Hallo,
please excuse my bad english.
I have a Acer Switch 11 ( i3 Prozessor , 4GB , 60GB SSD , Windows 10 ) .
I would like a Dual Boot create, so Windows 10 and Android x86 .
I have tested it with this version, Android-x86 4.4-r3 EFI image
The Live version works.
I would now like to create a dual boot on your hard drive.
Unfortunately without success!
When starting Windows and Android me appears.
Windows can I boot, Android not.
About Help I would be happy.
I have a similar problem, my windows 10 pc wont let me boot from my usb.
My Laptop Acer Aspire E5-471 works fine dualboot with Ubuntu 15.04 i thing you must make a partition for Android_x86 when you install android_x86 choose the partition android_x86

Hello friends. I need help with the Acer Aspire Switch 11 (intel atom, 2Gb). Search gave no answer. please somebody help:crying:
So, what is your problem? Have you formated you hard disk partition for Android correctly? What error do you get? Do you have any picture for detail? My experience dual booting so far:
Triple boot windows 10, ubuntu 15.10, and remix os
Dual boot windows 10 and hackintosh yosemite

You can dual boot win8 and win7 its a breeze, i just did follow this simple steps posted on microsoft-news.com
just make three partition on your laptop...one for each.. or you can install Ubuntu through wubi on windows 7 and windows 8 on a separate partition.. am currently using like this...
Easiest way is to install ubuntu inside windows 7 and use VMware to instal Windows 8 on virtual machine.
I did that today. Could go without windows eight tho.
thnx everyone i run win8 in VMware..

Its actually pretty simple.Just dual boot windows 7 and 8.Im sure u knw how o do this. Then install Ubuntu alongside 7 through the boot setup!
If you had a newer CPU, I'd suggest using Client Hyper-V (from Win8) to run the other OSes virtually, but the Core 2 family lacks second-level address translation, which means Hyper-V messes up desktop performance so MS made SLAT mandatory on client (non-server) builds if you want Hyper-V.

I had my windows 7 installed , and then i installed ubuntu. Now , lets say you installed windows 7 on a LocalDrive (c):, then in this drive there will be some files.
wubildr
wubildr.cfg
wubuildr.mbr
These are the files that gets your ubuntu booted.
So just install windows 8 normmally on some other drive. (note: dont keep any operating system in same drive. Make a 100gb for windows 7 , 50gb for ubuntu(if you not compiling any big projects) and 100 gb for Windows 8 , and the rest 70 gb a 4th hard drive )
You can store songs and stuff in any drive you want.
NOTE:
When you boot up your computer, this is what happens,
1) Bios awakes all the hardware("Goodmorning mouse, keyboard harddisk, any other devices connected too (except your internet router) )
2)Bios finds a operating system and boots up its "SELECT OPERATING SYSTEM"(called bootmanager).(in my pc when i use windows 8 and shut it down, the next time i start pc i get windows 8's boot menu. but if i use windows 7 and shut it down , and next time when i turn on my pc i get windows 7's bootmenu, You wont get ubuntu boot menu on startup)
3)Go to Windows 8 , open my computer . Now you will see that the drive on which you installed Windows 8 is now C drive..
4) Find out on which drive you had your windows 7, open it, go to program files. and use which ever software you had without reinstalling it, Like lets say if i want photoshop, then i will go to windows 7 drive, open program files, then Adobe, then photoshop cs5 and here there will be photoshop.exe, i will create shortcut on desktop (use this method only when the software publisher have not published the software for windows 8, eg TeamViewer , they released their software for windows 8 , so i wont link it to desktop from my windows 7 files.. I will download a new one.. )
Thats it.. have fun buddy..
Check this out.
Google EasyBCD. And then download that software. so if you ever mess up , then you can make a new entry in your bootmanager and name it what you want. lets say you mess up with ubuntu, and in boot menu ubuntu option doesnt come, then you go to windows 7/8 and then open up EasyBCD , make a new entry , name it Ubuntu(or what ever you want) and then point it out to "wubildr.mbr" (remeber , make backup of the three files i told above..) Also you can change the names of existing OS. Like Windows 7 can be changed into Hello, This is Windows 7 . Then this will appear in your boot screen..
Hope i helped. I know you booted windows 8 in VM, but VMs are slow... I just gave you extra info so u know what to do if you mess up on install new OS again

It is easy install Ubuntu alongside win7 and install windows 8 to a different partision
you can install them separately, each on a partition
it is very normal and easy
i did it, i installed windows 7 then 8 then ubuntu
just make sure to install ubuntu after all because of the grub boot loader
Win 8, then Hyper-V as many different OSs as you have space for, its quick, painless, you don't need to worry about Linux over zealous bootloaders screwing everything up, unless you are running several at the same time even a moderate spec'd PC with the correct hardware requirements will run them both without much of an issue.
one thing I miss from 7 is the ability to run XP programs right of my desktop, I have some USB hardware that only supports 32bit XP, on 64 bit 7 I VM'd with XP mode, had the program icon that used said hardware right on my 7 desktop, double clicked, and for all intensive purposes it ran and worked the hardware as if it was on that very os
pretty impressed I have to say, alas it doesn't work like that on 8 which is a shame
Sorry if a similar thread is already there
I hv a Vaio (vpcsb18gg) with windows 7 build in.....
how do i install win 8 with dual boot option...i hv already made a empty partion for installin win 8
thanks in advance
Rather than wasting your time with posting (including an apology) and our time with responding to it, have you considered just using the search feature, or a general web search? People have been dual-booting Windows versions for, oh, the last 18 years at least. It's not hard to find info about.
Just install Win8 to the second partition. Why'd you even need to ask? Win8 uses the same bootloader as Win7 and Vista, so it will auto-detect them, but this works even with Vista or later and XP or earlier, which don't use the same loader (so long as you install the newer OS first).

All you pretty much need is the windows 8 iso on a disc or boot-able USB drive, when you buy windows 8 you should get in a disc or you can find the windows 8 .iso and enter in your key once the installation is complete
1. Use this to put the iso on a disc or usb drive: http://download.cnet.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html
2. Power off your computer
3. On your computer, when your booting it gives you an option to boot from cd or usb (normally press your F keys or another special key when booting up to give you the option, i think for a vaio its F11 or F12)
4. Just keep clicking next till it asks you if you want "uprgrade" or "coustom" click "coustom" it should give you the option to install to that partition if it doesn't make sure your partition is 20gb and is formatted as ntfs
If you want to watch a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_p4rCyYGW0 (Skip to 6:32 unless you want to watch the partition part) it may not be windows 8 retail but its thee exact same process.
Any more questions reply or PM me
Edit: When you use the upgrade assistance it downloads the windows 8 you want just click "download pro (or any other version)" put the .iso in on a disk or usb
Here's upgrade assistant:

hey guys i have a Question... i have managed to boot android on a USB Stick and At start up "bios" i can pick that to boot from, no emulation just android standalone, any one know if you can do this on a toshiba encore, im not sure how you would get to the Bios on a windows Tablet...
Also is there any USB to Bluetooth Converters?
cheers craig.
Most of the windows tablets either require a keyboard connecting on startup or a combo of the windows button + a volume key to enter BIOS.
As for USB to bluetooth, 35 billion results on google werent enough? They are *very* common, cheap too.

i ment if i were to install Android to a Micro SD, "like i did on my Desktop, and made a dual boot and windows but on a HDD" would i be able to boot from it? ie what about the touch drivers would there need to be support or would it run all ok? im guessing someone would have to make drivers for it to work?
cheers craig.
You didnt mention anything about installing android to microSD, just asked about bluetooth and opening the BIOS.
Atom does not support booting from SD.
There are a few devs working to build kernel and build for Asus t100 and dell venue 8 pro.
Do you think their work and progres can be applied on the toshiba Encore according the same bay trail CPU that have in common ?
INstall Android 4.4.x on Encore Dual boot
This is totally Experimental
"i 'm not responsible of any thing "
So Backup first
&
then
First of all you have to Disable Secure Boot
Run these commands in an elevated permissions Windows command shell:
powercfg /h off
manage-bde -status c: (checks bitlocker status)
powershell
PS C:\> Disable-BitLocker -MountPoint "C:"
manage-bde -status c: (after above command finishes, makes sure your disk is really decrypted.)
then disable from boot menu:
to do this:
first shutdown tablet
press vol + & power down to enter boot menu
select setup & disable secure booting
& download Android image for your BayTrail tablet;
https://01.org/android-ia/downloads
After this Follow INTEL official Guide
https://01.org/android-ia/guides/quick-start
Report if Helped;
*Edit: the Android Image provided by Intel is 64bit but most of Our devices have 32bit UEFI, Because of this Image not booting up, As our Devices supported 64bit so Ask toshiba to release A 64bit UEFI for Encore, Or have to wait till Console OS launch publicly
hi umar_fiaz
not directly related to this as i dont want to do a dual boot, (i cant even image my encore), however if i could though id happily put android onto it also..
just wondered if you could look at this which i posted elsewhere, and give me any advice, thanks
i have an encore. i recently selected the option to delete data and partitions, via the maintenance utility, thinking i was restoring it to factory defaults. i didnt make a recovery disk. i didnt think id need one.
aps2.toshiba-tro DOT de/kb0/HTD4103K90000R01.htm (edited ink to enable posting)
in the lnk above you will see the options listed at "2. Booting to the boot device menu", and i now have nothing present here. i cant boot to usb which is what ive been trying. ive tried w8 images prepared with pendrivelinux DOT com/ (edited ink to enable posting), plus ubuntu and xubuntu and i can not get the encore to read any usb images.NOTHING ever is read by the encore at thuis option after pressing volume up/power
i know there is this situation with intel bay trail and uefi booting, but i really dont understand this, and ultimately i just want an answer on how i can image the thing with w8, or even a linux flavour that is stable, i dont mind
could you please help me with advice and steps on how to get the encore to read a suitable image so i can at least use this thing
much appreciated

Okay so for anyone with an encore with the "baytrail" soc and a 32 bit efi only bios or really any bay trail device with a 32 bit efi only bios... I spent my day reading into this dilemma and I managed to boot a modified 64 bit efi of grub with a 32 bit bootxxx.efi (bootia32.efi) and I got grub to boot the live cd of android x86. of course I haven't got passed the blinking cursor but hey I GOT INTO GRUB TO BOOT THE LIVE CD/INSTALLER. Therefore we theoretically have a way to install android, Ubuntu, etc. Now im gonna try to modify the android on intel image (4.4.2_r1-ia2) so it can boot the installer as well. I will report back on any progress.
P.S. I know this post is sloppy but I just want people to know it is POSSIBLE to boot android.
managed to boot Android on Toshiba Encore but when loaded screen goes blank
android-x86-4.4-r2.img from http://www.android-x86.org/releases/releasenote-4-4-r2
I think a supported kernel & drivers for Encore will fix that,....
Any help will be appreciated

Lost sound with update
Hi Guys. After days of setting up my cheap X86_64 Chuwi Android box to run PhoenixOS and windows and to boot normally I lost sound after update. I had the hacked 2.0.1 version with gapps and root from a forum on the PhoenixOS website. Sorry I can't post links yet. So somehow someone got sound to work on this device but not sure how they did it. Windows says my soundcard is a Intel SST Audio Device (WDM). So now I have 2.0.2 but no sound. . Any Ideas?
Hey , where to download 2.0.2 32bit ? 64 bit is not working for me , same Problem like remix 64, blisspop 64 and all other Android x86_64 ... Just looping before bootlogo. I dont understand why becorse win 7 and 10 64 also working fine like of all Android x86 32. thanks
Version 2.0 is available for 32b
@wizmart
I know but 2.0.0 is not the same as 2.0.2 i will try it today , but i dont understand why 64 bit is looping while win 64 is working. I hope soon every New Version would be arriveable AS 32 bit , many people i know only can use 32 bit on older PCs.
stucks at a black screen..seems to be a bootloop on my laptop..(amd a4-6210)
tried dual booting with ubuntu and windows..same result
but boots fine on my computer with intel i3 and nvidia card!
can anyone tell me what is the problem and if there is a 32 bit version that will work? i need this for development processes!
So.. I just installed Phoenix OS on my laptop, using the latest exe file. Once finished, I went on to restart the PC, then, there is a screen / terminal that I can choose between 2 OS, which is my Windows 10 , and Phoenix OS. Picking Windows 10 would boot Windows 10, but when I pick Phoenix OS, it just goes black, then after 5 seconds it just restarts and goes back to the terminal. Reinstalling won't help. Turning off secure boot and fast boot also doesnt work. Please help.
.
If you are wondering if there are any white text or logs that show when I pick an OS on tge terminal, there is, but only when I pick Windows 10, picking phoenix, as I already said, doesn't show anything, just blackness, though I know the laptop is turned on because I can see the brightness, and after 5 seconds, it turns off and turns back on again (restarts)
My laptop specs are.. AMD A9-9420 , RADEON R5 M420, 4GB RAM.
Asus X555BP
have you tried this or this ?
I haven't tried any of those solution, I will try them out. But I am unsure on how to do the solution where you replace the grub file from ubuntu(?) because I do not have ubuntu and also, i do not have any knowledge about that OS. . Recently, I tried installing Phoenix OS via ISO using a bootable flash drice, and it gives me the same result. When I choose install on harddrive, it just restarts on the terminal, when i try boot directly from usb, it also restarts. Maybe theres some incompatability issues on my hardware?
EDIT: So sorry for not reading the whole thing, the grub files were on the attachements. I feel so dumb
Tried the two solutions, none worked. I will read from that thread and see if i can find any other solutions

Thanks. Everyone tried to make their (old) rig work on Phoenix, I found installing 1.5 worked for me, too bad it is very outdated with the Play service unable to update (Error 910). Do you have any clues what could go wrong?

I have installed Phoenix Os on a variety of laptop and pc processors, succes install Phoenix Os on Acer A6 and Lenovo A8 with Phoenix ROC : D, sucess installs my PC core 2 duo E7500 with Phoenix Os v1.5 because it only supports sse4.1, and my laptop Lenovo a9 succes install Phoenix OS with a little problem in UEFI bios settings, try to set UEFI to allow access to Boot for Phoenix OS, so if anyone thinks Phoenix OS can't be installed on the AMD processor it is wrong >: |
