Note 4 + Glamour Rom vs G4 questions - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have the M9 and like so far but I can't but wanting a big screen like Note 4 and G4.
Since the G4 is not properly rooted and have nearly non existent roms, I throw an eye to the Note 4/Edge.
I am not a fan of stock Note 4 TW but more into S6 one, Glamour Rom looks like it's a port of S6 UI into the Note 4.
Here are my questions:
-Is this rom improving UI speed?
-Do you still have lags?
-Is it enhancing the camera?
How can you compare the Note 4 + S6 port Camera to G4?

1) I personally haven't noticed any differences in terms of performance compared to the stock rom, but I am a light to medium user (occasional gaming, but mostly call features).
2) Yes. There will always be lag in all roms since no roms are perfect. I experienced few hiccups and restart solved the lag issue.
3) Stock rom performs better when it comes to camera. Samsung optimized its driver for the camera pretty well, however the stock rom doesn't contain RAW support.
Compared to the G4, Note 4's camera performs better according to several sources: Phonearena, DxOMark, and Sofica.

Keep my htc m8 or buy Note 4?

hi guys, i am a happy owner of a htc one m8, the device is the fastest i've used and UI is a lot smooth. i also loved note 4 when i played with it in a samsung store. But i have some concerns about this device.
1-how is the UI performance in day to day use? in my m8 the UI is fast, no lag at all, but i know TW is heavy and i am a bit worried. mainly because i saw this video from flossy carter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdYuj2NSZZ0#t=851 . in 14:11 the device completely crash.
2-here in Brazil i just have the option to buy exynos version SM-N910C. is not clear anywhere what is dac it is using and if camera sensor is sony or samsung isocell, and which one is better.
3-how loud do you guys can record video without distortion? my other previous devices everytime i am with a place with high volume sound the audio distorts with bass, but with my m8 is clear, also iphones and some lumias don't have this problem. does note 4 have this problem?
4-how speaker audio compares to htc m8?
5- how is the battery life? it can reach 8 hours of screen on time with continuous usage?
6-how is the outdoor visibility?
is a lot of questions because i like my m8, and don't want to regret if i buy note 4. thanks.

I was an M8 user for quite some time before getting Note 4 and I'm pretty sure I can answer all of your questions:
1. M8's peformance is definitely smoother than N4's. Not that you'll notice daily lag or something, but TouchWiz is just so much heavier than Sense that the hiccups always come out in different parts of the UI.
2. I own an N910C as well and I am pretty sure it use Samsung's ISOCELL camera. Is it better than the Sony one found in Exynos? No idea. As far as the camera quality goes compared to M8, it's pretty much the same: selfies and normals are amazing and they look even better on the amazing QHD display, but M8's HDR and low light performance beats N4.
3. Never really had any problems with audio distortion on videos but I'm pretty sure with the additional microphones Samsung has put in, it should be a pleasant experience.
4. Nobody can beat M8's boom speakers at the moment in the market. N4's speaker is obviously nowhere better than stereo speakers of M8, but it's not too bad either.
5. 8 hours of screen on ? Whoaaa, dream on! Every N4 user has difference battery performance from what I saw on the forums, but I can assure you around 3-4 hrs of SoT. Fast Charging kinda makes up for that.
6. Since N4 has an AMOLED display, it always struggles in daylight visibility. However it is better than any other AMOLED display before and while it might not be better than M8's, it's still not gonna cause you a lot of problems in direct sunlight.

Hello
I went from the M8 to the Note 4, and while I don't regret my decision, the M8 in its own right is an amazing device and does trump the Note 4 in a few areas. My advice to you is stick with what you have, it's already a great device and you could swap it with an S6 or M9 down the line.
M8 would be smoother with the UI. I have a note 4, it's brilliant. It's really just an all-rounder. But ultimately what made me choose it over getting an M8 was my need for the s-pen. I'm a digital artist, and I use sketchbook pro on my note 10.1, and using dropsync I can now sync my projects between both devices... I'm super happy with this. Again, I would have probably bought the M8, or Z3 cause of the smoother UI if I didn't need the stylus. Enjoy your phone sir, it's one of the best out there

[Q] going to buy note 3. need honest answer?

hi all. i am going to buy a new phone i only have two options.. Either galaxy note 3 or galaxy s5. which phone should i buy??
My only preference is great camera and loud sound... so please tell me which is better s5 or note 3??
You should get a hold of one before thinking of buying it because, it is a big phone compared to the S5. I've upgraded from a Galaxy Alpha to the Note 3 and wow that thing was huge...
Also, fingerprint scanner might be a thing that you want to look into.
As far as camera and soundwise, the Note 3 hasn't ceased to amaze me with the sound quality and loudness when using earphones, this coming from a person who has enjoyed the iPhone's DAC extra loudness.
And the camera is just amazing, really great camera performance on the Note 3. You do have more pixels on the S5 but... yeah, from my experience, nothing to point out.
Ok i bought n9005 used and i m too happy. . Its an excellent device great battery great camera

Q/Samsung Galaxy Note 3//Replace Camera Sensor w/ S6, Note 4 or LG G4's Sensor + OIS

Hi, everyone.
The Note 3's camera is fine, everybody knows.
Even the Note 2's Camera is still OK for today.
Before reading my question (which is already mentioned in title),
Please don't blame me for that question.
There are so many people in the world, so maybe one of them asks for a Guide, which might is senseless for you, so don't blame me for that.

You know, i like the Galaxy Note 3, because it's one of the three Jelly Bean Flagship-Smartphones in the World with 4K-Video and Smooth Motion Recording and still suitable for today.
Galaxy Note 3 (Jelly Bean+TouchWiz UI)
Oppo Find 7 (HD Image; 1440p Screen; Ultra-Fast Charging)
Oppo Find 7a (No KitKat-Upgrade)
Why i don't like the newer Android-Versions:
Android KitKat: Very Bogus (Data-Loss Bug, deletion of app data at app uninstallation or deinstallation. Many Software Bugs + restriction etc. )
Android Lollipop: Ugly User Interface - and you can't set the UI Back.
I'm very satisfied with the Note 3's Camera, but i think, that every phone needs an OIS today, for Compensation of the bad low-light performance. Especially those 20.7 Megapixel Phones like HTC One M9.
The Note 3's low-light performance is bad because:
Small Pixels (not as small as Xperia Z) on Camera Sensor
No Optical Image Stabilisation
Three Phones with Brilliant Cameras are:
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (It's a Note Smartphone)
Samsung Galaxy S6 (High Colour Quality)
LG G4 (my favourite Phone Camera) (Best Dynamic Range+Focus Speed)
So is there a way, to replace the Note 3's Camera Sensor with the Sensor of one of those 3 Phones? (Preferred: LG G4)
You can't build Laser-AF into the Note 3 so easily, but i just like to get the Sensor and the OIS into it, to make the Low-Light Performance better.
Camera-app:
I'd like to keep the Native Camera-App UI from the Galaxy Note 3 (as known from the S4-Models), but i'd like to have:
16 Megapixels in Resolution chooser
1440p Video Recording (FHD, Smooth Motion and 4K is already there)
If Possible: Real-Time Slow Motion (HFR)-Video Recording.

Old post so you may never see this but did you ever get an answer to your question?

Camera comparison vs S6

Hi all, I'm currently using a galaxy S5 and looking for an upgrade to either a Note 4 or S6. I don't really care much about any other things as the two are both very good phones, only camera. Spec wise they are not THAT different, just a better f/1.9 lens on the S6 compared to f/2.2 lens of the Note 4, other specs remain the same. So theoretically the images from the S6 should be a little bit better than the note 4 in extreme cases (very low light for instance), and generally the same for most situations. But somehow I've read reviews that put the Note 4's camera output to be a tad better than the S6 (gsmarena's review for example), and I just don't know why. Is there any reason behind that or something I missed? Thanks in advance!

Use Mobile DxOMark and find the S6/Note 4 and compare why one is better than the other hardware/software wise.
Gsmarena did do a blind test by readers and note 4 won, except for night shots
Sent from my Note 4 using Tapatalk
Both the same generally but S6 much better in low light.

S6 win.
/thread.

both of them taken by me
From what I have seen the Note 4 seems to have a much better camera. But that is due to the fact that the SGS6 uses either Samsung's own isocell or Sony's Xemar senor. Which is makes it a potshot as to which one of those you would get on your SGS6/S6Edge.

Redmi Note 4 first impressions

Have used the phone for a week now. My impressions so far:
- The build quality and overall design is great (especially the 2.5d glas). A huge improvement compared to Redmi Note 3.
- The quality of the volume and power buttons has also improve a lot compared to Redmi Note 3 Pro.
- Very fast and fluid experience in general. Similar to Redmi Note 3. Pro.
- Battery life is slightly worse compared to Redmi Note 3 Pro but still good.
- Call quality is very good (in my experience slightly better compared to Redmi Note 3 Pro).
- Both the official global rom and china developer rom has some issues (battery drain, some lag etc). The weekly rom from xiaomi.eu is however great.
- The camera is very fast but the image quality is quite poor. I have compared photos from Note 4 with Nexus 6 and the Nexus is clearly superior across the board. I have to say that the camera performance is worse than expected, hopefully Xiaomi will optimize the camera software in the future.
