[Q] Enabling Market in UAE (Galaxy Tab)

I bought one from local carrier Etisalat, it has all the features working except the most wanted one "Market". I tried many ways to enable it but no success. Finally I am able to install the Market and can open it after some errors. But now once I select any app to install it shows downloading and then shows error in notification area "Download was unsuccessful, please try again". Please guys help me out of this issue.

Not sure if it will do any good. But try the market enabler. Maybe faking your carrier will help.

I tried this but this also needs a proper working market application.
In my case the app is not working properly.

Hey, mind me asking you which method did you use to get market? I'm not haveing any issues with market on my tab or desire

SOLUTION 1
First option is by changing the region.
In the dialer do:
*#272*YOUR_IMEI#
This will bring up a little menu. Select XSG, install and you are ready to go.
!!!!Be warned though, this will do a factory reset and you will lose your apps and stuff.
!!!!If your going to try, backup everything.

SOLUTION 2
Procedure :
Install a file manager like.Estrongs or Astro from here:
Transfer it with bluetooth or USB to your phone and install.
After installing the File manager.
1. Go to internal memory root
2. navigate to /system/app
3. Locate Vending.apk
4. push on it to install it
It may force close the first time you run it but the second time it should work.
If you still encounter Force Close or download issues, do the following ( you might want to do it anyway as it is sometimes better to start with a clean slate)
1. Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications
2. Chose All
3. Find Market
4. Push on it and select Clear data
P.S (you might want to use the attached Vending.apk if the one that is on Galaxy Tab fails)

First method has yo work, it changes sales code of the tab, try it again..

I tried that one, there is no XSG or any EU countries code. All are Middleast, turkey etc and I think in all of those market is disabled.
Guys please help me, this issue is pissing me off.

do you have KEN? My friend got it to work on his tab with the KEN code ! check it out !

Kenya works, most of the countries there work, I got mine working on Tunisia I think.
now if you want arabic support as well, your going to need to flash the software to the newer UAE one which also has the Android Market

I am in Jordan.
I tried XSG and still have only free apps. I dont have KEN either.
I tried KSA , the Market icon went off... so I am back to XSG but still no paid Apps. just the free ones.
Any suggestions?

Market Enabler works only if you have rooted your device.

Thanks for your reply... I did install z4root and I had 2 options, permanent and temp. root.. I did the permanent root and tried market enabler (it keeps on saying: Huston, we've got a problem) then tried the temp. root and the same message appears.
When I used the *#272* method, I am currently on XSG and when I've connected my TAB to my PC it prompted me that there is an update, so I updated it and dont have a clue if my device is still rooted or not but yet again, market enabler is not working.

Where are the game save files located on Android?

Got a galaxy note 3 and a note 10.1 2014 edition. both are not rooted.
I would like to transfer my progress in Injustice - Gods among us from my tablet to the phone.
Been looking online and in other threads here and the only option I saw is TI backup, which is for rooted devices.
I've checked the iOS setup, and they have a save file *.bin that they can use iFunbox to extract.
Is there no save file on Android? where is it?

Most of them in root/data/data. So you need root access as well. Maybe using adb you can pull it

Basically root not needed but some people say it depends on what you're doing. Perhaps if you're to copy a root file no root is needed but if you're trying to delete maybe root is needed(even so with correct permission still no root required)
But i don't know adb so not sure.

Try Helium, but you will need Helium (carbon) for pc also. You need to connect ur phone to pc, start carbon on pc and phone to enable it for backup or restore. Copy the backup file over Will do.

Ok, tried Helium but it didn't work.
In addition I have something to say about the Samsung service as a whole.
I tried to find the Samsung android USB drivers on the Samsung website but it's impossible to get anything useful out of it.
Eventually I found the most updated drivers on these forums.
After that I contacted Samsung online chat support to receive assistance on backing up in-app data.
Turns out, there's no way to do it with anything Samsung offers (WHICH IS ABSURD).
Such a basic functionality and it's not available through any Samsung app or feature.
The only thing the support did was to comfort me regarding this issue and telling me there's no way to do it unless I use a 3rd party app, which they cannot recommend.
I have never had such ****ty service from such a big company. It started with the update and it's just going downhill ever since.
Unbelievable.

TL DNR: Helium worked perfectly for me with my Galaxy S4 and my new Galaxy S7, both of these devices are non-rooted and I used the free version of Helium. Continue reading for a walkthrough of what worked for me and will hopefully work for you.
I just got a Galaxy S7 (I upgraded from a Galaxy S4) and I wanted to keep my progress from all of my games so I wouldn't have to start from square one. All I had to do was download Helium on both of my phones and the desktop program. Then I connected my S4 to my desktop using a usb cable, opened Helium and followed the on screen instructions to backup whichever apps I chose. After that I set my S4 to connect via MTP and opened my phone on my desktop. The file path should look like this My Computer\Your_Phones_Name\Phone\carbon (carbon is the folder where Helium saves the app data that you chose to backup). Copy all the app folders you want, then follow pretty much the same steps for connecting your new device to your desktop and paste the folders from your old device in your new device's carbon folder. Once you've done that, on your new device open Helium and go to Restore And Sync, Internal Storage, select your apps to restore, and then finally enjoy your progress that you deserve!

A much much easier solution is to make use of the cloud backup feature in the game.
Just make a WBID account in-game and all your progress will be backed up. If you reinstall the game on the same device or another, just make sure you sign in with your WBID and a prompt with Superman will appear giving you the option to restore your progress.
DO NOT RESTORE USING THE CLOUD BUTTON AT THE TOP RIGHT CORNER IN THE MAIN MENU as Google Play Games cloud restore is broken in Injustice and you'll lose your progress!!!
I find this method alot easier than fiddling with system files =)

How to get adb to do that please? I'm new to this stuff. I tried adb root but it says "adbd cannot run as root in production builds" I'm using linux if that helps. Device I'm trying to extract from is non-rooted OnePlus 3T.

So in the internal storage (NOT ROOT), you first need to know the first company maker of the app & then the first name of the app (example : tiktok would be somthing.musically) because of the package name & how it updates & stuff.
Now when you go to the Android Folder, you see data, this is where (most) files are saved for progress & is usually in here where data gets wiped by settings for apps, scroll down for your app, click on it & then...
find a way to put all those files into your other device.
(this is also how some people cheat their way through games like subway surfers unless they're a bit complicated for most users lol)

Galaxy Grand G531HXXU0APE1 recover contacts or root problem

Hello forum,
I have Galaxy grand prime DUOS SM-G531 Build HXXU0APE1 android Version 5.1.1 , I accidentally lost all of my contacts by sync with google (I had on my phone over 400 contact and in my google account only 20 contact, when I turn Sync on it deleted all my phone contacts and replaced it with google 20 contacts only)
So I did some search trying to recover my contacts I found some software clams that they can do the trick (ex :Wondershare Dr.Fone - FonePaw Android Data Recovery - ... .etc ).
I tried these apps but unfortunately it needs root permissions, So I tried to root the phone with several methods (Kingo Root PC method, Kongo Root Mobile app method, Xposed Installer method . CF-Auto-Root method) and nothings seems to work
It looks like that there is no way to root this Build G531HXXU0APE1 , So I tried to Downgrade to older version (G531HXXU0AOG1) also didn't work.
Of course the phone got boot stuck after trying each one of the previous methods - but I re install the original stock rom (G531HXXU0APE1) and the phone works fine again.
So the summary of problem is - How to restore my Contacts ? or How to Root my phone to try restoring them .??

That's not typical, but Google contact has the recycle bin feature:
Go to Google Contacts from computer browser.
Click on “More” on the top left and then select “Recover contacts” open.
Choose a time to restore to (eg. 30 days ago)
See this guide on how to recover contacts from Samsung Galaxy Grand.

LeTV Max3-55-65-65 Pro Rooting & Playstore Sideload

Here I will give you steps on How to root LETV Super TV X3-55, X3-65, X3-65 Pro
Disclaimer: I will not be responsible if your TV gets into a costly brick. The risk is entirely yours.
Rooting : (X3 series - all working)
a) Download kingoroot apk from https://root-apk.kingoapp.com/kingoroot-download.htm
b) Click on root button (Will work after 2 - 3 times, may even exit and turn blank, Dont worry)
c) Now you have got root
d) Download Root Explorer and install the apk
e) Push the all the folders like app, priv-app, etc,framework (Letv Gapps v1.0) from the attached link inside \system folder and merge using root explorer.

You can also root it with kingroot.apk Works fine with US version. Sometimes you need to run it couple times.
I did it long ago with my x3-55pro US version. It also works with Indian ROM
English version attached.

Yes that will allow you to login with youtube app or any other app which uses google services. Basically all google services will work. The only problem is with the play market. It stops working after self-update (which does not affect any other apps, youtube will still work).
As a temporary workaround you can go to android settings -> apps -> all. Find the Play market and press on "Delete Updates". That gives you an option to use play market till next self-update.

Not sure then. I'm going to make a separate thread tonight with my custom firmware. It has youtube and google services pre-installed (as many other changes) So you will be able download and install it, if you want.

I made a mistake in file.I have reuploaded the Gapps. Try now

Samsung Cloud Installation

- Put SamsungCloud.apk in \system\pri-app\ then set perrmission rw-r-r 644
- Restart your device
Note: Try to remove SCloudService folder in \system\pri-app\ if you can't find Samsung Cloud in Backup and reset (in Settings) or anywhere. Samsung Cloud locates in Backup data now and Restore. You have 15 Gb free cloud storage.
Compatible with Android 6.0 (untested on Lollipop 5.0)

At this time, Amdroid 6.0 Samsung devices only.

Updated SamsungCloud.apk (2.2.08) November, 2016.
NOTE: Gallery sync only works with new Gallery beta on S7/S7 Edge and Note 7 Android 7.0. Apk file is below. Install SecGallery2016.apk as normal apk.

Ya, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

So thank you my messages weren't updating via cloud even after factory resets and fresh flashes and rooting so I used your method of replacing privapp samsung cloud apk with an updated one but on my 935V on 935U I also needed to do the same to cmhprovider.apk as cloud privapp folder to get it to stop failing. I can't find how to attach a file so go to sammobile.com and download samsung cloud apk 3.0.00.1 and then download cmhprovider.apk 3.1.13 from apk linker I think search and you'll find it. I also updated my cloud gateway apk to most recent one I could find. I don't know if that effects anything or the fact I use s8 TouchWiz launcher on my s7 edge but there ya go. If you needed more info bc you too had a issue that wasn't fully fixed here is another step that will hopefully help someone like me who usually has to wing it and hope for the best. Again thank you for this cloud installation instructions bc I could not find a single other article or post that helped!!

I forgot to say my gallery is updated to most recent on sammobile.com and this new version of cloud is super cool.
