So I already tried reading most of the threads about this problem but sadly I wasn't able to find the answer to my problem. I just recently reformatted my computer and thought that I want to return to stock ROM for now. But when I entered download mode and plugged the cable in, Odin cannot detect the phone.
I got frustrated after trying so I restarted my phone without disconnecting the cable. When the phone booted up normally, Odin was able to detect the phone, so I tried download mode again, nothing, now I tried recovery mode, detected.
I already tried:
- Installing Kies
- Installing just the drivers
- Trying debug on/off
Also, I've been having problems with "Samsung Mobile USB Modem" "An error occurred during the installation of the device. The required section was not found in the INF." Could this be the cause of the first problem?
Yes I just made this account to ask you guys this.
try new version odin search at caliban666 thread,if im not wrong he post a new version of odin.try installing a new samsung driver at dokys thread.i hope this will help u...
Try installing the drivers again..
If possible download them again..
**rooting is new for me...and i am noob to root...**
So only the download mode that isn't detected by odin? I have the same problem before. Here, when you go into download mode but odin doesn't detect your phone, press the power button until your phone turns black and don't let it to reboot. If your phone already turns black then go into download mode again (volume down+power+home). Odin should detect it.
For your 2nd problem, here you can download the samsung usb driver pack, I also experienced that after installing kies then "an error occured blabla". Driver here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11498043

No luck.
I just tried the new Odin and installed the new Samsung drivers.
It's still the same for both problems.
- can't detect phone in download mode but it can detect the phone in normal and recovery mode.
- samsung mobile USB modem error still persists

Can a member who can use Odin with their GT-S5360 connect the 5360 in "Download Mode" to their PC, open Windows Device Manager and copy / paste the Device Instance ID shown under:
+Universal Serial Bus controllers
...Composite Device
by right-clicking it, choose Properties, then Details?
On my PC, it is shown as 'Unkown Device' with the following Device Instance ID:
USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\5&2E64F456&0&1
Which is most likely not what it should be.
I want to know what it should be.
I have two Galaxy Y's (one soft-bricked, the other working fine) and both show the same ID.
BTW, I have tried every port on the back of my PC with four Samsung data cables and three third-party cables and I cannot get Windows or Odin to recognize the GT-S5360 in download mode (both phones).
I have downloaded and installed / uninstalled / rebooted, etc. with the following versions of Samsung USB Driver for Mobile Phones:
1.3.1500
1.4.8
1.5.9
1.5.15
1.5.23
1.5.33
I have downloaded but cannot install version:
1.5.49
MCC InstallWizard says it "could not" install the drivers but no error message or log is given.
And for some reason, the "have disk" method of installing the drivers doesn't work either.
My PC is running XP SP3 x86, offline.
I download all files to my working phone, and transfer them to the PC.
One last thing, can someone who has USB driver version 1.5.49 installed, open Windows Services and check to see if the Samsung Connection service has started and is running?

Just reinstall your operating system of pc and install the drivers again. Everything will be fine.
Else try connecting it to another computer. It will WORK for 100^(1000000)%.
Hope it was helpful.

Right, I have installed it now, I am using a different computer as well.
I have run into another problem now. It gets to about 15% on the phone update window and then says connect phone to usb cable.

know how to fix this?
Thanks

I downloaded the tool from the LG website but it just hangs on installation.
Is there no one that has seen my connection issue before?
My original problem stems from a wrong kdz being installed previously, I have a 32GB phone that reports 16GB.
I have but different situation
I tried various, reinstalling drivers, reboot computer. reboot phone in recovery if it still works, wipe system data cache dalvik, shutdown. connect to computer press volume up. see download mode. open tool and try again.
if that doesnt work, some other guys reported changing port number somewhere.

hello,
I have recently been playing with roms and stuff on my n4. (did it on other devices, and never had any problem i couldnt fix)
but right now I kinda screwed up so bad, that I need some help.
I kinda wiped all the data on my phone from the cwm recovery.
and I'm stuck with this situation:
I can boot to bootloader + recovery
I can't boot to any rom (because there is none)
I can't connect to any pc because they won't recognize he's there (forever alone... ) (and yes i've tried all kinds of drivers)
I can't connect with adb because I can't turn on usb debugging mode.
So right now I'm stuck
I've come to the conclusion that i probably need to use fastboot fix this, but like I said before, no computer will recognize my n4. (not showing up in device manager)
also tried about 6 different usb cables - no luck
different computers ( ubuntu - mac - windows) - no luck
So is there any smart guy out there who can help me?
greetings, Julian

Google 15 second adb drivers xda. You probably need to get adb and fastboot setup for the pc to recognize your device. In order to fix it you'll meet to use fastboot or adb commands

You need to delete all your driver files from your pc and start over.
There is no reason for you to not be able to connect via fastboot.
Find a clean win7 machine and start over, installing the fastboot drivers before connecting your phone.

Hi both
I've tried installing the drivers but whilst the drivers claim to have installed correctly, my phone is still not recognised by my computer in Device manager. I've tried uninstalling all previous drivers before trying this.
Before we go on - should I be trying to connect my phone to the computer when turned off, in bootloader or in recovery?

Hi
Is fastboot essentially bootloader? I've tried in the initial bootloader menu and I've tried having clicked 'start' from the bootloader.
In the bootloader it tells me fastboot is enabled, btw.

When you're in the bootloader you can run fastboot commands. With your device plugged into the pc, from a command prompt opened on the same folder as fastboot.exe, run the command fastboot devices. Does fastboot return your device info? If so you're good to go running fastboot and flashing a factory image

Brief update - I think. My computer began installing the drivers again, but told me the device suddenly 'disconnected'. I think it's a hardware issue and that the port isn't seated properly. I'm going to replace the USB port and see if that helps.

Did you do a clean install?
Have you used a different USB cable? Some cables are charging-only, with no indication otherwise. Internally damaged cables can also turn into charging only cables. Ironically, I just replaced one hooked into my daughter's phone today that would only charge intermittently.
There is no reason that wiping partitions in recovery would prevent your phone from being recognized by your PC at all.
Try a clean install of the drivers on a fresh pc with a different cable.

This is typical when you connected the phone to the PC before installing the drivers. Windows will sometimes install a generic driver when you hook up the phone, preventing it from detecting the need for adb and fastboot drivers

I tried uninstalling all drivers, including in USBDeview before running 15 second drivers then trying to connect my phone in fastboot/bootloader mode, with various cables and various ports. Nothing happened!
I've bought another USB cable which should be arriving soon. I've also bought a new charging/USB port to replace that inside the phone.
If it Works with that cable please give me a headsup

Well, I had similar issues when I bought this phone (coming from a HTC one s) connecting to fastboot.
What I did was:
Delete all drivers related to adb/fastboot/android (use a software to completely clean the files).
Booted my phone into fastboot mode.
Connect to PC and wait for windows to show the new hardware dialog.
Install the correct drivers (which i had downloaded and extracted) using the dialog box.
Profit.

A brief update
I remembered I have a second Android phone knocking around. I plugged this in with one of the cables from earlier - perfect installation with all drivers, etc. This has further convinced me that the hardware of the USB port on the phone is the issue.
Thanks for all help - I'll update again if the hardware change works, or doesn't.
ok, ive installed a new windows and installed all the drivers and then i connected the phone.
Nothing.

Hi Guys,
When updated my LG L5 E610v with LG Mobile support tool, it stucks in 'Download is in progress. Don not disconnect cable.
Tried a lot to fix this problem, no results.
I figured out that using adb, fastboot, PDAnet, LG suite, LG mobile support tool, kdz updater, a lot of different usb cables, button combinations, shake the phone, etc, my pc (and all software I used to connect) do not recognice my phone properly or not. For example: using adb, i get: device not found, etc.
I installed the right lg usb driver properly and see on device manager 'Modem' and 'usb device' installed. Seems to me, no proble at all !!!
Who wants to help me to figured out this problem ??? To say this, I am a noob with this problem.
Thx in advanced,

you need to download the correct frameware for your phone. And install kdz correctly. If your using a windows pc go to advance settings and under modem disable lg mobile mode and restart your pc.
If you installed kdz correctly on your pc, open in the kdz file run windows enabler if your using windows.
On your phone remove your battery, plug your usb to your phone holding volume-
You should be in download mode. If your not in download mode, unplug usb cable.
Hold vol+ and vol- at the same time. Once your connected and your phone is showing download mode run kdz. If it fails the first tine just restart kdz or unplug your phone and re connect it.

Power the phone off completely(hold the power button for arround 30 seconds),and then connect it to the PC.
But,before you do that, make sure you have the LG USB drivers for the G2,and adb fastboot drivers installed.
Then, take a screenshot of the Device Manager(you can use "Snipping Tool").
The problem is in the device not the pc because i've already flashed another g2 using that pc normaly

Unknown device because you probably do not have the drivers installed.
Just because you flashed things to your phone over the download mode, doesn´t mean you have the adb/fastboot drivers too.
I suggest,if possible, you get the LG USB drivers for the g2 and the universal adb/fastboot drivers, and install them to another PC with Windows, and then connect the powered-off phone NORMALLY,not in download mode, let the pc install drivers, and then tell me what the Device Manager says.

I'm having similar problem. No download mode. When I connect my lg g2 to my PC (windows 10) I see nothing in Device Manager. If I plug in my lg g3 (working fine) I get "portable mtp device".

Oh darn... I guess this is above me.
I wonder how a wave of that kind of a problem started occurring during these 3 weeks.
There is a " Back to Stock" thread, both of you could ask for help there. I asked for help there too, during all 4 times I bricked my phone. .______.
