Hmm, seems that Google won't even let you order the 16GB version anymore. I was going to order one yesterday after I gave up trying to find one locally. I had it in my cart ready for checkout but didn't have my wallet on me as I wanted to put it on a different card than the one tied to Google Play account. However in a bit of laziness I figured I would just order it tomorrow (today) as placing the order Sat night vs Sun Morning really wasn't going to matter much in terms of when it would come. So I get my card, sit down at my computer to now discover that the add to cart button has been replaced by "Notify Me". You can still order the 8GB version but not the 16. Grrr. I would rather have the ability to order it and tell me it will be a couple weeks.
Oh well back to my Nook Color and Thunderbolt.
Anyone else able to still order?
Well if they are having trouble keeping up with orders then it makes sense to be honest about it, rather than let people order then say 'oh by the way we won't have any for weeks'. After the fiasco with the pre-orders it makes a lot more sense. I presume it is temporary until they catch up with all the pre-orders.
And to answer your question the UK playshop also has a 'notify me' button.
.
I am sure it is a temp issue of demand far exceeding supply with the 16 GB version. Add in the fact that there are always going to be units shipped that need to be replaced for whatever reason which we have seen reports on and I get that it will be a while. I just am kicking myself for not walking out to my shop on Sat night to grab my wallet. For me it is easier than sitting around waiting for an email from them saying it is OK to place an order. I get so many emails it is pretty likely that I will miss it. So I will likely just keep an eye out in Google Play to see if it pops up from time to time.
I haven't read all posts on this thread but as far as i know if your trying to order it online for local pick-up. I know for sure that Walmart can ship to store if you request it, honestly i need 4x 32gb sdcards and i ordered thru walmart and had it send to my local store for pick-up.
Another thing is amazon, they're a lot cheaper plus they have deals on shipping. Im not sure if this post is helpful at all, but please give positive feedback to me. im a noobie to forums but i do know what im talking about
Oh god this better not affect my replacement unit that I've requested to replace my faulty 16gb unit from the play store. Friggin one line of dead pixels across the bottom of the screen.

No I was wondering why they pulled the ability to order from Google Play. I was looking locally but couldn't find anything so I was going to just order off
Play and wait for it. However while I could order the 8GB version the 16GB would only say let me know when it is available. This has been confirmed by the CNN article that popped up today.
CNN link
Earlier today I tried again and saw I could now order it but didn't have the card with me as I normally don't use it. So when I get home I jump on the computer to try and order. Back to send me an email when available. grrrr. Well I just tried again and it let me place the order. It is confirmed in my Google Wallet so we will see how long it sits there. It is kind of odd that the issue seems to come and go. Sometimes you can order and other times you can't. So if you want to wait for the email you have that option if you get that message. Or you can keep trying and it may take your order. I went back through all the emails sent to my Gmail account that I set up notification with and still no email from Google saying it was available for order.

oh ok haha i miss read it. sorry
Well as I suspected still no email from Google saying I can order it but I did get confirmation and a tracking number showing my 16GB has shipped. The email request was sent to a different email address than my Google one. So it isn't like they skipped sending me the notification because I already bought one.
I should have it tomorrow at the earliest or more likely on Monday.
I registered for the Samsung Pay Beta program yesterday. Today I received a mail that I've been accepted in the Beta Program. I happily started the Samsung Pay app and it showed a new screen for installation. I installed it. The interface looks good. You can just scan the card and it captures the card number and expiry date automatically. Rest of the information has to be filled manually. However, It didn't accept my CHASE or AMEX card. It gives following error:-

Looks like very limited participants are available for Beta Program. I received a mail from AmEx that my card couldn't be added and when I called their customer support, they said the particular Corporate ard I'm trying to add isn't supported to the Beta program, however, it would be available 28th Sept onward (official launch). The Chase however have no idea about Samsung Pay. They said they are aware of only Apple Pay.
I have it as well. It will only work with US Bank or Bank of America (Visa Debit or Visa Credit card). I also tried my other cards just to see if they would work, nothing else is accepted yet. I did call customer service for all of my cards (Amex, Chase, Barclay's, American Airlines CC and Capital One) and they said they will work with Samsung Pay near the end of September.
Looks like Samsung is just minimizing the testing to keep control of things. Worked perfect at Panera with my B of A Debit Visa card. Of course the girl thought it was an IPhone. Knew that was coming hahahaha

The inevitable... :silly:
I didn't realize this when I used it the other day but Samsung Pay is actually integrated into your lock screen and every screen screen even after you unlock your phone. I previously accessed Samsung Pay through the app as that is how I was use to accessing Google Wallet.
So here is how you quick access it:
Once you turn the screen on, you will see a small tab floating above the home key that says Samsung Pay.
Swipe it up (without unlocking the screen). Choose a card you want to use, then once you want to use it, you use finger print to unlock it. The phone will start vibrating and have some animation on the screen to indicate you can now pay.
If you have your phone unlocked and you were previously using it, you simply swipe up and bam there it is.
I guess in the excitement yesterday I didn't see this. The Samsung pay tab is so small, if you are on auto pilot using your phone you will miss it.

Applepay doesn't support MST and there isn't a way for the phone to know there is a MST terminal in front of it. NFC is 2 way which is why it works for that. They could possibly make it work automatically with NFC capable terminals but it would likely just confuse some people about when it's automatic and when it's manual. I don't find it hard to use at all in its current form.

Well, the Beta programs (Samsung or no Samsung) intend to execute a trial run before the actual services are officially released. Would make no sense if nobody enrolls in it, don't you agree ?

Samsung Pay is a payment system which uses NFC and MST. Once you've added your card, you can go to any retailer and pay using your phone instead of your card. If the retailer has an NFC system, you can simply tap your phone onto the NFC section of the payment system and authenticate using PIN/Fingerprint and the payment should be made. Otherwise, if the retailer has traditional magnetic card swiping payment system, just start the Samsung Pay and bring it near the edge of the Payment System where card is required to be swiped. Use PIN/Fingerprint for authentication and the payment should be made easily.
Try googling about Samsung Pay, you'll know more in details.

I'd say it's significantly safer than carrying a physical card around since anyone could rob you and use it where as samsung pay couldn't be used unless they chopped off your finger when they stole the phone and at that point the cashier would be suspicious I'm thinking.

We're talking about Samsung here.. You could trust them with your contacts, messages, social media credentials, banking apps and you can't trust them with Samsung Pay. Really ? May be you don't use banking apps (I thought you may bring that up again), and that's okay. It's your hard earned money, I'm sure you know how to handle it better than anybody else does. You might wanna look into Samsung Knox bdw (just for information purpose), its even NSA approved.

And even if someone manages to do all that, one can simply call the bank to nullify the transaction. A chopped finger would suffice as a proof! :cyclops:

I think the toeknization is the real value here. When you go to target and buy something they don't actually have access to your card info, they have a token because the card info stays at the payment processor and is activated by the token. At least that's how I understand it.
Hell, in theory, if target gets hacked and your token is compromised they can do a mass update and scramble the tokens only for cards used at target in the last X number of days.
IMHO this is exponentially safer than using your card at a store. Skimmers are probably less effective too, all kinds of joy with this innovation.
They should of had all major banks on board. So people dont sit around and think about why it may not be safe. Big mistake not not have a feature ready by launch. I have capital one and Wellsfargo and i am waiting not even knowing if they will ever sign on.

As long as they are VISA or Master Card, they should work. Atleast that's what I understand. Also, there are only limited banks supported for Beta, you should try Capital One and Wellsfargo after 28th.

American express, Visa, MasterCard and some large banks are on board - seems to be a pretty good backing and show of support to me. Anyone that thinks it isn't safe clearly has no idea of how the system works because it's actually significantly safer than a standard card.
Just got my Samsung Pay Beta activated on my phone two days ago (Sprint GS6) and I wanted to share my experience. In short, it works brilliantly. I tried it today for the first time. I have my chip & pin Bank of America card attached to it.
The first place I tried was Walgreens. They have NFC readers, but I turned off NFC because I wanted to try the MST part to see how good it would work. As soon as the cashier told me how much I had to pay, I put my phone up to the reader and it worked almost instantly. I was actually surprised at how fast it was, even faster than NFC (Google Wallet) from my past experiences. The cashier didn't even flinch or ask questions, I guess she is used to people paying with their phones.
The second place I tried was Dollar Tree. I pretty much did the same thing, as soon as she told me the price I held the phone to the reader and it worked instantly. This time the cashier had never seen someone pay with their phone. She asked me if I had just paid with my phone and I said yes. She told me I was very advanced and modern (she was an older lady) and the old lady behind me said the same thing. She was smiling the whole time I was walking out the door. I laughed and told them it was the new Samsung Pay.
So far it has been a really nice positive experience from ease of use, to cashier response. I need to try it at more places obviously. Just one thing to mention, when the phone is off and you pull up the credit card, you have to swipe up all the way to the middle of the screen for it to recognize what you are trying to do and turn on. I wish they made it a smaller swipe motion.
I'll update this as I try it at more places. I plan on getting the Gear S2 Classic, so I'm excited to try NFC on that as well.

Yeah. I wasn't at first but I fixed that quick. Wiped the galaxy app store, account, Samsung pay and samsumg÷ app. I even tried downloading someone else's Samsung pay and framework app. That got me further. I was able to get all the way to where it sees your login and I hit next it tries to load but fails.

I've read that it takes a few days to show up for some people, I hope it works soon for you.
used it the other day. Strange experience. but it worked flawlessly at Home Depot
Its also cool you can swipe up with the screen off and active it so you dont have to have it active all the time
(FYI: i had to call Samsung Pay to get beta activated because this is my 2nd phone and they had tied to the original IMEI i had)
Tried it at GameStop today and the MST worked flawlessly. Only this time the cashier asked me for the last 4 digits of the card. Samsung just updated the app yesterday and now it shows the last 4 digits of the digital card right under the last 4 digits of the real card. It did not show that before, so it is a nice update. Showed him my phone and was out the door. He was totally confused about the whole transaction, had never seen it done before.

Reported the same bug and got a ticket in as well. It seems to break both the top IR blaster (used by the Peel remote) and the proximity IR emitter on the front (used by Beep'nGo).
I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what was wrong with my IR Blaster. I'm glad my hunch was right and that Samsung Pay (once a card is activated in the software) is the culprit.
Well, I was very excited to see Samsung Pay available for my use today. After the hour or so of updates that I needed, I went to start adding cards to it. Out of about 6 cards in my wallet, only one actually works. So, yeah, it's great that it can be used at more places than Google Pay or Apple Pay, but only with one of my cards, which happens to be an AmEx, which also means that it's NOT accepted at a lot of places.
Also, when I tried using it at the grocery store, I couldn't get it to work. I kept holding it near the card swipe slot, moving the phone around, never got it.

This depends on the given country and also the local banks AFAIK.
I got it activated today and added a card.
Seems a bit laggy at times,
It's froze a couple of times on me.
Have yet to try it, I will next time IF I REMEMBER lol.
Gotta get used to it.
Also Question, do you have to have NFC activated or android beam in order to use sam pay?

Nope. NFC is merely a fallback if it cannot do a MST. I keep NFC off just to try and get MST sales to go through.
I just used Samsung pay at auto zone. . It was so easy and effortless! !

Hey guys,
So I thought I'd make an account and post that I still have a Note 7 on VZW and it's still functioning, it doesn't seem to be re-directing calls to Verizon's customer support.
A bit about why this may be:
I turned in my Note 7 last year and got a Pixel XL. This Note 7, which was on my wife's account in December was swapped with my old Nexus 6P. Since we never actually ordered a replacement phone on my wife's line, about a week or two ago we finally received a box to return her Note 7, which we have not done yet. I decided to go ahead and put my Pixel XL's SIM in to the Note 7, and everything seems to work perfectly.
I even wiped the phone and I'm not getting any update notifications, if I check for updates I am told that there is one available (no description on what it does like usual) and am asked if I would like to install the update with three options. Yes, Later, or no. I clicked no and no further prompts occur.
If you guys who are still holding out on your Note 7 want any information or anything to perhaps figure out workarounds, let me know and I will do what I can.
They will most likely brick the SIM in your note 7 tonight at midnight. Expect it to happen. They can certainly tell what kind of phone the sim is in, even if the sim was originally in a different phone. Most likely any sim in a note 7 that is connected to a Verizon network will be bricked. Today is literally the last day our N7's will work with a Verizon SIM. Unless there have been some last minute changes to what VZ is going to do - and I doubt that, as they have already been bricking peopls sims in N7's for at least a week now - the chances are almost certain that your N7 will not work sometime later tonight.
Still going strong with my note 7 everything works perfect like it should on Verizon
Sent from my Explosive Galaxy Note 7
They won't "brick" a sim card. It called a hot-line. Its done on the server to disable certain functions from certain models. Its easily reversed and can be avoided.

Are you suggesting that there's something that we can do / could have done to retain service to our Note7's?
I had my N7 hot lined by Verizon on 1/26. 3 days later I had my N4 activated on the line after telling an online chat rep that I had misplaced the 7. Texts still didn't work, so after another online chat and again having to confirm my N7 wasn't in my possession they fixed it. I figured since both agents were eager to fix the line, but only if I had returned the N7 or "lost" it that it was pretty likely I'd be able to activate my 7 again. I waited a few days for the 1/31 deadline for hotlines to pass and went and activated this beautiful black onyx Note 7, and voila it worked. Unless they manually church imei on an account that's been signed off as no longer being tied to a n7 and in good standing, I think I'm all good till the N8.

HAHAHA
The reason I ask is that, when I found that service had been cut to my Note7 I wasn't able to reactivate my Note 4 via the MyVerizon portal- I actually had to call into Verizon to do it. I was told by*multiple Customer Service Reps that they had put a block on the SIM card itself, not the actual device. Furthermore, while trying to reactivate my Note 4 (which had been working just fine the week before) they killed that SIM too... It ended up taking umpteen phone calls, 3 online chats, and a trip to the Verizon store (all-in-all, basically an entire afternoon) just to get*my Note 4 reactivated with*a*new SIM.
I'm just trying to avoid going through that process again.

I hear ya I too was hesitant just because I didn't feel like having too contact them again after saying the N7 was lost and have it mysteriously in my possession and trying to connect to the network. During my 1st contact after N7 data went down I did mention I was an attorney and that what they were doing was really gray legally. All I got from only online chat reps was that my number had been hot lined and that they would fix it. Halfway through activating my note 4 they asked if I had returned n7 I said no I didn't see how it was even relevant but that I had lost it. Not another word. But my texts did not work. So next day again via online chat the rep asked about the N7. I said I "misplaced" it. She asked when. I said 3 days prior, 1/26. The day they hot lined it. She didn't say anything else, asked me to reboot the note 4 and it was calling and texting again. Fast forward five days I went to Verizon and activated my "misplaced" N7 via online hub without issue. No mention off a sim card ever and I touched neither phones sim card since the days I bought the phones.

Back on the Note 4. I'll give it a day or two before attempting to reactivate my Note7. As of now, there's been nothing to indicate that this round of hotlining will have different results than the last.

That's why I reactivated my Note 4, then trimmed down the SIM and used today. I now have 3-4 Nano SIM Cards, and a Nano to Micro SIM adapters. Assuming the hotlining will continue on a weekly basis, I'll just reactivate my Note 4 with one of the Nano SIMs not in use, then slip it into my Note7.
The first time I was hotlined, I didn't do any SIM swapping. I reactivated my Note 4 then, a few days later, went online and reactived my Note7 that was still loaded with SIM that had been hotlined.

Hi guys. I've been going with this for about a week or two now, similar to you guys and want to share my experience. My device was purchased through 3rd party means, and has no purchase history in my Verizon account. I was hot lined this past Tuesday, the 7th. I called and was on the phone with a manager for over an hour, who was extremely reluctant to help me (obviously). She told me that the recall had changed status to involuntary, and that Samsung is forcing them to hot line the phones due to whatever reason.
This is obviously crap, but boy was she reluctant to prove it and everything. So i said whatever and hung out. Two days later, I went to reactivate the phone on using their Online activation, and I received an error message saying my account was blocked from doing so. I spoke with an online rep who reactivated my phone with no questions asked. I asked her if there was anything wrong with my account or line, to which she said No. I asked her about anything relating to hot line and she told me specifically this: "If a Note7 is active on the line, block services to drive customer to upgrade". She totally disregarded the message, and said she'll place a flag on my account that if I continue to have an interrupt of service, I will look into it further.
It's obvious that if you are hot lined, and your calls get redirected to Verizon's special reps specifically for Note7 users, and will be their to assist you and leave you with no choice but to upgrade. If you contact verizon differently, whether it be over the phone through their normal tech lines or through their web portal, you are handled by the run of the mill employees who either don't care, or aren't told to handle your case by special means. Just keep fighting them.

....Beautiful, simply beautiful. THIS has been the answer I've been trying to squeeze out of the Verizon rep's from going to the local store, chat and even 3+ hour phone sessions. Literally all i needed to know was if my device's info was being broadcasted from the sim card that was previously hot wired!! It seems like it is therefore all i need now is to activate my old note 3. have it activated for a bit then shave that card down to fit the note 7. Go to the store and get a new sd card for the note 3 then activate and reactivate on a weekly basis until the note 8 comes out. Still looks like there is a way to Limp to the finish line with this recall/hotline issue.

Interesting, i was told that the service of hotlining phones were "automatically done by a computer at Samsung" -__- . Yes Samsung the manufacturer not the one providing service to the phone and literally got the run around for hours. So what im getting from your entry here is that they're are explicitly told to deny, deny, deny until you're give up and use an upgrade which will tie you to a phone for 2 years that you never wanted in the first place or activate an old device that you'll have to keep upwards of about 6 months until the note 8 comes out.. Unless you find that Golden employee that either doesn't know or doesn't care and will restore service to the phone even if its temporary. Ok *opens support Verizon chat* lets do this again..
Although this process of hotlining our phones affects our SIM cards (and not our phones), it isn't permanent. A few days after my first hotlining, I was able to reactivate my Note7 still using the original SIM card.

By activating a different device in place of it, then activating the note 7?
Or just deactivating the device waiting a few days and reactivating it?
I'm trying to register my devices (s8 & S8+) for the Samsung Promotions but I keep getting IMEI or Mac-Address not found... I have tmobile phones, anyone else have success in registering their phones?
Might have to wait until Friday which is technically the release date. The Lg promotions for the g6 had the same issue.
Yeah mine isn't working either. I'll wait until Friday or Saturday and try again.
Got mine done with no issues but when I hit the order button for the vr, headphones and sdcard it said my cart was empty. Called samsung via home phone and on hold for 25 minutes. She said she would straighten it out, got a call back in 15 minutes and she took my credit card information via phone, received an email stating the order went through. Asked her when she thought they would ship and she said after the 20th.
I would highly recommend doing it from the phone rather than their web site. Mine went through okay but I wanted the headphones bundle. Even though I had that selected, it processed it as vr only it looks like. Still stuck waiting for them on the phone.
wtf.. You may want to check your email. I tried and kept getting errors. I wanted to pay the extra $99. I get an email that says my submission was approved. It was approved for just the headset. On the website it wouldn't take my im/wifi mac on Samsung pay it kept saying socket errors. Somehow it went through for the just the headset. I'm on the phone now...
no issues registering for, and then ordering, the full immersion package through the Shop Samsung app. Just got the confirmation email that my order is being processed and I will get another email when it ships via 2-day air. One strange quirk, though... after I initially registered for the $99 promo option, I got an email saying that they had received my promo request and it could take up to 2 weeks to be processed, at which time I would receive another email with next steps on how to complete the order. That was yesterday. Today, I went back into the Shop Samsung app and saw the order option in the promo tab and it worked like a charm.
What are you all using for proof of purchase in the shop samsung app?
I thought this promotion was supposed to be free! What's this $99 all about?!

$99 is for getting AKG headphone and 256GB MicroSD card which apparently have a combined retail value of $300-$400 something. Also this is in addition to the VR bundle you anyways get for free
Submitted through app, said I was under review, just checked through the website and it says approved.
Mine is worked fine. I used samsung shop app
The app says I've been approved but no where does it give me the option to buy it.

Same
Also had success in the samsung shop app after a failed attempt on the website.
I really wish they'd do this kind of promotions in europe...
Applied 30 minutes ago, went with the upgraded package, did it on the comp, instant approval, went to click the buy button, and the page didn't load with no way to get back to it. 10 minutes later I get an email confirming the approval and a link to buy the upgraded package. Clicked the link and it added it to my cart. Interesting thing is it seems that you can order more than 1 (or at least change the quantity), only ordered 1 though so don't know if you can actually get more. Checked out and got an order confirmation. Says it's expected to ship in 2-3 days with expedited shipping.
Someone who doesn't want their vr? In Europe we get nothing
Thanks dude didn't, thing about ordering threw the app. I did the first part on the website and thought I would have to wait the two weeks for the immersive bundle. Props
