I'm going to look stupid here, but ...
Received HD today in USA and wanted to charge it. But I do not know HOW ???!!!!
I plugged USB cord into HD itself, and other end - into AC Adapter.
Now AC Adapter looks strange to me ... the pins are INSIDE of adapter, so I cannot plug it into the wall electric outlet !
I do not have any plug to put it into AC Adapter! It suppose to come with one ?
What do I do now ?

Did you plug the power-pin adapter into the AC adapter? You have to put the wall-adapter onto the AC charger itself, then connect the usb cord to the ac adapter, then plug in the phone...

I just received mine today too. The piece that goes into the wall plugs into to piece that you plug the USB cable into. Now the plug that comes with the HD is for the UK or maybe Europe in general I am not sure. Mine came with an adapter that plugs into the two round pins that come standard with the HD. I hope that is clear. In other words if you did not get an adapter that looks like a regular two bladed electrical plug then you will have to get one or you will have to plug it into your computer for now.

Where can I buy USA plug that I can insert into wall outlet (one end) and other end goes to HTC HD AC Adapter ?

go to bestbuy or circuit city or radio shack and purchase a wall charger for the motorola razr. that will work, too.

early on, some owners noted that the HD wouldn't charge that way, even though the display said it was charging.
Don't recall if we ever got to the bottom of if it was via direct USB socket on the PC, or via a USB hub - but basically the phone wasn't getting the full (5.5v?) voltage from the PC.
To charge the HD from the mains, you need 3 pieces of kit, which should all have come in the box.
1) the USB lead
2) a small box sized unit, about 5cm by 3cm by 3cm. It has a USB socket on one end, and the other end has 2 prongs inside a cut out section.
3) the plug bit. This should look like a regular plug, but on the back (the other side to the prongs), you have just a small box, with 2 holes in it. These holes align with the 2 prongs on item 2 above.
Slide 3 into 2, and 1 into 2 too
Depending on where the HD was sourced from, them item 3 may have 3 prongs (if its UK spec) - which obviously won't fit into a US socket.
The writing on item 2 seems to indicate that it will take an inout voltage of 100 - 240V - 0.2A 50-60Hz.
No idea if this means it will work with US mains voltage, sorry.

Mine does, I've never charged it off the mains
Having said that, a lot of motherboards don't allow charging off them, for whatever reason. Maybe they shut down power if there's no data connection after a while, or don't provide enough current etc etc.

Mine seems to charge ok off the (powered) USB hub - but some owners have reported that theirs didn't
I'm just paranoid about batteries (probably overly so!), and like to make sure that the very first charge is a blinking good one
Thats not an issue with lithium ion or lithium polymer batteries, they dont have a memory effect, the first change is not important.

It seems that I'm missing piece# 3 - the plug. Is this some specific plug for HTC HD, or generic ?
If it is special for HTC HD - where can I find it ?
I recommend purchasing the TC P300 International Travel Charger Kit. It's available on Expansys or HTC's accessory store. It's the highest quality kit available and the TC P300 is the actual charge provided with the Touch HD. You only get the EU or UK plug. I could not find a kit of just plugs. A cheaper alternative is the HTC TC P200 International Travel Charger. Also, available from HTC accessory store or Expansys.
This is driving me nuts. Go to an electronics store Best Buy, Future Shop, Circuit City, and take your charger with you, they will hook you up. You might even be able to get a universal charger, I think the ones for Iphones have a USB attachment on them.

yes... u r rite... itz a MICRO USB...
But it can't supply power to a USB device, so it can't be used like a PC USB port. It's only good for recharging and syncing.
so if i want to buy an additional wire, i look for a USB to MICRO USB wire right? no need to buy from HTC right?
cause i saw one usb that is smaller but it doesn't fit.. is there a MINI USB port too?

Actually better take the device with you. Sellers here told me there is like 7 different very similar connectors. However this one should be the standard micro USB, which is supposed to be universal charger/sync cable in the future (at least in EU).
And yes, of course, there is mini USB. And there even are more versions of mini USB, for example HTC used their own.
You had better use HTC cables. HD2 is microusb, but not all microusb cables are good for HD2. Like iPhone, it takes a large charging current, and many no brand cables cannot do it. I've got a third party cable that syncs only, but if charged from the PC, the HD2 will say that the charging current is too small. Battery actually drops when I connect HD2 to PC using this cable (because my options set it that backlight is always on when HD2 is connected). Other combinations are OK:
original cable + AC plug: charging OK
original cable + PC: charging OK
third party cable + AC plug: charging OK
third party cable + PC: "insufficient charging current"
Be careful with cables- you'd be better to buy the genuine HTC version.
Many USB/MicroUSB cables are for charging only, and don't have the data pins connected. Thats OK if you just want to charge it while you are away from your main PC or power supply.
You can also buy a miniUSB/MicroUSB adapter for charging using and older miniSUB charger, but again these don't have the data pins connected.
I bought a number of 3rd party USB to microUSB cables a month ago for sync and charging (office, PC, bedside charging), so far so good... no issues (maybe I'm lucky). The OmniaII uses the same connector, so I'm using the HTC car charger to charge both.
I bought Nokia's cable (for E71,N97,etc.) and it work just fine with charging from laptop. much cheaper than HTC in here.

The iPhone charger coud be used for charging HD2. Just plug the microUSB cord instead of iPhones and ... voila. The same outputs
N86-8megapixel cable doesnt work..
So I managed to leave my HTC cable at work (2 days after getting the Telstra HD2 in OZ) and now I am on 4-5 days leave from work and really want to tinker with my phone. I think I may end up having to go back to work to collect the HTC cable - as below... challenge to get non-HTC cable to work.
I found that my wife's N86-8megapixel nokia has a similar micro-usb cable.
When connected to the PC the phone starts charging and the PC does the "doo-doop" sound a "appears" to connect to the phone, but active sync cannot detect the phone \ sync.
I see others have had success with nokia cables - I am wondering if there is something wierd going on.
Does anyone have a confirmed working car charger for this phone?
My motorola car charger that I used for my GNex and GS3 isn't fully compatible with the G2. I get a message saying "slow charging" when I plug it in.
What do you guys use to achieve full charging speeds?
I realize there's a Q&A forum, but since this is directly related to accessories, I wasn't sure if it was better suited for this forum.

The powergen dual port works great. It has two 2.1amp USB ports, one that works with Android, and the other with Apple products (when using a data cable --> detecting USB vs AC charge mode). I have custom USB cables where I shorted the data pins so I always pull at AC charge rates regardless of the port type. In any event, this charger should provide you with the same capability as the OEM wall charger.
I have a 2amp car charger and it works fine, no message about slow charging.
the issue im runnin into is find a usb cable that enables fast charging
i have a dual usb car charger that put out 2amps per usb but cant.find an aftermarket usb to micro that can support more amps (fast chargin)
the oem lg g2 cable works...as well as the nexus 7 cable
i got this cable but doesnt charge more than 1amp

To short the data pins, I actually cut a USB cable, stripped back the insulator, re-soldered the +5V and ground wires, soldered together the data pins on the microUSB side of the cable, and stagger cut the data wires on the other side. Prior to the re-soldering, I slipped some shrink tubing on one end of the cable to re-insulate everything. Not for the faint of heart.
Background for those that don't know... Typically, Android phones look for little to no resistance on the data pins to detect a high current charger. Any other load triggers USB mode since most PC's are only designed to supply 500mA via USB. I assume this is a safety issue to prevent overdrawing a PC's port. Apple operates differently. They look for some nominal resistance as USB and switch to fast charge under open or some higher resistance. Most chargers >500mA are designed for the iPhone market unless they explicitly state other compatibility. Therefore, the data pins are floating. Any charger can be used at its max rating if you trick the Android phone with the homemade cable described above. Of course, then it becomes a power-only cable, useless for data. Clearly, OEM chargers for Android phones short the data pins internally so your OEM cable can be used with a wall charger (fast) or with your PC for data connections and nominal (slow) charging.
So the powergen mentioned above has two 2.1A ports, one labeled NA (non-apple) and A (apple) so you don't need to worry about mix-n-match devices and cables. Any USB cable will fast charge on the appropriate port. With my homemade cable above, my Galaxy Nexus will fast charge on either port.
Fast forward to the G2... Just got it yesterday and while in the car, I noticed my homemade cable only permitted SLOW charge on either port. Huh. Kinda a head scratcher. I ran in the house and got the OEM LG cable and both ports worked with FAST charge. So I tried one more thing, I grabbed a regular USB cable and observed the following: the phone went into FAST charge on the apple port and SLOW charge on the non-apple port. I can only assume that LG is detecting fast charge in a different way. The fact that a standard USB cable doesn't work with the data pins shorted at the charger but the OEM cable does makes me think there is something about LG's cable that allows it to pull max power from the charger. FYI, I plugged the OEM LG cable into a 850mA Motorola AC charger and it registered as SLOW charge.

I have pretty much the same thing, had a cable that would only do slow charge, so I stripped the wires back, and on the micro usb side I cut the green and white(data) and twisted them together. Now its fast charge no matter what charger I plug this cable into.... not sure why urs isn't....
My AT&T branded charger doesn't give me the slow charge notification.

Yes, but its not a 2 amp charger. We want a bigger fast charge vehicle charger...
I tried the USB plug in my car (Scion 2012) and two different Belkin cigarette/USB chargers today. The USB and one of the Belkins gave slow charging. The other Belkin did not -- worked fine. They were supposed to be identical, but I had suspected one was a fake. Guess I was right.
I just use the usb cable that came with their phone and plug it into my auto usb or the car's 110 outlet.

So I just bought the Note 3 yesterday, nice beast.
I briefly talked about the new micro-USB cable with the seller, who explained that it was completely compatible with regular micro-USB cables (I was starting to be disappointed : just when everyone was adopting standard micro-USB, they had to change that !).
But, he added it was nevertheless recommended to use the new charger cable. We both wondered why exactly, what could happen if using only an old regular micro-USB cable. Time to achieve charging is different? Can it damage the battery or reduce its life ? Or is it just to get USB 3 high-speed transfer capability?
As I now have (after having Galaxy 1, 2, and 3) many micro-usb cable everywhere (office, car), I'd like to be able to safely use them.

Your original micro USB cables are perfectly OK to use. If using an mains AC charger, your phone will charge at whatever rate that charger charges at (500ma, 1a, 2a etc) irrelevant of whether you use a micro USB cable or micro USB 3 cable.
The only diffrerence really, is when charging from your computers USB ports. With the micro USB 3 cable, your phone will charge at a faster rate.
I havent even used my micro USB 3 charger that came with my phone yet, ive just been using my old chargers.
Nothing adverse happens, just use em like you would in your previous phones.

Your phone will charge slower and you data transfers will be slower. That is all.
Anyone know how this would be charged in the UK? Are there special USB-C chargers, would a shaver adaptor work with that 2 pin charger the phone comes with?
I already have a USB 3.1 hub with charging ports so using the cable on it's own should be fine just want a plug charger for in the work.
I live in the UK, my two prong adapter is plugged into a shaver/euro adapter and it works fine.
Thanks for that, just wondered if a shaving adaptor would be able to handle the power required but I suppose a shaver's power requirements are probably comparable to a phone
Go to Sainsburys. You can buy a European to UK adapter, rated at 10watts. Lot safer than shaver plugs
BTW I read yours has not come yet. Mine came with a separate box, I wasn't expecting with a proper UK charger in. I looked at the zuk official website and they have the fast charge ones for this - 5.3v +2amps. Or might be 3amps..the one that is in the box is not a fast charge. I got some plugs off Amazon that send power down the data usb wire. They just plug in line and help alot
