Hi guys, I was hoping maybe someone can help me out and diagnose my problem. For the first part of the day, my phone worked normally. I could make/receive calls without any problem. All of a sudden in the late afternoon, I got a call from the 'missus' and she could not hear me at all. I thought it was just the phone possibly acting up so I rebooted and then called her back. She picked up but could not hear anything from my end. This went back and forth a few times until I reached for the home phone to call her back. After our conversation I tested the voice record and unless I talk very very LOUD and directly with my mouth/lips on the mic, the phone will pick up NOTHING. Even if I'm just a few inches away, it will not pick up my voice whatsoever. Is there some sort of setting that allows you to adjust mic sensitivity? I'm on the latest official Sprint ROM and was wondering if reflashing might do the trick? From my understanding of microphones, they either work or don't work right? I mean it IS picking up my voice, I just have to yell to high hell for it to do so. And even then the playback will not be nearly as loud as the volume I was yelling at (yes my speakers work correctly). Thanks in advance!

I bought a vogue on eBay to play with the android OS. I loved android, but I had an issue... When I called someone they couldn't hear me but I could hear them. Also none of the sound notifications were working... no incoming calls, no music files... it looked like the software was working, but I couldn't hear anything.
The sound was working fine before I converted to android (directly from the phone not the SD card), so I flashed to a WM rom... still the same issue. I can hear everything perfectly fine when I call my voice mail, but people can't hear me when I call them, and none of my sound files make any noise even though it looks like media player is playing them properly.
I flashed to the Sprint stock rom for the Vogue, and still the same issue...
Can someone please help me? I have no idea what to do.

Long shot, but did you check the device before flashing anything? Was it working when you got it off ebay?
Did you do a hard reset after flashing WM?
Yes, it was working when I bought it. The receiver is now working (people can hear me when i make a phone call), but the speaker on the back, the one used for speakerphone, is still not working.
I've done a hard reset, nothing changed. I'm going to take it into a repair store and see if it's a hardware issue... I have no idea why it would be though. All I did was mess with the software.

It could be that flashing to Android messed up something in the speaker... again, another long shot!
I just got a refurbished Galaxy S4 from Best Buy after breaking the screen on my LG Optimus G. I took the phone home and rooted it, but now I realized I'm having an issue with the speaker for the earpiece. Whenever I try to make a phone call, I can hear the other person for a couple seconds, then it just cuts out. Other person can still hear me, I just can't hear them. I hang up and try again, but can't hear anything then from the beginning. I found that if I go into voicemail, it will play a message just fine from there through the speaker and basically resets it so I can hear part of a phone call again before it breaks out again. Phone is stock 4.3 rooted with nothing removed or frozen yet. Really appreciate any help anyone can offer, either on how to fix this or how to unroot it to take it back to Best Buy if that is needed. So I recently bought a Verizon s5 and right away I flashed BOK3 and rooted the s5. (followed the steps in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/root-method-og5-ok3-t3290370) any time I call someone or they call me they say im breaking up. It's like the mic is dropping in an out like I don't have service. I read on a couple of website to turn off the "ok google" or to plug in your headphones then unplug them but nothing has worked. If I switch to speakerphone they can hear me for like 10 seconds then it goes back to them not being able to hear me. This isn't a problem with reception because I have 4 bars 4g lte and still have the issue. I have also restarted my phone called right back and they still cant hear me. If i use bluetooth in my car they can hear me fine. I haven't noticed any problems while using snapchat and the mic messing up? any one have advice? btw this is a brand new s5.
Hoping you guys can help. HTC 10 makes normal calls fine, people can hear me and i can hear them perfectly. However while on the call if i switch to speakerphone, i can still hear them (speakerphone) but they can't hear anything. Almost like the microphone got turned off completely but only when using speakerphone. Any thoughts?

check options, fiddle around with the options while on call while on speaker and off
