What is this? Negative questions month?
Am I ever going to win the lottery? Can anyone on this site predict or see the future? Did anyone see Towelroot coming? Kingo? KingRoot? Weren't people saying the same thing then?

DAMN!!...a simple yes or no would of been good...

I think people get tired of new threads being created for the same subject over and over...and over.

Or a search of the forum, or glancing at the forum subjects. There are many asking the same thing and all leading to no where. We are all waiting on the root for the Verizon Note 3 on lollipop, but continually posting in new strings the same question is becoming counter productive.

My apologies, just very frustrated with not having root...

The evo must have just been released today

Since the new ota root this forum is like it was a year ago...how do I tether, how do I root, whats a good rom, how do I flash, I think I bricked my phone, I'm stuck at bootloader..etc

Yup. That's pretty much in a nutshell how these things work around here. No sense in getting particularly agitated about it, if nothing else this may be a good chance to take a breather from the site for a bit while things settle down. At the very least just stick to the development forum to keep tabs on the latest roms and kernels.
What is root?
And why do I need it?

Even in the week leading up to the root being released I couldn't believe how many newbies we were getting in the forum. I guess they come in waves, and now that you can get the EVO free on contract I guess you'll just see more.

The fact that it is 99 dollars on contract brought a lot of new people to the phone.

I was curious too. I went to google images, typed in root, and the first image took me here. I'll leave it up to you to decide if you want root.

I'm returning the tablet since there isn't a working root method anymore.
They have something call safestrap for the locked vzw s4. I'm sure it can be ported over to the note if you get in contact with one of the devs working on it.

I reached out to a few developers and haven't heard back. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a dev that will take interest in our device. The biggest reason I want to root is to make all apps multiwindow without having to connect the tablet to the PC to modify APKs.

Thanks for being a smartass. If you read my post it clearly says WITH THE LATEST OTA UPDATE. I just purchased the tablet and it already has the latest OTA update installed.
If you're not interested in discussing the topic at hand, kindly piss off. Otherwise, please, cite your sources on how "using my computer for a few minutes" will root/unlock my note with the latest OTA update.

Hopefully, I'll be able to find someone/something that can at least get me root on this tablet. I really don't want to sell it, but, no root = no keep.

If all you really want is root access then it might be easier. Have u tried this yet? This is for at&t, there is one for vzw too. It's a risk since it's made for the s4 tho be warned.

Thanks for the heads-up. I just tried following the instructions in the thread and it gives me a "permission denied" error. I'm so desperate for root at this point :<

Running Tablet Apps

Is there a way to run tablet apps on a rooted Note 3? I saw a method a few weeks ago and tried that but ended up soft-bricking my phone. So I'm wondering if there's an easier way. I wouldn't think it'd be so complicated since the Note IS technically a mini-mini-tablet lol.

MK2 Update question

I haven't been able to find a straight forward answer to my question.
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 with MF3. This is how it was purchased and I then (only) rooted it.
Will I keep my root access if I take the now available MK2 OTA update and have enabled the SuperSU Pro OTA Survival mode option before I take the OTA?
With all due respect, I dont want to hear about custom roms, ODIN, or anything else that doesn't apply to my direct question.
Thanks!

I was in the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 section and clicked on the add thread button. This was all done using the xda premium ap. Perhaps its poorly designed.
Get a nexus or dont ***** about root and flame xda's app. Or perhaps just go get an iPhone and bother jailbreak nation or some other site.

You might have accidentally clicked something, point of the matter is its in the wrong section, mistakes happen, a simple "oh sorry didn't realize it!" would have sufficed.
As for your issue, I haven't seen any successful or failed update attempts with OTA survival enabled. If you do loose root, you can always simply re-root the firmware update.

The Nexus is as stupid as you are. Why would I ever want a device with no external data storage and a terrible camera? I wouldn't use that junk if it was given to me for free.

Um no it isnt. Not if your into developing and looking for a method to always have root and bootloader unlock, I love my GS4 but this locked bootloader **** is annoying. If we all were unlocked this phone would be hands down better than the nexus 5

[Q] root without trip knox

Hello, is it already possible to root without triggering Knox? Thanks
Don't you think if so, it would be all over this forum?

Because the interweb allows anonymity which further allows people to act with no repercussions.
It says something (negative) about their character though.

Also, we are all getting more than a little annoyed with yet another thread asking the same question. [emoji35]

its a time management thing.
Its faster to fire off a quick question then check back later than it is to search for a loaded term like "root" and "tripping knox" and then trawl through that for an accurate and recent answer.
incidentally, looking forward to someone figuring this out soon too... we had it briefly on the N3.
