Hi all
I had a software update today to android version 5.0 on my S5.... any idea what the two horizontal arrows mean and how / or if I can get rid of them? I did not have them before the update ?
I have read somewhere about the VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is activated but I have checked settings mobile networks and nothing seams to be in there and it all looks the same as before.
Thanks in advance
Have you tried to see settings of the phone app?

Thanks for your reply, but if I turn off voice over LTE the arrows still stay in the notification area, I have also tried to shut down with this setting on and off to no effect. I guess I am stuck with them either way and possibly this was a bad install of the update?
Thanks to all who replied appreciated.

Maybe try Settings, Wi-fi, uncheck Show Wi-fi popup, then press 3 dots setting menu in upper right hand corner, choose Advanced, uncheck Wi-fi notifications

They discuss this issue here: http://allaboutgalaxynote.com/galax...y-note-4-status-icons-and-notification-icons/
This seems to be connected to VoLTE. Not sure if this will help but going to Mobile Networks > Network Mode and changing it to some other setting should remove these arrows.
For anyone still don't know, if you want to quickly access Bluetooth or Wifi settings page, just tap on the "label" underneath the Wifi/Bluetooth icons and you will go directly into the settings page.
Just my 2cents
Nice one cheers mate

Looks like you have a Custom ROM isntalled, not stock one.
Cm11 is maybe Cyanogen Mod 11.

Is there any way to add 2G/3G switch in quick settings pan?

Nope, only 4G on/off
You'd need a framework modification for this, i'd assume.
Anyone know how can we access quickly the other settings?
I really miss that option.
Plus 2g/3g toggle would be nice.
Thanks mate, specially just upgrade from kitkat

I just got my September 1st Android security update OTA (I'm in the UK).
Right from the start, I noticed that the phone didn't lock/show the Clear View info when I closed the front door of the cover. In fact, the screen just stays on like the cover hasn't been shut at all. Also,, when opening the cover, it doesn't bring the screen on either - so it's completely ignoring the magnet from the looks of things.
Has anyone else got this?
Answering my own thread here:
A second boot showed the "Upgrading apps" screen very briefly, and once booted, seems like everything is back to normal with a fully working clear view cover. So after the upgrade, do another reboot just in case of any weirdness (might apply to more than just the clear view cover issue I had).

Er, afraid I don't know what that is. Tell me how to check and I'll take a look.
It's usually in the quick toggles, it says VoLTE as the icon i think.
It's not in my list of quick toggles I'm afraid.

VoLTE is in phone settings, not in quick toggles.
And I think your carrier should support and enable VoLTE to use it. I'm on the August update.
On the efficient rom 3.2 there is no volte even though my carrier supports it, any ideas?

Could you check if it is in phone settings too? I done some googling and apparently some people say on the september patch it has been baked into it.
When i download the wanam csc app, i can see all the csc values for volte to be true but no volte option on the phone app nor quick toggles
Not in settings either for me!

In the phone settings too? By phone settings, I meant the phone app. If it doesn't appear in settings nor the phone app, that means it is baked in the phone itself probably...

Checked there just now and nope, not there for me! I can see where it matches your screenshot, but that option is just missing for me.

I don't have either that option in settings mobile network, my phone has it in phone settings.
Galaxy S8+ running QG4 (verizon). I use Do Not Disturb from 10pm to 7am daily, and the DND icons used to show on the status bar, and on the AOD, now however, they don't show at all. I recently took the update to QG4, but I don't remember if this started prior to the update. Am I missing a setting? Does it work for anyone on this version?
Thanks

Same issue here on S8 with build AQH3. Another report on AQG5 on AndroidCentral:
https://forums.androidcentral.com/s...4-do-not-disturb-missing-icon-since-aqg5.html
Do you have Gear VR packages installed as well?
Same here on my unlocked international S8.
WTF Samsung. ?

Have you tried calling Samsung support?
If others have the same problem, then it's not me...
Maybe it's some setting we are using causing the issue.
I'm calls Samsung support tomorrow if i don't find a way to fix it.
Fixed with a factory reset.

Confirmed, this works
Cheeky icon.
Fix courtesy Igsucks https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...urb-status-bar-icon-missing/m-p/212576#M24990
settings > notifications > advanced > show apps with blocked notifications (ensure System apps are shown)
If you see SYSTEM UI is blocked then click the top right menu dots and click reset app preferences.
This resets ALL app preferences and permissions so you will have to grant a lot of apps location rights, and so on.
