Is there a way to get my Harmony Remote to control the Nexus Player? It would be advantageous to use it instead of the stock remote since my entire setup works with it. Tia.

Unless the Harmony One has built in bluetooth support, the only way you will be able to get it to work is through FLIRC. FLIRC usually goes on sale for about ~$15 once or twice a month.
I have so many add-one to this device it looks like an octopus!

Hi
it depends on your harmony Version.
i have one with an harmony hub.
I was able to pair the hub via Bluetooth with a fireTV-Stick, which also has no irda.
No hub just the remote and dock.

I have the Harmony Ultimate with the hub and it controls my Nexus Player fine.

Ok I got that Flirc. It is plugged into the NP USB powered hub. But I can't find the way to setup on the Nexus Player. Can you assist?

You actually need to plug it up to the PC first & download the software for FLIRC

Follow the guide on this post #3:

Yea I realized that after I posted. I thought I was able to do it via android but just plugged it in. Very simple.

Hello
I have made a tutorial on how to play games on any android device using a PS3 controller via bluetooth... I have demonstrated this on my Galaxy Note.
I have shown how to configure it with various emulators (PS one and SNES)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMDSOr9WoZ4
Also added an app to help you find ROMS easily.
Hope you find this useful
Please let me know if anything is unclear or if you have any queries feel free to pm me, will get back to you as quick as possible

Do the analog sticks work? Specifically, are the analog sticks emulated as analog, or just digital (full on/full off) key presses, with no gradient?

Hi
@ ashwin123
How do you get the ps3 controller to work on your galaxa Note ?
I tried it ever and ever again with different Versions of Firmware , Different versions of the Sixaxis Controller App and also with different ps3 Bluetooth
Controller, but i don´t get a Connection between my Galaxy Note and the
ps3 controller
At the Moment my phone comes with stock firmware kl7 and i use Sixaxis
Controller App Version 0.3.9
The Ps3 Sixaxis Controller is Original from Sony.
The Galaxy Note is of course rooted.
I didn´t get this to work.
It makes me crazy
I paired the controller with the pairing tool.
then starting the sixaxis app,but the 4 lights on the controller were still blinking
and then they turns off. No Connection
Which firmware and wich version of sixaxis Controller app do you use ?
greetings from Germany
Turn off bluetooth on your phone first.
Then open sixaxis controller
Then connect controller to pc
Download sixaxis pc software
Change the code to whats found on the sixaxis app on the note
Now hit start on the app
The first player light should come on
Change input to sixaxis.
You should be good to go.
If anything is unclear please watch my tutorial video once more...
If the issue still persists contact manufacturer... (lol Ive always wanted to say that... juz kidding if you still cant connect it come back and leave a post explaining where exactly do things go wrong)
Dont you worry, we will get your controller paired up soon

Good news and bad news...
Good News... it can be done and its simple
Bad News... You need a receiver from microsoft, the one you get to connect the controller to pc... then you can connect it to the usb port (in case the galaxy note theres no USB port so connect a usb host adapter to the micro usb post and then the receiver to that)
Android should handle the rest.
This should work in theory and I have seen it work on honeycomb... not a 100% sure on gingerbread
COST:
USB Receiver $20 (approx.) (Amazon)
USB Host adapter $1-3(approx.) (Ebay)

Was just wondering if anyone had tried the OnLive Android client on this? It's obviously not officially supported yet, but there is a fair chance that it will work.
Thanks.

Thanks, was just thinking that I hadn't seen anyone run it on JB, and there may be some compatibility issue there.
Would still like to see if someone can actually get it running. I am tempted to pick up one of the universal controllers if I am sure it works well with this.
im getting onlive for sure! i just need to find a good controller for my tegra hd games.
Thought I'd bump this existing thread since the N7's are in a lot of people's hands now. Has anyone had a chance to try the controller yet?
I'm interested in getting a controller for my N7 and until the Nyko Android PlayPads are released. Thought this might be the best way to go in the meantime.
Cheers,
Kermee
I have just sold a brand new controller on eBay as I had two sent and they didn't want it back ?!? Very accommodating are on live ... lol
Have not used my on live yet but the N7 run games (in app) amazingly well.
I think On live will work just as good

I had previously bought an official receiver so that I could use my wireless Xbox controller to play games on my Windows PC.
Now I just plug the receiver into a USB OTG cable connected to my N7. Just tap the button on the receiver and the connect button on the controller, and job done. You can use the Xbox controller to navigate and play games.
Thanks for that information I'm waiting on my cable and ill try my wired xbox control I've already got the patched apk installed

OnLive and the official universal controller works great.
I recently found my old Motorola rz100 remote that I used to use with my Xoom. It had a track pad and buttons so I could control my Xoom and see a mouse pointer. I recently tried to pair it to my nexus 10 with no avail. I tried hooking it to my DNA and note 2 and it also wouldn't work. It does hook to my RAZR HD and has full mouse capability and works 100 percent so it must have something to do with moto software. My question is, I'd like to do presentations on my nexus hooked to a TV, and I'd like to be able to use a track pad remote. I wanted to use my phone but so far only tablet remote in the app store works to get it connected, but with no mouse like capability. Since I'd like to have mouse like control, can anyone suggest either an app or hardware that they have used to help me? Thanks!

I don't know about software for your tablet, but if you say you wanna make a presentation on your nexus hooked to a tv, if your tv has smart tv, then it probably (mine does) recognize your mobile and it can act like a mouse cursor (lg for example has lg remote control in the market, samsung also i think).
I'm using different tvs all the time. So I'll need something to work in a variety of situations. Thanks for the reply though.

Hey there guys,
Just a quick one in case anyone doesn't know, but when setting up a remote on the TV app, on cable box, if you scroll down to Microsoft and use that option, it allows you to use your TV remote to control your Xbox!

That's cool. Is it better than Smartglass?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Smart glass connects through WiFi and has deep integration in the Xbox. This simply allows you to power on/off your Xbox, navigate around and select stuff in Netflix etc. Perfect for me as I have an Xbox and tv in the bedroom which is mainly used for dvds and Netflix.
smartglass is different and has many more features, but having one remote to turn your tv and Xbox on is amazing.

It's something my dealer put in as an aftermarket navigation unit. It's a Chinese unit that's distributed in North America by "Rosen Electronics". Model number is DS-HY1120-P11, special-fit for 2011-2013 Hyundai Sonatas.
That being said, any head unit with an AUX-in will work.

Using openelec?
Same setup used pretty much here but without inverter.
Soon will add in a 2.5" HD to store some media without needing to connect to home media server.
Previous experience is that the HD generates noise, classic alternator whine.

No, using RaspBMC at the moment. I like OpenELEC but you can't launch a web browser with it, so I went with RaspBMC and the Advanced Launcher trick to get Chrome working. I've got the wifi dongle in the Pi and I just turn on my wifi hotspot on my cellphone and voila - internet browsing in the car
I've also got an NFC tag in the car that my phone scans (with the screen off, thanks to the Xposed hack on Android) which turns my Bluetooth and Wifi Hotspot on when I enter the car, and off when I exit.
That's pretty cool the nfc!
Only use openelec so its easier to store user data on usb. Help with updates and not rebuilding library.
Great through a stereo! Sub woofer, gun shots lol
15 years ago had an mini crt screen and installed that in car, then the n64 got added . Multiplayer goldeneye, bong mix lol. Those were the days

How do you deal with the engine startup?
does the USB Hub have some kind of safety feature that helps protect against overcharging, or does the inverter help there?
if so, do you have a link to that inverter? looking to do samt mod, but haven't found a safety feature to prevent overcharge during engine startup.
So you use the screen of the car to display stuff from your rasp pi? And you have a sonata? What's the screen resolution?
