Hey, I have the N9005 and I'm on a custom rom running lollipop with touchwiz. Is it better if I downgraded to KitKat with touchwiz, but custom rom? Because I feel Lollipop UI is messed up and performance and battery life was better on KitKat... Thanks!
If you ask you have already the solution. ....you haven't find a good l rom?????
Downgrade to gingerbread
I don't feel that Lollipop is messed up, and I also know that the battery life is actually better in LP than it ever was on KK, so rather than be a sarcastic arse I would simply suggest to stay on stock LP based ROMs.
Try this
Make a backup of your current ROM.
Try a CyanogenMod 12.1(Android 5.1.1) ROM of N9005 for about a week.
If it suits your needs keep it.
If not you have your backup.
Have fun!
Edit: for me lollipop is better than kitkat in terms of battery life for both the galaxy note 4 and galaxy s5

Hello.
It's the fist time I'm gonna flash a modded Rom cause after a year the phone its staring to do weird things. I'm still at 4.3 Jellybean.
My phone is rooted with stock TouchWiz.
The less wissles and options the better. I don't use the S-pen and would like to have a simple and battery friendly Rom with a good camera app.
Also I'm worry for the sdcard problems i read everywhere and stability.
I guess a Rom with 4.4.4 is better than 4.4.2 but in this so not sure.
What Rom do you recommend?
Thank you!
first you need to choice if you want TW or CM rom...
if TW you need to upgrade bootloader and flash stock KK rom and root and flash custom...
if CM11 no need to upgrade KK and you can flash what you want
for CM12 you need KK bootloader too
Thank you for quick answer.
I read that Cyanogenmod Roms are not optimized and made for Note 3.
Is there a Rom made specifically for N9005 with the features I posted?
1. Go to the Note 3 Android development subforum.
2. Read about the different ROMs.
3. Decide which one you want to try.
4. Flash it.
5. Repeat as necessary.
There are no short cuts. Do the research yourself, only you know if you'll be happy with your choice.
Ok thank you.
Will all the Kitkat based Roms have issues with the Sdcard I read I forums?
I recommend to you the rom which made by Alexander.. And omega rom as a second choice.. Good luck

please, i have this rom
[ROM][N9005] Galaxy S5 Stock ROM - Final v40.0 - Clean, Fast and Stable - [OTA]
have i already in kk bootloader? or not sure? how can i check?
thanks
I'm trying to find Alexander Rom you suggested but i cant find it in the forum. (I'm new with all this about roms).
What is the name of Alexander's Rom?
Well you can use stock ROM, and uninstall all the nonsense apps with any root supported uninstall app, but you still will be forced to have those S related features, S-Scroll, S-Stay and all those nonsense features (which I never have used, ever). Now if you AOSP way then you won't have all those things and you will have a clean ROM but you will miss the lovely S-Pen integration of TouchWiz based ROMs.
So you have to decide according to your preference. I don't believe that AOSP/CM based ROMs are 100% bug free for Note 3, but please correct me if I am wrong. I am an AOSP lover too.
And I also don't believe 4.4.4 has much advantage over 4.4.2 other than some security patches.

I've used custom roms before but not that they are not necessarily more suitable.
I had an s2 that I tried a few roms on and settle with Omega which was a major improvement over the stock ROM.
I how have an s4 (i9500) that was acting up. I rooted it when I first got it with ODIN and have recovering already set up. A while ago I upgraded it to 4.4.2 and now want to try 5.1.1
After some trial and error I managed to get a 5.0.1 rom on my phone and I like it a lot better than 4.2.2 from what little I've used it. I'm thinking that it would make more sense to go with something 5.1.1 flavoured though. I'm not really sure which roms I should try though. I care most about stability, battery and responsiveness, especially the camera. What bothered me most about my phone is how long the camera would take to start up. That and my phone started shutting itself off every so often.
I know of cyanogenmod 12.1 and heard of paranoidandroid. What are the top roms I should consider. I've look through the threads here but it is a bit overwhelming in terms of choice, feature and volume of comments to suddenly jump into.
I've been flashing away... on my phone
Resurrection Remix LP v5.5.8
Blisspop 5.1.1
cyanogenmod 12.1
crDroid 5.1.1
I've found that 5.1.1 is really ugly and that these roms all look pretty similar- uly top bar and ugly icons
I tried LL V2.0 (5.0.x Lollipop) and I like it way more than 4.4.2
[WORKING sheard romv1.5]
I wish I could find a 5.1.1 rom that looks like 5.0.1
This is of course based on the assumption the 5.1.1 is better than 5.0.x in terms of stability and battery life.
What should I do? stick with LL V2.0 or can I get something that looks the same with a 5.1.1 core?
Hi to all
So, I've a question for you: now I'm on stock firmware 5.0, because the roms based on MM aren't very stable. Only the AOSP roms seem to be quite stable, but there is something that makes me go back to stock firmware.
So, better stay on 5.0 stock or flash an AOSP rom based on MM? (I tried some rom based on stock MM firmware but there are a lot of bugs)
Phronesis 6.4. MM looks. 5.1 stability!
Are we in a kindergarten here ?

Hey guys
I want to ask you a few things, i have installed a 6.0.1 custom rom on my J500M, too nice but yesterday a picked up the J5 of a friend and it has 5.1.1 and it was "faster" that my installed custom rom.
The question is that what do you prefer
5.1.1 or 6.0.1??
Wich is faster??
What do you thing
I have J500FN. It doesn't have MM update and I won't use MM even if it would have because I don't need to change from 5.1.1.
If features from latest version can be achieved on previous one, then I don't see a point in upgrading as long as you're good with the actual version.
Performance of phone can be downgraded by using crap apps like Facebook, Messenger and so on. Also, Xposed can make the phone slow.
Latest android version doesn't mean always better.
My opinion.
Tnks, i´ll downgrade too lollipop, i decided because MM isn´t the best friend of tocuhwiz, i prefer lollipop touchwiz rom
I upgraded my J500H to 6.0.1. And after few days of use I downgraded back to 5.1.1. There isn't much new things in 6.0.1 and I felt that my device is faster in 5.1.1. So prefer 5.1.1 & again this is my personal view others may disagree with me.
Marshmallow has heating problem ...so I had to downgrade to lollipop after using it ...but I am sure that battery life of marshmallow is way better than lollipop
no heating issue whatsoever , great battery life . security updates to keep malware away. what else could you wish for
Hello Friends...
I have a s4 i9505 and am not new to samsung as i already own a i9301I....
I want to ask which one is the most stable rom of all for the i9505...
I dont want any noughat rom..
Just A Simple stock modified or some Marshmallow with the latest feature...
Already seen many Roms on the youtube. some are s7 roms and some n5 etc.
Any suggestion for a rom that is smooth as well as Battery Friendly!!
Thanks.
The S4 never got a stock Marshmallow update. So you're stuck with Lollipop ROMs that look a bit like the S6 or not.

I am currently on the stock 4.4.2 and want to switch to a rom that doesnot loose the stock features and i am also not been able to update to 5.0... so now i will try and root my device and then try any stock modified roms...
if u have any suggestions then u r welcome to tell!!!
but the one with the best batterylife will b much appreciated!!
While I don't generally reply to "best ROM" posts, I can tell you that all the stock-based ROMs with I believe the exception of Imperium ROM are no longer supported. Since I'm not interested in keeping my S4 up to date thanks to having a newer device I threw Thor 1.5 (Android 5.0.1) on it and put it away. For a Touchwiz ROM it isn't too bad.
Then go to goldfinger custom ROM as a 4.4.2 kk.
