hia all! I need a big help! I was following the procedure toi get the root to the stock rom. First strage thing was my usb debuggig option under developer option was gray so not selectable. I decided to proceed anyway and I've unlocked the bootloader (with the proper command I've checked and it was unlocked). hte first strange thing was that i did't get the reboot after unlocking as reported in the guide. but i've rebooted manually and then I've installed TWRP and everything was ok; then I've proceeded with installing SUper SU to get the root permission and here came the problem; after installed the zip via TWRP, during the reboot I realize I was stuck in the boot logo the rotating square/traingle and circle. PANIC. I've tried almost everything, also trying a adb sideload flash with latest oxygen but seems not working...(maybe usb debugging not enalbe is the reason for all my problems?) what went wrong? and what do I have to do now? please help!

Find an OTG cable, place the full 2.0.2 OOS rom on a USB key, go to recovery and don't forget to mount USB-OTG then flash the rom...
I have bricked my OPO several times by tweaking it^^
So I keep an usb key with rom, Xposed, Ti backup etc... and if there is a problem, just plug your key, it's easier than using fastboot commands from a computer...
I'm currently waiting for my OTG cable for OPT especially for this use.

Hi guys, I have a strange issue and hope that someone could help me...
I'm on 4.2 CleanRom with 3.14 bootloader (the old one, I flashed it for the root) and I can't activate debug, so I can't get adb working, if I activate it on dev options just doesn't change anything...
so I tried to do a "flash factory img" from wug's toolkit, but...when I get in fastboot and plug the cable the fastboot menu freezes, and I have to force turn off...if I don't plug the cable it works!
at this point I tried to flash the new 4.13 bootloader (I think that the 4.2 rom doesn't like the old one), I flash it from recovery but when I reboot I find the old one...
SO, no adb. no fastboot, no factory image....what should I do? luckily I have a good working rom and I can get to recovery, but if something goes wrong? I can't restore the stock image...and I will have to throw away my nexus...
anyone has a suggestion? thanks
EDIT: solved, it was a driver problem, I tried to root an xperia few weeks ago and something with drivers messed up...everything is ok now!
close please
HI all,
I've come from flashing Samsung S4's for years but after trying to flash an update I got the boot screen and nothing happens.
Here's the situation.
I had originally installed PureNexus, rooted, unlocked the boot loader and probably turned off USB ADB settings (and I don't typically want an alert when plugging in the USB cable) as I usually transfer media and ROM's to the download folder for future flashing.
I saw that 6.01 was released and saw that the bootloader and radio were updated. So I tried to flash those before updating with PureNexus 6.01.
I did a nandroid backup before I did this, knowing something might go wrong.
I think my camera wasn't working so I tried a nandroid recovery to get it back.
Unfortunately I didn't read about the password encryption bug which TWRP had as I did the restore in my car and didn't have internet as it was free down time. When it was completed, I got the failed password issue. So I decided just to format everything. I used TWRP and formatted everything including the vendor partition. Of course, I forgot it would delete the Nandroid, too. I'm too used to having a spare external SD card to store all of the Nandroids on.
Anyway after that I can only get to TWRP.
I've tried installing the original 6.0 ROM, PureNexus ROM through TWRP with the appropriate ZIP files. It says it's completed, no errors but just the boot screen.
I've tried restoring through ADB with Windows 10 and through the USB. I don't get to an ADB selection on the bootloader, but can get to the ADB sideload throught TWRP. The problem is when I tried to restore through ADB nothing happens as it says "waiting" when I use fastboot flash-all. ADB devices does give me an ID when I do ADB so it is connecting. However, I believe ADB is waiting for the USB-ADB to be turned on which I can't do because I can't get to the OS system partition.
I've tried using several of the Skip Soft Toolkit and again, it waits and says closed.
I'm assuming that USB-ADB is closed and not turned on. I don't know why TWRP can't overwrite the system partitions if I try to flash, unless it's still encrypted but shouldn't be as I formatted everything, except for the boot loader and that is unlocked as I get the screen that I should lock the bootloader because the OS can't tell if it is corrupted.
Any ideas? I can only think if someone sends me a Nandroid of a configuration that may flash it back to a level I can get into Android and then get back to USB ADB and do a clean install with fastboot flash-all.
Please help!! Thanks in advance for your suggestions. I hope I gave you enough information to help me out.
Update. I apparently found a way. Luckily TWRP has a Flash image feature as well as flashing the vendor image. Flashed PureNexus 6.01 and PureNexus Gapps and thank goodness that worked! No idea why ADB was not flashing except for the configuration for USB ADB was turned off on the ROM originally.
Ok, I'm going to start by explaining everything I did up to this point to eliminate any troubleshooting sugggestions i may have already done.
I rooted and installed recovery the same way everyone else did. After a couple of days, I tried to install a ROM but im assuming i was encrypted because i was stuck in a loop that would only boot me into TWRP. Did my research and took the necessary steps to get around that and decrypt and boot into the new ROM.. FINALLY!!! Only one problem, this rom doesn't have Super SU installed, Alright... so i download the proper Super SU build and put it on my Micro SD card and try to boot into TWRP to flash....
This is where the problem begins. I never get the prompt to authorize my PC from my phone to allow anything, and i never did each time i reset. I'm almost certain the adb on this rom is messed up, i've wiped about 4-5 times to re-enable usb debugging from scratch in order to adb or fastboot into recovery via command prompt, however when i try adb, i get that unauthorized error an there's no option on the LG V20 to revoke under developer settings. Fastboot i just get the same "waiting for device" message. Also keep in mind that i set it to photo mode, every mode that was available and nothing. Tried different USB Cords and did this on both my laptop and my PC at work
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling all of the drivers, re-installed the latest version of adb and fastboot to my PC, that didn't work either. Tried deleting the adbkeys file in the .android folder and still nothing.
When i try to boot in recovery manually, i just get the wipe data option and when i click yes to everything, it actually wipes my data. I'm unable to reflash TWRP because I can't access ADB or Fastboot due to the unauthorized error.
Someone, PLEASE HELP!!!!
any luck?

different route but im in the same boat. any luck?
I fixed this shortly after. Wanted to avoid returning to stock as. The only option was you and I was on 10d. I had to go back to stock but luckily the recovery method still works.
Hello. Well as the title says im having these issues. The main one is that im not able to flash anything on it using adb. I get a failed message. Everything was working fine until i flashed oreo on it 8.1. I was able to flash oreo with no issues but then once in oreo i couldnt flash twrp or another firmware at all and every time i connect it to a pc it stays on charging only and have to manually put it on media transfer. Could this be a software or hardware issue?
If i want to downgrade I just have to flash everything using adb right?
Has anyone had this issue?
The only time I have issues like yours is when my platform-tools folder gets wonky....so I just download the latest from Google and replace them all with the new ones. Maybe you have done this already but it doesn't hurt to try. Hope it helps
did you enabled developer settings and enabled usb debugging? and is your bootloader unlocked? I have no problems here on 8.1

I would do that and also make sure platrorm tools and drivers are up to date. Also check your usb ports on PC. Sometimes I have problems with one port but another works fine. Currently I have none of my ports work except one and only with a usb splitter weird right? Anyway check all those things and give it another try.

well it was actually my usb ports.. two of them just didnt work with fastboot but they worked fine with everything else like usb hubs, flash drives, etc... Althoguh I still got the problem when plugging it I have to change the setting on the phone for file transfer. Does it happen all the time in oreo? I havent gone back to nougat and try it out but when I was in nougat it was working just fine.
Another Issue I have is that I keep flashing twrp on it but everytime I restart the phone twrp gets delete and Im left with the regular recovery. Im trying with oreo 8.1
From the twrp website
"Download the correct image file and copy the file into the same folder as your adb and fastboot binaries. Rename the image to twrp.img and type:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot
Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install."
hth
Im having some weird issues. First I cant keep twrp on oreo, no matter what version of twrp I use it always gets deleted. Second, when going back to nougat twrp stays installed but I cant boot into the system what combo would you suggest?
My V20 was unlocked via factory method and rooted in2017. I had xPosed framework installed. One morning in Dec. 2020 I woke to an unrooted phone. I tried to install my latest TWRP backup but TWRP was gone. The hardware button combo that always got me TWRP did a factory reset instead. Now I cannot get fastboot. Both ways of entering fastboot produce a regular boot. The bootloader unlocked nag screen still appears on boot up. I don't know what happened but I want root back. What can I do?
I am not XDA lingo savvy so forgive me if my answer does not apply.
I recently tried roting US996 with Magisk vs 21.4 but got a loop start up.
I then noticed Fastboot would not find the device.
However if I hold vol up and plug in the USB cable to the computer it will go into fastboot. I can type Fastboot devices and it will show my device. That was how I was able to start the process to restore the phone to stock.
If that helps great, if not , sorry I am just trying to give back something as I try to get this to root in Magisk 22. (still learning)
