Verizon Message+ APP please - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have the Verizon Message+ APK for whatever version was immediately prior to the current version (5.6.1)? I would like to revert back until they fix the notification problems.
Thanks

I've been trying to look for this version try to out. can you upload the apk? The version prior to this is 5.5.30 http://www.androidapk.ws/app/verizon-messages-apk

Thanks, but if I download from that link, it is actually 5.5.1.
Are you looking for 5.6.1? You can get that from the play store.

Yea. Its not updated from the playstore yet. I guess they are doing it in waves. Not everyone got the update. Im still on 5.5.30

I'll pm you a link with 5.6.1.
Are you able to extract your messages+ 5.5.3 apk before you update it? It's in Device/System/app.

5.6.3 is out. I'm having the same problem. Do you want that apk or can you get that one from the play store?
EDIT: Never mind. It looks like 5.6.3 is what I sent you yesterday.

I am not having any notifications problems like you. Are you getting the text messages but no sound?

I use Vibify to get a vibration notification when I have new messages. It does what "smart alert" is supposed to do on Samsung phones but never works. If I get a new message, phone call, voicemail, etc while I'm away, my phone will vibrate as soon as I touch it (without me having to turn it on) to let me know something new is there. With the new version of message+, it vibrates EVERY time I pick up my phone, new text message or not. It's really, really annoying. Everything else seems to be working fine, although I do prefer the old layout to the new one.

Try light flow app. You can control led, sounds and vibrations. Just set message+ to none or vibrate

I travel a lot and the ability to receive text over WiFi is a big deal for me. Message+ is the only way I've found to do that so far.

Facebook push???

Has anyone else started getting Facebook push notifications??? I haven't updated the Facebook app since a week or two ago, but as of last night I started getting pushes.
Anyone else?
I did as well and mine hasn't been updated either.
i haven't gotten any except for a random chat message that i got while i was still online on my computer.
I did as well. Either EC05 fixed it or Facebook tweaked something on their end. I did a double take when one popped up lol

Wasn't EC05 since I am still on EB13.
I was using Flow to get my notifications but last night I updated to EC05 and all of a sudden my fb app notifications started pushing again. Maybe they finally got their act together.

I wonder if sprint had them turn off the feature because of dk28 being leaked (remember it worked at first) and now that there is an official non-pulled version of Froyo (since only 2.2+ supports push notifications) they turned it back on... just a thought.

Are you expecting it to notify you of Likes? It won't.
Otherwise, there's nothing to set AFAIK. I did turn off the update interval though.

Its not supported yet which is a joke. You only get notified of messages and event invites.
I wasn't getting the facebook push and neither was my husband, but after updating to E05 we are now getting the push notifications. We also had an update from facebook so I am not sure which enabled the push again.

I have syncsms and it works fine but you need dropbox as well as the messages go through it. Another good one is textab. That one connects phone through bluetooth instead of using dropbox. Pretty handy.

It's been disabled on Verizon. Its a different version of the messaging app without spam filtering or the ability to send scheduled messages. which would be fine if Verizon's Messages+ could schedule sms but it cant. Scheduling was one of my absolute favorite features on my s3 I used it every day since i have a few buddies on overnight shifts that i cant test during the day.
tried replacing the apk and odex and fixing permissions with the appropriate files from the international variant. Files were from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2796268
Everything worked, including scheduling and spam senders but it blocked MMS from going through saying "invalid destination address"
tried again with the apk and odex from ATT variant, same result.
Anyone have any ideas? Doesnt anyone want this feature back? Coming from the Sprint forums to here is such a big change, theres no devs here.
Cant believe nobody else cares about these features? Is this in the wrong section? anyone know how to move this thread to the Q&A section?

haha THANK YOU. its ok you dont know how to do it I was just beginning to think there was no mod community on this forum at all.
honestly progress as far as modding this phone is slower than all my previous phones. Something small like this is going to be a difficult task to find on here. I'm sure eventually it will come up but it's going to take time.
Side note... I ditched stock messaging apps and went with GO SMS PRO. This way any phone I end up in the future will have the same messaging app I'm accustomed to.
anyone get a bearing on this?
Maybe you need to change something in the APN settings?
I've noticed on my phone that unless data is on, I can't send mms.
I switched to Textra which does everything you ask.
I hope some of these ideas help.
These are just some ideas, as you can tell I'm not using the same phone or the same carrier. (I'm using a Verizon HTC DROID DNA on AT&T)

Enable RCS on SM-N9860 Note20 Stock Messaging App

If your carrier supports RCS, you can follow this video to enable it on your Hongkong / Taiwan Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
For those who don't know what RCS is, it's a feature where you can send original quality photos, video and other large supported files using your phones messaging app. It's like iMessage.

I'm on verizon, was using google messages for chat, but turned it off. I'm missing too many messages. People will call and ask me if I got them, I check and status in chat just says "connecting". Have to force close and open messages again to connect, but the missed messages never make it through.

I'm very sorry for how this may sound..... BUT, you know you can change the "light- up" settings per each app in your settings right? Your phone doesn't have to light-up for each text message you receive, or any other app for that matter.
