First of all Lolipop works nice but damn tablet should work like that 2 years ago... anyway i need help how to root Lolipop 5.1 because supertool 2.7 and 3.0 don't see tablet. Thanks, have nice day.
You need to get into recovery mode with a recovery version that allows the installation of unsigned zips. Then get the latest SuperSu.zip and install that from the recovery mode.
https://download.chainfire.eu/740/SuperSU
Get the Beta if available.
Hi! I just got the Note 7 and have done the OTA to 5.1.
So now I wish to upgrade this tablet to the max! Basically - Root+ Custom ROM+ custom kernel.
Please recommend where to proceed and things to install. Do we have any custom Lollipop ROMs/kernels yet? Or atleast root? and for Root which recovery to install for 5.1?
Thanks!

Only root at the moment. Here is the TWRP Recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586432
Flash the latest superSu
For custom roms/kernels you are out of luck right now, because:
1. there are no custom roms, yet(not even for older android versions)
2. the latest custom kernel is only compatible with kitkat.
So you will have to wait for those to be updated/released.

I know this thread has been here a while, but I'd like to know if this super tool will work on a 1988 model or only the 1640 model.
Thank you

So I finally found some time for my unlocked and rooted nexus 4. Right now it is on 4.3 stock and I want to update to 4.4.2. Now the question which I couldn't find an answer on Google: Do I loose root after manual update? I've seen some videos on that, but some say that you need stock recovery (I have TWRP), but nothing about root.
Also, I'd install Franco kernel after that.
Help and possible tutorial would be appreciated, I'm still kinda new to android.
You can have a stock experience by installing the Experience ROM in the development thread.
Make sure you are running the latest TWRP before trying to flash a 4.4 ROM.

Yes, always when you flash another stock Rom, you will lose root.
But it's a matter of seconds to reroot after flashing latest supersu.zip through TWRP.

Alright, thanks. I guess I'll do thst.
I had rooted my InnJoo ONE 3G HD device running 4.4 (KitKat) using KingoRoot android app.
A few days ago I updated my device to official 5.1 (Lollipop) ROM.
After that I tried rooting using KingoRoot android app, but it doesn't work anymore.
I understand that with 5.0/5.1 (Lollipop) Google introduced an extra layer of security that essentially disallows all exploit based rooting methods.
The only way around, so far has been modding the kernel or using a custom recovery.
I can't seem to find any custom recovery for InnJoo ONE 3G HD 5.1 (Lollipop).
Also, there are no modded kernels for InnJoo ONE 3G HD at all.
I was wondering if pushing any custom recovery with MTK Droid Tool would work or not.
The only problem I see is losing IMEI info.
So, the question is, does anyone know about a method for rooting InnJoo ONE 3G HD 5.1 (Lollipop).
Or, does anyone have a custom recovery for InnJoo ONE 3G HD 5.1 (Lollipop).
Hope all InnJoo ONE fans find a solution for this soon
i am trying to root it as we speak but all tried failed miserably XD
this update seems unrootable for the time being
Root & recovery for innjoo one lollipop update will be released soon... Recovery needs some final touch, stay tuned

All zip roms I have downloaded from InnJoo website for InnJoo One 3G HD has all errors while extracting. Is anyone else having the same issues?
None of the roms i downloaded from innjo gave me errors while extracting
Using 7z or winrar latest version to exract them
If you continue to get errors then its coming from your pc ... Try another pc for a change and use 7z to extract

Kitkat 4.4 is good for Innjoo One in terms of battery, otherwise Lollipop is also good but battery problem is there. However, you can install a CM 12.1 custom rom by @EnerJon which is very good in battery timing. I am using it.
Can some one please reupload the recovery since the OP link doesn't work any more..
Here it is

I've been a mod head for many years and just got my Storm after many happy HTC years. I was just wondering is worth rooting the Storm as it is already running a customised OS. Any thoughts please?
I recomend you rooting . It is simple. Now we have TWRP so i believe custom roms like DU and others will be availble soon AS for now you can choose between COS 12.1.1 (Lollipop) and CM13(marshmallow) and i believe cm12.1 (lollipop). Shotly i recomend rooting.

Do you have to increase the size of the system partition to install CM13 (marshmallow) or simply flash the latest CM13 recovery and nightly for the storm(kipper) device.
You dont need to repartition. I recomend flash TWRP and then cm13, because i've had some problems with Cyanogen recovery

OK thanks, I already have TWRP installed, so you can easily install the latest cm13 nightly using TWRP recovery, then an applicable gaps package.
Do you have drivers for the storm. If so post a link
After rooting my Note 3 (not branded or simlocked) many moons ago with Towelroot, I've come to the point of wanting to update things a tad. I never installed a custom recovery so it's just a root.
However, looking through the multiple threads here and not wishing to make a bad mistake I'm a little confused and could do with some clear pointers.
I am currently on 4.3 Jellybean BL: N900XXUBMJ3 so most threads deal with later versions and I really want to know what the best path is to now being able to start trying out custom roms such as the DarkWolf ROM or just get this to Lollipop. Obviously now Knox 1x0 is no longer a problem as it's out of warranty.
I assume that the step should really be to install a custom recovery and for that there is a confusion of whether I can do that directly on my current bootloader or do I have install 4.4.2 as some threads suggest?
Probably due to my misunderstanding I am not sure if a 4.4 bootloader is separate from the firmware. If it comes to having to update the bootloader do I have to completely upgrade to Kitkat or can I just update the bootloader only?

You can flash custom recovery for 4.3 but all 5.1.1 and 6.0 roms require 5.0 bootloader to make the camera to work correctly.
Flash 4.3 custom recovery. Then flash the rom of your choice. Then flash 5.0 bootloader. After that flash 4.4.2/5.0 recovery.
Or flash 5.0 firmware. Flash 4.4.2/5.0 custom recovery. Flash the rom of your choice.

Thanks for that Rosli,
I actually found that OTA was working still so I let it update. This went through a lot of updates one by one till it got to the latest 4.3. All this left root intact. Then it downloaded the kitkat but that failed. I had figured that if I let it update to Lollipop I could then root it with CF Autoroot but as it's not going any further (probably due to the fact that I'm rooted .. maybe), I will have to manually update via Odin.
I would probably in that case prefer your advice of flashing 5.0 directly then custom recovery, however, do I have to CF autoroot or can I flash recovery without root and then root after that?

Can flash custom recovery then root. But if you're going to flash custom rom no need to root after custom recovery.

Android andi has a ton of stuff on his github.
Home | OpenSource Development by Android-Andi @ XDA
http://andi34.github.io/
Download twrp manager and use it to install twrp. Latest version of andi's works with his newer Roms
Read andi's github. I think he has directions on how to flash Roms..
You got a pc? Odin is used to flash twrp/stock too
