A note to samsung(re no 64gb in canada)??? - Galaxy Note5 General

A NOTE TO SAMSUNG.
Your recent launch of your two new phones,The Note 5 and the S6 Edge Plus did not give you the edge over Apple here are the reasons why.,
-no Micro Sd slot
-no external battery
Now I can live with these two choices as I realize that internal memory is much faster than external memory and the non-removable battery is not a big deal.
But,you did not stop there instead you decided that your going to push the S6 Edge Plus as your main flagship phone in two memory sizes 32/64gb and in the color black and make the Note 5 available in Black only and one size 32gb here in Canada. Last but not least some carriers did not received any phones at all and where in the dark as to when and If they would receive stock of the Note 5 in the 64gb size
I have always been under the impression that as a consumer that pays for the product I get a choice in this matter. Samsung does NOT decide what I want.
In the end have comes out on top as “THE PLUS WINNER”
They deliver across the world to multiple countries along with different models of phones in various memory sizes.
In closing I have purchased the S2/3/4 and the Note ¾ and was planning on buying the Note 5(64GB)
Until you can deliver phones in Canada like Apple does I will take my money elsewhere.
This is “THE NEW NOW.”
Yours truly.,
Greg Joplin

Cool story, bro.

This is exactly how I feel.

Did you actually send this to someone at Samsung?
We're in the same boat in Australia, only a 32GB version of the Note 5 is being released and it's $1099 which is crazy expensive for a model with entry-level storage. I've imported a 64GB model from a Hong Kong retailer, I believe they got their stock from Singapore. Ended up paying less and I get double the storage and I get it 2 weeks earlier to boot.

No one from Samsung is going to see it here.

Hasn't Apple ALWAYS had no SD Card and No removable battery?

Yup, lol.
I guess his point is that was an advantage in previous models over Apple, and now it isn't

32gb is plenty plus you have the cloud!! Seriously, 32gb may be sufficient for some, but damn at least give people some sort of option. I feel for those not able to get the 64gb, that would absolutely be a deal breaker for me.

My point is I want a 64GB Note 5

The vast majority will be buying the 32gb. You do have to realize Samsung got these Note 5s out REALLY fast after launch. They probably could only manage to get enough 64gb models to certain markets (like the US) at this point. In Samsung's position, what's better? Get 32gb to market where it will end up to be the most popular model or sit on it and be nice to enthusiasts like us? While I agree it is frustrating to only see 32gb and black only in the Canadian market, I hear other color options and 64gb will become available in mid-September

It is your providers that decided to carry only 32gb rather than samsung being somehow short. Traditionally even when they launched with multiple versions of the phone, they soon discontinued the higher model due to lower sales. Pay attention how long will they have 64gb edge+ available.
Note 4 ?

Ordered a 64GB unlocked Note 5 on eBay from Taiwan.
I'll report back how the reception is without band 4 (1700) AWS. The phone still supports 700, 2100, and 2600 MHz.. hopefully that'll be sufficient

"Hurr durr, 32gb is plenty when you have the cloud"
Sure, if my wireless carrier let me have 20gb data traffic a month. Or if I was always connected. Me and my 100+ mobile users all live/work in Northern Alberta. They spend their entire day taking pictures of wellsites and oilfield structures. And with a 16MP camera. those pictures can be 5-8mp a piece in basic JPG mode. I've got 21gb usable space, so without including email, social media, and movies/music, I'd fit about 20, 000 photos on a Note 5. That sounds like a lot until you realize my guys might be in the woods without cell service for 3 weeks at a time.
Its just .... just a BAD device that USE to be a professional product that is now just a poor excuse for an iPhone 6+. At least I can get 64GB of storage on an iPhone, even if the OS is built for toddlers.

How True
Greg

It's not Samsung. It's the Carriers. My buddy is a purchasing director for ******* (will not disclose because i have been asked to) and he said the previous phones that offered 64gb didnt sell well enough (of course that 100$ more for something that cost 3$ more to make is ludacris) and a lot of them had to be kept dormant until somebody bought them, or some promotion came to push the stock rotation. He said canada is a small market, we might be close to 35 million, but no more than 3000-5000 note 5 will be sold in the first month, all carriers taken into account. So Samsung consults with the carriers before production starts and they agreed that all W8 models would be 32gb black...and when the initial order will be sold, they will introduce a new color to boost sales once again, and possibly at the end of the 1st year cycle, a new capacity.
Honestly, everybody is getting ripped off with storage. It literally doesnt cost more than 25$ for a 128GB memory chip, and yet, they will charge us hundreds of dollars. The difference in build cost between a 32gb and 64gb model is not more than 10$...they should stop that storage BS and start to realistically reflect pricing. Samsung is the biggest manufacturer of flash storage on the planet, they even have a 2TB SSD that retails for 700$ and you can easily find 1TB versions for 300$. So why do they keep charging us 200$ more for 128 measly gigs?

Also, you cannot compare Samsung to Apple. Apple is a dictator when it comes to selling their phones. There are many accounts over the years of carriers backing out of their deals with Apple because of their lack of compassion. Their dictatorship has one or two perks though...it allows them to skip carrier verification and push updates to all customers at the same time through their servers. For the rest of us, it drives prices higher, their products almost never have price drops, they almost never offer any deals or bundles...
Only one company has been able to make Apple fold, China Mobile that has taken years to negotiate a deal with apple, mostly on their terms, but when you have the biggest market in the world under one roof, i guess being a dictator doesnt always work

GT-N5100 Note 8.0 3G

Does anyone know when the 3G version will be released? I have read in many reviews that battery life on the WiFi is not that impressive, do you think Samsung would ship the 3G version with a larger battery?
in Malaysia the Note 8 is launched with the 3G version already, on Friday.
all specs remain the same throughout
Shame it could have done with a bigger battery by all accounts. I'll still get one, (im)patiently waiting for a 3G version, any colour, any storage size in the UK.
I have been using Galaxy note 8 n5100 as my main phone since i bought it last april 13 here in the Philippines, the battery is pretty good it can last 10 to 12hour, with moderate calls and always connected data, autosync on moderate browsing and email with minimal gps use, the battery on this phone is way better than galaxy tab 7 plus which it replaced as my primary phone

Currently, Samsung does not seem to have any plan or intention to launch a phablet version of the device in the US. You'll likely either have to wait for them to come to their senses, or buy an international version.

I'm interested for the the international version.
Heard anything about that?
The 3G price would seem to be hovering around the $800 mark based on eBay listings for the GT-N5100, but it's availability still seems up in the air. Hopefully someone outside of the US can point you towards a reputable international seller with stock.
Wow. It will be so expensive.
Thanks for your help.
The 3G version retails around $580 in Asia. Prices will come down on eBay very soon.
I'm waiting for it in the US as well. There's a site called Negri Electronics located in Las Vegas, that has a pre order page for it, listed at $660 at the time of this post. From what I've heard, the international version should be released April 30, but I haven't found any confirmation. As far as releasing s US version, I'm sure they'll release an LTE version sooner or later for use with CDMA networks like Verizon and US Cellular, but if you plan on getting it going on T-Mobile (like me), it'll only run on their 1900mhz frequency, which allows phone calls, but mostly 2g data speeds, unless you're in an area where they've refarmed the 1900mhz frequency to run HSPA speeds. Good luck and let's hope they bring this bad boy to T-Mobile!

^Yeah, I went ahead and put in my preorder for the 16GB 3G + WiFi N5100 from Negri Electronics last week. It was the least expensive site that I could find, and I know that they are a reputable seller. And since they are in Las Vegas shipping is relatively fast to the Los Angeles area.
Up until early yesterday the site said that the "Expected Availability" date was April 23rd, but just this morning (Los Angeles time) I checked again, and now it says May 8th. Gotta wait a bit longer now and I'm chomping at the bit as it is, LOL. Still, I wish it were closer to just ~$100 (or less) of a premium for the 3G/Phone version instead of the blatant raping that it is.
And we all know that Samsung would sell EXPONENTIALLY more of these if they matched the iPad Mini pricing, and actually released the 32gb versions at the same time as the 16gb base model, and for just $30-$40 more. At least we DO have the option to add microSD cards at a reasonable cost, but really Samsung?...a $100 more for a measly 16gb additional? That's just cwazy. (Yes, I have the same issue with Apple regarding this!) And Samsung makes the RAM memory chips so it's probably something like 50¢ more in actual production cost. :/
Yes. I still ordered one, but it was not an easy (or rational) decision that I made, LOL! It's actually just a bit depressing to contemplate spending so much for their "shiny plastic products", when the competition offer much nicer physical or cosmetic designs and materials (IMO), and at less cost.
I really believe that Samsung creates amazing products, and ergonomically I prefer most of their products over Apple's in that regard. However, they did miss the mark with the speaker and capacitive button placement on the Note 8.0. And I don't know what the designers were thinking with the camera protruding so much that the tab rocks from side-to-side when placed on a table, desk, etc. :/ So much for accurate use of the S-pen (the hero feature of this device)!
IMO, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is the ONLY Samsung mobile electronics device that I can think of where I feel they came even close to matching the build quality and physical design of their competition. But once again, they priced it way out of the market. :/
And I don't mind the use of plastics one bit if they are used properly like the polycarbonates used in some of the higher-end Nokia and HTC devices. I truly feel that when Samsung gets their build quality up to par that the vast majority of the public will have no problem paying Apple-level prices (or more), and they'll sell a bazillion just like Apple does. But they're demanding premium prices, even over what Apple demands, but for an inferior physical design/build quality (IMHO). Why does Samsung not "get this"?!? People expect a BMW or Mercedes when they pay the price for one, not a Citroen (no offense to any Citroen owners).
With the Galaxy S4, if Samsung had just stepped-up the build quality alone (plus the 13mp camera), and nothing more as compared to the GS3, I would have purchased it. But with the same 'ol shiny plastic, its just a "Meh" product to me.
Also, I was really hoping that they would have included the hardware FM Radio tuner on the International version of the Note 8.0, just as they did on the Int'l SGS2, SGS3, Note (N7000), and Note 2. Initially, I didn't think that I would use the FM tuner at all, but I've found that I use it quite a bit...saves quite a bit on data as opposed to streaming.
LOL, sorry that I veered so off topic, haha. /END OF RANT
I am very much looking forward to using the new Note 8.0!

I suspect the a good chunk of the additional cost here is the license for the Wacom digitizer and related technology. Samsung is being extremely aggressive in their pricing and product diversity as a way to combat Apple, so I don't think they would risk letting a well loved brand like Apple undercut them without reason.

Agree, but Do you think that even more diversification would help Samsung?
I think they should think of introducing a Note 8.0 sans the digitiser. Then they can really target the iPad Mini. It would still be a great product as many online reviews (Engadget) claim so.
That would be the true spiritual successor to the 7.7

^This.
Negri Electronics' price is the least expensive that I've found for the 3G version from a U.S. importer...currently at $597.50. But they do have excellent customer service and are a reputable seller. I've ordered "International" items from them several times. GSM Nation and Expansys USA are good as well, but usually more expensive.
Just a heads up to those of you in the U.S. that are waiting for the Int'l 3G/Phone version...It looks as if my preordered Int'l Note 8.0 3G+WiFi (N5100) should be shipped very soon from Negri Electronics (Las Vegas) here in the U.S. FYI, Negri Electronics is showing these as "IN STOCK" at the moment. Your browser user agent must be in "Desktop View/Mode" to see the full details of stock availability. EDIT: they are now listed as "BACKORDER".
http://negrielectronics.com/samsung-n5100-galaxy-note-8-0-16gb-3g-unlocked-white.html
My credit card company sends me email alerts every time there is a transaction over $300, and they just sent me a Transaction Alert for a charge from N.E. I've had a preorder in for the Int'l Note 8.0 since April 16th, and IME Negri Electronics will only charge your credit card when they have stock in hand ready to ship, so my fingers are crossed. I'll keep you updated.
P.S. If you register an account at Negri and put the item in your shopping cart but do not follow through with the purchase (just leave it in your "shopping Cart"), in a few days Negri will email you with a $10 OFF coupon code for the item in your cart. And if you wait another few days they will send you a $20 off coupon code. It's not much, but every little bit helps as this item is so expensive already. Good luck.
I did wanted one of these for everyday devices but it's way too expensive for me. There's nothing wrong with my skyrocket I have now but I want upgrade. And my wife wants my phone so I guess I'll have to look else elsewhere.
Perhaps in a month or two the price could drop to within my reach?

Yeah, it is expensive. No doubt. But if you compare it with the price of a contract-free Unlocked Int'l Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 (which it is almost identical to hardware-wise except for the display, rear camera+LED Flash, and FM Tuner) it is a very similar price, at least here in the U.S.
I paid 608.00 on Ebay from a US seller with 1000+ feedback.

I don't know how well it's going to receive around the world. This device isn't most powerful or innovative phablet that has yet to come out from Samsung but it is rumored to be more expensive then Apple mini. I don't care if it doesn't have Octa core or 3gb of ram but I am still over the fence about Samsung thinks because it has a S pen it can crush Apple and it's iSheeps without being most powerful and priced lower then mini. Don't get me wrong I love Samsung and I stand by I will only buy Samsung phones since I went thought several HTC(UGH) and Motorola(UGH) and Apple(double UGH) but I think Samsung is being just too ambitious this time. We will see how everything goes with in few months. If this succeed and still priced high, I will go to cheaper option and buy P3100 and wait for something reasonable from Samsung.

Performance-wise, there is not a single problem with the Galaxy Note 8.0, unless you want it solely for playing the most demanding games, which the iPad Mini isn't ideal for either, so? And in some markets such as India, the 3G+WiFi Note 8.0 is only $20 USD more than the iPad Mini 3G+WiFi. For that $20 you get the S-Pen/Wacom Digitizer, PHONE & TEXT capability, and the TV/DVR/STEREO Remote Control IR Blaster! I'd say that is pretty compelling.
My other thoughts regarding the competition?...If Samsung would have made the BUILD QUALITY of the Note 8.0 similar to the HTC ONE or iPad Mini, then I think they would have a chance at being a true competitor in the general public's eyes.
And why not put the "old" 8MP Camera from the S3 in it to sweeten the deal? And please don't tell me that a good camera is useless in a tablet. When you need it, you need it! I can't tell you how many soccer moms and dads I've seen using their iPads to capture photos and videos of their kids between browsing the web or "Facebook'ing" during the game. Or taking photos of products, clothes, or comparison shopping by scanning barcodes and QR codes...or "scanning" business or personal receipts into financial apps.
I also think that they should really advertise and push the IR Blaster/Remote Control feature of this device! Just about everyone that can afford a tablet has an HDTV and cable/satellite service. Having the IR Blaster/WatchOn/Peel functionality, combined with the S-Pen features, true Multi-Window multitasking, and cellular Phone/Texting capability make this tablet/phablet truly unique in the marketplace.
BUT, they need interactive or video displays in the stores like Best Buy that demonstrate these unique features with a "Try that with an iPad...they can't do it" type of message. Everybody already knows what an iPad can do. But when comparing tablets in hand, customers just see a screen with a bunch of icons, they don't know the awesome things that ONLY the Note 8.0 can do!
They also need to advertise as above (like in the new S4 "swimming pool" commercial) how older folks and children can use this device, in addition to the unique advantages it gives a business person. And they need to give developers much more incentive to create unique and top notch tablet-specific apps, with and without S-pen functionality. And they also need to stop trying to copy or duplicate the Google apps that are already available and better! They need to realize that their tablets are nothing without the Google ecosystem.
/END OF ANOTHER RANT, LOL! Sorry.

You have the option of third party suppliers. The other option is to wait a little longer. The LTE version is close to being released. There is a video on You Tube showing it but it's in Chinese and I can't understand it. I will say it looks good though. I'm waiting to see what frequencies the 4G version will come with as well.
I'm pretty sure the only LTE version announced is one that does not use US LTE bands and still would only give HSPA speeds to most people.
^You are most likely correct. I would be surprised if this model had LTE bands that are usable in the U.S. Perhaps if the proper antennas and radio amps are already in the hardware, a crafty developer could port the radio software from the AT&T Galaxy Note II?
UPDATE on my purchase from Negri Electronics:
I received an email from Negri Electronics today with a FedEx Tracking Number for the Galaxy Note 8.0 3G+WiFi (GT-N5100).
However, it is being shipped directly from Hong Kong and not from the N.E. location in Las Vegas, so it will take a few more days to get here than I originally expected (Los Angeles area).
Other devices that I have purchased from them have shipped from the L.V. location so I didn't expect this when I placed my preorder. If I had known ahead of time, I might have ordered one from eBay seller 'never-msrp' in Houston, TX.
Either way I'm looking forward to getting it. I just wanted to let anyone else who has preordered from Negri, or is thinking about it, know what's up.

I've been searching like crazy trying to see if anyone's been able to do this with the Note 8 or 10.1, but I can't seem to find anyone that's been able to do it. I know there's a way to enable T-Mobile's AWS bands for a rooted AT&T N2, but as far as enabling any LTE or AWS bands on a N8 or N10.1 (non-Verizon), I haven't had any luck. [Q] Where can you buy the 32gb version?

Samsung said S5 in 16 or 32gb. I want it only if 32gb plus micro sd card.
Has anyone seen for sale yet that will sell in the UK
Both the 16gb and 32gb models will have the microSD slots. The S5 will be available in 150 countries starting April 11th.
I'm not sure about this but I think Samsung tend to wait a couple of months before they release the higher capacity versions. I think it took a extra couple of months for the 32gb note 2 to come out when I got one there was only a 16gb. But that may have only applied to my region.
Could be samsungs way of hoping you buy their device twice. I reckon it would be wishful thinking on their part. But I don't think I've seen a 32gb device released this year with microSD.
I'll be waiting for the 32gb version too, and will also be getting myself a 128gb microSD when they are released.
So far all the pre orders are for the 16gb. That's just not enough free memory for me in the internal storage. I couldn't move my setup from my Note 3 to the S5

It's got to be available to buy first... It's a mysterious phone model at the moment.
Verizon sells the 16GB in store and only offers the 32GB version online, they claim users don't buy the 32GB version due to the extra $50. I guess those same users prefer less food for the same money, less gas mileage for the same money and lower IQ's.
At least there is an online option. Nothing here in UK yet

Once theres root (and i can't see that taking a long time) Folder mount will be working with the S5 so all your huge apps/games will be able to be moved to the SD card in their entirety so the 16GB model shouldn't be an issue, although 32GB would be a very welcomed feature.
For me 32GB should be standard, 16GB in this day and age simply isn't enough., especially if you've chosen not to root the device and can't use apps like folder mount.
Root is no good as it voids warranty now there is Knox. Plus certain apps I have detect root and won't run.

Not in Europe.
Given what Samsung is doing with the country lock restriction it may get harder to buy elsewhere and bring it back to your home country without first activating it.
Yet no places in the UK have the 32gb on offer for pre order yet

What info ? Find me one UK store selling 32gb? According to some reputable sources they are only getting 16gb.

See I know no one wants to hear this, but this is where Apple is very strong. They sell all models and colors upfront. AT&T doesn't even have the blue GS5 available. Of course if it becomes available later, the blue will not come with 32GB of storage. Its ridiculous.

Well that's kinda questionable with the iPhone 5s launch (it was pretty much black only for a month or two), but at least they had them. No exclusivity crap. I have no love for Samsung and their exclusivity at every possible turn. They play favorites more than any other company. EVERYTHING goes to South Korea many months before everywhere else. I commend them on the global S5 launch, but Snapdragon 800 S4 anyone? Galaxy Round? S4 Black? As one of Samsung's larger markets, we're pretty left out.

UK pricing - going up, not down!

Normally a few months after the initial surge of interest in a product dies down, the price tends to drop a little. However for some reason the Note 10.1 2014 seems to be going up if anything here in the UK, although in the States it does appear to be dropping.
The US price is now generally around $499 (plus tax) for the wi-fi model, while the UK price has gone up from under £400 a few months ago (£365 at John Lewis I gather) to nearer £450 most places.
Does anyone know what's going on, have Samsung UK increased their suggested price or something?

When I saw the UK prices, it really baulked me.
I wanted a tablet that not only worked on Wi-Fi, but 3G, 4G/LTE, but I couldn't get one, especially a 32Gb model, which I consider to be the basement model (I wouldn't even consider a 16Gb).
I nearly paid the extra for an Ipad, however I decided to do more research and in the end I imported one from HK and even when I paid the VAT on it, it came in significantly cheaper than some of the prices of the 16Gb, Wi-Fi model.
It's worth doing a little extra research and importing it yourself and get a better specified machine, at a lower price.
I could pick one up in the States next time I'm over there, but I'm a little wary of not having a proper international warranty as that caught me out once (thanks Samsung, so much for global corporations!).
16GB actually doesn't worry me as long as it has an SD card slot, much cheaper to put 64GB onto it that way than pay for a bigger base model. Well, upcoming stock KitKat stupidities notwithstanding anyway, but that won't be hard to fix.

Why buy a 16Gb one? You can get the 32Gb version quite easily over there, but the currency conversion made it more expensive to buy it from the US, also I used PayPal to pay for it, so I had a bit of protection too.
My SM-P605 has a 64Gb card in and I'm already running low on memory, so I only hope that the new SanDisk 128Gb card comes out soon at a reasonable price.
I think a few places had them on offer just before and after christmas. Got mine from John Lewis for £399 in mid jan, took ages to find somewhere with one in stock at that price. There were quite a few places charging (or trying to) over £500! I think about £450 was the average book price but so many places were out of stock, or were trying to sell the old one still at £399........
They want to sell the new Tab 10.1 at such a high price, that they had to raise that of the note, to keep people from going straight for a note instead.
Let's be honest. Samsung charging iPad+ prices for the Pro/Note series takes balls of steel. Android tablets are bought typically by bargain seekers unwilling to pay iPad prices and are typically 7-8" and under $250. One thing iPads have always provided was a certain cache and snob appeal; everyone knows what everyone else paid. With the Pro/Note's Samsung seems to be raising the snob appeal. With the 16GB iPad Air at 399 GBP whether Samsung prices at 375 GBP or 425 GBP it's still close enough that if people really considered a high-end Android tablet as an iPad alternative they'd still buy it. I don't think someone predisposed to an iPad would say "I'll buy the Samsung Tab|Pro because I'll save 50 GBP." How many people think a high-end Android tablet is an iPad alternative is a whole different discussion and will be proven by the success (or failure) of Samsung's strategy in offering the Pro/Note series in the first place.
The G-Tab 4 certainly is a step down in design and specs so perhaps Samsung's strategy is to make the 4's their volume seller (EG: BMW 3-series) and the Pro/Note's their margin leader (EG: BMW 7-series).
Apparently the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 will pack a 10.6″ (odd, right?) display of 1280×800 pixels resolution and will run on Snapdragon 400 chipset with a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor, Adreno 305 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM. Other revealed specs are the 3MP rear and the 1.2MP front camera, 16GB internal storage (12GB actually available) and the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. Digging into the GFX Benchmark database you can also find the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. It has absolutely the same specs but less screen estate.
I got my 32gb LTE P605 from eBay for 465. Came from HK In 3 says. No customs charges. Flashed a OEM UK firmware and all is great.

And gave up your 2 year UK warranty in the process. Or you can ship it round trip to HK at your expense to have warranty repairs done there. Does Samsung UK even service grey market devices for a fee? Samsung U.S. won't. I had to ship my UK-purchased i9100 back to the UK for a cracked bezel. Caveat Emptor.
The guy I bought it from is a dealer. He will sort any warranty issues and is in the UK. I spoke to him before I bought it.

Well as long as you know a guy, you won't need Samsung's 2-year support then.

You're right I won't. It's 0x1 anyway so I'll claim off household as accidental damage if anything happens.

Got mine from HK too. Not rooted yet but soon will and once it's 0x1 the difficulty of a warranty claim becomes irrelavent.
It cost me £439 inc. import duty.
Got a bill from FedEx . Contacted the seller and he's refunded me already! What a quality seller!

Price and availability

S6 Edge could cost £100 more than the traditional form factor coming in at £649 SIM free according to reports. No conformation the memory capacity. Would you pay that much?

Yes i will......If i do it ..i`ll do it right......the EDGE rocks..:fingers-crossed:
Official prices from Samsung Spain are frightening! € 1049 for a 128gb Edge! I do like the green though. Unusual colour.
Samsung Spain Shop
PS Also showing on Amazon.es at the same price.
On the Samsung UK website the edge only comes in 64gb and 128gb versions so it's probably going to be £649 for the 64gb version.

Now I'm a big phone geek, but i couldn't justify £684 on a phone. I wonder if this high price point is going to hold back the popularity of this phone. It, any any other phone is just not worth that kind of money.
yes in Canada too, more than 1000CAD for the 128Gb
prices are high for this phone

Oh absolutely. If they are trying to get an extremely premium price for it, Apple could swoop in and drop the price of the iPhone 6 to draw people away. I really want the edge but I'm having a hard time justifying that much of a price jump over the standard S6.

I can hardly believe that more than 10% of those thinking about S6 Edge will go for cheaper iPhone instead.
amazon.de have S6Edge 64GB for 950 Euro ion pre-order.

Seems to me that, if it's non expandable, Samsung have got to make the larger sizes generally available, unlike previous models.

Sorry, I was speaking of the S6 in general. While the edge is awesome, the novelty isn't worth $150 extra over a standard S6.. (If the pricing howipig posted is correct) but maybe that's just me. I REALLY want one but anything over $75-100 USD more than the standard S6 isn't worth it.
If they do it like they did the note Edge
Regular 32gb S6 will be about $699
S6 Edge 32gb will be about $799
Which are the first 20 or more countries that will be getting the Galaxy S6 Edge is what i am looking for
Mobile fun has the prices up already. There very costly and as much as I want one its not going to be an immediate purchase. 500 quid seems an acceptable amount for a phone, once you go past that it's getting a little silly.
Sure I have a note 4 but I got it on contract so I didn't really notice I paid for it.
Apple never lowers their prices even when the new model is due in a couple of weeks. Yet you see the retailers selling them at a discount because they have to meet sales numbers to Apple as part of their contract. The Carriers can lower the on contract price for the phones 4-6 months out and then again when we draw closer to a new model to clear inventory.
My only question is what are the capacities the US Carriers are going to offer, I want 128GB Edge, color is negotiable.
I have the t mobile jump plan, so I'm my phone bill will only jump up about 15 dollars more a month than it is now. Only have to pay that for a year or until I pay half the phone off then jump again next March or April. I'm probably getting the black 64 or 128 gb in black. Cheers everyone!

Nice. Not bad at all. Want the 64GB one in Gold but I'll be upgrading with EE so hopefully I can get a decent deal as I've been with them for 10 years and got a great upgrade last year. Wonder when we'll start seeing the 128gb ones.
