You obviously haven't searched hard in the G2 Original Android Development forum... Or in all other development forums according to your G2 version (international, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc...).
Currently, the Rom? Knock code can run well for G2 without having to open up the screen on..thank:victory:
I wish there was one like that for G2 Rom

Correcting, Ubuntu Touch.
It relies on KitKat device files, and we don't have them, so I don't think that this will happen.
