Legend to Samsung galsxy S

hi, people, thinking of shifting from legend to sumsung galaxy s!! whats ur opinion!!

It depends
Well, Galaxy S has much better hardware but the only reason I would never buy it, is the screen size.
I bought my legend because of his compact size and design.
If you like big phones go for Samsung.
+ Faster, divx/xvid, super AMOLED screen, better battery life.
- size, touchwiz UI (imo HTC Sense looks better)
Personally I will wait for other phones with simillar spec to Galaxy S, but with smaller screen.

I'll give you another reason not to buy the samsung galaxy S - having come from a samsung galaxy I can reassure you samsung have a complete lack of updates (we were still waiting on Cupcake for the galaxy!). Also theyre support leaves allot to be desired.

same is here, i am coming from hero.
but u know sourcecode of samsung galaxy s is already released so we can think lot of flashing & modding, & we all are here for that as i love android for that..

Trust me you don't wanna buy anything from Samsung
Reasons :
1. Lack of updates. If you have bugs on your phone....hehehe...you will be definitely out of luck...all you can do is waiting for something which will never come....
2. Bad customer service, you wil tend to get ignored by 'em (this my personal experience).
3. Overall bad hardware (get broken very easy) compared to HTC.
I am not trying to corner Samsung or praise HTC but my personal experience and many of my friends's experience with Samsung are really bad.
My friends and me do have good experience with earlier HTC products such as O2 XDA Terra, Diamond, etc.

anyways, i would say go for a Desire or wait for the Moto-X,
samsung aint good at support and quality, GalaxyS looks like an iphone3gs to me.

doesnt the galaxy s not have a flash camera? if so i would not get it

if you're going from a legend(i have one also...) i don't see the point into going to the samsung...why not a desire instead?

as in title allready asked "From wich Phone you will jump to OnePlus One and why ?"
I will sell my Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE+ I9506 with Snapdragon 800 cause there is no Development an no CM10/11 support for it!
As the nature of a technique freak is that mostly tune/modify and want it adjust more personal likes and featurs...
In my opinion a phone who dont got CM support is a dead phone cause mostly if there is no CM support there is also no development for this phone! Thats my experiance in last 4 years!
..... well on Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE+ I9506 i had nothing of this ... + Samsung pushed their phones with NSA stuff like KNOX... that was the headshot overall!!!
So i will never buy a Samsung phone that is KNOXED... !!! Bye Bye Samsung!! It was a good time the last 4 years but with KNOX no more!!!
And the 5,5" Display and the Frame of OnePlus One is okay for me cause i also had a Note 2 before the S4 so i know the advantages and disadvantages of such "big" phones
It like you look through a big window instead of a small keyhole.... well thats my sense of taste for such of sizes
At least it was short journey at the s4 phone and i gained to 2 new great xda friends there who is and was willing to do something there Absolon and DeHAWK.
Ill hope Absolon and DeHAWK jump on OnePlus One too!!

Nexus 5! I'm so ready to buy one.

Wow, All of you sacrificing flagship devices... I'm coming from a midrange device, the HTC Desire X. There is not much developement there and just now it is beginning to get CM10 support which is still buggy, so I'm looking forward to get a phone with good specs, recent software and hopefully good developement. Also I'm looking forward to contribute to and support this forum as soon as I can get my hands on this phone!

I'm coming from a HTC One, don't get me wrong it's an incredible device but if I manage to sell it for ~£200 I'll definitely buy the ONE. I'm hoping for more battery life however if I do I'll miss the incredible speakers... (Stereo Downfacing?!)
Edit: I can buy it in HK where the price for the ONE will be around £200

The Oneplus One is said to have great stereo speakers as well. I don't know if they're as good as the ones of the HTC One though.

The problem is the speakers are placed on the bottom of the phone. Also the only advantage I can see from them being stereo is being louder due to constructive interference as I can't see much of a 'stereo effect' coming from speakers with that little separation...

That would be awesome thanks, I'm not expecting them to be as good but I hope they are better than the speakers on something like the S5.

id have to say id be coming from a Galaxy S4. i miss CM and im srsly debating on whether to get a N5 or not or just wait for the oneplus. although their contest sounds interesting to smash a phone...might be a fun time to head out to the WMA.

Coming from the Nexus 5. Crazy good specs for a cheaper price. 64gb is only 350 heck yeah. OPPO quality is awesome too

coming from a galaxy s2, never give up my s2 because with cyanogen it still looks like a new phone and all the features like monitor mode and things i put in it.. but the oneplus one it's just "wow" that spec for that price and already with cyanogen..

Just bought a HTC One M8, but I have a fully working S4 lying around, so I'll either smash it if I get picked for the contest, or just sell it and buy the OnePlus One. So then I can say I have 2 1s. One+one. Wut.

I just got a brand new Galaxy S5 two weeks ago and if I was given a ticket to purchase a One+ today, I would do it in a heartbeat and sell the Galaxy 5.
The Galaxy 5 is a great phone but all the Samsung "chrome" is driving me insane.. and I don't want to root it because of Knox.

Note 3 att If I got picked I'd smash this Knox loving locked bootloader non development having paper weight in a second...and if not I'll sell it and buy one asap

You get used to a lower quality sound. I sold my HTC One 2 weeks ago to get a G2 and even though the G2 is louder the quality it's not nearly as good as the HTC one delivered. But as I said, you just get used to what you are currently using, don't let that stop your buying impulse .
I'm also thinking of selling my G2 and buying one even though I'm clearly not get it as cheap as others since I have to import it wheter from US or China so I'll be paying around 400-500USD wich I'm currently used to pay for my flagship phones here where I live ( that's considering that I import them not buying them from the mobile companies here wich totally ripe u off with prices as crazy as 1000USD )

Gonna jump from my HTC One (M7) it have served me well, but my body is now ready for a bigger screen, the OPO seems like a perfect fit, as I also love it coming with CM11S as the default rom.

Only you can tell what's better for you. Read the review, specs, features, etc. and make a decision that fits your priorities.

I have both and even though I sold my 1+1 when I got my G3 I ended up getting another 1+1 just over a week ago and I have been using it since and if push came to shove then I think I would pick the 1+1
I'm not sure what it was that made me sell my other one, maybe it was because of the small amount of yellow tint that it had. Things I prefer about the G3 is the removable battery and sd card. I prefer the look of the 1+1 but the feel of the G3(I don't like the sandstone) The screen is better on the G3 but not by much and if I looked at one today and the other tomorrow I wouldn't notice the difference. Battery life is much better on the 1+1 and it stays a lot cooler doing the same things(I don't play games)

Again there are threads set up for this type of talk. I do not understand people who need others to make up there mind for them. Sorry if you feel I am disrespectful but why dont you simply look up the specs and user remarks on the phones and make your own educated decision.
Asking random people in a forum that may not have both phones just does not make sense to me. Again my apologies but do some reading go to the store and get a feel for G3 and see if you can borrow a friends 1=
+. Worse case buy both and sell the one you dont like

When the G3 has full functional ROMs it will be able to compete w/the opo.
In the meantime the g3 is a dog that must be seriously modded to come near the stock performance on the opo.

I have 2 G3's and an OPO. I like my OPO way more than my G3's. I'm selling them and keeping my OPO

I'm like you. I get bored of my devices after a couple of months of use. With that being said, I believe each device has it's strength. The OPO will yield you more screen size, battery life, front-facing camera, and speakers. The G3 will give you better resolution, rear-facing camera, and portability. I absolutely love my OPO and with the price of the N6, I'm really glad I chose it. I'm running Mahdi and AK kernel on it and this thing absolutely flies.
With that being said, I'd trade my OPO for a G3. It's in absolute mint condition (tempered glass and case since day one). Like I said, I love new toys.

I'd like to discuss with you if you think it is worth switching to a Galaxy S5 neo.
Coming from another S5 variant as SM-G901F, SM-G900F etc. what are pros for switching, what could be cons for switching. What is better hardware or software wise?
Would you stay on your current model? Would you switch if you can afford it?

i like the phone.. performance is good so far. camera is ok, all apps run smooth,battery takes me over the day and bit more.
i was on s3 before and changed my contract so the phone was for free
i miss root for shure . also RessurectionRemix Rom, but lets see how development is coming up for this phone

Upgrading to LG V10

I Didn't know where to put this thread so I am simply putting it here in general tab.
Do you guys think upgrading to LG v10 is a good idea?
thing sounds really cool except the processor (snappy 808) which is kinda making me think that its just not the time. Especially now that I know exynos chips are providing way better performance but I really like the features and all. Always have been a power user but ended up buying crappy devices. Every device had its down point somehow. Lg g3 has 2k too much for processor scenes and like that.
I don't want Knox so I don't wanna go down Samsung road if there is no development. After all XDA is what keeps devices newer even after 4 years :')

They should wait with "Premium" device for new Snapdragons. Or atleast use 810 v2.0

The best time to upgrade to a newer device is at the beginning of a year. If you're thinking about buying a new device now, manufacturers are going to release their premium flagship devices in about 4 months.
This means that you'll be happy with a new phone now, but you'll want to swap it in 4 months. If you wait, you'll at least get a whole year on a really nice premium device, or if you're like me, 2 years so the upgrade actually feels like a big leap forward

Knox is already in Lollipop..at least parts of it. Knox doesn't stop root or development. Locked bootloaders and DM-verity are what is killing Samsung Development. When the 2 biggest carriers in the US lock down their devices so as to make permanent root as of yet impossible, developers will leave for something else. Marshmallow will be even tougher. If you want a future proof device then you should look at Nexus devices. Otherwise wait and see how root and development turn out for the G5.

My lg g3 sucks at lollipop due to minor transition lags in notif tray and stuff, which i dont like. I will leave Lg asap

I am confuse about V10 position.
It is not a PRO like G PRO 2.
It is not a LG G5.
I will wait for LG G5.

I am waiting for lg v10.. This phone is the best phone till now

I would like to check this one out but I have to wait on my company to test and approve the phone before I can request it (corporations...). My G3 is more stable, fast, and usable than ever on XenonHD 5.1.1...

Pisses me off royally that sprint isn't getting the V10, I want it bad!

Probably wait for the v20 and see what that looks like. G3 is still getting the job done for me.

Thanks for the advice but the problem is i prefer stock and really like it, i wish there was a better lollipop stock rom

After i bought my G3 i tested stock rom for about 10 Minutes and in the next 10 Minutes i saw CM booting it up - in my opinion so much better then stock isn´t comparable
But it´s your decision

Skipping this generation. Next year will upgrade

I was thinking seriously about getting the V10, and even went to the AT&T store to check one out. But considering the $700.00 price tag to buy one outright, I think I'll get the 32GB Moto X Pure Edition instead.
