I Don't know but I think that it might receive android m.
I never expected lollipop for 816. But it released for 816 all variants.
Great news!
U appear to be using desire 816 dual sim with sense 7 rom and 3g working intact. How did u do it? ? link pls
If You have chl variant than use insertcoin rom .
For any other variants use S rom.

I don't have any problem with heating or battery drain .
Never goes above 50 degrees celcius and only comes near when doing stupidly hardcore tasks for phones. And the battery can last an entire day 6am - 10 pm with 2 hrs of youtube + some fb and email checking and will then have still around 20 percent battery left .
You sure there are no unwanted apps running in the background?

are there any pre-release notes about marshmallow for htc ?
I am quite skeptical about this. I've the Desire 820s & I haven't received the lollipop update for my device yet. :/

No, it was not announced. Only kitkat available. There's some phones, the same model, came lollipop out-of-box. Still no OTA available. Gibz97 has lollipop out-of-box, and he ported it here. That's the only possible way to get lollipop. Still, we have doubt of marshmallow coming to our device

Hello there,
Due to some Thermal and Kernel limitations charging on some of the roms are slower than it is supposed to be. Did a workaround and edited the Thermal engine to get the almost MAXIMUM current the rom/kernel can get.
DaysPowerOneHour,
At the average of 1.7A/H it will take 109 min or 1H49M to charge your device fully(the current measurement was taken while screen was on, if the screen goes off the current can reach up to 1.9A in some ROMs). Means in 1 Hour it will charge 0-60+%, for most of the users that enough for a Day of use.
All you have to do is download the correct zip attached and flash it through recovery, no wipes needed.
Note: do give it max of 2 reboots and replug the charger to see changes.
**flashing on some AOSP ROMs may result in bootloop, in such case flash the iDarko version **
**flash at your own risk**
**don't complain me that your bacon got fried**LaL
**Do Use The THANKS button**
ROMs currently tested on:
H2os, the one without any tags.
N by updating.
Darkobas by intense07 (must work on official too)
##SEEMS ITS NOT WORKING ON MOST ROMS,TESTED BY MANY USERS AND MYSELF, BUT IT DOES WORK ON DU AND H²OS##
before voting please make sure you did everything that this thread says.

2:custom kernels with fast charge support.

Hey there,
All are busy tasting Nougat. Some peeps are enjoying the beautiful UX of H2 OS. Due to some kernel and thermal limitations battery charges a bit slower. So did a workaround to get full 1000mA charging power. As for now there are no custom kernels for H2 that means 1A is max.
**Flash this at your own risk**
** Don't complain that your Opo ran away from you**
Download the zip attached and flash it through recovery.
I have only tested this on official H2 OS 2.0,
for cm ROMs? Coming soon.

Use kernal auditor, in power and battery section set the charging level to max then repluug your charger. If still getting low, it maybe fault of your cable?
OP updated.
Added support for Darkobas, and decided to do this with all ROMs, it would be great if anyone can provide me /etc/thermal engine.conf file from official cm13 nightlies.
This is what I was getting on AOSP by updating.

When the screen is on, it charges at a rate of 1.1-1.2A (like it should to avoid heating)
And when the display is off, it cranks it up to 1.8-2A (again, as supposed)
PS- Try clean installing the build after 20160903 as the OP changed the charging level after that, listening to all of us.
Can someone confirm that he is working on building cm 13 or 14 for our phone and thanks .....
Yup, I've just waiting for @voidzero @root-expert for Cyanogenmod 13 and/or 14 build for HTC M8s, then i will port them to Desire 820

If u are on official rom then dont expect that ur phn will charge blazing fast.
In port roms with custom kernels you can charge fast.
I have a 2amp charger and got my phn charged in about 1hr 15 min
