I have rooted my SGS and would like to change the boot animation to the original. I have already got the original boot animation .png files but I do not know how to replace it to current animation files.
Anybody?
if they are in the .qmg format, then i think you have to push your .qmg file to
system/media/
if they aren't then you have to make an update.zip file and put the files in appropriate folder and update your phone.
search the forum for more info on how to..
Can anyone tell me how to change the boot animation to the orginal mytouch 4g animation ?
I recently flashed virtuous unity 2.35 rom. It works great, but i really miss my original mytouch boot animation.
Please help, I need boot & shutdown animations......
In my opinion.. the easiest way to replace the boot animation is to use Root Explorer (or other r/w file explorer). Just navigate to the system/media directory. Then rename the bootanimation.zip file to old and copy it to your sdcard. Then place the bootanimation.zip file that you are going to use in the system/media directory. After you verify that the new animation works you can delete your backup if you like.
But i need the original boot animation files to replace the virtuous unity animations.
Is there any way to find it? Do anyone have a link?

Post 34...just rename and replace file as stated in post above yours....
The bootanimation on Sense ROMs resides in /system/customize/resource/ rather than /system/media.
I was looking for a change in scenery so I flashed this:

But anyway, I didn't backup the stock boot animation files and I would like to go back to the old Verizon S5 boot animation but I cannot find them anywhere so I am requesting someone with root access to share the stock boot animation files.
Btw if you don't know, the files I'm looking for are:
bootsamsung.qmg
bootsamsungloop.qmg
shutdown.qmg
These are located in system/media

Hello,
I have previously owned many android devices in changing the boot animation only require me to replace 'bootanimation.zip' on '/system/media' but as far as my knowledge it is not the same with S5.
I refered a guide onlline and they require me to flash a zip file after which I will be able to change the boot animations as normal (link: http://gs5.wonderhowto.com/how-to/easily-change-boot-animations-your-samsung-galaxy-s5-0157380/ )
I flashed the file and downloaded a bootanimation that is XXHDPI (1080*1920) and placed it in /system/media, renamed it as 'bootanimation.zip' and changed the permissions read, write for owner and all other as just read.
Now when I reboot my device just skips the bootanimation, someone please help
I am using cn3l with miui 9.2 pro custom rom. My default boot animation in miui rom is droid bootup. As i want to change the the animation, i tried to download and copy bootanimation.zip in system/media/ with root permissions rw-r--r-- . The animation is working fine with jarvis animation, which i selected. But the sound file is not working. I have copied the file in system/media/audio/ui with name PowerOn.ogg. And moreover i tried with System-TurnOn.ogg as the poweroff sound in the folder is with name System-TurnOff.ogg, but in both cases it is of no use. Can anyone help me? Or anyone stuck in same place? Thanks in advance..
