This may be really stupid, but I see that the phone is set to GSM/CDMA auto (PRL).
Does this mean that this thing may work with say Sprint's CDMA network, if I plug in a Sprint SIM?
I read somewhere that the radio supports both GSM and CDMA (although it doesn't mean it has an antenna for both).
I don't think so that chip is 'dual'.
(and there is no list for this options)

Hm, when I enter the service menu as posted above, I get a whole bunch of options, some say CDMA Only, some GSM only. Mine is set at GSM/CDMA auto (PRL).
For a brief description of the menus, see this:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/android/thread?tid=6a327a95211ac789&hl=en
Anyway, it would be too good to be true

This specific menu does not work with this phone.

Forcing HSDPA mode?

With every other android phone i had i could force the phone to use 3G only by going to *#*#4636#*# and selecting "WCDMA Only".
I can do the same on the SGS but it does not do anything. it has no effect on the phone.
Anyone has any idea how to do this on the SGS?
Yes..I am looking for the same information..Without this feature..i am screwed.the phone keep going to 2G as long as the signal strength is stronger than 3G..this priority scheme logic suck big time for data centric phone which data speed is more important..

You don't need to type all that *#*#.........#*#* on your I9000, just hold the menu button down(which is the button in the middle of the bottom of the phone) and you will see an icon called service mode and this is the mode after you type all that out.

That's only if you've typed all that stuff already in the current session.
The Network app (by Philipp Mangelow) is a bit easier to handle though.

Secret Menus

Secret Menus
EDIT: ROOT NOT NEEDED FOR THIS TO WORK.
This is a list of the codes to get into the secret menus on the SF. The list has been complied mostly by egg_head over at XDA, as well as a few others.
I shouldn't have to say it, but I will..
I nor this forum or the op is not responsible if you brick your phone.
Play with these things at your own risk.
Even if I said it's been tested by me and confirmed to work.
It's not my fault if your phone takes a crap on you.
Make a backup of your phone.
Some members of another forum where having trouble using these codes and I've discovered that you need Hidden menu enabled. To enable Hidden menu, do the following:
Go into the Dialer and enter *#83786633 then press the Home key
Go back into the phone dialer and enter *#22745927
Now a box will come up asking for the SPC code. Enter 000000
Press the Hidden menu Enable radio button.
Now you can use these codes.
The dialing code string you have to use is *##
Here are some things you can gain access to
Audio Tuning
*#28346#
Several audio tuning menus.
I've only tested the two items below:
To silence boot and shutdown audio go to Situation/BOOTSOUND and turn the values to 0. I've tested and confirmed this works.
To silence the volume key audio when turning the volume up/down go to Situation/VOLUMEKEY and turn the values to 0. I've tested and confirmed this works.
Full Bat Popup
*#3844228#
This allows you to disable the full battery pop-up.
I have tested this and it works successfully.
HwCodec
*#0002*28346#
Audio path volume controls. Most importantly, it looks like there's a sidetone adjustment.
I have not tested any of these items yet.
Shutdown
*#7594#
This enables you to shut your phone off by long-pressing the power/lock key.
No more pop-up confirmation.
I have tested this and it works successfully.
I also need to point out that this disables your slide lock screen.
Diag/Testing Mode
*#4636*1111#
GPSSetup menu
*#1472365#
The settings are set to the "fixed" values by default.
You can go into Command and then start GPS and force a satellite lock.
There's other cool info there too.
*#7594#
If your enable this, it appears to not only shutdown your phone with a long press of the power key, but it also disables your lock screen (puzzle/glass screen).
Enter GPS debug/settings application by typing *#1472365#
click "Setup" tab
click "position mode"
Click "starting mode
Enable "Cold Start"
Back out.

Updated above info. Wherever instructed to enter an SPC code, dial 000000. The differs from Sprint customers who have to enter an MSL code, which they typically don't have.
The code to change the voice codec EVRC to EVRC-B has been found. Just follow the directions below. If it dials the code you entered then you need to follow the steps in the first post to enable the secret menus.
Open the dialer then press
**772
SPC code 000000
The bottom of the screen will have buttons that are directional like a d-pad.
Press down until you see:
SVC Mode NAM1
End of BASIC NAM
Exit
Press right once you will see EXIT change to MORE
Hit enter
Press Down once and you will See
HomePage VoiceSO
EVRC
Push right button to change to EVRC-B
Hit OK Phone will reboot
I made a few calls after this and was told by everyone that the quality was so much better.
WARNING!!!!
THIS COMMAND
"##GPSCLRX# - Reset the GPS - (Verizon customers: whenever prompted for SPC enter 000000)"
FORCES THE SAMSUNG MOMENT TO LOOP RESTART FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES UNTIL IT FINALLY REBOOTS THE PHONE.
I HAVE TESTED THIS, AND WENT TO SPRINT STORE, WHERE THEY JUST REPLACED THE PHONE
I'm not sure what it would do with the fascinate...
I have used the hidden gps menu alot, but when i tried the "##GPSCLRX# command it made the Samsung loop restart, it would reboot itself for 5 or 10 minutes before finally booting to home screen
I read on another forum (don't remember which one) that it clears the GPS then functions as i said above, the posters fix was to boot to recovery and restore phone to factory defaults.
i was unable to boot to recovery using his key sequence (volume down, power key and camera simultaneously)
I want use the secret menus, but am having issues with the first steps. I am supposed to go into the Dialer and enter *#83786633 then home, then after entering *#22745927 do I do something else bc nothing cues me to enter SPC code??
Thanks!
Here is what you do. You enter the first code, then go home. Back to the dialer and delete the first code then enter the second. after that a screen pops up asking for the password or whatever it is then enter 000000. after that start entering whatever codes you want. It confused me too at first.
On android 2.2, there is listing for mms provisioning in ##DATA#. It asks for the lock code. I tried the SPC but it does not work. I also tried other possible lock codes. What could be the lock code?
##DATA#
MMS provisioning Lock Code = 500667
Hey guys, the hidden menues don't really work after 2.2. I remembered that TSM parts in the COMRom had it already accessable though.
You can also read this link. I have not verified it yet but looks to take care of your full battery pop up issue.

Disable Lock Screen
Hey I was wondering if you were able to get this to work...I upgraded the software the other morning and now no app bypasses the lock screen...I use NoLED as well, and if I can get the lock disabled and be able to use NoLED I would be golden, for some reason that whole lock thing just pisses me off ;o)
I went to the dialer punched in the codes to unhide the menu, I assume all I have to do is hit send? Didnt work... am I missing something?

Use at your own risk and backup your phone first, then you can try the below which worked for me.
To disable it without using an app or rooting your phone, you can enable the Hidden menu by doing the following:
Go into the Phone dialer and enter *#83786633
Press the Home key
Go back into the phone dialer and remove the previous numbers
Enter *#22745927
A menu box will prompt for the SPC code. Enter: 000000
Press the Hidden Menu Enable radio button.
Now you can use the below codes to do the following:
Disable Full Bat Popup:
*#3844228#
This allows you to disable the full battery pop-up.
Enable quick Shutdown and disable swipe screen:
*#7594#
Disables your slide lock screen completely.
This enables you to shut your phone off by long-pressing the power/lock key.
By-passing the pop-up confirmation and mode selection.
Again, do so at your own risk... Done this twice successfully on 2 separate Fascinate phones.
Why? There are threads and websites and blogs listing this stuff already. Pointless post.

I usually don't say anything against ANYONE, but if you google this stuff you will find out that... this is the same post as many others, and I mean identicle.. as in copy and pasted from there to here.
I wanted to try this out for the gps, however its not working for me. Does this work for CM7 or just TW? I cant seem to access hidden menus.
I can only access *#*#4636#*#*, no others?
I can only access *#*#4636#*#*, no others?
You have hit *#22745927 then enter 000000 in the SPC code to enable the hidden menu's
I gather the codes up and put them in one thread I thought might make it easier on the ones looking for them if you got a problem with don't open the thread!!!!
No dice on any key combo I've tried. I found in another forum for different phone that cm7 doesn't work with these codes.

[INFO] Galaxy S III service menu code

Hi there,
The service menu code has not changed for the Galaxy S III from other Galaxy phones, but its format is different now. The code should be entered as follows:
" *#197328640# "
The menu gives control on some of the phone features, plus it gives some radio/HW debug info.
I usually used the menu to enable HD Voice (WB-AMR). But now the menu where the switch is has been disabled and cant be accessed as with the Galaxy S II.(its in the Audio section of the Service menu).
Hopefully someone will find a a way to enable it.
Hope this info helps others

How to enable developer options on your smartwatch?.

Just like a smartphone, a connected Android watch also has developer options. These are indispensable for who wants to root his watch (yes, this may have a usefulness, but it is another debate). So here's the simple way to access this new menu.
In reality, you do not have to break your head too much. The technique is the same as on all current phones, since Google decided, it is not clear why to hide this menu (perhaps to avoid possible manipulation errors that could disturb the user experience).
01- you must first go into the setting menu of your watch. Under Android Wear, a double tap on the screen should show you a menu. Parameters is the first choice.
02- Then go to the About submenu and tap 7 times the version number. The operating system will then warn you that there are only two then one touch to activate the menu "Options for developers".
03- Once that is done. Return to settings and you will have, at the bottom, this famous menu.
04- Among the useful options you can find 'Leave enabled during charging', 'Bluetooth monitoring connection' and 'ADB debugging'. This option must be activated if you want to inject something into the watch, for example, to root a smartwatch Android Wear.
Note that after activating this new menu, it is possible that a white slider (a small circle) appears constantly under your finger. Do not worry, it's normal!.
You can disable it by going to the developer menu and disabling "Show Selected Items"
It is the only subtlety of the thing. For the rest, your watch will under no circumstances be modified by the addition of this new menu.
If you ever make a return to the default factory configuration, your developer menu will need to be re-enabled unless you use a custom Android Wear ROM.
I think this method is not working in all the version of the smartwatch.
In Android wear 2.0, there is a different method to enable developer mode.
