Hi. I'm trying to copy texts (SMS and MMS) from my girlfriend's iPhone, and have an app copy them to my phone from iTunes' backup files. I have reading the backup files mostly figured out, but I'm not sure how I'm going to go about adding them to my phone. How can I create SMS and MMS messages? (With correct timestamps, etc.)
I'm new to Android app development, but I am very experienced with Java. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
dont knoe what u are talking about but this might be the thing u want.

That just schedules text messages to be sent to yourself in the future. I want to create sms/mms messages at a specific date in the past.

Well if you want to make this kind of app first of all you need to make class where all the api will be there like sendSMS(to number etc) read message as list etc then make dialog where people can select the date and time store this to database then make loop for the database list then make timer of the time and date when the image is matched then call your api sendSMS then stop the timer and remove the data from the database this much you can do it if you want to .
Hope you understand bye.
Sent from my SM-G530H using XDA Free mobile app
I'm not sure how to write the api for it though. How would I create a simple MMS/SMS message?

Hey guys and girls,
Ive got a Samsung Omnia (please no booing ) and I need an application to hide text and or mms messages. I work overseas from time to time with my business and my wife and I swap MMS and text messages to each other while I am away. Having a new phone means everyone wants to check it out and i certainly do not want anyone stumbling across any MMS or text messages my wife has sent me ;-)
I have already well and truly searched this forum and the only software I can find is by evolvens and it doesn work.
Im sure it couldnt be to hard for someone to code a little piece of software to hide sms or mms depending on who sent it?
Sorry if ive posted in the wrong section, id be willing to pay for the right app and im sure many others would as well.
Cheers
Dave
hey, i ran into a problem in my last relationship where i ended up dating 2 chicks... so i had their sms' saved using ez secret sms 2.0. basically, you can set it up to run in the background, and you set certain contacts to be received in this program instead of outlook. the program can be named anything you want. so i named it something boring like system priority. you click it, and it brings up a calculator. you put in the code you specified, and hit ok... and it opens your "secret inbox." you can also set it to notify you in some way that you received a text from whoever. i set it as "islanders won!" for one chick, and "rangers lost!" for the other... pretty simple program to use, and it works fairly well.
if you want to hide just the pics, you could always just save the pics and encrypt the folder using resco explorer with a password or something. but if you really want to save the actual sms, this program worked fairly well for me.
I agree - SMS Security is great - I use it on my Diamond with no problems
I don't think it willl work with MMS though. As the post above - save the image from your MMS into your main files in a private folder. Call that folder something odd and I'm sure you friends won't open it. If you really want to protect the images, you can lock just that file with Resco or I use VisCrypt
Thanks hays and ou2mame for your input, I will try ez secret sms,
hays is this the same program you use on your diamond?
Thanks again guys

Yes it is. It works 100%
It is easy to switch it on and off reverting back to normal diamond SMS
I've emailed the author to suggest a few minor tweaks and will report back
It is annoying when you have little or no signal and you send an SMS only to get an unable to send SMS notification. It would be great if it could auto retry (AND get rid of the draft when the SMS is successfully sent).
Is there such a program? Couldn't find one on google or here.
Could someone make one?

Not sure with the standard messaging features but add ons like Vito SMS chat have this feature (resend) rather than searching through draft folders like you said.
I would like to bump this thread again. This can be a real annoyance and I can't imagine a skilled developer would take long to write an app to do this.

I completely support the statement that this is super annoying. Can't imagine why noone has tackled the issue so far.
I think many would appreciate this to be done..
so the app should always be running in the background?

Maybe integrated to the WIndows default SMS application?
i think the app should monitor if a new sms is moved to the drafts folder

But this would send even the messages you intended to move to drafts folder. like messages you intended to send later. but if it is not possible for now to integrate to the existing default sms app, i think this is an option. BTW i know you can do this oldsap, ive been using some of your apps since way back to the SAP era. thanks for that.

Hi
Probably the easiest way to do it is with an app called Power SMS by Trinket Software. It's an app you need to pay for but it does other things such as scheduling SMS's and producing reports. If you just wish to send an SMS to specific groups you can use a program call GroupSMS this is freeware. You have to set the groups up in outlook on your PC but it's free and works for me.
Hope this has helped
such tasks usually come on common hollidays to me, i.e. known dates. so i use my laptop for multi-sms from home. i use efficasoft mobile express.

With groupsms, you can also select individual contacts by checking the box, not necessary to create groups. you can find the program here
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/
all i do is in the "To:" coloumn when writing a SMS, i write out the contacts name and it will show their number at the bottem of the screen as you type and select the contact. then i start to write the next contact name and select them and so on. hope this helps
I have a question maybe someone here knows a solution.
I got the idea when I made the following note. I have a old simcard whit sms and phone numbers but unfortunately I can not figure what the pincode was now I know that there is a sim reader but it makes no sense without the pin code.
Well I thought it is not possible at such a cab to make that a txt file where all incoming and outgoing SMS messages are copied and stored so you can always look back and also your phone numbers are copied.
This invention would be for all people who want to preserve their SMS. having regard to any programs I can write and I thought let me make it here that someone might ask whether this is a good idea to findit would be nice that someone here to find a solution
I like to see your reactions respond
sorry for my bad english
no one ??
I can give a donation for those who can make this
What is the point of this when there are many programs out there already to do this.
PIMBAckup by Dotfred is probably the best known, but we now also have Microsoft MyPhone that can do the same thing

M8, you can just use MyPhone: this will back-up all you SMS messages on-the-air, so every time you are buying a new phone, you just log in to your MyPhone accout and will automatically get all your SMS messages downloaded. Just like that!
It's times better than using any other solution!
Of course, you can view or delete the messages online, by using any browser and logging in to your account!
Hope it helps!

MyPhone comes installed on HD2 devices, or (if not) you can get it from the MarketPlace. If that doesn't work, use google to find an installer. It's a Microsoft app and you can set it to automatically backup all sorts of info from your device. There's a web interface where you can edit or archive things too. It's one of the first things I set up on a new phone.
Been a fan of WP7 since it was ported to HD2 but one thing keeps me away from it because of a missing feature - the QUICK REPLY option on SMS.
I really need that feature which would allow me to insert quick replies to all of my SMS with choices of SMS templates. I know that there are couple of Apps that would let me create SMS Templates but it wouldn't allow to insert sms templates as a reply rather it would create or compose a new sms with the pre-loaded sms template. I know copy paste would do but I'm looking for an easier way to do it.
Is there a way or an app that does this? I already did some research and tried some apps but i could never find an app or a way to do it.
TIA

Extreme Quick Reply
will allow you to get missing function such as messaging template which have been avaliable in the mobile phone for past years back in Windows Phone 7.
You can add or edit the exisiting template so that you can send quick replies to your friends via SMS or email.

Have you tried it? I tried that app already before and wouldn't do that quick reply in the middle of the conversation window (since most on my conversations list are anonymous persons/phone numbers only and they are not saved on my Contacts). If that app would work like that then I should've missed out how to do that feature.
I wouldn't be able to try that app out once again since I'm on Android right now, if someone would try it out for me I'd be grateful, if none, I guess i have to roll back to WP7 again
Anyone pls?
