And put their own, or is the one the Op2 comes with good protection enough?
I took it off to replace with a spigen hd one. But it is a good one. Should have left it. Haha
Yeah I replaced mine with a glass one. The one on it is not to bad though. I just like glass protection and the feel.
Took it off today to replace with tempered glass, but it's OK protection for free.

Same as everyone else - I replaced it today after maybe 6-7 days and threw tempered glass on there. Smudge-free now.
Same. Replaced with tempered glass after a few days..prefer the feel and protection of tempered glass.

Well my uncle bough the opt for me, and I bought a tampered glass protector from OP for it, but my uncle says to use this one until it gets dirty then use the protector ;~; I can't argue since he bought me teh phone..

I have the tempered glass one for it from one plus but will wait a few days. Hard to believe it will be smudge free after I put it on. I was just concerned taking the free one off that it would leave some kind of residue.
It's a piece of cheap plastic which does no favors for either protection or screen clarity. Replace it with tempered glass, the difference is HUGE.

I have a pthink tempered protector coming, what's the best way to remove the original and replace with the tempered without dust and stuff getting underneath? Last time I tried I failed miserably and frisbeed the glass on into the wall
I just dislike screen protectors. Never had a problem with scratches on any phone in the past.
I ended up taking it off and put on tempered glass, I recommend it.

Which one did you install? Really smudge free?
Anyone installed the Non Glass screen protector from OnePlus ?
I have it and I'm wondering if it's better than the factory installed one.
I replaced mine with one of the Orzly tempered glass protectors, and it's WAY better than the stock. The stock one is fine, but it's a fingerprint/smudge magnet, and it's not as smooth as a glass protector. I've used Orzly protectors on all my devices and they're fantastic. The one I had on my 1+1 saved the screen after a drop in a parking lot. The protector took the impact and shattered instead of the screen.
Took off the free one in 24 hours. It was good except it was a fingerprint magnet. So many smudges. Happy with tempered glass.
I removed the stock, then applied the orzly tempered glass right after. Definite improvement!

The easy way of getting this explained is this. The phone comes with a thin layer that is OK at best. If you have a flip case then you might be happy with that but if your screen is going to be exposed then purchase a tempered glass 1. If your going to invest money in a device and it quite obvious that you will be looking at the screen a lot then protect it. Its not like it's gonna break the bank and you will never worry. ☺

I just got my G5 Plus. I want to know that is ok to have nothing on screen for protection or I get a screen protector or tempered glass?
Btw which ram variant you got? 4 GB one? How's initial impression? All good?
Yeah, 4GN one... All seems perfect... All good... Took pics as well.., Pic was very good crisp and very good
Screen protectors only protect from micro scratches, which will in any case be minimal on a gorilla glass protected display. Tempered glass (in india) are the cheapest possible slabs of glass with adhesive which makes any mobile look goofy and cheap. I really dont think either of this protects your phone in case of a fall. get a nice case and be done with.
Cool. I am waiting for mine to be delivered
Oh and ya I'll be using glass protector for bestest safety.
@ batmobile_bang Yeah I will be getting a good case for sure but was asking about the screen. As it attracts fingerprints so I was thinking to have screen protector on it. What you think? will it be good to have screen protector?
BTW i hate tempered glass
I am waiting for neelkin cases and screen glass to get released.
Subject of post
Yes, there's a bunch of reports online stating that the phone comes with a pre-applied screen protector.
only the early oneplus one didnt have one but the later oneplus one did come with one preapplied and then the later models up to the 3t do have them.
The specs on the official page states there is one pre-fitted
Does the screen protector hold up or does it start coming off like most do?

I still have the OEM screen protector that came on my OnePlus 2 and I don't use any kind of case... there are a FEW tiny scratches on it but it's still pretty much as good as the day I got the phone. I don't see any reason why the one on the 5 will be any less awesome
rAy
So there's no need to get the official screen protector? https://oneplus.net/oneplus-5-3d-tempered-glass-screen-protector
Or is this one better than the pre-installed protector?

The included one is just a standard plastic protector. The one you linked to is a tempered glass screen protector. While it is thicker, and susceptible to cracking, the one I used on my OPO was delightful to the touch.
Is it recommended to remove the factory screen protector before applying the official tempered glass protector? Or can you simply apply it on top of the factory protector.

Of course
I got my 5 about a week ago and so far I'm loving it. It replaced my old Samsung Galaxy S5.
I had my S5 for more than 3 years and never used a screen protector and ended up with no scratches on the screen.
The 5 came with a screen protector that I hate (attracts dust and is already coming away from the screen). But I've been too scared to take it off.
My question is: do I need a screen protector? My assumption was that the screen would be at least as scratch resistant as my old S5 but wanted to see what you guys think? I'm pretty careful with my phone and do have a case.
Thanks!

I personally put a tempered glass screen protector on all my devices, no matter how much the company says the screen is extremely durable.
The way I think of it is, that it's just a small 10-15 dollar investment that will protect your screen just in case you experience a brutal drop! Better safe than sorry lol

The OnePlus 5 has a corning gorilla glass 5 display, whereas the Samsung Galaxy S5 has a corning gorilla glass 3 display, so, if you felt safe with your S5, then you should be good with no screen protector on the OnePlus 5, although I would recommend a screen protector just in case, because everyone drops their phone at least once. (Also, if you didn't know, corning gorilla 5 is made with a stronger material than corning gorilla glass 3, so, its better for taking hits. Of course don't go throwing your phone at a brick wall.)

I haven't used a screen protector on any of my phones in years and have never gotten scratches on a phone screen. Ever. I think they are a pain to put on perfectly and detract from the aesthetics and usability of the phone. If you drop your phone a lot or walk around with it bobbing around in your pocket or purse or gym bag maybe you need one. Some people do claim that Gorilla Glass 5 isn't as scratch resistant as the company claims and that it actually scratches easier than earlier versions of GG so maybe I will regret not getting a screen protector down the road but I doubt it.

I think u should apply a screen protector on it. Based on my experience. Gorilla Glass 4 and above scratch so easily. Used Galaxy S i-9000, Galaxy S3, Nexus 4, Oneplus One in the past and never got any scratches on the screen without screen protector. While Xiaomi Mi 5 and my current Oneplus 5 scratch so easily just being inside my empty pocket, kinda regretted not putting the screen protector in the first place
This is just my guess but, I think that's why LG put Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and gorilla Glass 5 on back and not both gorilla glass 5, since 3 is more scratch resistant than the 5.
It's all about hardness vs resistance. Glass is hard but not resistant, plastic is the opposite. Cornilla Glass is a mix inbetween tending to one side or the other depending on versions.
But in general, people prefer a screen with a few scratches that you can avoid with proper care to a shattered screen due to one small drop. So I'm not surprised later versions aren't as scratches resistant as older ones.
Thanks everyone for the responses! Really good information here. Good to know about Corning Glass 5 vs 3.
Will start researching a tgsp in the accessories forum.

I got a couple light scratches on my galaxy s8 after a week without a screen protector. It only made contact with my fingers and the inside of my pocket with nothing else there. So basically it must have been scratched by dust in my pocket. I ended up putting a screen protector on it days before selling it right before my op5 arrived. The factory protector is staying on mine until the glass protector I ordered comes in.
It does seem like they scratch much easier than the earlier versions.
Hi I'm posting to point out that the OP5 that I received yesterday already has a screen protector.
All them have one, but it's just a plastic one.

So far it's going well. But yes, it catches EVERYTHING :silly:
I just removed mine last night after getting tired of the dust. I swear. It must be statically charged or something!
Of course, now I don't want to put a protector on because the glass feels so smooth

I'm leaving it on mine until the glass one I ordered comes in. It will still keep it from getting scratches. Just no drop protection.
Took the plastic screen protector off right away cause I couldn't stand all the dust and lint that it collected. Bought a few glass screen protectors but all have had some sort of issue so not using any of them. Have been using the phone with just the sandstone case for a few weeks now and haven't had any scratches so far!
I'm looking for glass with quality similar to Whitestone Dome.
Anyone found any?
Hm... Have only experience with one glass protector so far and it's bad.
I've purchased this one and despite its perfect fit, no bubbles nor dust particles, the response to touch is dreadful.
I'm thinking if glass for OnePlus 10 Pro will fit X5 Pro.
Ok, so if no one knows I've checked.
Yes Whitestone Dome Glass for OnePlus 10 Pro is perfect for Oppo Find X5 Pro.
Does it affect touch sensitivity?
The 9H glass protector that I've applied doesn't adversely influence the 'slide'-actions response but it annihilates the capability to process 'tap'-actions.
I thought I'd just need to get used to harder pressing but even after a couple of weeks, it's just frustrating to constantly having to retry each tap over and over again.
So, now I'm wondering if this is just inherent to the product properties of (hardened) glass protectors out there and I'd better go for foil again.
Or give another brand glass protector a chance.

Having to press hard and multiple times in order to trigger a response was too frustrating so I removed the glass screen protector and replaced it with a TPU one from Crocfol.
What a relief! I just wish I'd make this choice sooner as it'd have save me the €'s spent on the useless glass thing.
Also looking for a screen protector since the Gorila Glass quality is really poor. Around 6 months of use and I'll already see lots of small scratches...
Anymore recommendations on the TPU ones?
Best full glued tempered glass Display protector I could find in germany. Even the fingerprint scanner works great. https://www.subtel.de/2x-displaysch...?listtype=search&searchparam=Oppo find x5 pro

I normally use Ibywind TPU screen protectors... I've got one for the 5X Pro, but haven't installed it yet (happy with factory). Never had any issues with Ibywind stuff on previous phones, and dead easy to fit well due to the charging adapter plug they supply to line it all up
