Root n9005 lollipop 5.0 - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I would like to know how to root my note 3 just updated to 5.0. I m sorry I read the top message saying how to root, but this links to older android versions and I wouldn't like to end with a locked phone.
Knox is 0x0 but I don't really care as warranty is over. Keeping knox 0x0 would just be the cherry on top of the cake
AP : N9005XXUGBOF1
CP : N9005XXUGBOD1
CSC : N9005FTMGBOF1
Thanks

Anyone ? Sorry if it's a dumb question
Would cf autoroot works ?

1. You will have to try Cf-Auto-root and it should work ok.
2. You can't root it without active KNOX 0x1.

you can keep knox 0x0
here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/root-kitkat-lollipop-knox-0x0-t3075251
but no use when warranty is over

Thanks for your answers, I'll go the easy way with cf auto root. Also chainfire.eu site was stating cf auto root for 4.4 but i just checked and it's for 5.0 now, cool

It will definetely flagthe Knox counter to 0x1 if you are stock MJ7 with the new bootloader.

Since your phone come with MJ7 installed out of the box, meaning to say your phone comes with a new bootloader which will trip the knox counter to 0x1 if you ever try to root your Note 3.

f*cking new bootloader

Need NB8/9 Bootloader Knox 0x0 root

I am on MK9 4.3 with root and knox 0x0
Several posts:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50894257&postcount=3840
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583199
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50452568&postcount=1635
suggest it is possible to upgrade to 4.4 and keep root and knox 0x0 using mobile odin but I haven't been able to find any posts where this has been confirmed for the i9505.
My understanding is that if I have the NB8/9 rom and NB8/9 bootloader files separated I could perform this. Does anyone have these or has been able to do this successfully?

[Q] About kernel and ChainFire auto root

Hello
i have the SM-N910C running the official lollipop firmware,
days ago i've rooted it using CF auto root through the odin,
And it was successful, but the question is the CF auto root
replacing the stock Kernel to another one while flashing ?
cause when i reset flash counter using triangle away even without restarting the phone it still shows in triangle away:
counter: 1
Binary: custom
system: official
but in bootloader it says:
current binary: samsung official
system status: official
secure download : enabled
knox warranty void: 1
rp swrev: 1
and the reactivation lock is off in the settings and the bootloader
i just need the software updates after root
and resetting the flash counter to Zero
and to know the kernel is it stock or custom
anyone could help ?
and sorry for any bad english, thanks.

Hi, cf autoroot doesnt replace your kernel, so u should still have stock kernel.
and also as far as i know, triangle away doesnt work on note 4 ... so right now there is no way to reset the counter to zero.
and 1 more thing is you may have posted this question in the wrong thread, you should have posted it in the Q&A thread. ^^

Good luck trying to figure out how to reset that counter permanently - so far no one managed to find a way to do that since the introduction of KNOX back in 2013.

Got confused about Note 3 and Knox current situation

So guys, i got a little bit confused about knox 0x0 - 0x1 - root - custom roms etc.
I own a note 3, when it was with kitkat i've installed twrp through odin and got "knox 0x1 (1)" then i went with official lollipop firmware, and now i've reflashed twrp for installing cm12.1 getting knox 0x1 (2). From what i understand, there is no way to revert knox to 0x0, isn't it?
If i had a brand new note 3 with lollipop and knox 0x0 could I install custom roms without tripping it? or even get root permissions on the stock rom?
what also keep me confused is: why there are so many alert in the note 3 section on xda about tripping knox while in the s5/s6/note4 sections everything seems to be much easier? can you please explain me?
PS: execuse me if i've had not been so clear but english is not my first language
Nope, the device's virginity is lost, that baby is done, unless you have the Exynos version, where KNOX status could be reset
Thanks for answering. So i got a friend that would like to install the cm12.1 on his knox 0x0 N9005. will he trip it?
Not much idea mate. But I think there is a possibility that he might not trip it, at least I have seen something like that. Obviously the standard method of flashing a ROM via Odin or or from custom recovery will trip it, but I think there's a way to avoid that, not the usual way of course. You might ask to those who have already done it, or in the CM topic itself, if there is one.

Dont try method above - it'll trip knox to 0x1 - it will void warranty.
The more secure way is to download the oldest KitKat ROM and root via TowelRoot and then install any Knox 0x0 ROM e.g. Alexandr or Ambasadii.

My device is already 1x0 knox
My only worried is because the build number in my device isn't the same as the one on cf auto root and I don't want to get my phone bricked

By my knowledge - if you have a G900F you flash F version, What depend is only your android version...If you are using 4.4.2 use the File that i said that is 4.4.2 version Android
If you have a 5.0 Android Rom Flash the 5.0 Root ChainFire.
You Will only brick your smartphone if you flash the version M or A. But even that way probally that it will not brick entirely.
Have no Fear =) The thread that i said to you read have everything on there and you can do it.
