Yeah, how dare they improve upon the S6 drop test. Bastards
What glass does the note5 use anyway? I wasn't able to find it. Gorilla Glass 4?

Yes, gorilla glass 4 front and back.
The "glass" back feels like plastic to me. I don't get the point of glass if it feels like plastic.
Definitely feels like glass to me....
Yeah it does not feel like plastic at all, i have an LG G2 sitting right here and it has a plastic back and feels like it, the note5 is a solid glass back and feels much better.

As expected also that glass back looks cheap and not premium. But hey the Samsung sheep's will for sure find a way to defend even that lol.
1 year and 2 former flagships turned into absolute crap great job Samsung
What person would want a phone made of glass seems really dumb considering the average person drop there phone alot. They should have fun at samsung replacing phones this year. Most people won't use a case . You would think they would make phones more durable. My phone stay in Mint condition but most people i see don't baby there phones like i do and they look bad scratch city with no case from falls
The average person drops their phone a lot. That's funny... And probably not true.
Almost everyone I know uses no case, and their phone is fine. Why? Because they don't drop it a lot.
Now I do know 3 people under the age of 25 that all have cracked screens... Maybe it is an age thing?

Note 5 is iphone clone monopoly for increasing Samsung revenue for this quarter. seeing how they have to build hardware around software, we all know that sure as hell cant update the software after a new android sdk comes out.

Why did Samsung want to do a back glass? And a finger print magnet? I do not understand what is going on with Samsung as a company. Everything they do on the N5 is all wrong.

So I just wanted to share with you guys how I'm personally raping apple. The company I work for provides me with a free iPhone 3gs with unlimited everything. This was before I has my n1 so naturally I loved it and jailbroke it. Since I got.bored of the OS and got the n1 unlocked tmobile, I'm running at&t edge running on it. The phone still runs great and the internet is still very quick for edge, but I wanted it faster. So I'm using my iPhone as a wifi hotspot in my pocket: ) so basically my iPhone caters to my n1 hhahaha. I know this is a pointless post but I thought it was worth sharing: )

Well, conventional wisdom is that Apple gets a slice of iPhone data usage on AT&T so you're still lining Apple's pockets.
If you want to put it to the man, destroy your iPhone on video and upload it.

Samsung is going to have a NINETY second spot during the superbowl!
A normal 30 second spot costs around 2-3 million bucks, and samsung is buying three of them! Whoa
The commercial is being directed by the Farrely brothers (There's something about mary, etc)

That's odd... people normally don't even notice how big the phone is when I'm talking on it... (possibly cos it's mostly hidden by my hands ).
People do, however, notice its size if I'm using it for other stuff like messaging or browsing...
OT: I'm really happy Samsung has been pushing this phone into the mainstream so much. It's an awesome device. And it'll be even greater with all the development support that comes from being a mainstream success.

Not a big fan of the commercial to be honest.
They sure didn't say much for a 90 second spot.
But I guess the whole point is to get people talking about the note, and then the Note will take it from there.
Is it this one?

Dont let a Samsung employee hear you calling it a stylus
I hope they do something outrageous about it like it having a dual personality, a phone and a tablet, and it falls in love with an iPhone and follow it across the country. Oh wait, they already did that.
EDIT: ARRGH, my post is too late.
GIANTS won! Yeaaaaaa
Thought it was great! Really makes people think about a bigger better option, the Note. No hard sell just fun and entertainment, better than the half time show. The next three ads will do the rest. Haven't met anyone yet that didn't want my Note.
I won't say the Giants won as much as they just got lucky.
Waste of 9 million bucks. Terrible Imo
From the giant: Galaxy Note
why what do employees refer to it as?
Wish the ad showed some of the features of note, rather than people screaming around
Was really hoping for a much better spot outta Samsung on this one. Thought their previous commercials were great. Although i will say, i had 3 friends text me saying they saw a commercial for my phone.

^^^ This. If I didn't know what the ad was for (and I hadn't been following the Note for months now) I would think it was just another Android handset with that pointy stylus thing that Steve Jobs said was bad. Not a single thing special about it. Didn't feel like 90 seconds; seemed like it was over and I was still waiting for some tangible "here's why this thing is awesome" moment(s). Oh well. As the Note has done elsewhere in the world, I'm sure it'll sell itself on the merits as people start using them.
The add was lame. I was sold on the specs alone before the thing was ever announced (just rumored) ... Of course we have to remember, most people aren't nerds like us...
The downside to it's success is that, unlike the Dell Streak I'm writing this on, I wont be the only person I know who has one! When I whip out the Streak I always realize that no one has ever seen a phone like this. That is about to end...
The upside is of course that the development from this community, and the updates from Samsung should be great.

Hi,..guys,.
I was just wiping my phone with microfiber cloth and to my sharp eyes...just above the power button...I stumble upon an object that is stuck between the bezel or the bezel it self has a flaw?. it measures about 0.5cm straight vertical line. I tried to take it out with a paper ...it's the only object that is thinner to pass thru the side of the bezel...but the object wont budge. or maybe it was the plastic bezel it self. Can I return this phone? And get a replacement?
Pretty sure that Google wouldn't replace the phone as its physical damage and it isn't necessarily defective by any means. Just get a case and cover it.

I think it's a manufacturer's flaw....that object wound't be there so deep...at first place. or maybe it's the plastic bezel it self. Well I payed for a phone that doesn't come with a flaw right? So that's my justification.

I don't know what it is or how it got there. You're best thing to do is to ask them to see what they would do for you. You didn't notice it until just recently it could of due to user fault. The bezel affects absolutely nothing on the phone and is a cosmetic problem.
Like again, just contact them and see what they can do. No body here can say otherwise

Temporary charge so they assure you that you send your device back otherwise you'd be charged with two of them. You'll get your money back.
I don't understand why you make such a big deal about it and then you're worried about a TEMPORARY charge? It's there so you don't keep two N4s.
For units that have been damaged after delivery, you may be charged an additional restocking fee of either 25% or 50% of the original purchase price based on the severity of damage. If we receive a return which has been damaged beyond repair, we may return the item to you without issuing a refund.

Well I won't tell them that I got it that way, but I do believe I have a problem with my battery so I'll ask for an exchange.

I live in London and going through parts with poor people in them is a given. :crying:
It's not mud, it's some jackass spilling his drink and you putting your phone in the place an hour later.

Ahhh, okay i can imagine it may help masking your phone a little so it won't have a "please steal me, Sir!" tag on it And i've also had the occasional "this looks like a clean spot.... aaaaaand it's not", but i like living on the edge, one bar at a time :silly:

I dont know if this is the first "gate" fiasco for this phone but it definitely sounds like the glue is coming undone! Worst part is that I just pulled the phone out of the box. Everybody better check their screens. Im calling it Glue-gate

Honestly just fire it up, play some games for a few hours, let the glue heat up.. see if that helps

Its gotten worse with me using it and it getting warm. It didn't do this when I first took it out of the box. I've had it out of the box for about 2 hours and now the sound gets longer and longer. Like more areas of the screen are coming undone.

Looks like you'll be making a trip to the store on Friday. GL man. This is truly sad to hear.

I don't think one bad phone is sufficient for a "gate" name.

It's inevitable with all devices, don't think there's ever been a product launched that didn't have a few bad apples in the bunch. It sucks for sure to be "that guy", but you'll have a new one in hand pretty damn quick...

Oh I know, this isn't the first time and I'm not whining about it too much. Only bad thing is that tmobile is trying to make me send the phone back first. I'm like heck no!

Kind of true and kind of false. Some of these stores are 3rd party retailers. They have their own inventory and at times have their own promotions. For example the one near my house smells and looks like T-Mobile, but it's owned and operated by a different company.

OK so I had to call like 3-4 times in order to get them to ship me a new one before I send mine back. But it'll be here on Monday. I will say that the screen scratches really easily... I only put it in an empty pocket once and only for like 2 minutes! It's got two fine scratches on the screen already. To all of y'all who plan on going without a screen protector, good luck! You are definitely going to need it
Haha I've always wanted to be the first out of the gate, but I'll let you have this one.

I've heard this from more than one source, it seems like the GG5 is less prone to breaks, but more prone to scratches. On a hardness scale I seen it got scratched at 3 and the S7 edge was like a 7 or 8. Mine is sitting in the box til I get my Xtremeguard and either The Spigen I paid for, or the promos Rinke sent me to review.
