Hey everyone,
I have an LG G2 D802T model, and the touchscreen is malfunctioning after the Lollipop update. I've updated it from LGFlashTool, a KDZ for these models and variants but I've mistakenly selected Europe and Turkish language from the options window that appeared during the flashing progress. I've read at some forums that it should've been South Korea and Korean as the option showed at that window.
The identical issues are :
-When I want to touch the middle of the screen for example, the screen gets and shows it as I'm pressing to bottom of the screen or left side or right side, it just vary.
-Can't get into any section because the screen does not read my fingerprints properly.
-Can't use the phone at all.
So I wonder if that wrong flashing could've caused the problem? I've also had a Samsung brand USB cable and had the process with it (not original LG cable because I did not have it). I've read that wrong cables may cause this problem too, but I've tried to rub the screen with a soft cloth and did not work.
This happened after trying to fix the GPS lock issues by opening the back case, and putting some little papers under some kind of plugs as can be seen on youtube video, but after some restarts everything about touchscreen was fine! Just the GPS was not working properly.
So I've decided to try the Lollipop, maybe it could have a fix for the GPS issues and after flashing the ROM (stock), the screen is kinda dead.
Any helps or ideas will be greatly appreciated!
P.S : I can get into download mode, phone is booting so do I still have a chance?
Thanks in advance.

hello people, I lve had my nexus 4 for a while now, never experienced any problems with it on 4.3 neither with 4.4.2, just the overheath thing when browsing websites and such, but recently ive been getting this unresponsive touch in the middle that's not letting me send messages or organize the apps on my main page, I'll explain a little below.
When I slide my finger from top to bottom, just in the middle of the screen my touch seem to go slower and then it like makes a jump and won't recognize the touch in one part, that happens all along the middle of the screen is not just a blind spot, when I write a message and try to send it with the keyboard open, it won't let me touch the "send" bottom I have to minimize the keyboard to be able to send it because the bottom is just in the area where my touchscreen is not working correctly.
I downloaded multi touch tester to verify my touches and I found out that if I make a touch in the middle where I have my issue, the multi touch is recognizing 2 touches at the same time, I'll upload the picture to show how is it recognizing my touches in that specific area.
I'm actually using stock nexus 4 with stock KitKat 4.4.2, I haven't root or anything ever, is the first time I have issues with this phone in the touchscreen, I've also been experiencing some touchscreen freeze where I can't touch anything because it won't work and I have to lock screen and unlock it again for it to start working again.
what I have already done?
I have restart my.phone a couple of time and won't work
i have factory reset it and won't work
I have full charge it with USB and laptop and won't work
and that's about it, I'm sure is a software issues because my phone hasn't drop or anything it just started random and sometimes the phone start to work correctly with no issues but most of the time its not working properly and is frustrating.
PD: sorry for my bad English, not native speaker.
well is not letting me post pictures cus I'm new.

I am facing the same problem. You got any fix for this? Please help....
If you've already did a factory reset I doubt it's a software issue. However you can use one of the guides here explaining how to flash a clean stock factory image. This is the last solution that will eliminate any software sided failure.

I am also facing the exact same problem for the past two days, My phone is in perfect condition, not dropped or anything like that.
I think I did some google play updates which where pending for long time.... Do not know what is causing this.
Anyway have started to uninstall the app updates manually, lets see.
A flashing will rule out all software issues. Check whether the touchscreen is working. Enable developer options, then select "Show pointer touches" and the other one just below it (too lazy to check up and tell you what it is; pardon me )
If you're getting normal touch response over the entire screen, then you're facing a software issue. Anything else implies a hardware issue; this may or may not fix itself (somehow; gremlins.)
In either case, let us know what happens. Cheers!
i am having exact same issue ...pls post if anyone has a fix

I'm having the exact same issue & tried what you just said. Unfortunately, I'm not getting touch response in one center row of the screen, for that entire row, no resppnse at all.
Is this the problem with touch screen?

Say goodbye to that display. I have to get my display replaced too (clumsy fingers grumblegrumble) and the LG guys say the display unit costs 3750 rupees to replace... Get it done ASAP.
Greetings!
If it is a software issue try re-flashing the stock factory image might as well work

Hey all. My G2 was hard bricked to a point where it didn't even turn on, but with aftabalam8c2's help I could get it to a state where I could flash the phone. I flashed it with a 10b tot image, but after flashing I instantly noticed that the screen has many problems: sometimes it doesn't respond and there are random ghost touches all the time, even when I don't touch the screen. I double checked all connections, made a factory reset, flashed a 20h kdz image and updated touch screen software, but nothing helped.
A week before the brick, I had changed the screen, but everything was working perfectly until the bricking.
I am quite desperate, because the phone is completely unusable right now and I don't know what else to do.
You can see a video of the screen problems here.
Update: I noticed that when I put pressure on a specific point on the left bottom corner of the screen, the screen works normally. Might this hint that the screen is faulty?
Bump. Any help or tips are welcome.
I had ghost touches right after I bought my G2. I tried everything, change rom, kernel, firmware, flash via kdz, everything. I bricked my phone trying to fix my problem and I send it to LG (warranty) . They replace my motherboard and send phone to me. After I turn on g2 problem was back after 20 mins, so I send it again and then they replace my all screen too.
Since then (3 months ago) everything is perfect so I guess you should fix your screen/digitizer.
Thank you for the tip. I was already thinking it might be the screen, although it worked perfectly before I bricked the phone. Sadly I don't have a replacement screen at hand, but I sent a message to the screen seller, asking for a replacement. Now I just have to wait and see.
Interesting is that my phone was off for a few days and now, after turning it back on, the ghosting is almost gone, but some spots on the screen are unresponsive or oversensitive.
Edit: I made a touch test and found out that there are two large dead zones on the screen. I guess the problem really is in the screen then.
Funny thing is this that I haven't had any dead zone just ghost touches

Hello,
I'm using F320S variant of LG G2. I have a habit of trying new ROMS because i love to try them and find a better option. but something went wrong. I tried resurrection remix (5.4.6 version) to check if it now detects SD card or not. Sadly It didn't. then I reflashed cloudy g2 3.0 ROM but now I find my touch screen unresponsive in certain area. rest is working flawlessly. you can say 1cm square of top left 1/3rd and 1cm square top right 1/3ed doesn't register my touch anymore. rest of the screen is working fine. sometimes whole screen register touches automatically. Now i flashed lollipop kdz using flash tool (hoping it fixes issue) but still that area is unresponsive. double tap to sleep works fine but double tap to wake sometimes work and sometimes not. Anyone who can help me about this issue?
Note: btw i have tried that hidden menu touch firmware upgrade but it doesn't fixes my problem. Help Plz.
Thanks
Hello,
Yesterday my rooted LG v20 h990ds got a kernel crash (green screen). I pulled the battery and after that I noticed no difference.
Today I woke up and noticed that the phone was really slow. Somehow the touchscreen was not always responsive so I had to lock and unlock it again.
I couldn't figure out what it was and I thought that maybe it was caused by the root. So I did a factory reset and went back to stock (LGUP). Unfortunately the problem is still there. Does anybody know what it is? Could it be a hardware defective?
Thanks in advance!
edit:
After a few tests it seems to be the digitizer. I've installed an app to test the digitizer.
Sometimes the screen sees a short touch as a long touch. That's why it opens extra options when I try to type a letter.
I've opened up the phone to see if there was any moisture damage visible, fortunately that was not the case.
Is it still possible that this is a software problem? Or do I have to buy a new screen?
edit 2:
The phone is functioning normally again. I disconnected the screen cable and plugged it back in again. Probably it was a loose contact.

I've had a VS995 for about two months. One of the first things I did when I got it was root(dirty santa) and install custom firmware. After doing this I noticed that watching any type of video on the phone would lag extremly bad (<10 fps), unless I held my finger on the screen, and I would get different screen glitches (turn black, turn all static, half and half, etc). I then decided to go back to stock so I flashed a stock KDZ with lgup. This didn't fix the problem. After several weeks of putting up with it, It's gotten to the point where the phone is unusable. It freezes constantly. To get the screen to unfreeze I have to lock then unlock the screen, and half the time it freezes again instantly. Attempting to watch a video (or even a GIF) stutters and chokes after 1-2s and turns the whole screen into static.
At first I was thinking something might be corrupted so today I re-rooted but once I tried to get into twrp the screen kept turning to static. So I flashed back to stock KDZ with no change in performance. Also I can not boot into recovery or fastboot, I've tried several times. Does KDZ upgrade also flash the bootloader?
I'm starting to think it might be something bad on the main board, has anyone ever reflowed one?
I bought the phone used online and it only came with a 30 day warrenty, so no luck there.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Yes upgrade in lgup flashes EVERYthing, bootloader, modem, recovery, even the download mode partition. Have to use partition dl mode to be picky (needs the modified lg up files from the mismatched variant thread). The static screen sounds like you need a custom kernel or a new twrp, depending on where its occuring (its related to the dirtysanta bootloader and theres workarounds to fix it builtinto custom kernels and recent twrp)
It's prolly water damage. My V20 was doing exactly the same thing after rooting. I opened the phone and noticed the LCD plug to the Mobo had corrosion on it, I unplugged the LCD from the Mobo and got a clean cheap brand new toothbrush and gently brushed and blew debris off then followed with cleaning with a ear Qtip with a bit of alcohol. Check the seal around the LCD and make sure any gaps are closed with slices of clear tape. I don't know how rooting messed up my phone, it's something strange with resetting the phone, the glitches kicked in from the corrosion on the gold parts. After my first boot from cleaning, my phone was totally normal again. A month later I got screen retention..... Lol but that's a whole other Obvious story everybody shares and knows about lol. I hope you get your situation solved.
