It's mid august and still no news about ara!! Is it for sure coming out at the end of the month? And is it possible to buy one on eBay?

Well they did announce yesterday that it won't be launching in Puerto Rico, they are just recalculating their "strategy". That's great news and all but I think they are just trying to buy some time....
I saw this http://www.yezzara.com and I see that yezza that are making the modules for ara, are already saying project ara is here and asking how will you build it....
Anyone with any thoughts?

Ok, I have been an official owner of this masterpiece since January 6, 2010.. Lol, Stayed up partying that Sunday night.. Never went to sleep.. Sobered right up when I saw the Press release.. Bought it 5 Minutes after the site finally came up after refreshing every 15 seconds.. Whew..
Now, here I stand.. Ready to embark back home to VZW and I have about 5 months left of my account being put on hold.. So no rush.. But.. i see the HTC Desire is coming.. I know I already run A10 from Modaco but I kinda Like the Hardware not for nothing.. So, can Nexus Roms be back-ported to this device since we initially ported it over to us.. In so, is it coming to VZW along with att/t-mobile, Any word.. I know the Legend is going to Sprint, Which i am getting for my Father in law, I last got him a Tour..
I am also seeing that the Nexus comes out for Verizon March 23rd, a pretty solid Google Employee spilled the beans.. So another option could be to Continue to Sell this Nexus and transfer to that.. Then load Modacos Sense Ui CDMA Rom (When Available)... So I guess I ask if Devs, PPL, Gurus, can help here.. I gather and prob 90% assure myself i'm not the Only one in for this... So I guess Keep the thread alive.. Maybe it'll stay here with ideas, workarounds, additions, dev requests with links and etc.. Hopefully until and while these FUTURE devices arrive..
Thanks Guys.
Hope You Guys Liked My Vids... Gonna Make More when More Desire Updates arrive..
I think my head exploded trying to understand what your question was lol

Gotta give us something better than just a post.......saw so many of these.....
Confirmed!!
VIA Sprints Twitter --> Android users: We hear you re: 2.1 update; still on track for early Q2. Details as soon as avail. Many thanks for your continued patience.
I spoke to an official sprint employee unofficially about all of the unofficial sprint rumors about the offiicial update..
This sprint official, said that officially, he can't say officially when the official sprint update will begin to roll out.
However, he did say that unofficially, we will all know when the official sprint update is being rolled out. This will be the time when the official sprint words comes from the top sprint officials and is posted offiically by sprint.
He did say that offiically, any unofficial sprint rumor should not be relied on to be an official sprint update date. But unofficial sprint rumors may become official, only when officially made offiicial on their official update date.

How about Fresh Kitchen support for 2.1, Rom cooking? Otherwise I have nothing haha. These custom roms are great
It's training for the EVO as well, not just the 2.1 for the hero
A few of my friends work for Sprint and I asked them about the 2.1 update. Their response was "Dude it's my day off"

No its not... It's specifically for the 2.1 update.. To educate sales people of the selling points and cool features of the 2.1 update and how it is different from 1.5....
And I don't see why you guys think that its crazy to provide training to people that might not have the Android experience that you do, to give them tools to be able to effectively talk about the phone... What would you do if you went into a Sprint store and nobody knew what you were talking about when you said "2.1" or "android" or "market"...
If they don't train employees, how is Granny gonna figure out her new Hero, etc..
And as much as you think most people have at least a basic understanding of any of the variables that go into purchasing a phone, 75% have no idea..
I see it everyday, because I deal with those customers everyday...

Not to go way off topic here but Best Buy trains their employees too, I was at the register yesterday and did a price match from an ad online on my Hero browser and the cashier was a 70 year old grandma and she was swiping and knew how to work the Hero! She said something pretty funny to me also, "I would love one of those phones but they don't pay us enough!!!" LMAO! her manager was right there doing the price over-ride... Too funny. I was amazed that she knew how to use it, my granny still used an abacus!
Got this from Andronica...sorry won't let me post a link.
HTC releases Android 2.2 source code for EVO 4G, Incredible, Aria, and Wildfire — geeks rejoice
August 11, 2010 | by Chris Smith
Android OS, HTC, News
Modders and ROM developers are about to bury themselves in source code today and will chug six packs of Red Bull to stay up late into the night hacking away. HTC has released their valuable Android 2.2 source code for the EVO 4G, DROID Incredible, Aria, and Wildfire today allowing programmers and enthusiasts to get their hands dirty with code.
This is a pretty standard thing, as the Android operating system is open source and anything developed in conjunction with it has to be made available to the public. What’s funny about this release of code is that HTC has basically preempted all carriers except for Sprint as the Aria, Incredible, and Wildfire have yet to see the “official” release of Android 2.2. This confirms that it is the carriers that have slowed down the upgrade process on their devices making options like rooting and modding so popular. Even with the slow down, this release shows that the carriers are getting ready for the “official” releases.
The release of the Android 2.2 source for HTC devices is going to prove to be an awesome edition to what modders have already gained from earlier ROM leaks. So, keep your eyes out for some new ROMs over at xda-developers and other modding sites as it is about to get crazy out there!
That is VERY good news.
This is incredible (no pun intended)! Now if we only had the official 2.2...
So now we are waiting on Verizon they say? I guess they want to sell as many Droid 2's as possible before they upgrade the other phones. It's all about the buck for them as we all know. How could they possibly make money off of a free upgrade? They're laying awake at night thinking of this shi*

This is good news indeed. Shame on Verizon for holding out for so long!
They're busy adding their verizon bloatware to it which we will spend hours removing and tweaking to perfection.
This is for the kernel and bluez only? Or am I missing something here?
what is bluez? im guessing something about bluetooth.. wii remove or something?

Drives me nuts it's that way for anything and everything now days. Face it tomorrow will always bring a bigger, faster, cleaner "rig". Then again everyday I think at this rate what will I have to chose from in 2 years, and give an evil chuckle.
Sad news for an amazing phone
https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c
Yeah just posted that on the ICS thread.
Never buying an Moto ever again.
Still hoping that they do release SOMETHING for the Euro model which can be ported though.
Wow... just wow. What the **** happened to this being a flagship phone? Delays, yes, those were to be expected with their track record but... methinks I'll be going out of my way to tell people to avoid this sorry excuse for a company.
Being stuck with it until March (not everyone has the luxary of upgrading whenever they feel like it), I really hope our devs pull through and get CM9/10 in better shape.
This is wery bad, we are ****ed up. Soon I sale my Moto, buy S3, and newer deal with Moto again. So sad I love Moto before, now I hate they.

Hey guys. I am rooted and currently running the 6.0.1 Asia release image. Just wondering if anyone knows why there's been such a delay in getting the OTA for the US variant? I've really enjoyed using the Moto X and with the Moto Credit i opened it would have been easy for me to justify upgrading to the 2016 version when it is announced. But being as OCD as i am about timely OS updates, going back to the nexus line is looking like a better option as the days go by. I get that 6.0.1 is just an incremental update, but that makes me wonder even more why it hasn't been rolled out. I'm hoping that this just means we'll receive Android N as quickly as possible, but i wont hold my breath. Thoughts?

Moto X Pure edition says goodbye - RIP. The 3rd paragraph in this article reads: "well, according to renowned leak artists Evan Blas's, the Moto X line up is no more. His tweet in the matter simply read "goodbye, moto X. details tomorrow. Which could mean a lot of things, but it's the goodbye part that is the most scary.
I hope they still plan on supporting this phone, not going to hold my breath.

Just because they're discontinuing one line and starting another is no reason to stop updating the previous line. The device is not even one year old. It'd be a terrible (and BS) decision to just drop support for it like it never happened. Especially with them discounting the device so much lately, they'd have a lot of new pissed off users on their hands.
Thinking on it, I honestly think the release of 6.0.1 to a limited number of handsets may specifically be targeted to see what problems will arise. Not the first time a manufacturer has done this. But informing customers would be a good move when doing this.

Wow, Moto does it once, while Samsung has changed theirs 7 times (first was the 1, then 2 then 3 ...... now 7!!!) Must be a VERY slow news day, and he needed something to post.
The life of a report must be VERY hard.
