hey guys,
I want to go back to stock rom as all custom roms have bugs
I want the 2 sims work with voice unlike all roms.
or can u recommend a bug free rom instead plz.
I'm on custom rom (( cm-12.1-20150823-UNOFFICIAL-ms013g-ver4_4 ))
download official firmware from sammobile
choose your country and download
also, at download page, pls dowload odin..
flash downloaded firmware using odin
I love the look of cm12.1 on my G7102 ... but O Lord! Bugs everywhere! FM radio does not work.... the system tray does not have the option to view all items. Netflix does not work. the phone freezes up when i switch between apps. (these are but few things I remember off the top of my head). I'm going to try switching back to the original FW.
If you wanna go back to stock ROM (unrooted) then go to
http://sammobile.com/firmwares/ and select your device and then download. (you need to register for downloading)
Now boot your phone into Download Mode (First switch off , then press and hold Volume Down, Power, Home button)
Now connect your device to pc.
Start Odin.
And then Click PDA(some versions have AP), select .md5 file
click start.
Now after 8-10 minutes you will boot back to stock rom (unrooted) 4.4.2
For Other Touchwiz ROMs,
For Motion ROM LL - Flash Directly on your current ROM with twrp not cwm.
For S5 Port, S6 Styled S5 Port, N4 S6 Alpha, Gennxt Kitkat - Flash directly with cwm.
Hope it works for you. It worked for me.
Please PRess A Thanks !!

Sir, if you download a custom rom you need to boot to recovery and wipe everything there then flash the rom. but if your flashing a custom rom via odin ? eh i dont think that would work You can only flash a stock rom/modem/etc via odin.but not a custom rom, unless i might be wrong? hehe i hope this make sense. have a nice day.

Hi all.. I have a friends SM-G900F and it updated OTA to Lollipop......this made it very sluggish and unstable....
It has got to the point of not being able to keep it on so KEIS3 will see it and try to update it...
Currently it is in a strange mode.... sometimes you can get it nearly into recovery with vol up and home buttons but hangs with samsung galaxy logo on and "warrenty bit : recovery" and thats it..... I seem to be able to get it into some flash mode with vol down and home buttons but with no rom on the sd card not sure what it will do....
The question is can i put a stock KitKat rom on a sd card and do the vol down and home button trick to revive it or is it back to samsung??
Cheers and thanks for your time reading this..
Chris
Yup, stick it in download mode (vol down & home & power) and use ODIN 3.09 or above, and a ROM from sammobile dot com
Instructions under the download
Hi cheers for the reply.....its gotta stay stock ..... I did manage to get hold of a stock KitKat after 6 hours download (!!) but that fails in Odin 3.09 and 3.04 so Im trying to down load a stock Lollipop.. which had just failed after 3 hours ..... So im gonna have to try re-downloading Lollipop... and fingers crossed ....
All this is since the OTA Lollipop.......
Cheers.
Yup sammobile ROMs are stock
Ive got the latest Stock Lollipop for the G900F here on MEGA if you want it
Code:
https://mega.co.nz/#!55wTjYKS!AsETDlg6qBOxldy5TR_wn4WaqBxMelnVE_ptR0BQnwo
And the last KitKat stock ROM for the G900F too
Code:
https://mega.co.nz/#!gh5kDJZB!jur0wavEqAW8hj1YbxMVEIKXHC5qyi4a8i-ZHmXxX68
Will save you some time downloading from SM
Latest ODIN 3.10.6 too
Code:
https://mega.co.nz/#!Exo3yADS!y7pFS5-9RVhp4vDxTRAQARAwkjyQAB_9mDZWfXkLqko
Thanks for that. downloading now.............. just hope it sorts it out......
Cheers
So long as you have the phone in download mode, Samsung drivers installed, run ODIN as Admin just to be sure, load the .tar.md5 into AP or PDA, it should work fine
Ok.. still no go..... the G900FXXU1BOC7 fails like the stock KITKAT i got after a few hours last night......
The G900FXX1ANG2 passes but wont boot... had lots of errors trying to access recovery.....
When KK fails i get secure check fail : modem in red..... if that helps..??
Cheers
Had the same problem myself after downgrading from Lolipop so had to restore factory settings and started working fine.
Hi......when u say factory do you mean from recovery??? If it is then I have a problem....I cant get to recovery...!!
cheers

Hello,
I want to replace the stock rom (5.0.1) on my S4-LTE because I want to get rid of the many unwanted/unuseful applications installed by Samsung or by my provider (Orange in France).
I have already done that kind of action on my tablet but it's the first time I do it on my phone. I'm looking at threads here in xda and I see that there are several roms. But i have difficulty to choose which one would be the best for me.
My need is to have a ROM that is optimized for performance and storage but still quite stable as this is for my daily use, i'm not doing this for fun. Also, i want that all standard functionnalities of the phone are working fine (phone, camera ...) but i do not mind about all the samsung-specific features that i never use (screen merroring, multi-windows, s-beam, nfc, air view, air gesture, smart stay, smart pause).
In your opinion, what would be the custom ROM that would better meet my needs ?
ps : right now, my phone is not rooted and still has knox 0x0. But i don't mind about knox going 0x1 as i have no more warranty on the phone
[edit] ps : i want a lollipop ROM
Thanks in advance
Eric
Try the temasek's one

Download samsung drivers from HERE and install to your PC. Now you need Odin, and the last firmware for i9506. Download XXUDOD3 from HERE. Now download Odin from HERE. Open odin and put your phone in download mode(volume down+home button+power and when you see the warning screen press volume up button) now conect your phone to pc, and select from odin AP and browse XXUDOD3 firmware and press start. Then, download CF auto root from HERE, open Odin and in AP browse for "CF-Auto-Root-ks01lte-ks01ltexx-gti9506.tar.md5" then press start and wait to your phone to boot. Now download twrp recovery from here and folow the same procedure, like cf auto root, now in odin select AP and browse for "TWRP_2.8.5.0_ks01lte_20150215.tar.md5" and hit start button. Now you have root and custom recovery. If you want a debloated and deodexed system download from HERE the zip file and install from recovery, first do a backup.
You have to read this POST, its very useful.
You should try Dehawk-s slim deodexed rom with insecure kernel.
Try and you won`t regret.
Thank you all 3 of you, i'm reading the corresponding posts to get knowledge about the ROMs and how to load them into my phone. Then when i have found the ROM that most suits me, I will try to load it. Of course i will have a few questions here
I'm looking for same. Want to get rid of Samsung crap.
Hello,
A few weeks ago I tried to root my old phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 4). I kinda completely failed it and I exedetly wiped my hole phone and not only the few things u were supposed to deleted if wanting to install a custom rom. Well now when I start my phone I get boot loop and can only go in download mode and the mode where u can delete stuff again. I would like to just reset the phone to normal without root and all that stuff because the phone of a friend broke down and I would borrow him my old phone but I need to get it back to normal.
Can anyone help me?
Download a stock ROM for your pjlhone, preferably a 6.0.1 ROM based on your variant (N910F,N910C,etc...)) And then flash it via Odin (put phone into download mode, then open Odin, and load the stock ROM from PDA/Ap tab) then connect ur phone and start process.

Hi
I have searched for this there are similair threads but nothing exactly answering my question.
I hope you guys can help - my knowledge-base is pretty limited !
I've rooted my S5 and flashed TWRP recovery using ODIN
But now I can't access recovery mode - trying the volume up power - home button method . also variant on that but it only goes into download mode - It was working fine before so I don't think it a hardware issue.
I thought I could just flash the rom using ODIN but that only accepts tar files etc .
Am I missing something ?
Thanks

After flash you tried to boot directly into TWRP recovery and didn't let it reboot by itself?
Which TWRP version did you flash?
Sometimes multiple flashs do the trick.
Or flash an older version.
Odin can't flash custom ROMs (zip or img) while stock ROMs come as tar.md5.
So for a custom ROM TWRP is essential.
Thanks for your response.
I flashed this version: twrp-3.4.0-0-lentislte.img.tar
I can't get into any recovery screen - it only goes to the download screen so I don't think it is a problem with the particular version - otherwise I would expect to get to the standard recovery screen ?
volume up + home button + power button is loading the download screen , as is same with volume down.

So you should have a S5 LTE-A, correct?
Give TWRP 3.3.1-0 a try.
Had probs with 3.4.0-0 on to different devices other than S5.
Are vol up and down working correctly on stock ROM?
If you flash stock better use the multiple part version.
My device is the S5 SM- G900F I think that's the same as the LTE at least it was the only one offered that sounded like mine ?
Can you help me with the link for the 3.3.1-0 version and I'll try that ?
The volume up and down are working for volume

If it's G900F the TWRP you should use is for klte.
Does it say 900F on the sticker under the battery?
Open https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys5qualcomm.html and select your device and the best mirror for you.
Then choose the version you want as tar.
Might be best, as you've flashed the wrong recovery, to flash stock first so that you have a clean & proper device before flashing again TWRP.
Hi
Thanks I'll try tat .
I will then install this version https://eu.dl.twrp.me/klte/twrp-3.3.1-0-klte.img.tar.html
Can you link me to where i can download the stock recovery for this device ?

There are several:
https://samfrew.com/de/model/SM-G900F/
https://forum.youmobile.org/downloads/?cat=15
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s5/firmware/#SM-G900F
They will usually come as zip so not before unpacking you'll see if it's multiple or not.
On some you might have to have an account for free access.
Yeah ! success .
I managed to install using the correct version you gave me and have installed my custom rom .
Thank you so much .
I have so much to learn!
Now want to install google apps any good instructions for that ?

Depends on which custom ROM you have installed.
I always choose the smallest number of Google Apps (all not included can be installed separately) and sometimes the bigger packages cause problems.
So for all customs from Android 7 - 9 I recommend Opengapps pico.
For Android 10 I've found that BiTgapps cause less problems if at all.
The difference between them afaik is that the last doesn't have Google tts included.
Working an other android 7-9 as well of course.
Both of course ARM as G900F is a 32b device.
thanks
I installed this custom Rom LineageOS 17.1 for klte.
and the Gapps package you suggested - pico.
All seems to be working fine so far -
I was thinking of a new phone as this S5 had got so slow - and full ! but reluctant as it's the last with removable battery and many newer don't either have removable storage.
I think this custom rom will give it new life
Thanks for your help .

If you allow me to recommend:
For my S5 is a backup device I've tried several customs.
Therefore I've installed the Q version of crDroid as others like Havoc or pure Lineage were either not as stable or didn't offer that much settings options.
