Is anybody else having issues with the touchwiz not refreshing after the upgrade to lollipop (GT-I9505)?
Since upgrading my widgets don't update/refresh after a while. Only after manually killing the touchwiz it starts updating the widgets again. But then after a while they freeze again.
I'm reading a lot about error messages and crashes after the upgrade, but that's not the case. It's just that all the widgets freeze.
Anybody recognize this? Maybe know a solution?

Downloaded the OTA Gingerbread update this morning and everything seemed to be working flawlessly with no force closes. However, after a few hours at work I started to get some freezing, lag, and force close messages whenever a text message comes through using Go SMS Pro.
I uinstalled GSP thinking that was the cause and re-downloaded handcent. That app was also giving me problems. I'm beginning to think that 3rd party sms apps aren't playing well together with Gingerbread.
Can anybody else test this out on their phones after downloading GB and see if they're having problems? I'd greatly appreciate any feedback. I'm hoping i'm not the only one with this issue. Thank you in advance.
I know I saw various posts regarding the Launcher force closing before the 3.1 update.
After the update, I continue to get force closes on the launcher and various applications. For the most part, I only run Honeycomb designed apps with a couple of exceptions.
Anyone else continuing to have the Launcher force close after the 3.1 update? Thanks.

Me too -- just FCs randomly as best I can tell. I run lots of widgets, though. Beautiful widgets, email and gmail, wizz widgets, 360 news, music, etc. Mostly just a minor annoyance, but I'd love to get it cleared up. I've run fix permissions multiple times. Running Prime1.5 and clemsyn-blades v16.
I used to get those FC's often on the launcher and almost any app I used when I was on 3.01, but since installing 3.1 I have never got it on the launcher anymore and only seen it on a couple apps that weren't completely compatible with the TF so it seemed to fix it.
Is the problem in the lockscreen?
I installed Flyscreen after reading about it in another thread -- it adds widgets to a Honeycomb look-alike lock screen. Since it's really just an app, I was still getting the official lock screen after unlocking Flyscreen, so I went into settings -> location & security -> configure lock screen ... and set it to "off".
Suddenly, I'm not getting the launcher force closes anymore. It's only been about 12 hours (including overnight) - but I was getting a couple of closes per hour before. The lock screen settings change is the only thing I've done in/around the time that things settled down. I'm hopeful that this somehow did it.
I'm guessing that Flyscreen isn't necessary -- just changing the lockscreen settings. Maybe you could even turn them back on and not get closures? I'm happy to leave well enough alone on my tablet, but maybe this will help someone else.
** by the way - I'm running Prime1.5 with Clemsyn-BladesOC#16. But I've had the FC issue as long as I can remember, even with Primordial and stock kernels (I rooted right after getting my TF).
I installed aviate and was sporting the for a while but I ended up uninstalling it and going back to touchwiz. Ever since I did that touchwiz has been crashing seemingly random.
I also unistalled mymagazine and I restored it thinking it would fix the problem for what ever reason but when I reinstall it it doesn't show up when I swipe up.
So any ideas on how to sort this out would be appreciated thanks
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem or knows of a fix:
At random times with no intervention, the application info page appears for a (random) app with the force stop dialog in front of it asking me if I want to force stop an app. If I hit cancel it does the same thing again for a different app. It goes through many different apps in an apparently random order and then stops (also for no apparent reason). My phone is unrooted running stock ROM. I have tried many things including clearing the System and App caches changing launcher (I normally use Nova launcher) removing memory card but nothing seems to help.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for your help,
Jonathan
Did you use package disabler?
Yes I have package disabler installed. It doesn't seem to make much difference whether all apps are enabled not.
Things were going great the last few days on Android P until this morning. All of a sudden, post a few playstore app updates, the OS became unusable. Google Services (this apk possibly got an OTA update) kept stopping in a loop and all apps started closing....which ended up blocking me from using the phone (couldn't access settings etc. and was too lazy to adb into the device to troubleshoot). Ended up rolling back to oreo. Anyone else faced this?
More information please, where you rooted, custom kernel.ect
I was getting fc'z like crazy yesterday after a fresh install, what I ended up havingto do was a factory reset in twrp and have had none since.
No root, no custom kernel/recovery. Just pure Google provided images and apps from play store

no such issues here (yet).
clean install, no root.
Clean install of Android P with Magisk 16.1 last night. No issues so far but I'm not even 24 hours in. I do know that the Android P dev notes from Google report that the system can get extremely unstable over time. So the OPs issues make sense.
The way I'm looking at it is if my phone runs perfectly on Android P for 5-6 days before starting to hiccup, then I have no problem quickly reflashing Android P without wiping data every 5-6 days since it takes like 30 seconds and doesn't force me to re-download or re-setup any apps. To me, this would be worth it in order to run an otherwise stable version of Android that most other phones won't get until this time next year.
But, if I only make it 48-72 hours before the phone starts really acting up, I'll probably go back to 8.1 until the next iteration of Android P dev preview is released.
Clean flashed P the day it dropped, flashed magisk and flash when both were updated to support them. Only minor crashes every other day or so.
Playstore has a "huge" bug.Did you have beta apps (like WhatsApp,play services etc)? When you go to the tab "Beta" and try to hit on an application, playstore closes without fc message.
Clean install, no root. Widgets disappear randomly once or twice a day.

Stock launcher or a differnt launcher? I've been using Nova Prime since installing Android P 2 days ago and haven't had any issues with widgets disappearing or malfunctioning.

Stock Launcher. Might have to switch to NOVA. This is getting annoying.
