I've never owned a white phone before. Are those of you who ordered a white one happy with it? I've been on the fence about ordering this phone until i heard more about the battery life. I think it is going to be sufficient for my use. Amazon has the white 32gb versions availabe so i dont have to wait for a black one.
Thanks for the feedback.

I was on the fence. I originally went with white, then read about the all black front glass look. Boy were they right, it looks sick! Don't regret it one bit!

I was planning to get white but looking at all those sensors i'll go with black version.
Also originally planned on the white one, but all those sensors made the black front more appealing.
Thanks for the input. I will check the images out a little closer.

You nailed it about the sensors. They stand out on the white. Thanks for the heads up.

I was watching this review using a white one, that is about 24 minutes long. I didn't mind the sensors at all. I thought about that, but it's not such a big deal to me. And you can only get champaign trim with the white front. I did get a black leather back though, just because I didn't want the back looking discolored over time.

All my phones have been white lately. I get them used so little choice in color. If buying new, I'd go for a darker color (black/dk blue, etc). Same for the back. Hides the dirt/wear better.

Edit: i put a thin case on my phones anyway then usually hand them down to my wife or son.

Ok guys seriously we have to figure this one out xD
Everyone on the internet sais that white phones get really ugly and dirty/yellow after like 3 months of using them.
It seems the grey Note II is having delivery issues here in Germany, but the white one is not soooo...
well are the rumors true, is white such a unpractical color for a smartphone? What about using the phone in a very dark room?
Does the white phone distract from the movie or book or whatever you do with the phone?
Im having trouble deciding xD either i wait another 2 weeks for grey version or i take white version on monday.....
opinions please, thanks!
Just get the white...it's not nearly as bad as you would think. At least that was the case with my Note 1.....the back cover does get a little dingy after a while. But those are easy enough to replace. Or just get a case. As far as media goes there is no problem i noticed.
get a cover some white devices are prone to staining but not all and the note 2 should be using hyperglaze which shouldnt be very prone to staining
Who would buy the white if they goes yellow so easily?!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Well ive had the white HTC Sensation XE and it did turn a bit yellowish after say 5 months or so, but it goes completely clean after u just rub it with an eraser.. the material is however different from the Note 2 which is my next phone in Titanium gray,
its a personal preference to me, as i have used a white phone all this long so now i will turn to gray,
But i wonder if the plastic body of the note will easily catch a yellowish color, it will look really bad... hence i myself will not prefer a white Note 2,
It looks awesome in grey too though..
Blue could be a nice color too
I prefere the Titanium over the white, but I also think the Pebble Blue would look nice too
The titanium definitely looks awesome, but I don't think the white would stain at all from my experiences with the SGS3.

Which is all of how many months?
Is anyone else bothered with dust packing in around the little gap around the screen? Best seen in light. And only visible on the grey.

The blue s3 had the same problem (I've got a white note 2 after reading about this problem).
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
I just use a little detailing brush every other day or so on my Pebble blue S3 to handle that. One of the downfalls to not selecting the white model.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
YES, I too see it, being quite particular it really annoys me! I just use a very fine make up brush (not mine obviously!!) that seems to do the trick.
I had to change to white because of it

Whats seen cannot be unseen, dammit!
Didnt notice it until now. Should've never read this thread :crying:
had mine for 2 weeks bought from handtec. Just noticed the dust issue and slight gap between the top body and screen, plenty of dust so I've decided to return it for another grey one. tempted to get white but I know I will regret it few days after so sticking to grey as it looks much better.
Cant see one spec of dust in mine, but surely switching to a white will make it show up more?

I just got my Note 2 titanium grey today. I saw it too, around the corner. Will use it for another day to see if it gets worse. Any idea why it is affecting the Grey model only?
Edit: It is most definetly my scratch guard. Not the dust. Sorry for the wrong info. But I am still curious could anyone post a pic?

I really don't buy the fact, that it happens on a particular coloured device, it's the exact same phone! Just a different colour, if it happens to X it'll happen to Y.
It's not like the white ones have a differently designed front where it doesn't have the gap, they are both the same. If dust does get in there, you'll only see/notice the dust that gets contrasted by the colour of the phone, lighter colours would show up more on the grey, where as darker colours should show up more on the white.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
I have the dust "problem", but I don't care as don't affect the screen and it is almost invisible.
It's less visible on the white. I've had blue s3 and white s3 same issue with them.
There is variable gaps on the grey also, I've had 2 Grey. Take a paper and drag across the gap. Does it fall in you will get dust filling up. The good thing about the white one is that dust is not so visible.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
For me, this will be minor issue. Note 1 has the same. Taking a sheet of paper and sliding it gently through the gaps helps remove dust. Can hardly see it. imo despite picking up fingerprints like crazy, grey seems like the classiest colour.
I like things staying pristine but gosh, if I were going to worry about eg. possible dust build up between keys on pc keyboard, would go nuts! Gotta accept, its gonna happen. Hopefully casemate or others will produce a tough case that covers these gaps.

I wish Google would have launched it with the white version as an option! I guess my white carbon fiber dbrand skins on the front an back will have to do for me. If the display of the white version was also white, then I'd probably sell mine and buy it in white. Anyone else like the new white version?

but anyway i wouldnt sell mine for that one (i mean, i preffer white, but hell it's not a big difference) and lot of users use covers
Just the backplate is white. The bezel is still black. I recently popped off my N7 cover and there are lots of built in antennas and connectors. Don't know if 3rd party manufacturers could make replacements. Probably.

I'm not shook up. I love the 2001 monolith look. In fact, if it ever fails, you could say it will be Ku-bricked...
I'll show myself the door, thanks.
Never understood that decision. If you make a white device, make it all white; not just the back.
You put a cover/case on it, and it makes no difference.

My thoughts exactly.
Yea, just buy a white feather case and BAM
Coming from AMOLED screens, I do find the white bezel contrast helps make the LCD "blacks" look darker. That is one of the annoying things about coming from an AMOLED where you can't tell where the screen starts/stops to an LCD where you can distinctively see the LCD panel compared to a black black panel border.
I've never owned a white device. I wanted a white G2, but Verizon only sold it in black... well now there is a white one. My N7... now there is a white one. I dunno. There are companies who make the Glass style screen protectors that actually have painted undercoats that can change the color and appearance of the front bezels. I'm waiting for a white review unit for my G2.

Style options create inventory management and supply chain complexity. The more parts in common between styles, the lower the level of complexity.

EXACTLY!! Not sure why some manufacturers understand that concept, and some don't. I realize that it keeps the production costs down, as they don't have to remanufactuer the front half. I for one wouldn't mind paying a little more for an ALL white version though!

I wanna put the original blue back (when it's available) on my white model.
I originally wanted the blue, but since that wasn't available, I went with the white. I've always had black devices in the past and have grown tired of that color. Decided to try something new this time and definitely not regretting that choice.

Although I have a poll for this thread, I'm sure it could never capture all the various things everyone will do. But how do you plan to order your Moto X Style/Pure?
I'm so happy about this one, I'm going the whole 9 yards:
SD Card Slot
64GB
Black Leather back
Some custom text on the back.
Who knows, if they offer more, I may get that too .
Edit: Sorry for including the MicroSD as a poll option. I didn't realize it was part of the stock spec at the time.
I didn't understand the SD card was an add on.

Also not sure if I will get Leather or the Silcon type of backing. I think I need to feel both before I buy, as I hate the feeling of silicon cases so wonderig if it will be same ... but surely it cant be because the Silicon cases feel tacky and cheap.

Not my preference, but always props to MKB .
I'm starting to think I won't get any text on the back. That may not go over well in certain business and formal settings.
So I'll get the black leather, with probably silver accents. The front will also be black.

No idea yet on any accents and as for engraving...welllllll, I tend to sell my phones so I doubt that anyone will want someone else's name engraved on their newly purchased used phone!

Charcoal Ash.
Yeah I was thinking this exact set up ... however not sure if I'd like the feel of the wood, this is my only issue at the minute that we cant see the options in person. Not sure where I would be able to in the UK once its released.

I was thinking the same, but I am worried about the grip, considering how big it is. Now thinking regular black back with blue metal accent. I love the charcoal ash and walnut backs, but not sure how practical they are for the long term.
While I'd prefer the bamboo or walnut backs, I think I'm going with Ebony. Engraving appears to stand out better on that back. So yes on the engraving and I'm hoping to grab the 64GB.
I hope they come out with a keyboard accessory like the note 5! :/
