Browser not loading streams not working - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Free mobile app
I have been having issues trying to search the Web on any browser. It doesn't load all the way unless I stop the loading tab. Also when I want to watch a live stream of a show it doesn't work at all. It worked when I first tried to watch a stream never after. My note 4 can play the stream fine, amd loads Web pages instantly. I have the newest jasmine lollipop. I'm rooted, I have a great signal all bars. I have not factory reset due to not wanting to. By streaming I mean I purchased a cbs subscription to watch shows from their app or website like big brother live feeds they work on note 4 and my laptop instantly but not on note 3.

I fixed it. Thanks for the 41 views.:banghead:

Not a site but check out the mediafly app in the market. Video blog/website aggregator. Also if you want hulu on your tab use the PlayOn software on your pc and then allshare on your tab.

Has anyone got new iPlayer apk?

Hi all,
Does anyone have the newest iPlayer apk, or does it not work at all with the side loaded flash?
I've not tried to side load the app, but my set up of side loaded flash and the Aurora browser was able to play content on the iplayer website once I set desktop user agent in browser.

Isn't the iplayer app just a bookmark to the mobile site anyway? Whenever I run it it just opens in a browser.
Sent from my Transformer while the N7 is lost in the Play Store Black Hole.
16gb N7 UK ordered 3rd July.
The BBC iPlayer app does not work on the Nexus 7, as I can only presume it uses the "dead" flash.

YouTube streaming

Hi. After all updates done to my note and to YouTube app, streaming still sucks.... is this app related or is something related to my wifi channels ?
Streming problems occur in my home and in my work place.... so the channel option flunks a bit. YouTube Web page seems to work fine....
Confused.........

A good start would be to go to this web site to get the download speeds that your getting at those locations.
You could also install an app called "WiFi analyzer" in the play store to see how strong your WiFi signal is.
.
I've posted a fix here that works perfectly in my private builds, but it's up to a dev to implement it in publically-accessible ROMs.
Try one of Darkman's recent creations.
The youtube app sucks. At work got fiber optic network that pushes 500 MBs and the buffering is horrible, can't even watch a simple 30 sec video without it stopping to buffer.
The easiest thing I did was. Side load the flashplayer apk, I then installed Boat Browser (Free in play store and I have been using that for a couple of yrs now). Once installed Open Boat Browser and select the menu button. In there chose Settings then Page Content Settings. I always change the SET USER AGENT to Firefox, then Enable flash/plug-ins to ALWAYS ON. Now you can go to youtube.com and actually watch a video in HD and not have the loading issue.
The youtube app is working fine for me. Plays 1080p HD video on the fly with no buffering. I using comcast xfinity high speed internet. I do have problems playing the youtube app on my PS3 though. But the app works great on my phone and note tablet.
EDIT:
I take that back, youtube seems to be slow. Not just on my phone and tablet apps but also on my computer desktop browser. Did research and everybody else is experiencing the same thing. After youtube update the way they stream and buffer video, it become slow for everybody! Apparently. Its not just the app though.
It's a hit or miss with me. There are days that it works fine and others where it's stuck buffering ever 10 seconds. Its not my connection because I got a 11 mbps down and 1.3 mbps up.

Nexus 10 Reboots When Using BBC iPlayer to Play Downloaded Videos

My Nexus 10 on 4.4.2 reboots when I use the BBC iPlayer to download 1-hour videos and then try to play them later.
This doesn't happen on my Note 3 on 4.3 and I wondered if anyone had the same problem on their Nexus 10.
I have exact same problem. The hack is when you resume playing quickly press the time bar and change where it is playing. You got to be quick.
However much better is away from Android is to use get-iplayer which makes an mp4 file which never expires and you can copy to anything. If you set modes=best you can download HD quality which is much better on the N10 screen then the highest def that the iPlayer app plays.
My recommended iPlayer download server is Raspberry Pi with Rasbian and a large USB drive. I then tend to streamnon the N10 online only content and pile up to watch offline the BBC files.

Thanks for your reply which shows I'm not the only one experiencing problems using the BBC iPlayer on the Nexus 10 running KitKat.
KitKat has been a disaster for me on the Nexus 10 with reboots using the BBC iPlayer and being re-directed to the Play store by websites resulting in more re-boots and overheating.

Those who work around problems are better than those who just suffer them. I can't use the camera on mine! Answer? Don't use the camera (use my N4 instead).
I went through all of 4.2.2, 4.3 and each 4.4 and the best is the most recent, it isn't perfect, but the least-worst.
Trust me, that N10 screen loves HD BBC via get-iplayer.
FYI Dolphin with the Flash hack will stream iplayer HD but the little icons you got during playback are very tricky to press due to the very high def N10 screen, so use get-iplayer it is stable and best approach. I use the iPlayer app only to stream and download but it takes a few practices to learn to press the timebar very quick, I'm in UK currently and doing it plenty of times.

Casting WatchESPN causes slow audio during commercials

Hi all,
I have a consistent bug while casting WatchESPN to my Nexus Player. I don't have this trouble when casting to my Chromecast, so there must be something specific with the NP.
At every commercial, the audio track will get very, very slow. The video stream will continue like normal, but the audio is slowed down to a crawl. Once the audio track is finished with that commercial, the speed will return to normal, but by that time the audio sync is way behind the video. The only fix for the problem is to stop casting and then recast. This fix will last until the next commercial.
As I said, casting to Chromecast does not have this bug.
Any thoughts?
I'm having the exact same problem. Annoying beyond belief.
The past few nights have been working fine but tonight it is back. It is happening every commercial.
This is dreadful. No idea what to do about it.
Seems like it only happens when watching the SEC Network?
I have the same issue. Casting WatchESPN to my NP results in slow audio ONLY when commercials start playing.
Only way around it is to manually seek to a different point in the stream
I haven't tried seeking to a different point in the stream. Is that available when watching live tv, or just previously recorded shows?
Tonight, it isn't causing audio problems, it is just causing cast receiver to crash. Trying to cast ESPN2.
Got a Xbox One for Christmas. The ESPN app does something similar. The audio doesn't get slow, but it gets off sync with the video. However, eventually the audio catches back up because the video feed will pause and restart when the audio catches up.
Exact same problem on my Nexus Player casting from Nexus 6P. Did you find a fix? I've tried reinstalling WatchESPN... no avail.
You can sideload the WatchESPN app directly on your Nexus Player and watch the live channels that way.

Yes, the WatchESPN app intended for phones works when sideloaded on the Nexus Player. The app also responds to the Nexus Player's remote so you can navigate through the menus and load channels.

Yup. It takes a few seconds for the app to detect your bandwidth so the stream starts in a lower resolution but it switches to HD shortly after that (as long as you have a decent Internet connection). WatchESPN v2.4.1 is the latest version so you can either pull a copy off your phone or search and download it from a web site.

Sweet thanks. Hopefully ESPN will eventually release a real Android TV version, but this should be a good work around for the time being.

I'm able to navigate but when I try to actually pay the center remote button to play an event, nothing happens. Air mouse select button works though. Working for you?

@bradwatson, once you open the app, you can use the remote to click on the LIST VIEW button on the LIVE row and select a channel from there. It's not easy to see which channel the cursor is on, however, so you'll need to count how many times you click down from the top of the live channels list.
