Reactivation Lock - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi , i have Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F).
i tryed to reflash rom (beacause the fingerprint lock dont work) and encountered in problem of reactiovation lock that avoid me to acces to recovery mode.
tryed to find any solution and allready tryed everything i found.
android version.......5.0
Baseband version.....G900FXXU1BOD3
Bootloader version.....G900FXXU1BOD3
Build Number.... XtreStoLite INTL v2.2 - XXU1BOD3
here is what i tryed and it didnt work for me.
1.
Download Kies
Connect your phone to Kies
Select the option to emergency/reset your phone.
You will be prompted to first enter your phone ID, then your serial number.
Then Kies will prompt you to boot up into dowloadmode.
Kies will then dowload and flash your phone.
When Starting up, you will have to log in to your Samsung acc to remove the lock.
MAKE SURE YOU GET IT UNTICKED. If not possible, try to remove Samsung acc from your phone and try again.
in this solution i had problems with : cant connect to kies (even with samsung cable, and tryed all usb ports in few comps).
2.
Go to Settings > Security > Uncheck Reactivation Lock
in this solution i had problems with : Settings> Security < Dont Have "Find My Phone" options (that have the reactivation option)
3.
tryed to flash CF Root Via Odin ... or anything via odin (other kernel, other rom...)
everytime got an error
4.
i noticed that i didnt had Samsung Account in account options , and when ill tryed to add it havnt shown in the list.
so i downloaded Samsung Account APK and installed...but still havnt got the find my phone options.
plz help i allready dont know what to try...

tnx ill try...
do you have a link for this thread/download , i cant find it...

Links to that site are banned here, because the owner didn't adhere to the rules of XDA
You'll need to click on the firmware section and type in your S5 model number, if it's G900F, type that in
Site is sammobile . com

after that i connected my phone to pc and opened "Smart Switch" (beacause Kies dont want work with my phone) i did "Device Software Update" after about hour it finnaly finished...
after the reboot i entered to Settings>Security>and saw that "Find My Phone" menu showed up and the Reactivation Lock too! , BUT when i try to UNTICK the reactivation lock it unticked for second and showed up back!!
i checked in download mode and the reactivation lock still "ON"...
HELP PLEASE
found Stock Rom on sammobile G900FXXU1ANG7 but do i need to find Bootloader and Baseband for this ? im coming from lollipop...

I have the same problem on latest stock firmware. I spoke with Samsung support and they said to sent them a phone.

right now i noticed that after i did the last things (turn on USB Debugging and Updated devide software via Smart Switch).
Fixed the problem of entering to recovery mode !!! now there is no message of Reactivation Lock and its entering to recovery mode without any problem!!!
Update!!!:
i tryed to flash other rom or cwm via Odin and via Recovery mode and both failed!!!
so i finally downloaded this stock rom from sammobile :

after installation i got bootloop...
just removed the battery, then entered to stock revcovery mode, did Data/Factory Reset,Reboot and walllla after 15 seconds entered to the galaxy menus, entered all my accounts and deactivated this ****in Reactivation Lock!!!
now i can breath freely
i hope that all the proccess that i wrote here will help to others in this problem.

Install the latest verson of kies on you computer.
Then in kies under "Tools" choose "firmware upgrade and initialisation".
Then give you model number "SM-N910?", next give serial number of the phone (you can find that on the sticker behind the battery in your phone).
Then you get a message that the "device can be initialised to its original setting"
Press ok and ok again. Then put your phone in download mode and connect to the computer and press "start upgrade".
Not working @dewingerd
Kies doesnt detect my phone. Bt drivers are installed correctly. It only opens in downloading mode

Happened to me also 2 days ago.
Your mobile only can enter download mode ? but when u try to go to recovery or just power it , nothing happened , right ??
Well , you should do as @dewingerd said carefully do these steps :
Initially you need to upgrade kies to the latest version (mine is : 3.2.15072_2) or this will fail cuz it failed with me the first time.
1) take of your battery , and write down your Serial number .
2) open kies first.
3) open mobile in download mode then connect it . KIES WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE MOBILE
4) Choose : Tools >> Firmware upgrade and initialisation
5) Kies will ask you about your mobile name , TYPE : SM-N910C , ALL CAPITAL LETTERS OR KIES WILL NOT RECOGNIZE IT
6) if you did not type the name correctly , you will get a message that kies does not know this name , so start again , type SM-N910C
7) then you will get another box asks for your serial number , enter it (Not case sensitive).
8) Kies then will inform you that it is going to prepare the phone and download the firmware for your device and that you have to connect it in download mode.
9) unplug your mobile , plug it again and click start.
10) Now the process is going to take a while depending on your internet connection (downloading about 2GB), do not unplug the phone and do not allow your laptop/PC to sleep.
11) cautions that I read before : you better not connect or disable any usb devices during the process.
12) suddenly , you will hear you mobile starting up again , congratulations
Q: What about my data , apps and stuff ?
A: All is gone except for those on your External card , sorry , nothing can be done for that (May be you should remove your SDcard first just in case).
Good Luck

thank for your quick reply, my variant is n910c ans yes i can still install recovery. I upgraded from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 poland using odin and everything works well. I flashed Googy N4 kernel using TWRP 2.8.1.1 and everything still works well. My problem began when I made a backup of my 5.1.1 stock rom and flash infinity rom which end up in bootloop. So I tried restoring my backup but whenever it got to DATA RESTORING it keeps failing and flashing back the 5.1.1 poland stock firmware through odin keeps ending up on the SAMSUNG boot animation screen.

GoogyMax N4 v2.0. I have tried TWRP 2.8.7.0 but still the same.
After flashing stock firmware using odin, on my stock recovery i found this error
"E:failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)
dm-verity verification failed.......
need to check drk first......."
I have search through the internet but i can't get a clear picture of what it meant.
Does anyone has an idea of what it meant and how to resolve the error?

Hi again ,
Looks like a locked phone and was unlocked in a wrong way or something like that.
read this thread , looks like the same problem.
in short , you need the 4 files firmware to be flashed via oden and as stated in page 2 there , you flash them without pit file.
You can find the 4-files firmware here but this is not 5.1.1 firmware , give it a try , if failed too , search for 5.1.1 4-files firmware.
here is another site but I do not really know if they are 4-files or the single file .
Good luck.

Try to download the appropriate firmware with Samfirm_reborn0.3.6.2 you'll find on Github. Unpack the .zip and start as admin.
Insert full device name and region and additionally check "binary nature" box.
It should download the latest! ROM multiple file format from Samsungs servers directly, at least it did for all my 7 devices (just in case) before I rooted them.
BUT I know that for N910V nothing is found and don't know about S model.
KIES I never used as I read it sometimes conflicts with Odin.
If files are downloaded flash with Odin adding the different files in their input fields. (selve explaining names)

Soft Bricked (SM-G530W)

I was trying to upate the SUBinary and it told me to reboot. As soon as I did I get a message saying "Custom Binary Blocked by FRP" and a red text saying "Secure Fail : Kernal" help me.
It has something to do with your Google account being logged into the phone.. samsung can send signal to reset it but they won't if it's been rooted etc still trying to make sure reflash omg the phone with original rom would make it worse or not. Or maybe just reflash in the kernal. I'm on t mobile but can only find original rom on t mobile same network but we will see. I'm on my fiance a accident messaging from her phone lol or maybe just reflash the kernal the whole problem for me is I don't have a computer to try to reflash from what someone told me I may try to reflash with odin 3.90 with a tar file to the exact model number
Solution
I had the exact same problem as you but i found a fix
i know this is a very late response but who knows maybe some people will run into it
First of all you will need
-odin3
-samsung usb drivers
-g530w tar md5 file find yours here (im telus variant but bell worked for me)
https://1fichier.com/dir/OgrN3QNx
or
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N33i15UVCyA

or

This is the best and quick fix for FRP Lock
...Just follow the link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/help/custom-binary-blocked-frp-t3266961/page3
Worked for my SM-G530W
I had the same problem, and i used Kies3 (not compatible with my phone anyway), but if you go on toolbar to "TOOLS", "Firmware Upgrade and initialisation", it asks you for your device model (for mine i typed SM-G530W, and then it asks you for device serial number (S/N) found under the battery by the IMEI number. After this, follow on screen prompts (Restart your device in Download mode/ PDA, connect USB cable, etc), and let the software download and install (factory rom); After your device restarts, you are good to go (sometimes if it gets stuck on booting, remove battery for few second and start again.) Now you have to go back and set up everything you want, including re-rooting your device... Good luck. (My device is Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530W Factory unlocked rom, Android 5.11.

phone bricked badly galaxy s6 edge plus

hello ,
i rooted my Phone and did a very stupid thing and in settings i turned of oem unlock and usb debugging off again. so now my Phone wont start cause of the message "custom binary(recovery) blocked by frp lock.
i tried something trough odin for the recovery but it failed so now the Phone wont turn off and when i try to go to recovery mode it says "an error has occurred while updating the device software .use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch pc software"
i tried that but the Phone is not compatible with smart switch and with samsung kies 3.
what can i do to unbrick my Phone , is it possible to fix my Phone after this?

Its because you didnt explored smart switch properly ..
I have been there with my phone samsung galaxy j5 ... it happened just like yours ... i rooted my phone, forgot to check oem unlock and got the "custom binary blocked by frp lock" .. then i went to odin and flashed my firmware .. and it turns out .. the firmware i flashed is not the firmware of my phone .. so i got the message "an error occured while updating blah blah please go to smart switch blah blah blah " but i fixed it so theres solution for that ... smart switch
You said smart switch cant read your device?? Its because its bricked theres no way it can be read ..
So all you have to do:
1. Open smart switch
2. Go to "more"
3. Then go to "emergency software recovery and initialization"
5. Then go to "device initialization"
6.Put your model number and then your S/N or serial number .. it is found in the back of your edge plus.. it starts with letter R..
7.. after that .. you wait .. it will download the files for your phone...
That way you wont be flashing ramdom firmwares .. your phones firmware will be flashed since smart switch used the serial number.. i hope this helps..

Did i just brick my brand new A5 2016 ??!. Problem Solved

EDIT: Problem solved!!!
I used this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...very-samsung-sm-a510f-fd-exynos7580-t3314399/ to install TWRP and root my SM-A510FD on 6.0.1 . My device was rooted and working perfectly until stupid me decided to turn off "OEM Unlock" and i restarted my phone and now it says "custom binary blocked by frp lock" The only thing i can do is go to the Download mode. I tried to use Samsung Kies and Smart Switch when in Download mode but they tell me that my device is not supported. But Odin detects my device and says "Added!!". I am currently downloading the stock firmware for my device from Sammobile and i plan to flash it using Odin.
- Will putting the firmware file in the AP section of odin and clicking start work to fix the problem? (I do not care if i will loose data)
- If this will not work is there anything else that i can do? I can't take it to repair because Knox is tripped and i do not have my receipt. If my phone is bricked forever please tell me so i don't waste my time trying to fix it.
Thank you so much in advance! Any help would be extremely appreciated!!

Just flash stock firmware and you are good to go, if it wont boot turn it off, reboot to recovery(stock) and wipe data & factory reset, later you can again flash twrp and root but dont turn off OEM unlock.

What about when my j7 says custom binary blocked by frp lock(boot.img) secure fail:kernel. It will boot into recovery, and download. Factory wipe does nothing, so recovery mode is useless to me at the moment. my computer detects the phone enough to say Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) driver error as the label of the phone. No matter what mode I'm in. Drivers are up to date, odins good, usb port, computer, and data cords are all good. I've flashed other phones and hooked this one up to another pc to see that it says the same thing. How do I get the computer and/or odin to agree with my phone enough to pick it up as a good device?

"OEM Unlocking". Check the box. This SHOULD disable the FRP lock as well. ??

"OEM Unlocking". Check the box. This SHOULD disable the FRP lock as well. ??
SO before i was gonna flash custom recovery i turned on OEM Unlocking and usb debugging. I have done this many times before.
But now i get the Custom binary FRP lock. This happened right after i turned OEM unlocking on and restarted I didn't do anything els. Isnt this how you are suppose to turn the FRP lock off...
Because it has always worked before my phone isa J500FN
Now i have to recover the phone kies doesnt support my modell.. Been like this for a half year. So need to use Odin and flash default firmware i'm doing 5.1.1 I believe the marshmallow os did this. Or I have setup some protection against it so I have to turn it off. Iv read that samsung app have a way to turn off FRP and your google account got it too. So have to check into that later if this flash will complete fine I hope.
