Hi, yesterday I started working on a CyanogenMod device tree for this device. I'll get my moto g 2015 in some days (I hope) so I need your help for some things.
You don't need the root to get these informations
First of all I need to know partitions size. You should type this in your phone terminal (you can use this one):
Code:
cat /proc/partitions > /storage/sdcard0/partitions.txt
You should find a file called "partitions.txt" in your virtual sdcard; please, post it here. (not needed anymore)
Second thing, I'd like to use a unified device tree (this mean just a build for every variant) you should report here the result of (from the terminal, of course):
Code:
getprop ro.boot.radio
In both cases report your variant (XT1540, XT1541, XT1542...) and if you have a 1GB/8GB model or 2GB/16GB too, please
Status:

For now that's all, thanks for your contribution, Alberto97
ro.board.platform=msm8916 - Same for XT1540 Retail US (1GB) and XT1550 Retail Asia (2GB) and likely all models with possibly the exception of XT1548 - CDMA.

Sorry, I meant getprop ro.boot.radio, already corrected the OP, I copy-pasted the wrong line
Nice to see the device tree. I'm working on a device tree too.
But since this is the first time I'm working on a device tree, it's not gonna be so much usable
getprop ro.boot.radio = 0x4
partitions.txt attached
XT1541 (1GB/8GB model)
Good luck!

Thanks, now XT1541 1/8GB is fine, let's see the other variants now
This device is essentially surnia (2015 Moto E LTE) with a bigger screen and better camera.
@Alberto97 The CM device tree for surnia might be a good place to look to get CM working on osprey.

Surnia device tree is based on msm8226-common + device specific changes; it's the same thing I'm doing after all
EDIT: Sorry, I got now what you mean, anyway I'm already taking a look there too
Xt1550 (16/2) = 0x9
XT1540 8GB/1GB results: 0x1

I made it based on surnia
Only thing is, system.prop and init/init_osprey.c is missing here
I should be getting an XT1540 16/2GB today, I will post here when I do with the information in the main post.
I got this with the buildprop command; getprop ro.boot.radio = 0x1
using a 16GB/2GB RAM Moto G XT1540.
Got XT1543 2/16GB (retail Brazil/Latin America) today: getprop ro.boot.radio ==> 0x6
Can't wait to have CM on this phone!!! Thanks in advance, @Alberto97
here is defconfig for this device from stock.
and i think you can use surnia kernel source to build because i have a look in surnia kernel source...this device support is already there.
I'll be willing to test this whenever you want
thanx

Our phone has a problem that everyway the compile rom(eg:VANIR AOSP,CM10,CM11,CM12,CM12.1) can not find the sim card.
And many developers try to compile it,but failed.
The latest developer is VANIR(https://sudosurootdev.com/),they start at April 2015.And we also donate him a device of
lgl22.In addition to,we donated about $70 in total for his development.

So I want to find one or more developer's help,We still have about $60 left(JUST the first donation).
IF you transplant AOSP OR CM11 for lgl22 and it can find the sim card,It's all yours.
IF you compile the AOSP or CM or more and it can find the sim card,We will donate $100 and support you for a long time.

The reason they are having issues and it never works is because the files that control that for that version are not open source. This is alsao the reason you dont see many roms that fully work for alot of devices based in Asia.
This may not be an option for your device.
Thanks man. I will donate some too, if someone takes on the chalenge.

Update:-
Motorola Utility added.
Greeting Developers ,
I am new to this ROM building/porting process.
I want to install Vanilla Android on my note-4, so after questioning Google number of times, I came across official Android development guide on official Android website: https://source.android.com/source/downloading.html
I have downloaded the Android source locally and was following various Guides and tutorials from XDA-University & forums only for the development process. http://xda-university.com/as-a-devel...ng-source-code
I discovered that for downloading/configuring the build for a specific device(trltexx), we need to create a localmanifest file that contains device tree, vendor and kernel configuration links for repo syncing.
Now, I want your expertise to guide me forward from this point. Questions being:
1. Can I use CM or other projects (eg. AICP etc.) device configurations for this AOSP project.
2. Can I use these configurations for cross-version android build, say if I want to compile version 6.x, can 5.x configs can be used. (Manufacturer will take several months to release version update)
or Create new configurations using some guide/tutorial/book or something.
In XDA, I know I'm at the write place posting my questions and asking for expertised help.
Thanks!!
Head into the aosp Dev thread from raymanfx he is working on 6.x and has 5.1 aosp mostly fully working.
For exynos there's no other vanilla rom as far that I know apart from his. For non exynos there is an official cyanogen rom I believe

Thanks for your reply @contramundi, I got N-910G which is a snapdragon version. I just want to know if I can use AOSP sources from google and device configurations from CM, AOSP rom can be built or I need to use specific device configurations for AOSP.
Why?
There's no need to start a whole thread for this as there are numerous threads to ask such a simple question. You didn't say which version of AOSP you were building, but regardless-- yes, you can try to start with CM device trees, but prepared to change quite a bit as there are quite a few dependencies on CM enhancements there.
If you want a truly "vanilla" experience, I"d use the Code Aurora sources, not AOSP's, as CA has all the latest Qualcomm support/bug fixes for MSM and APQ devices, which only may hit the AOSP tree when they do a new release. It is the repository where Samsung starts with their version of Android, and it's where CM also gets its qcom support/repositories.
Gekke, slahyer, and I have done the work to make the Note 4 build/work-- both for lollipop and now starting for 6.0 Marshmallow. And speaking of 6.0, before you even think of building that w/AOSP, you'd also need tons of patches for the Samsung kernel which I also have also already done.
Rather than just applying our work to vanilla AOSP though, you're welcome to join the community effort on CM 13, which has already been successfully built for tmo, eur/xx, spr, and edge so far) on the other thread. You'll need to read about the last two months of posts to catch up. I also posted a link to instructions on building CM-13 in my .sig below.
If you are insisting on straight AOSP by yourself, I would recommend you look at the shamu (Nexus 6) model. It is the same soc as the Note 4, albeit with different peripherals (screen, fingerprint reader, etc.). But it might be a place to start. My build instructions would need some slight tweaking for vanilla AOSP, but I'm sure you could figure it out.

Good work! I am thinking of buying this device. Is there any possibility of inline kernel building without kernel source from Xiaomi? Maybe this guide would be useful, kumajaya was able to bring source by importing CAF tag and many commits from related developer-friendly devices (YU).

Yep it will be possible. Currently dtb is being extracted. Also Xiaomi will release proper kernel source as they promised.

Is it your project too?

Did they? I wouldn't bet anything on their promise. Maybe in a year we'll get GPL code, and even after this time, it'll be still incomplete.
Is it a kernel issue to port cm13 instead of cm12.1?

Hey guys! This is an experimental build of Lineage OS 13 for J2 Prime (G532x).
I didn't made it. I'm just sharing it as author's petition. Credits below.
This is just for DEVELOPERS. It isn't stable to use it in your every-day phone.

What isn't working:
WiFI
Bluetooth
SIM
IMEI
Camera
Audio
And probably a lot more.

Hey, nice job there.
Sadly anything telephony-based is (almost?) impossible to fix because of Samsung's own implementation instead of MTK one
Anyway. Can I have the base ROM device? Also, does it survives a reboot? An older cm14 port had wifi working but bootlooped after a reboot. Ty!
Edit: your screenshots are broken
This is GETAKGT1 work. You should search it on facebook. He is good. I hope we can contribute to his work and manage to credit him for his works.

Oh and, Lenovo K4 Note has MT6753 with base Marshmallow which is (maybe?) able to port to our phone. How about asking the dev to port from that? Ty

Melekpro says that this device is 64 bits, he will need more time to cross port from 32 bits.
He also wanted to give you him Telegram and Facebook for you to contact him.
