Samsung Galaxy S4 Unlock - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Att with Android 5.0.1. I requested unlock code from att and the code they gave me is not working.
Can some one help me with unlocking the device.
Thanks,
Sravan.

I haven't seen anything about unlocking an S4 running 5.0.1, but you can flash the phone back to nb1 base and unlock it. Then when you flash back to 5.0.1 the unlock should stick. See this thread on unlocking, for instance. See this or this for flashing back to 5.0.1.
Disclaimer: I do not own an S4 so can not test this.
You may be able to find more information in the forum here if you search.

First of all I can't believe AT&T actually gave you an unlock code that's amazing the best bet to sim unlock your phone is to downgrade your modem then use region lock away then upgrade your modem again then boomshockalocka you will have a sim unlocked device

Rooted s5- unlocking ?

Hi,
I just got Galaxy S5 900F locked to vodafone uk. I found a tutorial called UNLOCK, flash and root your s5 4.4.2. It was actually comming from this website. I rooted it but it is still locked. I think rooting didn't really unlock my phone(as tutorial said) as it wants me to type the sim code in. Is there any way to unlock it free? If it isn't whats the cheappest way? Thanks

Question about S5 (T-mobile) and unlocking sim/bootloader/running cm12

First off, sorry for the confusing thread title.
I'm currently running an AT&T Note 3 which has a locked bootloader and I've wanted to run CyanogenMod for a while now. I've ordered a second hand T-Mobile Galaxy S5 because I've heard the bootloader is unlocked and/or unlockable.
Can anyone here clarify how the sim lock/carrier lock works?
Will this require me to purchase an unlock code or will flashing the bootloader and custom firmware automatically unlock the sim? From my research I've read that I still need to unlock the sim, but I've also read that using a different bootloader can unlock it. Kind of confusing.

Another unlock question

I have a Sprint S4 SPL-L720 rooted originally was L720VPUFNG2 modem. flashed Stock L720VPUAMDC I have tried several methods to unlock this phone for T-Mobile US sim with no luck .Has anyone got a proven unlock for my given situation. I'm not running CWM's or Cyonide Hope I can get something current to help me unlock this phone

S4 Sim Unlock Code

Hi. I'm trying to unlock my S4 to use another sim. It's locked to EE. It's now been 2 years so I've got the S6 today. Giving the S4 to my partner.
I tried the *#0011# method. Can't get to the UMTS menu. Tried the Region Unlocker App without success. I tried downloading a random 4.2.2 ROM from the development section to access the Service Menu and I'm now stuck in a boot loop. I used to have 4.4.2 installed.
Please help?
Unlocking only works on stock ROMs. If you downloaded a Jellybean ROM from the development section, you're doing it wrong.
While the unlock methods used here do work if the directions are followed correctly, there's no guarantee the unlock will be retained with ROM updates or baseband changes. You're better off asking EE for an unlock code, or buying an unlock code. Unlike the unlock methods here, once that code is input, it unlock the device for good.
Questions belong in Q&A, not General.
Thank you.

Sim unlock rooted Galaxy s4

I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 i337m Canadian locked to Bell. Is there something I can do on this rooted device to sim unlock it?
There is an entire thread on SIM unlocking in General. Two methods are described there, but if neither appeals to you, there is always paying for the unlock code.
