[RECOVERY] Recoveries for SM-P600 (lt03wifi) - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) General

I know I had a little trouble trying to find these specific recoveries due to goo.im being gone and the TWRP listing for the WIFI ONLY MODEL [SM-P600] not on their site. So I'm posting this to shorten your searches if this is for what you are searching.
All I did was use UNIFIED ANDROID TOOLKIT to flash the recovery via ODIN. But I'm going to attach phil's recovery file from the above toolkit if anyone wants it because it is hard to find for this model. Its the md5 file for use with ODIN. I think your best bet might just be to use the UNIFIED ANDROID TOOLKIT thread link above to do what you want with the device. It allows for flashing of TWRP or PHIL's. The TWRP file is named lt03wifiue so I didn't try it on mine, but it may work. But all that is up to you friend.
Not sure if this is the best place for this thread. I'm sure it will find it's right home.
Thanks.
I had to remove the .md5 extension on Phil's file only to get it to upload to XDA. So add that back.

No problem. I knew it was a pain to find something trust worthy. So I had to get it out there.
TWRP works without a hitch?

CWM Recovery for the GT-N8000

While searching for root I found a link where a compiled CWM Recovery is available for download.
The site doesn't only provide a root without increasing your downloadcounter but also a CWM for the GT-N8000

File: http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote10.1/rooting/RootGalaxyNote10.1.zip
In the file you will find a root via CWM and the CWM recovery itself.
This is not my work, I just found it and wanted to share it.
Tested it by myself and it is working

As it is not your own work, it does not belong in Development. Also, I am 90% certain that's Zedomax's stuff which already has threads here.

[Q] Need help, Goes into download mode autmatically

I have SM-T5430nu and I used Flashify to install TWRP (twrp2830_falcon_pac5sub77_v2.img) and it went into recovery and download mode. What do I need to do to fix this? Is there a stock ROM I can reflash in odin? Where can I get TWRP and install it?
Thanks

Here is the file to flash through Odin that will return everything back to stock factory settings (if you're in Canada don't use that file I think I have a better one for you). Be warned in flashing back to stock, you WILL lose all of your personal data saved on the tablet and there's no way to reverse that if you haven't backed things up.
It sounds like you're attempting to use an outdated version of TWRP. The most current build can be found in the first post of this thread. Download from the line that's right at the top:

Either download the img file to flash with flashify or the tar file to flash with Odin

At first reflash your stock firmware . And , what the hell did you decide that this is your TWRP . T53x called matisse . Taken from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/development/recovery-twrp-2-8-1-0-samsung-galaxy-t2922795 or from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=23537 .

Odin flashable factory image
Custom recovery flashable stock rom
For future reference, the "falcon" in the incorrect recovery file refers to the development name of the device that that recovery is actually intended for, one of the Motorola Falcon line of phones. Almost all devices have development codenames that have no resemblance or relevance to their actual retail name. All variants of the 10.1" Tab 4 are referred to as "Matisse" for development purposes. My first experience with this was with my first android phone, the Pantech Burst. Its development name was "Presto" and therefore all roms files, recoveries, etc. bore that Presto as part of its name. Most recovery/rom files for this tablet will either have the word matisse in the file name or will make some reference to that.
Repey, yes he should be aware of that before indiscriminately flashing files, but in his defense nothing that comes with the tablet references the codename Matisse. When I first came to this forum I had to google Matisse before I was 100% sure what you and Moonbutt74 were referencing (although I had a hunch because of my past experience)
Well, thanks for everything and it's in working order, almost.....before rooting, the tab was like a tank in term of battery life (almost 3 days) now its 1/2 - 1 day of a charge. I have juice defender ultimate and i'm getting x1.01 from the extreme profile.

If you have the 237P, I believe you need this thread to root your tablet. Make sure to read carefully, especially the most recent posts, as some have had trouble from not following directions carefully. Should work fine. Idk where you guys are as far as a custom recovery, but I'm all but certain this recovery will NOT work for your tablet.
Edit: On the thread I linked to, Post #15 has how to root info and Page 6 has the info about people messing up and what to do to correct that.
Do not download odin from this link!!
I rooted my tablet through this thread. It went smoothly , but one problem I had with the Odin download. It installed so much adware and malware without my permission or giving me a chance to decline anything, that my computer is totally screwed. I have had too do a full reinstall of windows due to this version of Odin. It has cost me money because I use my computer to design graphics for people and companies. If you don't believe me, try it out. But you can't blame me for being a bit ticked off because of this file screwing with my lively hood .

That's really crappy, I am truly sorry to hear that. You're right, that website is so shady I have a browser extension called WOT (Web of Trust check it out it's pretty handy) that wouldn't even let me go to the site. For your future reference, and anyone else reading this thread, I have attached Odin, both versions 3.07 and 3.09. They're attached to the bottom of this post, not hosted on any other site, I guarantee 100% both files are safe. They're both zip files, all you have to do is extract the folder inside to your desktop. Inside the folder will be two files. Double click the .exe to run Odin, it's that simple. Again, I'm so sorry you had to go through that mess, been there before, it's no fun.
Thanks for your quick response to my post. I just did not want others to go through what i went through. Luckily I had back ups of everything, but good news was, I rooted my tablet first try. lol. Thanks again.

Odin is installed on the PC. SuperSU (superuser) is an android app. You use Odin to flash the custom recovery (TWRP) onto your tablet.

TWRP is a custom recovery, you use it on your tablet to root (and possibly to install custom roms, if you wish). You download it as a .tar file to your PC, run Odin on your PC with your tablet connected via usb in download mode to your PC and flash the recovery file.

Download this file to your PC and extract it. Run Odin and point it to that extracted file
When you're flashing your tablet with Odin you have to have your tablet in download mode
To boot your tablet into download mode, first turn it off, then hold down home, vol -, and the power button simultaneously.

How do I install Clockwordrecovery on Samsung Note 3 SM-N900P?

Greetings-
I am able to root, and install twrp on my phone just fine. But I am not having much luck with Clockwordmod. I found this link which is a very organized, and comprehensive list of software including CWM. It points to this one, which points to this. My question is I don't know which file to pick. And for some reason Odin does not recognize the one I downloaded. I tried to flash the file with flashify, but I get into a boot loop. Can anyone point me to procedures and files which worked for this platform? I am running N900PVPUCNC5_N900PSPTCNC5_SPR. The main CWM site only seems to have the latest version, which is not odin compatible, and I am not sure if it works with my phone's software. I think it is meant for lollipop?

Thanks. My understanding is I can not flash a zImage with twrp, but I can do it with CWM. Is that not correct? The reason I just want to flash the zImage is I want to eliminate some of the steps, and see why my image does not work.

I'm not sure what a zimage is - but normal image (img) files can be flashed in TWRP.
zimage is the kernel .
I am afraid this does not help me. Don't mean to be unappreciative. I have done some research, and saw somewhere CWM can flash zImage. I have not seen the same comment about TWRP; I tried it regardless. TWRP does not recognize zImage format. I have looked into reformating the file, but I have to rely on scripts, and I am not sure if the issue with my image is in the packing stage or something else. I want to be able to replace the packing step with a tool like CWM, which is already verified. This is important for me, since I want to make sure I am not doing something wrong and messing up the file when I pack it. Can someone please help? The original question stands; has anyone successfully put CWM on this platform, and if so please share the file(s) and procedure(s) with me.
Well I have had CWM on my n9005, which doesn't help, but have you tried on the Sprint forums? There's n900p CWM Recovery and a search brings up a number of threads to check.
One immediate thing that jumps out is it recommends using Odin 3.04 - maybe it doesn't work with other versions?

Thank you so much. I'll give it a try. I hoped for a more recent version of CWM. I just found out that I can use flashify to flash .img files; so I am gonna try that on my recovery.img file I just built. That may fulefill my requirement.
Thank you so much for the help.

Do I need to flash TWRP first to flash PhilZ touch? G900F UK

Thanks for reading. When I received my phone a week ago, I was burnt twice before when flashing CF Autoroot and then PhilZ via Odin and wouldn't get past the logo, so I flashed TWRP and it was a nightmare just to get into recovery. I gave up and used KIES to go back to stock.
So, in as simple an explanation as possible, please can you tell me how to install a root kernel onto stock 5.0 build BOD3 so I don't lose anything?
Thank you very much?

Thanks for that condescending reply. The dev section is such a mess, there's no organisation whatsoever and if I wanted to flash an entire new ROM, I would, but I don't.
Hence my request.

it wasn't a condescending reply, it just seemed that way.
firstly, if you can concentrate the dev sections aren't that bad, secondly no one mentioned rom flashing at all. ever. in fact you never even explained what you needed to flash recovery for.
i was offering you the chance to hunt for the answer like we had to but since you need the help ill give it
this thread for twrp
TWRp is what i use to flash stuff if i want to and it works fine but if you want philz then all you have to do is go here go to klte and download the odin version, then flash via a pc
the problem you had was because the odin chainfire root is slightly ****y an you need the recovery flashable version. so you put philz or twrp in the phone and flash the chainfire root via the recovery,
now i apologies if you thought that i was being condescending but i got all that info from the place i pointed you to earlier, theres no reason you couldnt have done it aswell. i was trying to help by pointing you in a direction, but no ones here to spoon feed. you dont learn anything from it.
Apologies, as it seemed that way, but you have been helpful in your reply.
So I can flash this TWRP > https://dl.twrp.me/klte/twrp-2.8.7.0-klte.img.tar.html. Does flashing TWRP give me SuperSu or is that something separate I need to install?
I don't expect to be spoon-fed, I like to learn things, but this stuff is so delicate that I want to make sure I'm using the right files.
Thanks in advance.

no twrp is a recovery, a custom recovery which makes it easier to flash non official firmwares. install twrp via odin, then flash the chainfire root via twrp flashing, the chainfire flash root will gove you super su
As it happens, TWRP installed SuperSU automatically.
