So my LG G2 D802 is using a stock Lollipop (5.0.2) ROM from Singapore that I flashed recently, lately my phone sometimes get ghost touches and sometimes the screen stops functioning. So my question is, can it be a software problem rather than hardware? When the screen is unusable, I can swipe to unlock like normal but when unlocked whatever I press doesn't do anything. The vibrate on touch is there but no action.
I am having the same issue. Have you got the solution yet?

Hello, I have a problem with my LG G2 VS980 by verizon.
There are two problems depending on preloaded rom
1 The display shuts down immediately when call to someone. (after the conversation has will not turn on)
or
2 When someone call to me, after a conversation I can not unlock the screen (either the knock on, or by power button - appears on the screen and immediately turns off).
I've tested all the roms that are available. The one who runs without problem with the display there is a rom by HeatshiverSX - 4.3.1. The problem is that this rom has problem with the rotation of the screen.
Are you able to tell what's going on? Could someone help / advise? Thanks!
Anyone ?

Did you manage to solve it by now?
If not, it seems that @Bam9 manged to solve it by a firmware update as he reported here.
It seems that there are two similar issues in LG G2 which are both caused by the proximity sensor which causes screen and touch problems during conversations:
The screen stays on and the touch buttons in the dialer (speaker, add call, mute, etc...) aren't responsive.
(This issue was already reported by @athorax here)
The screen turn off and goes blank while in conversation.
(This issue was already reported by @madafis here)
In both of these situations the only quick way to end a call is to pull down the status and notifications bar and hang up from there.
Thanks to @Bam9 and @EtherBoo , who suggested to clear the proximity sensor from the outside and squeeze the top left corner of the phone, I tried to clean it and put some stress on it - and it worked!
I have a glass screen protector (which don't block the proximity sensor), and I am rooted and using CyanogenMod 11 ROM.
I used ioroot to root and AutoRec, which comes with TWRP 2.7.0.0, to install CyanogenMod ROM.
However, going back to stock ROM (in my case, LG G2 D802, it's D80220C) won't help since the issue still exists.
What I'm sure is that it was pretty much okay in the beginning, and the situation became worse and worse - occurring randomly, until it arrived to a situation in which I can't use the phone properly during conversation.
Now that I discovered that I can put some stress on the proximity sensor it seems that I have a hardware rather than a software issue.
I am having this problem with my g2 d802. It happens in ROM cloudy 2.2 and also aosp lollipop ROM I'm using now.
This is the issues I'm having. When I'm not holding my phone in my hands, its just seated on the table. Sometimes the touchscreen is not sensitive or does not register any touch. I had to hold my phone then it works normally. Does anyone know what issues am I dealing with?
Another issue that happens once a while is, even I'm holding the phone, the touchscreen becomes not sensitive, I had to lock and unlock my phone then the problem go away instantly. Pls advice. Thanks.
Hi guys, I have experienced a number of screen relates issues on my D800 since the Lollipop upgrade. I am pure stock, took the upgrade OTA from ATT.
1. Knock on stopped working. Knock off works OK. I tried all of the suggestions online, update touch firmware, etc. but still no help. This is no big deal since I can use the back button to wake up the phone.
2. I noticed scrolling was unresponsive in Chrome but ignored it because I thought it might be me.
3. I was out and on the phone and I noticed I could not hear her well all of a sudden and then the call got disconnected. I tried to put my PIN in to unlock the phone but that area of the screen was totally unresponsive to touch. I could enter the numbers in the second row of the grid but there is a 1 in my pin and that would not register. I restarted a bunch of times which I had to do only with buttons because I could not click 'OK' on the screen to confirm the restart. I got a screen on the phone saying my screen was unresponsive and this is how to answer calls only with the buttons etc.
I got home and used by OTG mouse connection to enter my pin and navigate the phone. I did a factory reset which I had never done before. The responsiveness seems better now. There seems to be one section of the screen that is unresponsive, right near the middle. I can't click on any of the icons in the second row from the bottom. I can get to the notification shade which I don't think I could do before.
I am attaching an image of a memo where I just ran my finger up and down the screen without lifting it. You can see the dead area.
Has anyone had this problem or knows of any solution? Thanks very much.

I just RMA'd it. It probably is the same problem you had but I am pretty sure I am still under warranty so I just sent it in.
Hello,
Yesterday I used Hyelton's guide to go back to stock on my LG G2 LS980 and immediately after returning to stock I am unable to use the touch screen at all.
The phone boots fine and I reach the "on screen activation" page but I cannot 'click' any buttons or do anything. The screen has no touch recognition at all. I have no idea what to do.
Anyone have any suggestions? I've read about people typing a code into the dialer to update the touch screen firmware, but I am unable to do that as the screen will not recognize me touching it at all.
Extra info: The screen was fine yesterday before I returned to stock.
