For me in .48 all works with porting of this MIUI. I m trying also a porting of ZenUI from Zenfone5 and with .48 version of this rom will works except RIL that is very important in a rom (for this i don t have published yet it). I will try with .44 to see if this issue can be resolved. Thanks for your feed.
I installed this rom and find that everything is working fine except some issues I faced
Working - Camera, Bluetooth, wifi, gps, volte etc.
Issues -
1- Unable to use Google apps and services including contact sync.
Solution - Install Link to SD app and delete all Google apps ( search Google in link to SD app and uninstall all apps and services), now install this gapps package using pitch black recovery ( modefied by Ashu7073 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nS2z4emxHovZ0x3CqXl59r8oBqx9DiPU/view?usp=drivesdk
Now clear data, cache, and delvik cache.

4- Bluetooth not working properly with car stereo
5- Can't change region in settings.
6- Mi account is not working including themes

Thanks. Now i add your feed on first post. I would also publish the ZenUI porting from Zenfone5 but calls and data (RIL) not work. Should i publish this version for test or not?
You should publish it so anyone can use and some other developers may remove these bugs.
Really none of the understanding guys can fix the mistakes? Probably this will all die out. It’s a pity of course, if I knew how to fix it.
