Hi
I have a d802 lg g2.
Tonight i tried updating twrp via autorec.
after the update was complete i used twrp manager to start a nandroid backup.
After rebooting the phone gets stuck in a boot loop on the LG logo. I can manage to access twrp but the touch is screwed up and the bottom half of the screen dont register correctly so i cant press the buttons needed.
Can I push an older twrp via download mode? if so, how?
Any other options?
Please help

First, I would recommend opening your phone and to check your motherboards model number. There are a lot of refurbished d802's that have altered motherboards. That is why you are facing a broken touch screen and other errors. Please confirm your board number otherwise you may brick your phone.

There's nothing wrong with my touchscreen, it's the updated twrp that don't work properly.

That's not what I'm saying. I think your twrp is drunk because you do not have the correct version installed. Can you check the motherboard model number so that you do not brick your phone.

Situation updated:
last night i updated twrp using cm12, this sent me into a bootloop showing lg logo. i could access twrp but in twrp the touchscreen was acting up making it impossible to do anything.
today ive managed to use lg flash tool with a TOT setting me back to stock 442, after this i used ioroot and i tried installing twrp via autorec and this has put me in an endless boot to twrp and im not able to do anything from there, but touch works in twrp now.
using lg flash tool now fails each time

I rooted using ioroot12 and tried installing recovery using both play store CWM installer for D800 as well as a manual install using the method shown in a thread in the D800 development forum. Both methods appear to install successfully but when I reboot to recovery I get a black screen (can tell black light is lit though) and nothing else. Holding the power eventually reboots phone back into the stock os. When in the broken recovery status and connected to computer via USB I get a slew of drive letters all prompting to format.
I'm guessing those are all the directories on the phone which are formatted android fs?
Any ideas what is happening? ioroot12 contains some changes to be compatible with the latest OTA, maybe the stock recovery file structure changed a little after the OTA?

i repeatedly tried over and over after the ota.... it wont work you have to go back to stock reset. root then install twrp or cwm. twrp worked for me and cwm messed up my device causing a complete wipe of everything including logos and everything just a black screen that wouldnt power on. 30 minutes later it booted back up??? be careful.
Thanks

Thanks, probably saved my phone from certain destruction. I followed the steps to go back to stock and successfully rooted and was able to install custom recovery finally.
I seem to recall the OTA taking a long time for being so small, I wonder if they played with partition sizing or something on the "o" firmware.

i only seen that the att apps were updated after the update as well as a security update tightening up their security for their bootloader.as far as partitioning uncertain on that.
glad it worked for you.
I spent a few hrs last night into the am trying to root and flash a working recovery. Just realized my phone auto updated to the OTA and, think I need to go back to the pre-ota. For whatever reason, I can't get twrp to update, no matter how I try to flash it.

I got mine to root using ioroot 12. I got twrp by usint freegee app. The only thing is my recovery is 2.6.3.0. Trying to figure 9ut how to get a newer version of recovery now.

Check with the guys on the webchat If you get stuck. I gotta flash pre-OTA personally. Something that I flashed stuck and won't let twrp update.

If you're on 10o now, try using FreeGee from the Play Store, as mentioned, to get twrp installed.
heres what youre failing to realize..... with 2.6.3.0 I cant flash anything other than, nothing. Everything fails..... I cannot upgrade to the later versions of twrp, any way shape form or fashion. thanks tho

I couldn't get the 10o OTA to install but I used FreeGee to install TWRP and it was incredibly easy/simple. I've seen a few people now that have said they were also able to flash TWRP after upgrading to 10o using FreeGee as well.

If you have TWRP installed already you can just boot into recovery, flash a new TWRP or CWM recovery zip and then go to the "Advanced" menu and select Reboot>Recovery to boot into recovery again and you'll be in the new recovery you just flashed.
I tried that like 30 times over the last 2 days. I finally got flashtool to go back pre ota and now I'm running PA and have 2.6.3.3 for twrp. My reason for things not working is, I think that when I flashed something, it stuck making the code all jacked. Please next time, don't ASSume that because its supposed to work that it always will. There will always be human error.

Hi I've been lurking here for a while back when I had my One X and I hate for this to be my first post but I bricked my G2. Well, actually At&t did. I followed garyd9 method to get rooted kit kat and that worked great. The problem is I installed Xposed framework and a root hider along with it (so I could use isis wallet) so AT&T pushed this recent update to my phone anyway. I did a titanium backup of my text messages but not a nandroid...
Now I can only enter recovery TWRP 2.7.0.0 I managed to replace it with 2.6.3.3 with adb push and then install so I hope not everything is broken.
However, I cannot enter download mode or even boot to bootloader. Everytime I turn my phone off all that shows is the LG logo with a black background and then TWRP loads. I would replace my .img (boot, aboot, etc.) but I can't enter fastboot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well since you had an ota your device isn't it that bad of shape you should try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696 which is to remove the update

I cannot figure out for the life of me why I cannot install TWRP on my rooted 4.4.2 ATT D800 LG G2. I'm gonna ask some pretty dumb questions because I feel like I'm missing something here.
I installed TWRP2 custom recovery onto my rooted D800 ATT G2, via the "dd" method using adb on computer. All of the pushing and loki stuff worked, but when I boot into recovery, I get a "Secure boot error" and "Boot certificiation verify" error, then I reboot the phone again and it turns back on like normal. I really want to flash the volume boost onto my device but I cannot without a custom recovery.
I've done hours and hours of research and I cannot figure this out.
Thanks in advance.

Seems like you need to flash the patched kernel for the system to boot.

I have the same problem on my rooted with IoRoot 4.4.2 D802 LG G2 with Stock ROM D80220c-SEA-xx
But I can't install AutoRec: when the install button is pressed, the installer says "app not installed", and the only option is "done".
P.S. I wanted to ask about it in AutoRec thread but I can't post there because I don't have 10 posts yet.
P.P.S I just downloaded it using another computer and it installed fine!
I have same problem with lg g2 sprint ls980 plz help me ??

Well im kinda new to the rooting thing but I believe my phone was only soft rooted. I was trying to install twrp but I got a dead android with a explanation mark or it would go to a black screen after the lg logo.i didn't know I was soft rooted when I was trying this. so after awhile I gave up. my phone still booted normally without trying to go into recovery. recently an update for android came out ( kitkat 4.4.2) so I decided to see if it would work. it restarted the phone to install the update and it got stuck in fastboot mode. i managed to find a way to install twrp using fastboot and adb. i did it but the touch screen was all funked up and i ended up wiping the system i think. just cant win. twrp wont mount the drive eiher. maybe because i have Ubuntu?

well first the reason your phone died is because of the update you did after you had broken your stock recovery, if you have twrp currently there are two things you need to do:
1)get rid of the update using this
2)adb push/sideload a rom and try to flash or try and get in download mode to restore to stock

no fastboot is only for restoring the phones stock partitions but if you use twrp sideload feature it should flash it once it's done copying it(I know that's how it works with philz)

now i just need to figure out whats going on with the touch sensor. idk if its the phone or just twrp
Hi guys,
I got my brand new LG G2 in the mail today. I was following a guide to root it (which went fine). I then installed autorec to get the TWRP recovery. After clicking the 'to recovery' button in autorec and rebooting the screen is completely covered in colored lines as you can see in the attached picture. From my research I suspect I need the jdi patch for the kernel but I have no idea how to install this with the screen out of action. I'm not even sure if TWRP was installed properly. I would reply appreciate some help with this.

I tried to enter download mode to reflash but it makes the usually booting up sound so I don't think download mode is working (of course I can't see anything on the screen). Anything else I can try?
I was just able to do a stock re-flash. It didn't fix the issue
When you say stock re-flash, do you mean through the LG Flash Tool? If you flashed the stock ROM that way, it would replace the kernel and solve the problem. I don't think your stock ROM flashed properly. Once you get it back, there is a version of Autorec with the JDI panel kernel. Here's a link to download the Autorec with JDI patch: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxVbJlj3DLzKd2QyQ1Y1Vmh1dTQ
Just follow this method and all will be ok.
