General Question For 900v

I have been trying for a few hours tonight to figure out how to root my wife's phone. I have tried several different methods, towelroot, odin. What I have realized is that I can't find any guides that are up to date. Everything I have tried has failed. ODIN 3.10.7 continues to fail with anything i throw at it (yes, I have developer mode, unknown sources etc....).
Is there a guide out there that I can use today that works for the G5 release? Do I need to restore to a previous version?
Thanks all!
If its on lollipop you will probably have to downgrade to kitkat, root and the ull be able to upgrade to lollipop again rooted, but carefull cause if your on the latest lollipop update i dont think theres a method...look in thread there is a lot of tutorials

How do I root the S5 SM-G900W8

I have searched all over the web and this site for a tutorial or how to on rooting my S5 with the stock Marshmallow update. Most of the how to's are all outdated and I don't want to run into crashing my phone again by using anything outdated. I tried installing TWRP recovery or flashing it with ODIN and it didn't work. I had lollipop rooted before so I know I'm capable if I'm linked to the right tools. The way I did the Lollipop root was with TWRP and SuperSU but as I said before I couldn't get the recovery installed properly. It said pass in Odin but I got a bootloop and unstable phone so I prefer if someone knows the right tools and how to please clue me in.

CF autorrot fails to root G900F

Greetings.
So i am using my sgs5 wit android 6.0.1 for a while and i was able to root it with CF autoroot. Yesterday my phone just restarted itself and i just discovered that i lost root. I re downloaded the autoroot for 6.0.1 and odin 3.07 but after the second restart i still have no root. I tried reflashing and watched what the script is writing out. It says that the device is patched but i dont know what it means.
Have someone any idea what is preventing the root?
Thanks in advance for the help .

is anyone able to use their rooted device with the latest firmware?

so i followed the root guide, and i couldn't get either internet, calling or texting to work at the same time. i followed the guide many times and still couldn't get a fully functioning device. I am running the latest firmware, PJ2. I guess i can't downgrade. Is there anyone who has had luck? i know it isn't sprint because i then factory reset and unrooted, and activated the phone with no issues. So it is a root thing causing problem. I tried both activating then rooting, and rooting then activating.
At the moment, on PJ2, I do not believe Voice\SMS is working. You can get LTE Data using the build.prop changes outlined in the guide.
EDIT: Check out this THREAD
From what I can discern the process would look something like this:
-Root PJ2 with method listed in this forum, or listed in the linked thread
-Flash Echoe Rom with Flashfire to get back to PE1 (from here you might be good to go, tether mod listed in linked thread)
Continue if you want just stock rooted or if Echoe is messed up
-ODIN Flash PE1 firmware
-Follow 10/25/2016 root method or attempt to follow the guide listed in the linked thread.
@jakemastaflash would flashing that rom trip knox?

No flashing echoe doesnt trip knox and i don't think you can flash to pe1 from echoe. Your still on the latest firmware if that's what you flashed echoe on.
