Recent button - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I would like to ask if the clear all recents button was gone on your Oxygen OS after updating to 2.0.2
I just flashed the full rom and I just noticed that I don't have the button to clear all recent apps. Did I just changed any setting? I didn't remember any. Please remind me if there is something I need to change. Thanks

I have it on 2.0.2. Try rebooting to see if it comes back.

Rebooted, clear cache but still nothing. I changed the launcher. It have effect? I turned on on screen keys as well. Thanks for your response.
Thanks

Shouldn't do. I am using Google Now launcher and it is sitting top right.
Do you have any mods like Xposed and GravityBox?

safemode nailed it! thanks

Same problem here. How can i reboot in safe mode?

press power button while it is on. Press and hold power off on your screen

1. Power down the OnePlus
2. Hold the power down button until Android starts to boot up
3. As soon as Android starts booting up let go of the power button
4. Then immediately start holding both the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons
5. Continue holding both Volume buttons until it boots into the OS
Once it fully boots up just reboot the phone as normal. No need to do anything else.

Why does it lose the clear all button? I've lost it twice in two days..... the Safe Mode reboot trick works, but only for a couple days it seems?
Any permanent solution?

Hie guys, found a permanent solution. If you are using xposed u can use the below mentioned module
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3223379
After root, I removed all the Google Apps from the system and replaced them as user apps so that I could greenify them. After that I lost the clear all button. Now using this module I have the clear all button and it's customizable.

Is it possible to change the options displayed when we long press the power button?

All other phones I have give me the option to restart the phone, but not on the N4.
Is there a way to show the "Restart" option when the power button is long pressed without rooting and installing custom rom?
Thanks.
Short answer: Nope
The Restart/Reboot or even Boot to recovery is a feature of most Custom ROMs and is not built with Android.
But as the Nexus 4 has no handy battery to move you have to hold the power button for several secons which then reboot the phone. That should be the easiest way to solve your 'problem'.
HTC also includes those features in Sense in its power button options. It can be done with a fairly simple mod and eventually I'm sure someone will post one in the dev section if it not already in there.

I don't know why is it not in vanilla Android. HTC, Samsung phones have the option.
For me, I use the Restart button more than the "Power Off" button.
I use Power Toggles from the Play Store to restart, reboot and get to recovery.

I use an app called Quickboot. It gives you the option to reboot, reboot into bootloader, reboot into recovery, etc.
+1 for Quickboot...simple and effective!

Boot into recovery w/o the power button

So it finally happened - the power button stopped working completely.
This wasn't much of an issue until now , but now I have to flash a new ROM.
So my only question now is how do I reboot into recovery without using the power button?
you can use apps

if you can use your phone normally, just install an app like rom manager. it should allow you to boot into recovery without using power button.
Solution
Many thanks!
I found the solution after Googling a bit.
Just open the Terminal Emulator and type su to give superuser access
Then just type reboot recovery and viola! You're done!

But how will you turn your device on normally in case it powers off ? I would like to know as i feel mine is also going to have a power button failure sooner than later.

you can power it up by connecting the charger and quickly connect/disconnecting. by doing this your device will get little jerk and it will power on
also you can reboot by giving the jerk by quickly putting battery out-in [when device is on]
:highfive::good:
or simple GoToServiceCenter
Yep, jerking it by attaching the charger when the battery is removed seems to be the only way to switch it on once your power button gives up.
Anybody has any other ideas?

[Q] (SOLVED) Home and notification panel not working

I tried installing this mod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2789666&page=97
But my phone got a bootloop, so i flashed the stock firmware 4.4.2 Gt-i9505 via odin and it worked..sort of.
Now the home button, notification center, the settings icon in the pulldown menu, the button next to it,my lockscreen and long pressing the wifi to the multiwindow button doesn't work. Power menu only contains reboot and power off, used to have airplane mode and volume buttons.
Menu, back, volume keys and power button are working. And home button wakes the screen if its of.
Please help :crying::crying::crying:
PS I don't like to do a full wipe
Also tried replacing framework-res.apk with another one, another bootloop, so reflashed the same rom again.
Do a full wipe
There is nothing like I dont want to

Then a week back I installed wanam xposed and made some changes in the setting to change phone features. It was working ok too.but then i didnt like it and uninstalled both wanam and xposed framework without undoing the changes i had made. today suddenly the phone shutdown and got stuck in boot loop. i cant access recovery mode or download mode nor safe mode. i pulled battery tried after a while but still nothing. any tips or idea on how to recover. thanks in advance. i tried to search Google and xda forums but couldn't find a solution.

wow!
This is something really bad! Even download mode? you sure you press the right buttons?
what did you actually changed in wanam xposed? as far as i know wanam is more on, on theming and not tweaking.
I am pressing the right buttons volume down+ home+power, it shows the the download mode but before i can press volume up to enter it it reboots.
And what about download mode? Also keep rebooting? Are you pressing right combo
press home+volup+ power, when the logo appears release power button and keep pressed the other buttons and voila.
Once in recovery, flash Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip. When the first time install Xposed it creates a file in your sdcard folder called Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip. All you need to do is boot into recovery and flash the disabler file so Xposed will disabled and your device will be working again. Once disabled you can remove the Xposed module that cause trouble.
My dear friends i am pressing the right combo and as i said, i cant access download mode or the stock recovery. I gave the phone to samsung service and those idiots are giving all kinds of explanations saying power switch may be faulty or charging pin is faulty. i am irritated, they just want to raise my bill by changing all parts.
Take the S4 to other place to get second opinion.
Maybe a stuck power button. It's a common s4 problem. You can try knocking the phone near the power button.
You have a stuck/faulty power button. It just happens so nothing you did that caused this. Try to get it loose or replace it.
Thanks you guys. You are quite brilliant. It was the power button. Unfortunately i didn't read this before so couldn't try figiting with it. and took it to Samsung service and they replaced the power button from 6$. Working fine now. quote relieved i must say. Thanks all

Update 2.0.2 killing opened apps disappear

With 2.0.2 I can see all open apps by pressing square button. But I have to close 1 by 1. With 2.0 and 2.0.1 I could close all in 1 time by pressing cross button... Any solutions because with 4 gb ram the phone keeps a lot of open apps in memory.
But isn't that the point, keep apps in ram so it helps performance, drop them when more ram is needed. I would have the ram full all the time as long as it performs perfectly.

Enable google app & you could see a cross button
me too. same concern. Google ia enabled already on app managemnt

It worked thanks a lot!
Nice one.
Didn't work for me
I rebooted into Safe Mode but the close all recent app option still doesn't appear. I have the Google app uninstalled, do I need to install it for this option to show up?
Yeah I would try that
no luck yet
Installed Google app, restarted in Safe Mode and still no close recent apps option.

I have already booted in Safe Mode and rebooted the device. Still doesn't work.
Maybe try and reflash the OS and see if that fixes it.
