Info
+ Clean install of Windows 10
+ Motorola USB drivers installed
+ Installed the latest Motoactv firmware (MA 1.7.10 N8) and rooted
+ Installed TCX exporter since Motoactv site is unreliable/dying.
Boast
+ This device is still amazing. Its battery life on marathon mode actually lasted as I finished a marathon. There is no competitor out there that has 8GB storage for music, decent battery life and doesn't cost over $200, even the upcoming TomTom Spark.
Problems
- Motoactv doesn't charge when plugged into a wall charger. Will only charge using a USB port.
- Cannot make the device show up as a USB storage device so I can sync with Doubletwist
- Cannot sync with iTunes due to problems with Motocast, Nero/Motorola Media Link software
-- Despite updating to the latest Java 32 and 64 bit, I'm still greeted with this message:

Question
How can I enable usb storage on the fly without having to run the MotoACTV Root Tool and "stop adb and enable USB"?
Why does the Motoactv not charge when using a wall charger?
Bump.
adb shell am start -a com.android.settings.APPLICATION_DEVELOPMENT_SETTINGS: Gives option on Actv screen to disable USB Debugging (turn off ADB permanently). Note, you can only access this option WITH ADB, so once you turn it off, you can only gain ADB back by reflashing the boot image (generally the 1.6.0 boot image).
Found this from: http://motoactv.wikispaces.com/useful_adb_fastboot_command
Worked great on my motoactv and my friends. If I remember correctly you want to make sure the screen not asleep on the motoactv when you run the command. Hope this helps! Still loving my motoactv.

Heres my problem, i have the basic **** 1.5 rom that comes with the G2 Touch (HTC Hero) and T-Mobile being pathetic have cocked things up with the 2.1 update. again.
Im Trying to Flash an old Rom from the HTC website (still better than the default i have), to entice the download of part 1 of 2.1 but it refuses to connect Via USB as soon as i run the program. I got it to work once and it keeled over and Died within seconds.
This is the Rom im trying to Flash:
http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=283&cat=2&dl_id=775
I use Windows 7 32Bit
I just upgraded to:
HTC Sync 2.0.33
The Rom downloads as:
RUU_Hero_T-Mobile_UK_2.73.110.26_R_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
Windows recognises the device fine, it shows up "green" in HTC Sync, Its recognised in "Devices and Printing" as Android Phone.
but as soon as I run the above .exe to upgrade the rom, it disconnects the android from windows, and then tells me that its not connected via USB. retard developers!
Now im really coming to an end with this phone, its doing my nut in.
I managed to get it to run the update somehow, i cant remember how i did it, pulling the usb out and adding it at different stages, somehow lol, and it only started, then died giving me this mess:
Comes up in "Devices and Printing" as an unspecified device called "android 1.0" with the hardware name HTC Bootloader, type ADB Interface

I did what it said in the Readme and took the battery out and rebooted, and im back to square one.
Its just physically impossible for me to get off this bloody default ROM!
please help me!
Wait, i think i cracked it. I created a Goldcard and after 2 attempts running the RUU_Hero_T-Mobile_UK_2.73.110.26_R_release_signed_NoDriver it worked!
and as soon as the phone started the "update" popped up for the 2.1 part 1!
yeah boy!
Make sure you have the correct drivers for windows 7

Hi I am new to this forum and I'm not an expert, I really would like to use the webtop without a dock,i tried following the instructions posted here but nothing happens, I don't know what am I missing. Am I supposed to run the install file on my computer or on my phone? When I run it on my computer a black screen appears and some command and then I says to press any key and that my phone will reboot, but nothing happens. Am I supposed to do something to my phone?
I'm on att gingerbread, not rooted, I enabled debugging mode.
Thank you
You need to root and probably deodex
sent from my Atrix via XDA premium
You are probably right, but why then on Fenny's post it says no root or deodex needed??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=980193
oh well look at that,
you run the script from your computer but your phone has to be connected and have all the right drivers on your computer

do you know what ADB is and how to use it?

ok connect your phone to hyhour computer and make sure the computer knows it is connected
then run the script
good advice
If I were you I'd be VERY CAREFUL and investigate and learn all you can BEFORE doing any mods on your phone. Too many phones have been bricked (rendered useless) by running things you know little about.
I did that but the doesn't do anything, it doesn't reboot like it says on the script. I know it's connected because when I enable debugging I see the pop up screen for the internal memory and the sd card
Thanks for your concern I really appreciate it.what I like about this is that doesn't require root
Root
Hi
I also had exactly the same problem.
I wanted webtop, without really rooting my device.
It didnt work out. Also ran the script no reboot etc.
I then rooted my device, Fenny assisted me to create 2 files for the stock 2.2.2 atrix 4g (The older version of the os)
I copied them manually using root explorer, rebooted, and walla, i had the webtop working.
I still have those files.....
If you need them, PM me, its worth a try...
Hi, I'm not sure if I posted in good thread category, since I couldn't find a thread for my tablet, maybe I should explain why I posted in here:
It's a Generic tablet 703H I suppose, but I'm not sure if that's the model, it is running "Full AOSP on Rk29sdk" I suppose, (at least that's what AnTuTu benchmark told me before) I rooted the device using this and it WORKED, but when I decided to go into a recovery mode (I wanted to install CWM from here) but when I run my tablet with POWER and VOL+ (so I could enter STOCK recovery IF THERE IS ANY) all I got was an android lying on his back with opened chest, since that I can't do anything on it, I turn it off and on but nothing happens, I tried every keys and nothing helped. And when I plug the tablet so it will charge, I do not get battery animation, but yet again the same screen. But later I spotted that before that shows up it flashes with standing android with something blue spinning in his chest (Is it download mode maybe?) So I decided to plug the tablet to my laptop and see what happens. Before it was recignized as "Full" (ADB Drivers which I used to root) but now it showed up for a while as something about Nexus (not sure it google or galaxy) tablet. I am confused because now it again shows as Full. I wanted to flash it because it lags terribly (Android 4.0.4, kernel 3.0.8) and it bugs a lot (like "return" key was staying as "down" key)

I understand this is not Nexus tablet but still this is what USB drivers installed on my Win7 flashed me about
If it helps - I can use Ubuntu (most of things about computer I do through Ubuntu, yet never about any external devise)
Problem Solved
Fixed tablet with a bootable SD card, if it's needed I can post how I managed to fix it.

Tutorial: How to transfer files to/from our Moto G while in TWRP recovery
This tutorial have been tested in 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 Windows versions. It can work with other devices beside Moto G.

Sometimes we need to transfer files to our device while we are in recovery mode. When we forget to copy the zip we were going to flash, when we are installing a
GPE based ROM (we must format /data and erase all files), to transfer a backup... ect. In many cases we need this function.
The purpose of this tutorial is to make our PC succesfully recognize our Moto G as a storage device being in TWRP recovery.
Many users have reported that their devices are not being recognized.
Requirements:
-Have installe the last TWRP recovery version.
-Have installed ADB drivers in PC. You can try this ones Universal ADB Drivers or Motorola Mobile Drivers 64 bits
-USB data cable.
-PC runnig Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 (can work with older versions).Steps: Sorry for spanish images, if you can provide me english captures would be great.
1) Boot into recovery mode and connect to PC with USB data cable.
2) Being completely sure your device is not being recognized, otherwise this tutorial will be totally useless to you.
3) Open Control Panel and click on Hardware and Sound
4) Go to Device Manager.
5) Look for 'Android Device' or 'Android Phone' or any related name, open the list, rigth-click on the device and click on 'Update driver software'.
6) Now click on the second option.
7) Now click on the option below:
8) Make sure 'ADB composite device' is there and click next.
9) Once this is donde, reboot your PC and it will be in capacity to recognize your device as a storage device while you are in TWRP recovery. We can freely transfer files.---------------------------------------------------

Hi All,
Apologies If I'm posting in the wrong place.
My partner has just purchased the Zenpad 8.0 (Z380M)
When it's connected to my Win 10 laptop by USB cable only the PC Suite is visible as a CD drive. The internal memory isn't visible for transferring music etc. I E-mailed support and was advised to carry out a factory reset. I have done this and it is still the same. How do I get rid of the CD drive and enable the internal memory to be visible ?

When its connected to your computer open up the cd drive that it mounts as and there should be some software available for you to install which will allow you to interact with the tablet with software that is meant specifically for it. You can also pull down the quick settings banner when the tablet is connected and you should see a notification saying the tablet is charging or that its connected to a pc, click that notification and you should have a few options to choose from. Charging, using to transfer photos, transfer media files MTP, Install software. Something along those lines.
Thanks for the reply.
The problem I had was the software I wanted to use (Calibre) worked outside the PC Suite software that it was trying to install. Thankfully after a firmware upgrade to Android 7.0 the problem went away, and I can now see the internal memory.
