Hey All,
I've seen some posts stating that the bootloader for this phone can't be unlocked.
I'm using the E6533 model and wanted to confirm that it is possible.
Just go to this website: http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/ (the official sony one)
Select Xperia Z3 as the model (I know we have the Z4/Z3+ but it still works). Enter your email and click the link they email you.
Insert the IMEI number and they will give you the unlock code. then just run
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock <code>
and it will work.
As a note this WILL wipe your device, so backup anything you may need on it.
Hopefully with this we can get root / twrp built
So TA backup is needed to keep the DRM keys before unlocking the bootloader. Is there a way to back up TA of non-rooted devices? Flashtool doesn't fully support Z3+ yet.
help
Quick question , what to do if you have Unlock allowed: No?
Generally speaking this always meant just what it says... That it's not possible to unlock the bootloader. This was often the case with oem phones. Today it could also mean you have myxperia security activated. If you have log out of that and try again.
Oh and do not activate it after unlocking bootloader, you could brick your device for good!

Make sure you don't have the xperia security software enabled (the find my iPhone equivalent)
It prevents the bootloader from being unlocked. Otherwise it means your carrier disabled the feature
Thanks diemadedrei and ChrisJ951.
It worked, it was the Xperia Security software that was enabled.
Rooting status: unknown
Hello, i tried to unlock my BL from the sony website, but after i flashed the code in my phone, it just restored and now just says rooting status: unknown and also the option of unlock allowed does not even appear! anybody could please help me?
thanks and hello from Mexico!
The z3+ is now selectable on the unlock page officially
@bryantronics: it should say bootloader unlocked yes under rooting status. Generally it should have worked if everything went as described.

Thanks to all, I have tried to change it to "YES" 24 hours
OK so with this recent tidbit of data that a bootloader unlock no could become a yes I am concerned. When I bought the phone it said yes. But no where can I figure out if the DRM keys are a)original b)intact c) working with this present rom. Could anyone tell me so I can be sure that if I resell this item I don't misrepresent this information.
haist i have a same problem for that issue ...until now i can not flash boot img...please resolve this problem...guys plssssss......
i have the same problem i cant flash img due to remoted lock state: unlocked
any updates?
I am suffering the same problems as my colleagues in the previous posts. I cannot get the bootloader unlock, no matter how hard I try:
performed the official Sony way (using minimal adb and fastboot; phone is listed in fastboot devices; "remote: command not allowed")
flashtool64: both with blu manually and by leaving the text file in the registered devices folder (which was found and used for a unlock, which turned out not to be successful).
Sony MyDevices is not activated. Android 5.0.2 (E6533; 28 0 A 8 272 HK)
Do you have any further tips how to open the bootloader?
thx, Benedikt

Around last week when I first got my carrier locked Xperia PLAY, I purchased a network unlock code which I was able to unlock it with. So, then I flashed it with the UK Generic .184 FTF file with FlashTool to get rid of all the junk that my carrier included with it and rooted it using the GingerBreak APK.
Now, my question is, since I've network unlocked my PLAY, completely debranded it and rooted it, would I be able to unlock my bootloader now? From what I've read, since my device was originally locked from my carrier, that it never had Fastboot installed on it, which is needed to unlock my bootloader. But I also read that being able to unlock the bootloader on my Xperia PLAY shouldn't even matter because it's already set to S=OFF. Could someone please enlighten me on this?
You can't unlock your bootloader with the current method, it depends on two things: can your phone connect with fastboot when in bootloader mode AND is your IMEI number registered with SE to get the required unlockcode.
No you can only unlock GSM phones ie sim fee none network locked ones, unlocking the sim carrier wont count sadly

Yes, I went to their How-To page on the SE Developer's site and was able to get an unlock code by providing my IMEI and other info. When I try to detect it with Fastboot and my PLAY in bootloader mode, Fastboot just hangs at <waiting for device>.

Cool, thanks for confirming that!
But does it even matter if I'm able to unlock my bootloader? Because I've read somewhere that the PLAY's are set to S=OFF.
From my understanding an unlocked bootloader is necessary for costum roms, if you're content with root and themes unlocking the bootloader won't be that important to you I guess.
I'm pretty content with being able to install custom themes with it only rooted. But I want to be able to overclock it, and that involves flashing a custom kernel to be able to do so, correct?

afraid so (as it stands atm) there probably will be a way to flash without an unlock at some point though.

Description:
Regarding OllieD thread (available in Credits) he found that bootloader have several references in persistent partition which was correct. I was trying to continue his research and I found that before unlock and after unlock some partitions not included in KDZ files are modificated by unlock.bin key.
This partitions are: cust, drm, misc, modemst1, modemst2, mpt, persistent and sns. I knew that drm, modemst1, modemst2, mpt and sns partitions cannot be important in unlocking / locking process so I was able to check 3 partitions which was CUST, MISC and PERSISTENT.
This first contains informations about whole boot process like boot image, boot procedure and also information about bootloader state which is visible on the top of the screen while bootloader is unlocked.
Second partition is the most important - it contains DEVICE-ID needed to unlock device and real bootloader state which can be check using "fastboot getvar unlocked" and also used unlock.bin when bootloader is unlocked. There are some references between this partitions which check them both so this partitions MUST be flashed together.
Persistent partition contains procedure for unlocking bootloader (parse command to flash unlock.bin) so we dont need to flash it - but if you want, you can
Result of relock:
- "Bootloader Unlocked!" message disappear while booting. (CONFIRMED)
- "fastboot getvar unlocked" returns "no" (CONFIRMED)
Requirements:
- ADB and FASTBOOT
- ADB Driver installed
- LGUP (which can be downloaded from here)
- LG_ROOT (which can be downloaded from here)
After relock, you can use the same Unlock Key which was used to unlock bootloader for the first time (this one from official LG Bootloader Unlock Site)

Yes, but you don't need to.
I had bootloader unlocked, and LG repaired it under warranty
Just place LG G4 motherboard to your cooker, 200 celsius degrees for 10 minutes and device is broken forever without any traces - send it to them, tell "i dont know what's happened - just bootlooped and now died" - and voilÃ*. They replaced motherboard and after 2-3 days, i got my LG working without any bootloop (and with locked bootloader). And of course for free :highfive:
So, I've just extracted all partitions "BEFORE" unlocking bootloader, then i unlocked it, again extracted all partitions to make a HEX compare, and that's it - just flash important (2 or 3) partitions from state BEFORE bootloader was unlocked and wow - relocked, unlocked, again relocked, unlocked - no crash, no brick, working as hell.
And as I wrote:

There is no information while booting about unlocked bootloader, and also fastboot command "getvar unlocked" returns "no" - so official command to check bootloader state returns that bootloader is locked. I don't know is there any other method of checking bootloader state but it seems to be fully locked.
The biggest problem for me is 1 of this important partitions - becouse, what if this partition contains DEVICE-ID needed to unlock bootloader. If you relock it using my method, probably your phone will get DEVICE-ID of my phone - which can be easly detected by LG Support. I need to check some things before I make this release.
Well, one option would be to create a script for those that did not unlock yet, so they save the 3 partitions and then they can happily unlock, knowing that they can relock. What do you say about this as a partial solution, if some device dependent information is stored in those partitions.?

First partition store data which customize boot screen (like boot logo, information about bootloader lock state, etc). Second partition store bootloader extra configuration like used unlock key, real unlock state. Third partition is unknown for me at this moment. For sure, people with locked bootloader will have the most secure way to relock it after unlock - just using their own partitions dump - not shared and published for all. If second partition does not contain informations about DEVICE_ID, there wiil be only one simply method to relock bootloader again.
Locked bootloader for 1,5 years, so this will be huge for me, finally unlocking the bootloader and back again in case of something happens! Great....

All the people are worried about warranty in case of a bootloop. How would you revert the 3 partitions content when the phone is bootlooping and you have access only to send_command.exe?
Oh, while my G4 is still in the owen now, I'm reading this thread H815 506 bootlooped this April. Warranty repair rejected. Worked with big-core disable tool for 6 months, until it finally died today.
Ok, if it is not finally dead after baking in the owen, then I will try to lock again and give it to the repair
Now I'm just waiting for proper LG G5 Port until Nougat is released [emoji14]

Maybe you can flash the kdz that disables the big cores and then you have a properly working phone, where you can do anything you like, such as relocking the bootloader...

You can import partition files to sdcard and flash it via send_command - and bootloader will be locked.

I've bought mine in Poland. Unfortunately sent to repair with "Bootloader Unlocked" message on, just read several forums (including forum.android.com.pl) and some ppl shared positive experience of the unlocked phone to be fixed. Not sure if I can apply for the second time, may-be they've marked it as an unlocked somewhere in the database. Anyway I need to cross the UA/PL border twice to do it.
After baking method, my phone is on, but switching 4 small CPUs on - makes it supper laggy & unresponsive, however it does not go into bootloop mode
When are you going to post instructions?

Another question. My phone is showing up "Bootloader unlock allowed: No" in the Service Menu. I've already turn on "OEM unlocking" and "USB debugging" (
authorized, and confirmed all the necessary drivers were installed).
The "Unlock your boot loader" site is saying that "It will only be possible to unlock the boot loader for certain releases." Does that means I should flash another firmware with differnt region or Android version? I've already tried to downgrade my phone to MM again, however the issue still exists. Thanks.
P.s. I am able to get the unlock code from the "Unlock your boot loader" site.

If your phone says that is is NOT allowed... sorry, but it is not possible.
Even though Sony is happy for us to unlock the bootloader, if the carrier/operator (verizon, o2, virgin, etc) wants - these companies can ask Sony to stop the bootloader from being unlocked.
Sim lock is one thing... at least that can be removed. I have no idea why they would choose to prevent the bootloader from being unlocked.
Actually, maybe because in some countries the consumer laws are very good, so even if you root or something, your warranty still exists.
But if you cannot unlock the bl -> you can't root -> less device problems/bricks -> less money on repairs for the phone operator? (just an idea)
The first (used) Xperia X Compact I bought, it was carrier branded, and the bootloader was unable to be unlocked.
I talked to the shop owner, I chose the other device in stock, it was unbranded, I could unlock it

Agree. I'm planning to switch to Red Magic 3 because there really is no sign of development on this device.

Yeah. I don't how can we encourage dev to look into this device, their are many users of this phone that wants to have twrp and root. Also this device is very powerful.

Black Shark is independent of Xiaomi when it comes to the software development. Their team just have to release the kernel source then that's when the real thing starts. Sadly though, the Black Shark team is very lousy and their support is very poor so let's just expect that this device will get stuck to Android Pie, like what happened to Black Shark 1 which development is "dead".
Hello,
I have a brand new TA-1116, on Android One 10.
Of course i'd love to unlock bootloader, install TWRP and root it.
It's unclear for me what i should do:
1) downgrade to DRG237B firmware (Anyone can confirm my TA1116 can use this downgrade without risk ?) to go to Orea 8.1
2) order an unlock code (where, please ? i found unlocklocks.com but i don't see the price).
3) go into dev mode to toggle unlock bootloader (mandatory ?)
4) fastboot flash unlock <my_unlock_file>
5) install TWRP fastboot flash recovery <twrp latest>
6) flash magisk from twrp for systemless root
Any advice is welcome
If you can root without Magisk, i'd like too. I need to run titanium backup and get rid of that BABE app (??? wtf Nokia ???) and more apps i don't need.
Thank you VM !
Answer: the downgrade is not possible without unlocked BL.
The unlock service does not need to go back to 07/2018, it is a matter of minutes and everything is left unlocked. Yay !

Hello,
I am very happy when seeing this post. Can you help me to unlock bootloader & root for the Nokia 6.1 plus TA-1116.
My last security patch is 2020-07
Thanks,
Bootloader unlock isn't officially or in a free manner supported, it's a paid service, join the telegram community for the device there are bl unlockers for different time zones contact anyone with your timezone for the service it's approx $6-7
Do not hover over random sites there's been only one site from the beginning that I can't mention here, bootloader unlock and other services, get this job done over telegram and save yourself the hassle.
