Just got my N7 wifi back from Asus after their lollipop update bricked it.
It came back installed with 4.3 (nakasi update version JWR66Y).
What is the recommended method to unlock it so I can flash twrp via fastboot and install CM12.1?

For the life of me I cant get 4.4.2 to install/boot on my nexus 7 2012 wifi
Wondering if there is a stock rooted zip out there so i can just flash it and be done with it.
Ive:
wiped
locked/unlocked bootloader
flashed the stock image (installs/boots but doesnt start) 'com.google.settings' fails at start.
flashed 4.4 image and tried to update via OTA (fails)
flash 4.4 and tried to sideload the update in stock recovery (failed, unexpected contents in system/google email)
flash 4.4 and tried to install update viz TWRP...failed
running out of ideas. My last hope is a 4,4,2 stock rooted rom i can just flash via twrp. but there doent seem to be one.
found one for my n10/n5, but not my n7 (2012 wifi)
any leads?
Should I flash the latest KK image to ensure the modem and bootloader are latest version..
The baseband says: M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190082
I received it with 2.7.0.0 twrp and there were custom rom zips all over.. so I can not tell when it was rooted..
Open to suggestions..
Hey mystique
If you want to start with a clean slate I recommend getting your stock image from here
And use the lg flashtool in the back to stock guide to flash it.
Incidently, since your on twrp 2.7 I assume that you're on the jb boot loader
What was that "phone info tool" to find the bootloader version..
Looks like the device was initially rooted in July 2014..
Assuming that they had kk and such..
I am currently on Lollipop on my N910G and I want to downgrade to KitKat by flashing a custom rom in recovery. Do I need to downgrade my bootloader and modem as well? I have been trying to find an Odin flashable bootloader and modem but cant find a download anywhere at the moment.
I went through this process a while ago.
From what I remember, I had to wipe the device in recovery and flash the official kitkat rom.
I think I followed this guide:
http://www.androidexplained.com/galaxy-note-4-how-to-downgrade-to-android-4-4-4-kitkat/
Prerequisites: D802, 32 GB, Stock 4.4.2. I believe "Int" version (original motherboard was replaced)
I tried to upgrade stock 4.4.2 with CM13 and failed with the brick result (LG logo for a couple of seconds and the black screen then).
Now the recovery mode is available (TWRP 3.0.2 bump blastagator) but there is no android image loaded except CM 13.0 snapshot 20160418 which causes the brick state.
The questions are following:
What was wrong?
What proper android image can be used to unbrick?
How to load image on the phone?
Since I found Mount->USB-OTG checkbox in the TWRP, then I hope the OTG cable can be used to load image from USB flash drive. Unfortunately I can check it now.
Will be appreciate for the help.
KK bootloader, that's the reason. If you want to have stock bootstack you need to update to 5.0.2 stock, root and then flash TWRP and CM13. Everything'll work fine.

Thanks edi.
Do I need to replace TWRP bootloader with another one (I guess stock) and then update to 5.0.2 or I can start updating 5.0.2 with TWRP?
If you want to stay with stock bootstack:
You need to flash 5.0.2 KDZ file with download mode.
If you want to do it fast:
You need to flash hybrid bootstack.
Thanks a lot.
Fixed.
I have successfully rooted and unlocked the bootloader of my phone. i am on version 1.12.40.349_20150901. After that I flashed twrp recovery. Now i want to update firmware to marshmallow but i cannot receive any update due to unblocking. So please tell me how update to mm.
use adb sideload method, or update from sd card using stock recovery
