have you used lollipop at all? I have and I can now indeed wait. 5.1 just fixes a couple of issues it introduced, namely the notification up swipe and led.
I could not find one thing I prefer on lollipop over 4.4.4.
For those of us in the US, will we likely get the update around the same time as the India rollout? Since there is no carrier specific z3 compact, we shouldn't have to wait for the carriers to make their own?

It is not a great idea to upgrade via official OTA if you are not on stock recovery (which - I think - is not your case, since I assume you are rooted on latest fw).
To make sure to keep root privileges, just wait for somebody here at xda-developers to release a pre-rooted firmware based on the official OTA, or if you are able to, build it yourself.
We have just to wait a few more days, hopefully!

Flashing Nordic region ftf of the 5803 model?
Is that ok?
Different region is fine as they are generic.
But different model number is ok?

The main difference between the 5833 and 5803 is the lte bands. The 5833 is a TD-LTE model while the 5803 is a LTE A model. In India, airtel offers TD LTE, hence the TD LTE model for India.

Thats great then.
But if we do it, will we get the OTA update for the 5833 when they will be released?
Or probably we would need to flash them once they are out just as we are about to do now.
Not that much of a big deal in my opinion if we are doing that in the first place.
Sony is delaying it so much and if they are no issues as everyone is confirming, i think its the way to go.
Thanks for your inputs guys.
Off to flashing.
Regards,
Pdash
No Indian lollipop yet right? Z2 in India has the update but no luck for us. Probably a good thing. I spoke to Sony India who said Indian z3c will stay on Kitkat due to network issues.
Just came this morning

A little bit better, smoother and faster. I think the battery life is better
Good news. Unfortunately here I'm still waiting for one update. My N5 have a lot of problems and I need to reboot all the time.

I tried several Fw till now but I found this the best available till now: great battery, better reception, no lags.
Is RAM management better? No unlock screen lag which happens sometimes? Do I need to wipe or I can update via Odin?

RAM seems ok, no screen lag till now;
Odin is ok, but a full wipe/factory reset after installation as usual is suggested
In this firmware don't work secret menu *#0011#
I'm wondering if this firmware would fix the standby drain issue that some of us has it?
I flashed this and works fine, thanks to the OP for the download link. Can't say I've noticed my difference performance or battery wise though.

How to I check the phone region ? I am from Pakistan BTW.
And you sure you got the update for 820s variant ? AFAIK some people got lolipop from start when they purchased the phone but others who bought it earlier didn't get the update.

no

I heard Brazil got it
I heard Brazil and India got it. I thought it would be released side by side with those two because (xt1607 anyways) because the only difference is bands and dual SIM.

It came out in July 2018 for US users. I am assuming this means you have already received it.
Anybody have any news when the Tab S5e is getting Android 10? I was expecting Mar/Apr. That estimate is based on past experience with Samsung tablets. In the past, Samsung pushed out OS updates to its flagship tablets after it updated its phones.

T725 is LTE model, T720 is wifi only model so no it's not interchangeable
At last!
Is there some way to force T725 update on a device outside UK? (changing device region, using a VPN, or so?)

As far as I know this is not possible because the CSC code is checked.
You can change your CSC code to UK and it should work.
But I think you need root to change your CSC code.
