first impressions?

no SIM
so I was wondering, can you use the phone SIM free, I am going to get one, but want to wait to activate it until a new month on my bill, and was curious if I could use it at a PDA of sorts for a while if I don't put in a SIM when I turn it on. Anyone know?

Guys want to hear something funny....fedex delivered my phone to the wrong house! Someone got a harass phone for.free.....too bad it wasn't me. Att is giving me a new one tomorrow.

Taking the plunge

Hey,
This morning my xoom arrived. The after spending £430 of my hard earned money I started to feel rather skeptical as I had never played with any android 3.0 tablet or even held the xoom in my hand before. At 11.00 the postman arrived to deliver, opened the box and switched it on. The initial impressions is that this is by far to best piece of tech I have invested in. Thinking back to my ipad I really did question why did i bother ith tht junk.
Just a quick thank you to all who advised on my previous posts about the xoom, it's brilliant.

Sure, and the UK devices can be modified with the U.S. ROM to get the 3.2 update. How do you think I got mine updated?

Received my white galaxy note!!

First impression is wow its huge! Screen is beautiful and the white color looks absolutely fantastic! Will post up pictures and unboxing video soon.
Edit: Adding pics as fast as I can. Unboxing video is done and being edited as well and I'll have more shots/vids of the phone by late tonight or tomorrow.

Pics are being uploaded right now. In the process of taking more, I had to go down to the AT&T store to get a new sim card and get the APN settings from them so it took some time.

For me its the shell, looks a lot nicer than dark blue to me. Its a matter of personal taste and white just happens to be in high demand right now because its new and relatively rare for the Note.

Me, I realy realy dont like white. And you see dirt and scratches so well on it. Hate the white earplugs i got with my Note. I use them when i work and its not very clean there.

I printed my Email Receipt to PDF and uploaded that. It is the only one I have so I hope there are no issues.

You won't receive your netflix code until they verify your purchase, which they stated will take 4-6 weeks.

I also just used my order confirmation email from T-Mobile. It has all the info they asked for on it.

I took a pic of my receipt print out from T-Mobile, it shows I paid in full, it better be OK! Haha

Hmmm, I bought my phone from t-mobile and am getting an error that the carrier tied to the phone is not eligible.
EDIT: It was a B and not an 8 in the MAC address.

Thanks man and I'm hoping since were some of the first few to submit our claims, we should be taken care of fairly quickly. I'd hope anyways!

Yes you are correct, it is right in the Terms and Conditions.

Winter storm has killed FedEx shipping to the Northeast. Supposed to be here tomorrow, but we'll see. My daughter is coming home from the NICU tomorrow so I might not be able to get the dump immediately.

It has it's pros and cons. I'm coming from a Pixel so I'm a stock Android junkie. Outside of that small hiccup, the phone is phenomenal. It's extremely well built and the screen really does look like it's just melting into the bezels. Sooooo much real estate. Setting apps up to use the full 18:9 can be a little wonky, but overall it does a good job of filling the space. This is definitely the next evolution in smart phones.
