You can't put an international ROM on the G900V. Different hardware for the phones. You will brick your G900V.

Hey everyone,
I was wondering is there a stock touchwiz rom out there I can flash on my sm-g900w8 (canadian variant) The only roms I see are for the sg-g00f. Am I following this all correctly or missing something?
Thanks!

Not officially, no. You can however try ROMs intended for the G900F as both phones have same hardware afaik. Ofcourse make a nandroid backup first and then go try out AllianceROM (best ROM ever)

Will do! Thanks for the response!
I noticed the lollipop update is now available for the note 3. However I still want to keep root. I searched google and found this guide, but I'm not sure if its legit or works.

Not sure, but did you see Hsbadr post in android dev...it's a rooted stock lollipop rom
Pay close attention...that is for the N900 International N3 that does not have a locked bootloader.

It's not the international N3, as those are modeled "N900n" where n is a number. The N900 is a SIM unlocked US variant that works on GSM only carriers. (All US variants are N900(x) where x is a letter representing the carrier. No Carrier leaves x blank.)
*EDIT*
Just to reiterate, this won't work on the N900V
The point is it does not work for Verizon or Att with locked bootloaders.

If I understand correctly there is currently no way to install Janine ROM of you are already on lollipop right? I just bought a used note three but haven't gotten it yet to see which firmware is on it. In coming from a g2 where there were plenty of ways to root

If you're already on lollipop than you cannot root or flash any roms. You need to be on either 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 already rooted with safe strap installed to install the rooted stock rom
Oh so jasmine ROM is basically stock 5.0 with root? So basically I just need to flash his ROM and I'm good to go? I'm running 4.4.2 and have safestrap installed

Hi!
I just bought a Samsung S5 SM-G900A (AT&T) with no contract. I use it in Argentina where there´s not even AT&T service. My cellphone company is Personal.
Anyway, I come from a Moto x 2013 and I find this S5 is slower than my previous phone. Before starting with custom roms, I´d like to try installing from Sammobile a clean stock kitkat or lollipop. When I say clean I mean no carriers apps or so. May I do this with no root? Is there any risk?
Thanks!

You cant go down to kitkat if youre lollipop, if you arent you still can only flash firmware(via odin) for the g900a, which will have bloat, if you root you can flash some roms that have little to no bloat, only touchwiz based though, no cyanogen/aosp/aokp/etc, locked bootloader prevents it.

I'm on KitKat 4.4.2 . For some reason i am not getting the OTA firmware update. Could it be because I'm outside eeuu? Is it worth switching to lollipop?
What do you mean by bloat? Tks

Bloat as in preincluded apps. Theres an ota file in att s5 general that you can use to update through stock recovery, the thread has a download and instructions.

Can't I just flash an at&t free lollipop through odin?
I remember doing that with my samsung s3 getting the stock firmwares from sammobile. I would just pick a polish free one (no at&t or other brand), which are usually the first to see the light.

Nope, flashing a firmware from an international(or any other variant) variant will brick you. You can flash roms based on firmware from other variants but thats the closest youll get. I'm not 100% but i dint think theres an odin image for lollipop, just the ota file for stock recovery.

Rakuu, does this apply because of at&t version or because of s5 itself? My s3 would accept any international firmware.

I have the Bell Canadian variant of the Samsung S5 and I can't seem to figure out what roms will work on it? Every rom seems so specific when they post the variant it runs on to the point where I don't think I have any options to install any roms. I will settle for standard aosp or cyanogenmod roms.

Hello guys. I'm new with android, but I figured out many things. Recently I found some Russian guide which says that I can install any G900F custom ROM wits SS support at my G900V. So I am wondering if it's true?

I am on OptimalRom 15-5 (it's OG5 based). But I have some issues, so I was thinkibg about some international rom if it possible.
Normally you can't use custom rom with SS, only TW rom. If they said you could, maybe it's not a custom rom, but tweak TW rom. It's not possible to run custom rom with locked bootloader device.

No, G900F and G900V are not the same, you need to find a G900F TW rom that the dev said it's working for your your G900V, which I don't see any.
